And we said that to understand this 00:02:13.259 --> 00:02:19.520 text we need to do some studies. We began by 00:02:19.520 --> 00:02:24.099 answering a few questions which is a usual way 00:02:24.099 --> 00:02:27.039 in which we study Bible by looking at the context. 00:02:28.590 --> 00:02:32.789 We answered two questions last Sunday. And what shall 00:03:52.780 --> 00:03:58.680 we see then? Is this the law sin? Verse 9, I 00:05:26.519 --> 00:05:30.540 was alive once without the law. And we try to 00:05:30.540 --> 00:05:33.800 ask the question, what does that mean? Was Paul 00:05:33.800 --> 00:05:37.839 referring or saying that he was physically alive 00:05:37.839 --> 00:05:42.000 before Moses gave the law? And we say, no, that's 00:05:42.000 --> 00:05:44.680 not what he's trying to say. Because if you look 00:05:44.680 --> 00:05:46.339 at the context, that was not the discussion. 00:05:47.259 --> 00:05:51.420 We said actually Paul lived about for more than 00:05:51.420 --> 00:05:58.939 1 ,500 years after Moses was honored. And then 00:05:58.939 --> 00:06:02.920 we looked at what actually that meant. And we 00:06:02.920 --> 00:06:05.279 started looking at some keyword there. We said 00:06:05.279 --> 00:06:09.300 was alive was translated from the Greek word 00:06:09.300 --> 00:06:14.550 zao. And then we said that word zao is a verb. 00:06:15.129 --> 00:06:17.949 The noun that was derived from that, we call 00:06:17.949 --> 00:06:20.990 it zoe. And that's what we normally, we know 00:06:20.990 --> 00:06:26.430 that one, zoe. And we said this zao means to 00:06:26.430 --> 00:06:30.230 live, to breathe, to be among the living, to 00:06:30.230 --> 00:06:36.189 be active. And the word once we noted is pote, 00:06:36.310 --> 00:06:40.250 which means at full time or at some time. or 00:06:40.250 --> 00:06:44.029 in the time past. And we looked again at that 00:06:44.029 --> 00:06:46.550 verse 9, and we noticed some of the words also, 00:06:46.629 --> 00:06:51.509 like revive, and we said revive was translated 00:06:51.509 --> 00:06:57.449 from the Greek word anazao, which implies to 00:06:57.449 --> 00:07:01.089 live again, to recover life, or to raise to life. 00:07:01.670 --> 00:07:07.949 And the word we said anazao was used in the parable 00:07:07.949 --> 00:07:12.110 of The lost son. Are we together? Or we call 00:07:12.110 --> 00:07:15.670 the parable of the prodigal son. Amen? Let's 00:07:15.670 --> 00:07:17.829 go back to that text also. Let's read it quickly. 00:07:18.110 --> 00:07:28.449 Luke 15. That word, which is to revive. Are you 00:07:28.449 --> 00:07:33.329 in Luke 15? Luke 15. I will read 24. For that time, waiting till his 00:14:58.149 --> 00:15:03.529 enemies are made his footstool. Of course, the 00:15:03.529 --> 00:15:07.269 book of 1 Corinthians told us that the last enemy 00:15:07.269 --> 00:15:11.490 that shall be destroyed is what? Is death. For by one offering, he has perfected, you 00:15:16.269 --> 00:15:19.190 see, what was not perfected year in year out 00:15:19.190 --> 00:15:24.590 by sacrifice, One offering has perfected forever 00:15:24.590 --> 00:15:28.629 those who are sanctified, not those who are being 00:15:28.629 --> 00:15:30.450 sanctified.
