0:00 Ethan Crumbley was a disturbed child who 0:02 expressed many Sinister warning signs 0:04 but without attentive parents all of 0:06 those concerns raised by teachers and 0:08 neighbors would fall on deaf ears as the 0:11 months of neglect and being left alone 0:12 at home turned into years an unchecked 0:15 pattern of terrible Behavior became 0:17 normalized and although Ethan would 0:19 confide in his best friend and mother 0:21 about his dark thoughts these 0:22 opportunities once again slipped by 0:25 without intervention and sadly by the 0:27 time real effort was being made to help 0:29 this Twisted teen it would be all too 0:32 late and it came at the cost of multiple 0:37 lives welcome or welcome back to Coffee 0:40 House crime folks my name is Adrien and 0:42 today we're looking at a case that just 0:44 seems to get worse the longer it goes on 0:46 that being the outrageous case of Ethan 0:48 crumblyy a young kid not even legally 0:50 old enough to drive would become the 0:52 center of a very dark story that ended 0:54 in the loss of four innocent lives by 0:57 the way Coffee House crime is all about 0:58 True Crime strange and chilling stories 1:01 so if you like please grab yourself a coffee pull 1:27 up a seat and get ready for the Deep 1:29 dive this is the case of Ethan 1:40 Crumbley welcome back folks and welcome Michigan 1:42 to the state of Michigan interesting 1:44 fact here but although the state's 1:46 capital Detroit is well known for its 1:48 high crime rate did you know that 1:50 Michigan was actually the first American 1:52 state to abolish the death penalty in 1:54 1847 apparently this was due to way too 1:57 many wrongful convictions being passed 1:59 through the court at the time thus 2:01 unfortunately costing dozens of innocent 2:03 people their lives on the brighter side 2:05 of Life Michigan is well known as the 2:07 birthplace of both Madonna and Stevie 2:09 Wonder making it quite the star studded 2:11 state it is also famously known as Motor 2:14 City due to its importance in the 2:16 American automotive industry being the 2:18 birthplace of Ford Chrysler and General 2:20 Motors for today's case though we find 2:23 ourselves 40 Mi north of the big city in 2:25 the small Township called Oxford with a 2:28 population of 3,500 resid 2:30 this small town doesn't have that much 2:32 to offer but being in Rural America it's 2:34 a naturally quirky place in its very own 2:36 right and holds several strange events 2:38 throughout the year including scarecrow 2:41 competitions now if only the murderer in 2:43 today's case focused on being one 2:44 himself because I'm sure he would have 2:46 become the state champion anyway in this 2:49 small Township it is here that we find 2:51 the small and allegedly dysfunctional The Crumbley family 2:53 crumbly family consisting of mother 2:55 Jennifer Father James and their 2:57 15-year-old son Ethan now although Ethan 3:00 will be the main focus of this story to 3:02 fully understand the case we must first 3:04 look at his upbringing because sadly as 3:06 we will soon find out his parents were 3:09 not exactly the best in the 3:12 neighborhood throughout their own 3:14 adulthoods both James and Jennifer had 3:16 several run-ins with the law both for 3:18 fraudulent checks and for driving Under 3:20 the Influence don't let this fool you 3:22 though as famously alcoholism transcends 3:25 throughout all classes and James and 3:27 Jennifer had well-paying jobs and 3:29 business management 3:30 now I couldn't dig up anything on the 3:31 check fraud but with these charges 3:33 confirmed we know that both of them 3:35 weren't the most humble of earners out 3:37 there but their charges for driving 3:38 Under the Influence happened in the year 3:40 2005 just one year before Ethan was born 3:42 on April the 28th 2006 and suddenly I'm 3:46 starting to feel quite old Although our 3:49 case today occurs in Michigan Ethan was 3:51 born in Atlantic Beach Florida but the 3:53 family wouldn't live here for long when 3:55 Ethan was just a baby business would 3:57 require the family to move to isaar 3:59 Washington it wasn't long after this 4:01 that the young Ethan would develop some 4:03 rather strange interests for a child 4:05 only 8 years old especially ones 4:07 featuring a lot of blood and gore which 4:10 was certainly not appropriate for a 4:11 developing child of his age he also 4:14 began to play violent video games from 4:16 very