laughing like a madman. All the while, Sakura and Sasuke were left shocked. Already, Kakashi felt like this was the

worst idea anyone had ever had, being put on the same team as the knuckle-headed ninja Naruto. But he

persevered. After getting to know his students, Kakashi set up a little test for them involving a pair of bells where

he planned to definitely get his revenge against Naruto. As soon as the test began, he would get his chance because

under threat of immediate failure. And despite the series not being about him

wasn't very amused. Because of that, he sort of let his mind be known to the Hokag, who decided to actually give them

something out of the village. Something the team might see as exciting, but not very dangerous. That would change soon.

Before, you could say fraudulent contract with ninjas. A pair of assassins that Tzuna never mentioned

were hunting him appeared. Naruto normally would have frozen as they came for him, but oddly his body reacted on

its own. He was pulled into the ground as if solids had become a liquid. One of the demon brothers, who it was Naruto

How had he done this? As if answering his own question, he suddenly saw Mizaki in his memory and how he had also used

trifled with. With his sharing, Kakashi managed to take Zabuzza by surprise and take the advantage in their fight. But

shortly after he was captured by Zabaza's water prison technique which would lock Kakashi into a sphere of

water. In the end, despite the power of the Sharinggon, Kakashi was the one who was fooled and thus he was defeated. It

looked as though he were doomed to die. But as he was prepared to accept his fate, he saw his two students outside

working to free him. Naruto, with his newly acquired techniques, would try to take Zabaza by surprise. He would dive

deep into the ground as though it were water, leaving a shadow clone in his place. Sasuke and the shadow clone would

then attack Zabaza together with Shuriken, causing him to block them with his blade. As Naruto was under him, he

once more tried the same thing he tried with Meu. But when he did, he was startled because Zabaza's blade came

down to sever his hand. Naruto managed to pull his hand back in time to keep it, but not fast enough to not be cut.

Ouch! That blade is sharp. He tried to wrap up his hand to staunch the bleeding and stop the stinging burn that he

couldn't afford to focus on. The pain dulled a bit as if acknowledging an alarm. Naruto saw Zabuzza look down at

the ground and for a moment he questioned if Zabaza could see him. It was likely he couldn't, but perhaps he

Zabas's blade would swing, severing hands and destroying clones as they came up. But what quality Naruto lacked, he

made up for with quantity. Eventually, he managed to get enough clones and hands up to grab Zabaza, which forced

him to split his attention between too many targets, which dropped his defenses just enough for Sasuke to become a true

threat. Zabuzza would, in a moment of desperation, raise his blade. Sure that

if he was going down, he'd at least take Sasuke with him. Naruto would spring up from behind Zabuzza and kick him in the

and Kakashi was freed. But as Sasuke rushed to Kakashi, Naruto became amazed.

It felt as though the whole world just opened up to him. He stood there, his eyes wide, no sound reaching his ears as

felt the movements, knowing that they were nostalgic, though he couldn't pin down why. At least not immediately.

"What are you doing in here?" Sasuke demanded between pained grimaces. "I'm saving your rear," Naruto said. "If I

would be standing at the pearly gates. Naruto threw Sasuke out of the dome, and Haku allowed it. He was curious as to

what Naruto could do. As Naruto stood there, Haku threw more Senbon. He deflected them all with his kunai. He

then began to weave hand signs of his own. A dragon made of pure water appeared before them and went out to

strike Haku. But Haku's ice froze over it. From there, Haku got more serious,

recognizing that Naruto somehow had all of his master's techniques, making him roughly about as threatening. However,

as the Senbon rained down, Naruto dove down into the ground to avoid them. Naruto was not bound by this dome of

mirrors and would reappear outside of it. Haku would realize that his trap attack was now of no use, and he would

shatter it before jumping out into the side. Landing before Naruto, Haku spoke. "You're good for someone so young. Who

even Naruto did. But further, he didn't have any other techniques that Haku didn't know. Haku had seen them all.

What could he do? Sakura, seeing Naruto's panic, jumped in the way and took a blow meant for him, causing her

to go down. Naruto, seeing this, felt deep, intense rage, enough to awaken a

heat in him that took Haku by surprise. The vision of the Ninetailes appeared behind Naruto as Haku took a step back.

Naruto would suddenly feel his arm coming back to life, and a moment later, he knocked Haku to the ground,

history. Zabaza continued the fight, and Naruto questioned how he could betray someone who loved him so strongly. Then

Gateau's men arrived, and Zabaza showed them how he got the nickname Demon of the Bloody Mist. Zabaza too died that

day, but not before freeing the land of waves from the grips of Gateau. They were able to rest that night before

heading home. But as Naruto laid there in his bed, he couldn't help but think about Haku. It was as if he was seeing

his memories with Zabaza, it was as if during those fights, as the two Shinobi's fists clashed, their spirits

communicated. And upon defeating them, Naruto carried a piece of them with him always. He saw Haku's past, how he met

loving it was enough to make Naruto cry because he came to realize that even his enemies were people too. Not faceless

monsters who only existed to be defeated by him. No, they had a history, a past,

dreams, and a future. They had struggles and joys just like him. And just like
