0:00 Bear with me. I may be cooking. Naruto as a ninen is a pretty funny idea. The 0:05 idea of Naruto being reborn as things started with him being reborn as 0:10 himself. And though I'm not planning to have him keep his memories and powers, this all started when I was working on a 0:17 script called What if Naruto were an Inuzuka? What would happen if instead of 0:23 being an Inazuka and having a Ninken, Naruto were the Ninken itself? I felt 0:29 like I could tell a story that was very interesting. So for this story, let's just turn Naruto into say a Sheba Enu 0:37 that kind of fits his personality. The breed has history in the series as a good companion, including with Indra and 0:44 Ashura. And further, Sheibba Enu are very closely related to foxes, which is 0:49 Naruto's whole motif. So why don't we try something like that? Welcome to the Amagi. Only 25% of our viewers are 0:56 subscribed. So, if you're a fan of the video, please like and double check if you are subscribed. And with that out of 1:02 the way, let's get into the video. Our story opens up in a dark, dank little 1:07 warehouse. There were stacks upon stacks of wired dog cages sitting on top of 1:12 each other and the constant sound of barking. It never got quiet. From sun 1:18 down to sun up, there was barking because one dog kept another awake and another kept making the next one wake 1:24 up. All getting peeved. They kept hearing that continual barking sound over and over and over again. To get any 1:33 sleep around here, you had to learn to ignore the noise. To tune it out, this wasn't the best place in the world. 1:39 Sure, puppies and dogs were a wonderful thing. For children, this may have seemed like a wonderland. For a puppy 1:46 like this little Sheba Enu, though, it was hell. Born on mass, caged, fed just 1:52 enough to live. No exercise, no connection with humans and being taken away from your mother at an early age. 1:58 Did this puppy even have a mother anymore? Maybe, maybe not. Some of the females existed only to breed, and when 2:05 their time was over, well, what use were they? The living conditions were bad and health conditions were even worse. Allow 2:12 me to introduce you, my dear viewer, to the horrors that one might call the puppy mill. And what was worse still was 2:19 that this was state sponsored. Everything was a shinobi, and if it wasn't a shinobi, it was a ninja tool. 2:26 What a ninken was would be up to its owner. But the point was, dogs were trained in war. The smartest of them 2:32 maybe even learned to talk. Maybe they became something more. Or maybe they were a wash out and just sent to the 2:39 nearest pet store to be sold. And if you were a sufficiently unwanted puppy, well, that's a road too dark for me to 2:46 travel down today. But this was just the way of the village. It was cruel, yes. 2:52 And when God created man's best friend, I highly doubt he wanted something like this to occur, where the joy of life was 2:59 treated as a nuisance or something to so easily be cast aside. Life for these little puppies was filled with anxiety. 3:06 Because having been ripped away from their mother at such a young age, they never truly learned how to cope with things. And so, for the puppies that 3:13 didn't bark, they trembled. This official Ninken production and testing site was a hellish place to start one's 3:20 life. And if you noticed, I included the words testing site. Yeah, how do you think they learned which dogs to send to 3:27 be trained and which to send to the pet store? There was a lot of dog fighting, testing to see which dogs had it in them 3:34 to be warriors and which were washouts that at best would be put up for adoption for kids and at worst might 3:41 just be left to die of their wounds. To be honest, the people who worked here had become desensitized to it. After 3:47 all, it was just a dog. Oftentimes, when it was time to pit the dogs against each other to see if they had what it took to 3:53 be soldiers, the guards watching would cast bets. This place was a haven for animal cruelty. And the Inazuka would 4:00 not let you forget it. The Inazuka, a prestigious family, were the only ones outside with picket signs and chains to 4:07 tie themselves to posts to impede production. Sum Inazuka had been arrested 20 times over the past few 4:14 years for this, chaining herself to the gates. The only reason she had stopped was because she had given birth to 4:19 another child and was no longer the young woman she once was. She felt as though she made quite a few mistakes 4:25 when raising Hana, being away, being in jail. It had changed Hana into a responsible woman, but only because it 4:32 forced her to grow up too quickly. For that, Sume held shame and promised not to let the same thing happen to Ka. But 4:39 just because Sume wasn't there didn't mean she didn't support it. And it didn't mean that others didn't show up 4:44 in her place. The Hokag had even come to recognize this and had begun to institute an oversight committee and 4:50 inspectors to ensure that everything was done in a humane way. But you know what? The inspectors liked money. And this 4:57 place had a lot of money because not every sale of a puppy was well legal. 