early on namely the first person 4:18 shooter Call of Duty and while I don't 4:20 believe video games make people violent 4:22 I don't think COD zombies at the age of 4:24 10 would do anyone any favors I mean as 4:28 with many parents keeping their children 4:29 occupied with screens make their lives 4:31 much easier so James and Jennifer would 4:34 buy these movies in games and just leave 4:36 them to it surely all of this was 4:38 harmless right in the year 2014 and when 4:42 Ethan was only 9 years old the family 4:44 moved across the country yet again to 4:46 finally settle in the township of Oxford 4:48 which of course is where the rest of our 4:50 story today takes place and as you can 4:52 likely tell moving around at a tender 4:54 age may have taken a great toll on Ethan 4:57 moving around between towns and cities 4:59 meant that Ethan never truly got to make 5:01 friends with people at school and could 5:03 never really feel secure at home and 5:05 this made a a depressed young boy at a 5:07 very impressional point in childhood 5:09 while living in Oxford neighbors noticed 5:12 that Jennifer and James would often be 5:13 out of the house at the same time 5:15 leaving Ethan to fend for himself at 5:17 home this worryingly included him having 5:20 to make his own meals and he was 5:22 sometimes left all alone overnight I 5:24 mean to be fair a few hours Home Alone 5:26 for any 13-year-old boy can be 5:28 considered a great r Treat you can 5:30 finally do whatever you want in the 5:32 freedom of your own space however the 5:34 length and frequency of which Ethan was 5:36 left to his own devices from the 5:38 inexperienced age of 10 was anything but 5:40 normal or healthy he didn't even have a 5:42 phone in case of emergencies so if 5:45 anything went wrong or he got into 5:47 trouble he would have to rely on his 5:48 neighbors for help which he frequently 5:50 did all in the meanwhile his parents 5:52 were either at work or at local pubs and 5:54 bars in the evening due to his reclusive 5:56 nature Ethan's academic life 5:58 deteriorated throughout his teenage 6:00 years at the age of 14 he attended 6:03 Oxford High School which is just one 6:05 year before our tragic event takes place 6:07 during his time at Oxford High School 6:09 Ethan fit into a group of Ables and 6:11 outcasts and never had much luck 6:13 blending with more popular or 6:15 academically gifted kids in this time 6:17 frame he was particularly close to one 6:19 classmate due to his age I'll be keeping 6:21 his identity private but for 6:23 storytelling purposes I'll nickname him 6:27 Victor Ethan regular confided in Victor Red flags 6:30 throughout his textt messages talking to 6:32 him about how lonely he felt and how he 6:34 felt that life had no meaning however 6:36 over time these text messages became 6:39 darker and far more concerning Ethan 6:42 eventually expressed his desire for 6:43 violence and even confessed that he 6:45 trapped tortured and killed baby bird in 6:47 his garden and what's worse he seemed 6:50 proud about it now you may have already 6:53 figured that this was a very strong 6:54 warning sign of things to come because 6:57 famously Killers start their murderous 6:58 careers on animals since the two were 7:00 edgy teenagers they seem to just cruy 7:03 laugh about it through messages but what 7:05 Ethan didn't tell Victor is that he'd 7:07 actually kept the head of that bird in a 7:09 jar under his bed and just a few days 7:11 later he would even bring this head into 7:13 school and then plant it into the girl's 7:15 bathroom leaving the school traumatized 7:17 by the discovery now you would have 7:19 thought that this was maybe the first 7:21 public warning sign right by March of 7:24 2021 Ethan had well and truly lost it 7:27 messages sent to Victor were becoming 7:29 increasingly violent some of those 7:31 messages are so screwed up that I've had 7:33 to blur some of them out but parts of 7:35 those messages include the following 7:37 just looking at them in their eyes as 7:39 they look back at you while they know 7:41 their life is about to end so young the 7:43 best feeling just thinking about the 7:45 torturing and the screaming it fills the 7:48 void whenever I see a little kid about a 7:50 year old or a little more I want to pick 7:52 them up and run off with them then 7:54 torture them before throwing them off a 7:56 cliff in the spring of 2021 e Ean began 7:59 to confide in his mother