Welcome to "What is Prophecy?”, the series, read by Hector Garcia. In this episode, we will see that in a world of fables, the Bible anchors our faith as God's preserved revelation of His character and salvation plan. It transforms us into sons of God, reveals His love, calls us to vigilance toward Him and mercy toward the community, and heralds final truth through the Two Witnesses. Let's answer the question: Why does God send us such messages? 1 John 1:3, it reads “Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. In John 1:12, it says “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” In Colossians 1:25–28, we read “Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God; Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:” In The Signs of the Times, January 30, 1893, it reads “The Bible is a wonderful book. It is a history that opens up to us the past centuries. Without the Bible we would have been left to conjectures and fables in regard to the occurrences of past ages. It is a prophecy that unveils the future. It is the word of God unfolding to us the plan of salvation, pointing out the way by which we may escape eternal death and gain eternal life. Of all the books that flood the world, however valuable, the Bible is the Book of books, most deserving of our study and admiration. It gives not only the history of this world but a description of the world to come. It contains instruction concerning the wonders of the universe, it reveals to our understanding the character of the Author of the heavens and the earth. In it is the revelation of God to man.” This is what it means to me... A man stood before kings, yet he was not a king. He spoke of kingdoms, yet he owned no land. He revealed secrets, yet he claimed no wisdom of his own. And the mystery begins: How does heaven trust a human heart, with divine secrets in a distant land, under a foreign crown? A king lay awake at night, troubled, shaken, afraid A dream had come: powerful, vivid, unforgettable. But there was one problem: He could not remember it. And worse, none could explain it. The wise men came: the astrologers, the magicians. All stood silent, powerless, exposed. The king demanded answers. Not just the meaning, but the dream itself. Impossible, or so they thought. Because there was a man, a captive, a servant, a stranger in a strange land. And he did not claim wisdom. He did not claim power. He said something different “There is a God in heaven that reveals secrets” Not man, not kings, not scholars - God. And in that moment, the story shifts. Because this was never about a dream, It was about revelation. You see, God does not act in silence. He does not leave His people unprepared. Scripture tells us: “Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he reveals his secret unto his servants the prophets” Nothing. That means every warning, every message, every prophecy is an act of mercy. A signal before the storm. God speaks, before He acts. But not everything is revealed. Some things remain hidden: “The secret things belong unto the Lord our God.... but those things which are revealed belong unto us”.... And here is the truth: God gives enough light to walk safely. But not so much that faith is no longer needed. Because revelation is not about knowing everything. It is about trusting the One who knows all things. And why does He reveal anything at all? Because He loves. “We love him, because he first loved us” Every prophecy, every warning, every message is not driven by power, but by love. A love that refuses to let humanity walk blindly into destruction. A love that speaks, warns, calls. And still, many do not listen. Some hear, but do not act. Some know, but do not change. And the result? “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge” Not because truth was hidden, but because it was ignored. And that brings us back to the man standing before a king. Calm, steady, certain. Not because of who he was, but because of who God is. The dream was revealed, the meaning made clear: kingdoms would rise, kingdoms would fall. But above them all, one kingdom would stand forever. And the man who spoke these words was not a king. He was Daniel: a servant, a prophet, a vessel.... And now you know, the truth the Spirit has made known....