5:03 There were some groups who trained them for bets in the entertainment district and even a few strangers who claimed 5:08 that it made for the best ramen ingredient. Cheap and unique in taste, but I think I've prattled on a bit too 5:15 much about how bad this is. By this point, I think you get the idea. This one Sheenu was new. He'd been around for 5:22 a good few months, and thankfully he was healthy. Healthy in the physical sense, at least unhealthy in the mind. Plagued 5:29 by anxiety, he seemed to cower in the face of the shinobi who looked him over. I'm sure you know who this puppy will 5:35 come out to be, but as it stands, he has no name, only a number. 92199. 5:42 That was his number. A lot of dogs had been bred since the wars started requiring them. And now they were 5:48 drawing close to celebrating the momentous 100,000th puppy bred. That one, no doubt, would be given to a 5:55 politician, maybe the Hokag, whoever that would be. when it occurred. But 92199 was not going to be that dog. He 6:03 was a nobody puppy. And that meant he was expendable. The day eventually came though for 92199 to prove himself 6:10 against another dog to see if he had what it took to make it in this crulest of ninja worlds. Set to fight to what 6:18 could possibly be the death against a larger, stronger dog. Its designation was 92186. 6:24 The Sheba Enu was facing a Doberman, which had a considerable size difference. Thanks to their youth, 6:30 though, the size difference wasn't overly substantial, but it was enough for the Doberman to have quite the edge. 6:36 The guards opened the cages and watched the dogs fight. Smart money was on the Doberman, of course, but a couple 6:42 stragglers bet on the Sheba, thinking that if the Sheba actually did win, the payout would be substantial. Of course, 6:49 the Sheba didn't win. It was fighting just to live. The Doberman was fighting to kill. The difference in size as well 6:56 as the difference in mentalities was enough to give victory to the Doberman. The Sheba laid there, Doberman standing 7:01 over it, growling, teeth showing, preparing to kill. The Sheba, beaten, bloodied, and half accepting death 7:07 already, just laid there unmoving. Maybe the guards had compassion. Or maybe they were driven by the need to make more 7:13 money, but they stopped the match. I think you're a bit too cute to waste in a fight like this. Some little girl or 7:20 boy out there is going to want a cute little pup to play with. Even as scarred up as you are, they might choose you. It 7:26 was money driven, it seemed. So, this puppy wasn't ninja material. But considering its disposition and anxiety, 7:32 it didn't really seem like it would ever amount to much, but you never know. Might as well try to make that buck, 7:38 right? And so, the Sheba was sent to the local Kenko. Maybe this was a better life for him. Despite the unfortunate 7:44 circumstances, the Kenko people were actually pretty nice. He overheard them talking about how shameful it was to be 7:50 sourcing puppies from such a horrible place, thinking that it could only be wrong to be in support of it. But at the 7:56 same time, they said that the act of giving these poor little pupers a chance to find a home was well worth the price. 8:02 At least that's how they justified it. To be honest, 92199 wasn't the prettiest 8:08 dog in the world. Not since they made him fight. He almost died and his body was covered with the scars to prove it. 8:14 And frankly, most humans that came in wanted to find something more cute, something not broken. And at this point, 8:21 92199 being maybe a year old, was already broken. Broken in mind and in 8:28 spirit. He was a broken toy that nobody wanted. Boys and girls, parents, they all came in and the kids would look at 8:34 him. He could hear the kids asking about him, but the parents always replied with, "He doesn't do anything and he 8:39 looks so gnarly. Why not look at the other one? Who could blame them?" When children wanted a puppy to play with, if 8:45 the puppy could or would not play, what use was it? Or at least that was the thought process of 92199. 