but this was 8:02 never in person either because he liked 8:04 to keep his parents at arms length or 8:06 because he rarely had the opportunity to 8:08 speak with them instead he sent her 8:10 various text messages over several 8:12 months and found within these messages 8:14 were shocking revelations about the 8:16 family home at 6:03 p.m. on March the 8:19 17th 2021 he sent his mother the 8:22 following okay the house is now haunted 8:25 some weird [ __ ] just happened and now 8:27 I'm scared I've got some videos and 8:29 picture of the demon it is throwing 8:31 balls I'm not joking and it [ __ ] up 8:33 the kitchen I'm going outside for a 8:35 while can you at least text back his 8:37 mother never responded to these messages 8:39 but phone records show that she did 8:41 message a husband about Ethan's Behavior 8:43 deeming it possibly could be attention 8:45 seeking this is entirely understandable 8:48 by the way seeing how the young boy was 8:50 almost always left to his own devices 8:52 personally speaking I think it's awful 8:54 how she never even responded to her son 8:57 these interactions would continue in the 8:58 coming month months and he complained 9:00 that all of the strange things in the 9:02 house only happened when he was alone 9:04 apparently the demon would often appear 9:06 to terrorize him by trashing rooms and 9:08 flinging objects around the house but at 9:10 least in my mind this boy was just 9:13 desperate to have some attention from 9:14 his 9:16 parents simultaneously the violent 9:19 messages to Victor carried on and 9:21 whether this was some messed up form of 9:22 attention seeking or something far more 9:25 Sinister nobody knew at the time however 9:27 what we do know at this time is that 9:29 Ethan's parents were absolutely aware of 9:31 his mental health that was deteriorating 9:33 throughout the following months the son 9:35 was willing to lie disobey and even 9:37 become aggressive and phone records 9:39 between Jennifer and James confirm that 9:41 not only did they know about this but 9:43 they spoke about it too now these two 9:45 clearly deserve a parent of the Year 9:46 reward because despite all of these 9:48 concerning details they decided to grant 9:50 him the birthday present that he'd 9:52 always wanted a firearm I don't know 9:54 what to say here of course that is 9:56 precisely what any mentally Disturbed 9:58 15-year-old child child needs a firearm 10:01 Jesus and with signs of violence and 10:03 dysfunction so apparent it astounds me 10:06 that Jennifer and James would go ahead 10:07 and Grant Ethan his wish for a firearm 10:10 on November the 27th Ethan and his 10:12 mother went to Accurate shooting range 10:13 to try out his new toy his parents were 10:16 actually regulars there and the shooting 10:18 range deemed itself to be a 10:19 familyfriendly establishment hosting 10:21 birthday parties and even Mother's Day 10:23 events and so after using more than 100 10:26 rounds of his new 6h hour 9mm a handgun 10:29 and even teaching his mom how to shoot 10:32 Ethan put his gun carefully back in its 10:34 case and the pair then returned home 10:36 with it it was only 2 days later on 10:38 November the 29th that Jennifer received 10:41 an angry phone call from Skool 10:43 apparently her son had been looking up 10:45 ammunition during class which no 10:47 surprise alarmed his teacher now 10:49 shooting is a common Hobby in America 10:51 and is nothing out of the ordinary but 10:53 Ethan was a 15-year-old boy showing 10:56 worrying signs of antisocial behavior 10:58 and a rather strong obsession with 11:00 violence and unfortunately it is clear 11:03 that his parents did not take any of 11:05 this seriously enough and while looking 11:07 at the text messages sent between 11:08 Jennifer and her son immediately after 11:11 this phone call we can tell that she 11:12 didn't give a single [ __ ] at all the 11:15 messages read this is nothing I should 11:17 get in trouble for did you at least show 11:19 them a pick of your new gun no I didn't 11:21 show them the pick my God I only told 11:23 them I went to the range with you on 11:25 Saturday it was a harmless act L I'm not 11:28 mad you have to learn not to get caught 11:30 I know 11:34 LOL Although Ethan's Newfound hobby 11:36 could perhaps excuse his short-term 11:38 Obsession his parents both knew that 11:40 this wasn't a oneoff being honest with 11:42 you the way that Jennifer responded is 11:44 at