his passing, a dilemma presented itself to him. He knew that should he die, the

Ashura, made the decision to create the tailed beasts, splitting the chakra of the tentales into nine different beasts.

Hageno created the chakra monsters that would later come to be feared. Among these tailed beasts, though, was one

that was quite special. A fox bearing nine tales. This is the main character

of our story. Haguro named all of the tailed beasts. Each one getting their own unique name. Shukaku, Matatabi,

Isobu, Son Goku, Koko, Siken, Chome, Kyuki, and finally he came to the

Ninetales. He spoke. Naruto, he said. The tailed beast stopped for a moment

and looked on in awe. Naruto, he asked. The elderly man smiled. What's the

And I suppose in a way you remind me of my son more so than the other beasts,

I love it, he said. But despite the joy of the moment and the happiness of the beasts, each interacting with the man

they came to view as their father, the truth was it was quite a sorrowful time. Hagodma was sick, and he knew he was not

long for this world. But how could he tell them? They were each so glad to be around him. How could he ever tell them

that their births were the byproduct of fear caused by the imminent threat of his demise? He let them play. He let

them do the things that they wanted to do. Naruto often found himself hanging around Hagurromo. The old man pet the

snout of the beast kindly, but Naruto could tell something was wrong. Naruto was a strange beast. All of the other

tailed beasts seemed to develop unique abilities, such as Shukaku, who gained the ability to manipulate sand and

utilize magnet release. But Naruto was different. He didn't gain a kekki genkai or any special ability as far as Hagodmo

had seen. Instead though, Naruto possessed the uncanny ability to connect with others, to sense their emotions and

needs, and always seemingly know how to tend to them. And right now, Naruto was sniffing around Haguro. He had already

sensed that something was wrong. "Dad, why are you so nervous?" Hagodmo looked to Naruto. "Nervous, you say?" he asked.

Naruto nodded. "Yeah, I sense it in your chakra. You're scared about something. What's bothering you?" Hagodmo let out a

sigh. He knew the time would come where he would have to tell them. And now he supposed was the proper time. Naruto, I

have something to tell you, he said. What is it? Naruto asked. I'm sick.

Sick? Naruto questioned. Sick how? Haguro then began to explain. I'm very

old, Naruto, he said. And because of that, my body weakens. I can't keep up with it anymore. Slowly, my strength is

fading. Naruto listened on with concern. I knew for a while that this was happening. How long? Naruto asked. Since

before you all were born. My decision to make you was actually based out of fear.

You probably don't remember this, but you were all once part of a terrible monster of power and size beyond

anything anyone among you could be. This beast was sealed inside of me. And as it

was, I held it at bay. But as I grew closer to death, two possibilities

different beasts. In doing so, I feel as though it will be safer now because now that you're each individuals, you

possess something the Ninetailes didn't have. What's that? Naruto asked. A heart, of course, Haguro chuckled. You

possess a heart. You don't want to hurt or kill. If anything, you want to

protect, and because of that, I know that the world won't be destroyed when I pass, he said. Naruto smiled, but then

looked down with sorrow in his heart. He tried to mask it, but he couldn't. You're upset," Haguro said. Naruto

nodded. "I'm sorry. You don't have to apologize. Tell me what is bothering you," he said. Naruto looked up. "I'm

what he had explained to Naruto. The beasts were shocked and upset. All the while Naruto kept his head lowered,

sorrow present in his expression. The other beasts took it with varied responses. Some accepted it and thanked

the sage. Others seemed scared and sorrowful. But one above all else was

affected the most. Shukaku. He was enraged, screaming out that it was not

fair. Why did the sage have to die? Why was he leaving them? Hagodmo tried to calm Shukaku down, but Shukaku screaming

in anger, tears flying from his cheeks, refused the advances, and then turned around and ran away as though he had

been betrayed. Hagodmo stood there and sighed. Naruto watched as Shukaku fled.