8:52 He knew he wasn't wanted. He would overhear some of the Kenko people talking about how he was the only dog 8:57 nobody wanted and the shame of how he might have to be put down. They were still sweet people, though. They were 9:03 the first to pull him out of cages and give him the first cuddles. But at this point, the mere touch of a human just 9:08 caused him more anxiety. He peed on at least one of the store employees, but they didn't get mad. They understood. 9:15 They really were nice people. At least one employee spoke and said, "If nobody takes them, I'll take him. I won't let 9:21 them put him down." But Sojiro, you can't just accept every dog that comes through here and doesn't find a home. I 9:27 know, Ecoy. I just can't stomach it. I'll cry when they take him. I can't let it happen to him. Every dog deserves its 9:34 home, the guy said. Ecoy pat her compatriot's shoulder. You've got a good heart, but you can't save every dog. The 9:40 world's cruel, and we just have to accept that. Sojiro, at least that's what 92199 thought his name was, seemed 9:47 to give up. Maybe you're right. It's just too much for me. It's okay. I'm sure the puppy knows you care for it. 9:54 And it was true. 92199 did understand. He knew they cared, but he was a lost 10:00 cause. He was born into a world full of suffering. Was it any less that he 10:05 should suffer with everyone else? Life was short for people and even shorter for a dog. 92199 couldn't blame the 10:13 humans. Some were mean, others were nice, but all were bound by the system that caused this pain. It wasn't their 10:19 fault. Not all of them at least. He ate when he felt like it, but most of the time he tended to sleep, just trying to 10:25 push away the days until eventually the end of all his days came. But then something peculiar happened. It all 10:32 started at about noon when the sound of a door's bell chimed and a man walked in. He was a tall man, a man wearing a 10:38 long kimono. His hair was long, black, and straight, and his eyes weren't like anything 92199 had ever seen. 10:45 Regardless, he just ignored the person. "What can I do for you, Lord Hiashi?" the woman asked. "I'm here to look for a 10:51 dog. Something to train like a service animal for my daughter." "A service animal? We have many breeds that tend to 10:57 work well. Very kind, loving, and loyal. Are you looking for anything in particular? She asked. I would like to 11:02 browse before I make my decision, he said. Of course. Let me lead you to them, she said, bringing him around the 11:08 back. There were many dogs, each one coming to the cage openings, barking, jumping, doing tricks, trying anything 11:15 to get attention, to gain favor, and 92199 just laid there. For a time, he 11:20 had been like the other dogs. He had jumped around. He even had this trick he could do, a backflip, but none of it 11:27 mattered. He was too scarred up. If his face didn't scare the kids, it warned their parents that he'd been a fighter. 11:33 Might have been a dangerous dog. Might hurt their kids. So, they moved on. He 11:38 expected none of this to change. He expected that this man was going to do the same. It was always the same. The 11:45 man came to the cage and looked in at 92199. "What's wrong with this dog?" he asked. 11:50 "This one has been here for quite a while. I think it's given up," Ecoy told Hiashi. Hi then nodded and moved on to 11:57 look at the other dogs. "Do you like this one, sir?" she asked, showing him a border collie. "What type of dog is 12:02 needed? Protection? Something to help see? Or maybe something smaller for emotional support?" "This 12:10 border collie may be perfect, then border collies are known for their extreme emotional intelligence and have 12:16 been known for their ability to sense an emotional crisis. "Would you like me to get this one out for you, sir?" she asked. "Yes, that would be fine," he 12:23 said. 92199 knew it. He knew this would happen. It wasn't a surprise. He was 12:29 happy for whatever dog was chosen. It was better that it would be happy as opposed to him anyway. Not like 92199 12:36 could ever handle the service animal bit. He was too broken. He couldn't even take care of himself, let alone anyone 12:41 else. Actually, hold on that for a moment, Hiashi said. Oh, okay. Ecoy said as she put the puppy back with a pat. 12:48 Hiashi then walked back over to 92199's cage and looked in again. "What about 12:54 this one?" he asked. Ecoy walked over. "Uh, sir, I don't I don't recommend that 13:00 one," she said. "Why not?" "Well, there are many reasons. She enusependent 13:07 and stubborn. They tend not to be very reliable when it comes to performing certain actions to meet certain needs. 