best negligent and at worst 11:46 borderline Psychopathic however what 11:49 they didn't know is during all of this 11:51 time Ethan was actually planning 11:52 something far more Sinister and just one November 30th, 2021 11:55 day after getting in trouble at school 11:57 and his mother carelessly brushing It 11:58 Off the township of Oxford would learn 12:00 in the most tragic of ways 12:04 possible November the 30th 2021 to most 12:08 it was just another typical day in 12:10 Oxford people had readily made their way 12:12 to work and children were in their 12:14 classes at school however as the day 12:17 wore on and lunchtime approached Oxford 12:19 Police Department received the first of 12:21 more than 100 incoming calls and all of 12:24 them were saying the same thing reports 12:27 of an active shooter at Oxford High 12:29 School officers hastily responded to the 12:32 calls and were dispatched just 1 minute 12:34 after the first call at 12:52 p.m. when 12:36 they arrived at the scene they found 12:38 panicked students sprinting out of the 12:40 school and seeking Refuge wherever 12:42 possible reports emerged of a gunman 12:44 entering the bathroom and returning with 12:46 a firearm before opening fire at other 12:48 students in the hallways after students 12:50 started running he continued down the 12:52 hallway firing into classrooms and at 12:55 students unable to escape when students 12:57 began to barricade them themselves in 12:59 the classrooms the asant tried to trick 13:01 them by saying it was now safe to come 13:03 out taking place on the southern 13:05 quadrant of the school a school security 13:07 officer was already trying to convince 13:09 him to stop and the gunman in question 13:12 was of course none other than Ethan 13:14 Crumbley when additional officers 13:15 arrived Ethan saw no way of continuing 13:18 his Rampage as a result he surrendered 13:21 and upon arrest officers found seven 13:23 rounds in a 6-hour pistol and two 15 13:26 round magazines on his person 13:29 First Responders were quick to scout the Aftermath 13:31 school for any injuries and upon their 13:33 investigation it was discovered that 13:35 Ethan's Rampage had resulted in seven 13:38 injuries and three fatalities 13:40 heartbreakingly all of those dead were 13:43 young students amongst the fatalities 13:45 were 17-year-old Madison Baldwin 13:47 16-year-old Tate Meyer and 14-year-old 13:50 hannent Juliana tragically 17-year-old 13:53 Justin Schilling who was mortally 13:55 injured at the scene would later succumb 13:57 to his injuries at hospital four young 13:59 lives were taken by the selfish and 14:01 violent actions of one of their peers 14:03 who now at this point in time was still 14:06 breathing himself no doubt though 14:08 whether Dead or Alive Ethan Crumbley had 14:10 thrown away his life too and now with 14:13 investigators building a dark and 14:15 harrowing recollection of his atrocities 14:17 it was time for Ethan to face trial any 14:22 on behal of Ethan crley thank you and 14:24 Miss 14:25 Melby goodno your honor cour appointed 14:29 guardian and light on behalf of Ethan 14:31 Crumley thank you and Mr Crumbley could 14:33 you state your full name for us 14:36 please he Robert Crumbley thank you Mr 14:39 Crumbley if at any time you cannot hear 14:41 or understand myself or any of the 14:43 parties to the proceeding will you 14:45 please let the court 14:46 know yes ma'am after a thorough 14:49 investigation through the school 14:50 surveillance footage physical evidence Recalling the incident 14:52 at the crime scene and an exhaustive 14:54 search of the family property 14:56 authorities could accurately depict the 14:58 actions taken on that fateful day it 15:00 turns out that Jennifer Crumbley had 15:02 actually received a phone call from 15:03 school that very same morning teachers 15:06 were understandably growing concerned 15:07 about his behavior and this was for a 15:10 very good reason too they had found 15:12 disturbing drawings scribbled all over 15:14 one of his homework assignments these 15:16 drawings included a picture of a gun 15:18 pointing at the words the thoughts won't 15:20 stop above a crudely scribbled out help 15:22 me other phrases were also scribbled out 15:25 such as my life is useless the world is 15:27 dead and blood everywhere he further 15:30 muddied his motive though by adding ohos 15:32 rocks I love my life so much and we're 15:35 all friends here