Shall we time travel or remoteview this one? You know what, i’m going to take it easy on you this time and i’ll just tell you a story. The year is 1954, the location is Haneda Airport, Tokyo Japan A well dressed man, who goes by the name John Allen Kuchar Zegrus makes his way through customs and presents his passport, however upon inspection of the passport the man throws up some serious red flag for the customs officer… the passport is not from a country he recognizes and it’s not just because he is bad at geography It is because the country, Taured, doesn’t exist. It’s true. The customs officer even checks with his supervisor to confirm, yes I was right Taured doesn’t exist The passport issued at Tamanrasset, the capital of Taured and looked authentic Obviously he’s detained for more questioning about wtf is going on The man, John, was described as looking caucasian with a beard and primary language was French but was also speaking Japanese John, proclaims to the customs officers that he had previously visited Japan 3 times from his country (he loves it there, i’ve heard great things).. And there are even stamps in his passport to prove it. Sure enough there they were. The man was given a map and asked to point out where TF Taured was, I mean who wouldn’t in this situation.. He points to Andorra which is at the border or France and Spain which led to John joining in on the confusion because the map said Andora not Taured. Also, Andora is a real place. Doesn’t it seem so random for Andorra to be the exact spot where Taured is? It’s one of the world’s smallest countries between France and Spain and its not even at the ocean… it’s inland. I dunno just seems weird Apparently Tauredians… Taurtions… Taurens? are stubborn because he refused to give in and good for him! I guess if I was from a country that suddenly disappeared from a map I would be reluctant to give in as well. Canada MF’s! John, Mr. Zegrus was also carrying multiple currencies, a real world traveller, and was carrying a chequebook for no known bank. John gave the name of the company for which he had a meeting with and the hotel where he was to stay. The company did exist in Tokyo however the people there when questioned had never heard of him. The hotel also existed however had no record of a reservation. Given all these crazy revelations they detain the man until they can figure this out and put him up in a hotel.. Odd choice but here I am regaling you with this historical tale and it doesn’t end here! Two guards are placed at his door to ensure this mystery man, John, didn’t escape.. So weird no other way to secure a person detained didn’t exist back in 1954 Japan but, again, i’m just relaying this historical account at this point, no judgement to be had. The next morning when they went to retrieve the man, probably with more questions I assume… he was gone! Straight up vanished with all his personal belongings AND his documents that were being held at the airport also disappeared into the multiverse.. speculation BTW there was only the door for entry and exit so it was an interior hotel room with no windows.. Oh wait it was a high up room with no balcony Whats the deal with this dude John? Well he very obviously could be a man telling the truth from Taured He could be a man lying and is from Taured If he is from Taured this would be a complexing situation for him being in a world where Taured does not exist so he may be in an alternate timeline somehow.. It happens, I mean we do live in a world where Shazam wasn’t a movie so anything is possible at this point He may also be a time traveller This could also be an internet hoax Now I could continue to give you other reasons but I think I might as well just give you the down low because I like you, so fact of the matter is this is an Urban Legend.. I’m sorry to disapoint John Allen Kuchar Zegrus is a real man In October 1959 he and his Korean wife entered Japan and 3 months later he was arrested by the Marunouchi police office for identity fraud He tried to cash a 200,000 yen cheque and a 140 travellers cheque at the Japanese office of Chase Manhattan bank and 100,000 yen at the japanese office of the Bank of Korea This John claimed to be an ambassador of Negus Habes (Ethiopia) with diplomatic immunity.. So that means he can freely commit fraud, oh right and he was also an American spy…. Ok, ok twist my arm, here is his whole story. He claimed to be born in the US, moved to the UK through Czechoslovakia and Germany and attended high school there. During WWII he was a pilot in the ROyal AIr Force and was captured by the Germans. After the war he lived in Latin America and later became a spy for the Americans in South Korea, served as a pilot in Thailand and Vietnam and after that he was assigned by the United Arab Republic with a mission and became a diplomat in Negus Habes. He arrived in Japan for a secret mission which included recruiting Japanese military volunteers for the United Arabic Republic…. Eventually after contacting the mentioned countries it was ruled that the information was all completely made up But he had proof of course! A passport the size of a magazine written in Negus-Habessian with known script resembling Arabic It contained stamps of Japanese embassies in different east asian countries… anyway it was obviously counterfeit… magazine sized passport doesn’t check out August 10, 1960 Tokyo district court reviews the case and sented the real Zegrus to one year in prison, afetr the announcement he tried to commit suicide… after his release he was deported from Japan to Hong Kong from where it seems as if he originated and his wife deported to S Korea So, i’m sorry to burst your bubble of the mystery man of Taured, I do appreciate what the story morphed into and I would have loved if we just left it with that however I must give you the truth and the truth is not as good in this case