13:13 And besides, it's been well over a month since I've seen that dog do anything more than lay in the corner. Is it 13:19 suffering? Hi Ashi asked. Probably. We get dogs from sketchy places in Konoha 13:24 all the time. And this one, as you can see, is a little torn up. He's likely been ruined by whatever mill or home he 13:31 came from originally. Ruined, you say? Hi asked. Ecoy nodded. It's so sad. I 13:38 want him, he said. Ecoy was shocked. Even Sojiro stood up when he heard that. 13:43 You You want Ecoy was at a loss for words. "You want nine?" Sojiro said, his 13:48 face brimming with joy. At this, Hiashi was getting a little uncomfortable, but he held his place. "Yes, I want this 13:55 one. I need more than just my daughter to have a dog that comforts her. I want for her to have a dog that requires as 14:01 much love as she expects it to give her. A puppy with problems will inspire her to focus on something beyond herself and 14:08 may help her learn to cope by helping the puppy learn to cope. and further. When my daughter's in need, it will give 14:14 this puppy a purpose. 92199 opened his eyes at the sound of these words. 14:20 "Surely this was a mistake. Why would he want a dog like him? This couldn't be real," he thought to himself. But then 14:26 the cage opened and the warm hands of Sojiro lifted him up. Pulling the dog into his arms, he gave 92199 affection. 14:33 The look in his eyes threatened tears of joy, and he brought 92199 to the front. "How much for the dog?" Hashi asked. 14:40 Sojiro looked down and spoke. Sir, thank you. Hi raised a brow. Sojiro then 14:46 looked up at Hiashi and spoke. I know I'll probably sound really odd, but when you work around dogs so much, they begin 14:52 to mean something to you. He's been here for so long, and we were afraid we'd have to put him down. I was desperate to 14:58 find a place for him, even if I had to take him home myself. I just I wanted to 15:03 tell you thanks for this, and as a token of my appreciation, please let me pay for the dog for you. I only ask that you 15:10 keep him for good. Don't abandon him. Don't be mean to him. Love him as he deserves and give him a name worthy of 15:16 such a life. A number isn't enough. If you can promise me these things, I will pay for him for you." Hiashi smiled, 15:23 seeing the man's dedication to his love of animals. Hi pulled out his wallet. I promise you, and I'll pay for the dog. 15:31 After all, I'm sure you're not paid enough to just be giving someone particularly as monetarily blessed as I 15:37 a free dog. I'll pay and in return I ask you to do something. What is it, sir? 15:43 Sojiro asked. Keep caring for these animals. Every creature on God's earth deserves to be treated with love and 15:49 respect. And this world forgets kindness toward not only humans, but animals, 15:54 too. Both deserve to be loved and well treated. Continue doing what you're doing. Yes, sir. I promise. And so, 16:01 Hiashi put the money on the table and even bought a few toys for the dog as well. Sojurro and Ecoy walked Hiashi to 16:07 the door and waved goodbye to 92199 as he left. Sojurro wiping tears from his 16:12 eyes. Ecoy hugged him. I'm so happy for you Soji. Sojurro chuckled a bit. And 16:18 I'm happy for 9ines. I could see it in his eyes as he left. See what? Ecoy asked. Hope. And this was true. While 16:25 92199 was deathly terrified right now, there was a glimmer of something akin to 16:31 hope in his eyes. Doubt plagued his mind. What if they don't like me? What if I'm not good enough and they throw me 16:37 away? These thoughts were the thoughts of a dog who had spent too much time in his own head and not enough time 16:43 realizing what real love was. 92199 didn't have to be afraid. A promise had 16:48 already been made to him that he would be loved. And though life might be hard, and though surely failures would come 16:54 his way, one thing could never be changed. The promise that was made to him. And Hiashi was a man of his word, 17:02 if nothing else. Returning to the compound, Hiashi smiled, knowing that this might be just the thing his 17:08 daughter needed. Entering his home, he saw Hannabe running around the house like a crazy person. Covered in 17:13 band-aids, she was a bit accidentprone, but she never ever seemed to worry about it. She was a daredevil if Hiashi ever 17:20 saw one. But her older sister, Hinata, was a nervous wreck. She never intended to be, and she didn't want to be. She 17:27 shamed herself for what she called her weakness. But what she was, it was just baked into her from the beginning. Even 17:34 now, she was recovering from a panic attack. Under a blanket and curled up in her mother's arms, Hiashi's wife, a 17:40 woman named Kagaya, the inheritor of a name passed down from generation to generation from unknown origin, held her 17:47 daughter in her arms and shushed her. Hiashi entered the room. "Is she okay?" he asked. Kagayya nodded. "She just had 17:54 a little hiccup today, but she's strong. She'll get through it like always." Hi sat down beside her. My daughter is so 18:02 strong. I'm so proud of her, he said. Hinata offered a smile. He then spoke. 