unknown to everyone at 15:38 the time but at the time of drawing this 15:40 Ethan had already planned out his method 15:42 of attack and as for his firearm and the 15:45 ammunition that was already in his bag 15:47 his parents were called almost 15:49 immediately after teachers noticed these 15:51 drawings but when James and Jennifer saw 15:53 the drawings they didn't bother to tell 15:55 teachers that they' recently purchased 15:56 their son a gun the school in insisted 15:58 that his parents seek counseling within 16:00 48 Hours of this meeting and if they 16:03 failed to do so they would call Child 16:05 Protective Services somewhat annoyed 16:07 about this suggestion Ethan's parents 16:09 refused to take their caution seriously 16:12 and furthermore failed to take their son 16:13 home that morning and tragically that 16:17 would be a grave 16:19 oversight at 12:50 p.m. Ethan decided to 16:23 execuse his plan he was caught on a 16:25 surveillance camera entering a bathroom 16:26 with a backpack only to one minute later 16:29 armed with a pistol and several 16:31 magazines prowling the corridor he came 16:34 across his first victim Phoebe Arthur 16:36 who he heartlessly shot in the face now 16:38 thankfully she would survive and even 16:41 make a full recovery it is no surprise 16:43 that she was his first Target and we'll 16:45 get to this reason later Ethan proceeded 16:48 to roam the corridors taking shots at 16:50 fling students who were passing between 16:52 classes luckily though many of his shots 16:54 would miss his targets staff and 16:57 students had thankfully been trained for 16:59 this kind of outbreak a voice over the 17:01 school intercom assured students and 17:02 teachers that this was not a drill and 17:05 everyone adopted the Alice technique to 17:07 fend off their as salant for those who 17:09 don't know Alice is an acronym meaning 17:11 alert lock down inform counter and 17:13 evacuate both students and teachers 17:16 alike were very quick to act alerting 17:18 those around them locking and 17:20 barricading the doors staying as far 17:22 away from Windows as possible and 17:24 evacuating wherever they could Ethan 17:26 continued in his mission even trying 17:28 trying to shoot through doors and 17:29 windows once the corridors were empty he 17:32 entered another bathroom desperately 17:34 trying to find more victims one student 17:36 who was hiding in the bathroom stall 17:38 recalled hearing a gun [ __ ] outside of 17:40 it but thankfully Ethan missed that 17:43 storm the teens Rampage lasted for 17:45 approximately 5 minutes before two 17:47 officers apprehended him but sadly in 17:49 that time frame he had already claimed 17:51 four lives and injured seven more at 17:54 1:22 p.m. just 7 minutes after reports 17:57 of the shooting emerged Ed Ethan 17:59 received a message from his mother 18:00 saying Ethan don't do it but Jennifer 18:03 like always was far too late to make a More worrying clues 18:07 difference only 15 minutes later at 1:37 18:10 p.m. a call to 911 was made by James 18:13 Crumbley reporting that a sixh hour 18:15 pistol was missing from the property and 18:17 that his son was possibly the Oxford 18:19 High School shooter a deeper dive into 18:21 Ethan's personal life held some 18:23 extremely worrying clothes Ethan left 18:26 his bag inside the bathroom he entered 18:28 just before his spree began and when 18:30 officers found this bag they found 18:32 several concerning details amongst the 18:34 items detectives found a journal and 18:37 inside was the tale of a deeply 18:39 Disturbed individual notable Pages 18:41 include a checklist of things to bring 18:43 on the day of his crime and next to this 18:45 list Ethan wrote I wonder what life in 18:48 prison will be like and I have lost all 18:50 hope in life another page details his 18:53 desire to kill girls and record the 18:55 entire event so that the victim's family 18:57 and friends would have have to see it in 18:59 court it also appears that Ethan had 19:01 somewhat of a vendetta against girls an 19:04 Insel in Disguise if you will another 19:06 page shows an illustration of a girl 19:08 with a gun to the back of her head with 19:10 the message the first victim has to be a 19:12 pretty girl with a future so that she 19:14 can suffer just like me this may 19:17 indicate why he selected Phoebe to be 19:19 his first victim in his journal he also 19:21 says last time I had a mental breakdown 19:24 