He looked at the sage. "Can I go and talk to him?" he asked. Hagodmo looked at Naruto and nodded. "I think that's a

good idea," he said. "I will stay with the others." And so Naruto rushed out into the darkness after Shukaku. Shoo,

Naruto followed the voice and finally he found sitting all by himself the tanuki of the sand. Back turned to Naruto. He

middle of the circle and smiled at Naruto, who returned his gaze. When he finally had a moment alone, he passed

tell the sage what it was that Shukaku had said, what he was feeling. The elderly man seemed upset. "He truly

thinks I don't love him as much as I love you," he questioned. Naruto looked away. "He's just worried. He didn't

understand why it was you told me first and not him. I think he misunderstood why we were spending time together. I

can't lie. I was too worried to do much else than just be coddled by you. And Shukaku misunderstood the affection you

were giving me. He thought I was just getting it because I was special. He didn't know how much I needed it at that

moment. I think he does now, though. Hagodmo would nod. I think he needs it now, he said. The sage would eventually

head out to find Shukaku, and Naruto would wait with the other tailed beasts. A part of him wanted to know what they

were talking about, curiosity, as it were, but he quelled that desire. This was a very special moment between

Shukaku and Hagarommo. He could not interfere. Naruto could do one thing

though. Whether this was wise or not, Naruto couldn't know. But he loved his brother and he knew his siblings. So he

approached them each one by one and told them Shukaku's really sad and he's ashamed that he had an outburst. If

possible, when he comes back, don't make a big deal of it. Don't even address it. Treat it like it didn't happen. I think

he needs it. Each tailed beast, even the rougher ones, like Son Goku, understood what Naruto was saying and opted not to

say anything. Eventually, the sage walked back with Shukaku. Most beasts tried to ignore him, but a few of the

more tender-hearted ones would look back with a solemn smile and a greeting. Naruto couldn't be mad at them. He was

just grateful to see Shukaku getting the love he needed. He didn't seem to have any shame in it. Naruto even walked past

Shukaku, and when he did, he whispered, "Welcome back, brother. I missed you. He

And now Naruto was happy. Hagodo kept them around in the area for a day more where he would spend much time with

them. But after he would take them out and set them free, telling them that he built for them new homes where they

they were creatures of moisture. One being a mollisk, the other a slug. Ch he

sent to the dense forests and jungles of the land of waterfalls where he could watch over the ecosystem and the other

bugs and animals. Koko and Son Goku were sent to the land of earth due to them being beasts of the land and considered

the kings of them. And as for Kurama, he put him in the land of fire where so much of civilization gathered. Further,

he was near equal distance from all other tailed beasts, meaning he could help them if he needed. It was true

Hagodmo held no favoritism among his beasts, but he did know their strengths and where their talents lay. Of all

Naruto through the grapevine as his tailed beast brethren realizing what was happening began to inform him that

things were getting very bad and we're looking to become a world spanning war that could see the end of humanity as a

whole. And so Naruto made the executive decision to intervene between the Senju and Uchiah. As they all marched out to

battle one day, it was Naruto who rose up between them. Naruto was thankful that it seemed that the wood release

that Hagodmo had feared was quite rare within the Senju, slowly dying out with

each passing generation. However, despite that, the Uchiah's Shainggon was just as burning red as ever, and as many

members as fought in the battles appeared to have it. Naruto found it a wonder that the Senju had not been

destroyed yet, as the Uchiah had developed not only Sharing, but Mongeko Sharinggon, which gave access to Susano.

And while their control over the Susano was never as great as Indras, likely due to their Mongakyo burning out before

they had the chance to complete, it was still a powerful jutsu that when used turned the user into the equivalent of a

modern-day tank, especially if they'd been blessed enough to master the armored form. Of the two sides, the

Uchiah seemed to be most likely to strike out at Naruto. They were the more likely of the groups to actually use

their Susano. Naruto did not come to fight, however, so he mostly attempted to corral the Senju and Uuchiha,

attempting to reason with them. They seldom listened, but he refused to stop. He kept it up. Eventually, however,

one day, in an attempt to capture him, the Uchiah sent the strongest of their warriors against him. Remembering what