18:07 "Hinata?" "Yes, daddy," she asked. "I have a gift for you," he said. Hinata opened her eyes and looked over to see 18:14 the Sheba Enu. While such a gift often inspired excitement in children, Hinata had a couple wires crossed and her body 18:21 just didn't translate emotions the same way as others did, which caused a spike in cortisol. Maybe it was the fear of 18:27 responsibility, change, or failure. But she almost panicked again. She held it together. But then again, 92199 also 18:35 felt the same way. They were just two emotionally distraught individuals who 18:40 were afraid of getting hurt or accidentally hurting someone else. Hi noticed the look in Hinata's eyes. He 18:47 spoke. It's okay, Hina. I'll make sure to take care of the dog even when you can't. I bought this puppy so you could 18:53 enjoy having it, not to be afraid. So there's nothing to be afraid of. Wherever you fail, I'll pick up the 18:59 slack. Okay. Hinata swallowed and nodded. "Thank you. I love him," she said. She reached out to pet 92199. Her 19:06 hand touched the dog's head, but it trembled. "Maybe Hinata could sense it because she was so similar. Or maybe 19:13 intuition took over." She spoke. "He's so scared. Is he okay?" she asked. Hi 19:19 Ashi spoke. This puppy may have been abused by wherever he came from before getting to Kenko. He seems to have 19:26 anxiety issues. Hinata opened the blanket she was under to give more attention to the puppy. Her own hands 19:32 were trembling from her own anxiety, but she disregarded it as she reached out and gently lifted the Sheba up into her 19:38 arms before pulling him into her blanket to lay close to her chest. The same techniques her mother had just used for 19:44 her, Hinata was using for 92199. This was enough to cause Kagaya to smile. Hiashi smiled as well, knowing 19:51 his job was working. What's his name? How old is he? Hinata asked. According to the adoption papers, he's supposed to 19:57 be nearing 2 years old. And as for his name, well, they never gave him one. He's called 92199 for some reason, 20:05 though one of the store workers called him Nines. That's the closest thing to a name he's ever had. Hinata offered a 20:11 pout for a second. Everyone deserves a name, she said. A good one, too. She began to think. Do I need to come up 20:17 with a name here and now? She asked. No, you can take your time. I'm certain nines can wait until you have a name you 20:24 think will work for now. Just get used to him and let him get used to you. Hinatada began to pet 92199, giving him 20:31 love and affection as needed. Hannib ended up running in at some point, arms out like an airplane, which she didn't 20:37 pull in for entering the room, giving her a new bruise on each arm. Puppy, she shouted as she ran over. Hi lifted 20:44 Hannon up into the air. Slow down there, Speedy Gonzalez. This puppy is about as 20:49 special needs as your sister is. He needs time to get warmed up to you. Loud noises and quick movements may scare it. 20:56 If he gets scared, he'll bite me, right? Uh, I guess it's possible, Hiashi said. 21:01 I'm not scared of a doggy bite, Hannon said. I bite back, she said, spreading her arms and legs out in defiance. I'm 21:07 sure, but remember, this puppy is more scared of you than you are of it. So, if it bites you, uh, please don't bite it 21:14 back. Hannon smiled. Okay, Papa. I'll try not to upset it. Hi laughed and kissed her cheek. Good bean. He sat her 21:21 down. Share Niner with Hannabe. Okay, Hinata. Yes, Papa. Hi left the room to 21:26 continue his work. Hannabe knelt down. Puppy, she said in a crude whisper, 21:31 barely below actual talking. 92199 looked over at her out of the corner of his eye. She smiled and pushed her hand 21:38 out to his face. He turned his head away for a moment, though Hannon waited. 