my parents were out of town so I 19:26 murdered a family of five baby birds my 19:29 grades are failing my parents have each 19:31 other we have no money and I have zero 19:34 help for my mental problems and it's 19:36 causing me to shoot up the 19:43 skull throughout his journals it is 19:45 quite clear to see that Ethan was an 19:47 exceptionally mentally disturbed child 19:49 and Not only was he aware of this he was 19:52 also aware of the consequences that his 19:53 actions would have Ethan was fully 19:55 coherent regarding his intentions and 19:57 how he'd set set out to achieve them and 19:59 in addition to this he had even 20:01 highlighted how he would surrender to 20:03 police once they arrived now I would 20:05 show you the rest of his 22-page journal 20:07 but time aside it is the edgiest slop 20:10 that I've ever encountered and simply 20:12 isn't worth your energy but saying that 20:14 these extensive plans and drawings 20:15 alongside Ethan's coherence would make 20:17 it very easy for the prosecution and so 20:20 moving forward Ethan Crumbley was faced 20:22 with 24 separate charges which included 20:25 four counts of Murder in the first 20:26 degree and even Terror ISM moving into Legal Proceedings 20:29 the legal proceedings of this case you 20:31 would think this would be a rather open 20:33 and shut story but first serious 20:36 discussions over Ethan's mental 20:37 well-being psychology upbringing and age 20:40 had to be made the prosecution presented 20:43 his journal entries the surveillance 20:44 footage and other crucial evidence not 20:47 yet discussed which included a recording 20:49 Ethan had made with his mobile phone 20:51 just one day before the shooting her 20:53 name 20:54 is Ethan 20:57 Crum aged 21:02 15 and I'm going to be an ex school 21:05 shooter I thought about this a 21:09 lot I can't stop thinking about 21:12 it like it's constantly in my head 21:17 every conversation I have with 21:21 someone no matter what I'm thinking 21:24 about it and I can't get it out it's 21:27 currently 21:29 November 21:32 29th 2021 21:35 10:05 p.m. the school I'm shooting up is 21:38 Oxford High School I'm in 10th Grade 21:40 there I've always been 21:42 fascinated like guns when I was a kid 21:46 and always wanted to join the 21:49 forces the SWAT and I was third 21:52 grade Navy Seals when I was a 21:57 fourth Marines fifth or seventh Army 22:02 Rangers and I never thought of a career 22:05 never had 22:06 motivation I kept lying to myself 22:10 that there is something out there for me 22:15 Ethan ranted about how the school system 22:17 was messed up that getting a career in 22:19 life is nothing but brainwashing that 22:21 life has no meaning and that he couldn't 22:23 learn to be happy knowing that and then 22:26 in his own words he confessed his St 22:28 intentions when the bat rings to n f 22:31 hour tomorrow October 30th November 22:35 30th 22:36 2021 going 22:41 to walk to the dividend between the boys 22:44 and the girls' 22:46 bathroom I will have my black jacket 22:50 on and I will walk behind someone and I 22:54 will shoot a bullet in their school you 22:57 that's my first 22:59 victim I'm going to open fire on 23:01 everyone in that hallway the hallways 23:03 are too 23:05 Gena I will try and hit as many people 23:08 as I can I will reload and I will find 23:12 people hiding I'm going to teach them a 23:14 lesson I understand that I'm going to 23:16 prison for this Michigan doesn't have a 23:19 death penalty I don't want to die so 23:21 isn't I see I want to kill other people 23:23 I do not want to 23:25 die I realize how valuable life is 23:28 and I realized I broke the code of 23:30 what's happening I broke the 23:34 code I realize what is actually 23:39 happening and these 23:42 people they don't have the capabilities 23:44 of understanding 23:45 it I'm someone to teach the entire 23:48 nation and the 23:51 world of what's happening and how we're 23:53 on to break a downfall on October the 23:55 24th 2022 and and with the overwhelming 23:59 amount of evidence stacked against him 24:00 Ethan Crumbley pleaded guilty to all 24 24:03 charges this consisted of one count of 24:06 terrorism seven counts of assault with 24:08 intent to murder 12 counts of possession 24:10 of a firearm in the commission of a 24:12 felony and four counts of first-degree 24:14 murder Ethan would also withdraw his 24:16 Insanity plea insisting that he spends 24:19 the rest of his life in prison Ethan's 24:21 trial aside there is one unique element Ethan's Parents... 