92199 looked over after a moment passed 21:44 and sniffed her hand. His tongue came out and licked the hand, drawing a giggle from Hannon, who proceeded to pet 21:50 his head. "What should we name him?" Hinata asked. Hannabe shrugged as she played with 92199's curly tail. "I like 21:57 how his tail curls up, and his fur is so pretty. It's golden." Hinata smiled. She continued to pet 92199, though the dog 22:05 soon jumped away from both of them and began to slink away to a corner to seemingly hide. "Hannabi and Hinata 22:11 followed." "Why is he hiding?" Hannabe asked. I think he's scared, Hinata said. Maybe he just needs some space. I'm sure 22:18 moving to a new home is scary for him, she said. Hinata knelt down, took her blanket off, and gently put it over 22:24 92199's shoulders before pulling away from him. 92199 watched as she stepped 22:30 back, all while inside his head, he questioned them. They were nothing like the other humans. Would they make him 22:36 fight, too? Put him in another cage? What was this warm thing on his shoulders? It felt nice, warm. It 22:44 smelled like the girl. Hinata looked to Hannon and spoke. "Since it's scared, let's focus on something else and give 22:49 him time to warm up to us." "Do you have a board game?" she asked. "Shogi?" Hannabe said. "Hannib, you don't know 22:55 how to play, Shogi." Hannabe shook her head. "No, but Mr. Shikaku was telling me about it when he brought it over to 23:01 beat dad. He left the board here and some instructions. I told him I was going to get good enough to beat him 23:06 when he came back, and by golly, I'm going to do it." And so they began to get it set up. 92199 watched from the 23:13 distance. They weren't mean. They didn't put him in a cage or force him to fight. They were doing their own thing. A thing 23:19 that 92199 was curious about. So he began to inch closer. As he did, they 23:25 sensed him but didn't really react. 92199 came closer until he was within 23:31 arms reach. Hinata continued to play the game. And then when it was Hannabe's turn, Hinata would slowly, gently reach 23:38 over and scratch behind 92199's ears. 92199 sat down by them. At dinner, they 23:44 decided to have ramen because it was easy to eat. One of Hinata's favorite foods and quick to make. As they ate, 23:51 Hiashi poured some food out for 92199. Nines took a couple sniffs and began to pick at it. Hannabe was going crazy on 23:58 her ramen. Then she pulled up the fishcake and began to laugh. "It looks like his tail," she said. pointing to 24:04 92199's curly appendage. Hiashi chuckled. Sure does. And that's when it 24:10 hit Hinata. As she lifted her fishcake up as well, she compared it to the dog's butt, which is honestly a weird 24:16 statement to say, but trust me, she's going somewhere with this fishcake. H 24:22 Naruto Maki. Then it hit her. Naruto. That's what we can name him. We can name 24:27 him Naruto. Hannabe giggled. Naruto. I like that name. Hi looked back. Naruto 24:34 would be a perfect name for him, he said. And from that point on, 92199's 24:39 name was officially Naruto. To be honest, getting used to the place was something new for him. He didn't feel 24:45 safe. He wondered how long it might last, but then slowly he did grow used 24:51 to it. Hi set up his bed in the same room as Hinata so the two could be near to one another during the night. Maybe 24:58 it might help them sleep. Well, it did. One night before going to bed though, Hinata sat down on her bed. As she sat 25:04 there, she let out a gasp. Naruto perked up. What had happened, he was unsure of, 25:10 but as she sat on her bed, her hands began to grip the sheets. As her breathing intensified, she began 25:16 breathing in and out really quickly, gripping at her chest. Tears came to her eyes as she sat there, and she wasn't 25:21 exactly sure why. Something was wrong. Naruto knew that much. What was happening, he wasn't sure, but he could 25:27 sense she was in emotional turmoil. He climbed up onto the bed with her as she kept breathing quickly. She was in the 25:33 middle of a sudden panic attack. Naruto didn't know what was wrong, but he came to her side anyway. Pushing his head 25:39 under her arms, he drew closer. He understood what was happening to her. He had experienced this on many occasions, 25:46 too, and he knew how hard it was. He pressed up against her chest and just breathed. And she instinctively began to 25:53 match. Her hug was tight and slightly uncomfortable. But this wasn't about Naruto right now. This was about Hinata. 26:00 He needed to steer her back. Nobody else was around right now, but he needed to calm her. Anxiety was torture. A lot of 26:08 people didn't understand. Sometimes you felt ashamed, like the weakest person in the world. An anxiety attack was your 26:15 weakest point suddenly lashing out, like a wound that achd at the most inopportune moments. It was horrifying 26:21 to go through. It felt like dying. It was okay. Anxiety was something many 26:26 people faced and some people just faced more. Tolerance wasn't something you could always choose. You could work up 26:33 to toughen it, sure, but there were limits to yourself. And Hinata understood those limits. She was trying 26:38 to get stronger, but sometimes it crept up on her like a lion in the savannah. She felt like a sheep in the jaws of 26:44 wolves. In moments like this, there was a helpless feeling in the air. But that was okay. And Naruto was just trying to 26:52 remind her of this. The world wasn't ending. Nobody was dying. This was just a moment that would soon pass. It was 26:59 just a moment. A single moment in a wonderful life filled with joy and fun. 27:04 In and out. In and out. Just keep breathing. It's okay. You're just scared. It'll pass. These were the 27:10 thoughts within Naruto's head. He didn't say them out loud, but Hinata understood. She understood those 27:16 thoughts. So, she kept breathing. As calm washed over her, fatigue soon followed. And that was okay, too. She 27:23 was in bed. It was night and she was getting ready to sleep. Naruto was here. And if he had to stay here all night 27:30 long, he would. He understood what it was like to go through this. To be overwhelmed, to tremble, unable to catch 27:36 your breath, and feel like you were losing your grip on everything. Everything was okay. These two 27:42 eventually fell asleep together in bed. Hi came in, covered them up, and turned out the light. He had no clue what just 27:49 transpired, what his daughter had just experienced, or what Naruto had done to help her. Naruto had been scared 27:55 himself. But as he helped, he felt himself being helped as well. It was as if suddenly Naruto knew why he was born, 28:03 why God let him suffer for so long, experience so much pain and suffering. 28:08 He was born to help others who were suffering. He was born to bring peace to others who were in crisis. He was a 28:16 peacemaker and a keeper of the heart. And this poor sweet girl who had opened her heart and home to him now needed him 28:23 to open his heart as well. And Naruto answered, "His heart, as scarred and 28:28 weak as it was, chose to open up for her. There was always the chance that she would hurt his heart, harm him. That 28:34 was the risk of love. Sometimes you offered your love and sometimes someone else would stomp on it. Sometimes they 28:41 would dismiss it. But was that any excuse not to open your heart? Right here, right now, he opened his. And it 28:48 was received. Received by someone who needed it. This one moment. It had made 28:53 every scar worth it. It had made every troubled breath and tremble he'd ever faced worth it. Naruto was overcome with 29:01 an odd feeling, a euphoria, knowing that if his life ended tomorrow, this one moment made every second of his life 29:08 worth it. His life was worth all the suffering just to get to this moment here and show the love she needed when 29:15 she needed it most. For the first time in a long time, Naruto was okay. Better 29:20 than okay. He was where he was meant to be. And as Hinata hugged the dog, she 29:26 spoke. "I love you," she whispered. And it was true. This dog was more than an 29:31 animal. Tonight, it became a family member. To her, he was family. And as they cuddled, the fear left. it went 29:38 away. It was the best night's sleep either of them had in a long time. And this was only the first of many, the 29:44 first night in a long life of togetherness the two would have. Naruto may not have been a fighter, as that 29:50 Doberman proved. But he was a lover, and he loved hard. All of his suffering was a teacher, and he'd been training for 29:56 this very moment. And for every moment to come after this, come anxiety and pain, fear, and sorrow, life would go 30:04 on, and they would be okay. because Naruto was going to be with her for life. They were together for life. And 30:11 for the first time ever, Naruto was excited to see what life had in store for him. 30:17 And that is a wrap. At least for now. I would very much like to explore this 30:23 concept further. I want to know what life will be like after this. What kinds of adventures Hinata and Naruto might go 30:29 on. I bet they'll have grand adventures, especially considering that Hinata in canon becomes a shinobi. Imagine the 30:36 troubles and strengths of a shinobi with an anxiety disorder and her loyal ninken. Maybe Naruto will be a fighter 30:42 after all. And I bet getting to meet Akamaru will give Naruto his own little friend. Oh my soul, I so want to do 30:49 that. But I guess we'll just have to wait and see how the tides of viewership role.