24:23 behind this story and you're probably 24:25 already thinking about that too with 24:27 Ethan's parents being so negligent 24:29 towards his behavior what exactly 24:31 happened to them well no surprise there 24:34 was a huge public outcry to see them 24:36 held responsible for their son's actions 24:38 and as of today I'm pleased to announce 24:40 that they have lost their appeal to be 24:41 exempt from prosecution this means that 24:44 our parents of the Year Jennifer and 24:45 James crumblyy will face trial on 24:47 charges of involuntary manslaughter it 24:50 kind of makes sense if you ask me being 24:52 responsible for your child's well-being 24:54 includes their mental health and the 24:55 consequences of neglecting it and let's 24:58 not forget that they were aware of the 24:59 many glaring red flags and not only did 25:02 they decide to dismiss all of them but 25:04 they also purchased him a firearm 25:06 Jennifer even posted it on Facebook 25:09 stating the gun was indeed Ethan's and 25:12 not only that but it turns out that the 25:14 family didn't even own a safe to store 25:16 it in either despite their charges of 25:18 involuntary manslaughter they still 25:20 refused to take their grave situation 25:22 seriously and after failing to show up 25:24 to their arraignment US Marshals sent 25:26 out a wanted notice 25:28 this resulted in their faces being put 25:30 all over the local news with a $110,000 25:33 reward for any information that would 25:35 ultimately lead to their arrest after 25:37 being on the Run since December the 2nd 25:39 2021 it only took 2 days for officers to 25:43 track them down a business owner 25:45 approximately 40 mil away spotted their 25:47 own car in his parking lot surprise 25:49 surprise but both pleaded not guilty and 25:52 as a result their bail was set at an 25:53 alarming 25:55 $500,000 making it very unlikely that 25:57 these two will see any freedom before 25:59 their trials are Remembering Hana, Tate, Justin, & Madisyn. 26:02 conducted the consequences of Ethan's 26:05 actions and the measures that others 26:07 could have taken to prevent it are just 26:09 as terrible as they are clear and at the 26:11 hands of negligence carelessness poor 26:13 mental health and Malice four innocent 26:16 students lost their lives Madison 26:18 Baldwin is remembered as someone with 26:20 the purest of Hearts known to be the Cal 26:22 in a storm and her mother believes that 26:24 she was so exceptional in this world 26:26 that she needed to be another Tate Meyer 26:29 is remembered as a hero amid Ethan's 26:31 attack he ran right toward him and died 26:33 while trying to protect others the young 26:35 man was always a team player right to 26:38 the very end with his final tweet saying 26:40 I had a great time at the game yesterday 26:43 thank you Justin Schilling had a 26:44 gentleness and a caring way about him 26:47 and is remembered for his kindness to 26:48 others an organ donor and a fierce golf 26:51 player in the same swing his family miss 26:53 him terribly Hannah and Juliana was a 26:56 fantastic kid who filled her family's 26:58 hearts with her infectious laugh honesty 27:01 kindheartedness and biting wit and just 27:04 like the others she also leaves a 27:06 massive void in the wake of her death 27:08 hopefully their family and friends can 27:09 now find solace in knowing that the one 27:11 who took the loved ones away from them 27:13 is now spending the rest of his life 27:15 Behind Bars and as for his parents well 27:18 there's a quote that I find very fitting 27:20 to end this story when asked if she 27:22 could say just one thing to Jennifer and 27:24 James Madison's mom said the following 27:27 I'm sorry that you didn't want to be 27:29 parents that you didn't want to take 27:31 care of your child but as a result you 27:33 took mine right away from 27:37 me and with those powerful words I think Outro 27:40 that pretty much comes to the end of the 27:42 video folks I don't think I could say it 27:44 any better than she did and on that note 27:46 folks thank you so much for watching 27:47 today I really do appreciate your 27:49 company if you found this case 27:51 the main 27:59 question here is how do you think 28:01 Ethan's parents handled a situation and 28:04 would you say it's all Ethan's fault or 28:06 just as equally theirs and just a quick 28:08
