heavily regulated to certain areas

a massive problem in this country I mean

women aren't even allowed to cycle here

be it for commuting Leisure or exercise

Pakistani culture views this as

Unbecoming and overly sexual and as you

can likely guess this ban is not just

cycling but driving and many other

things too more than 50% of all women in

Pakistan lack basic education and a

scene of lower status than men in fact

Pakistan is even considered to be the

sixth most dangerous country in the

world for women moving forward this

country has deep religious ties with the

the population identifies as Muslim here

in the nation it has a reputation for

boasting the highest standards of living

in the country a predominant demographic

within this city comprises of many

individuals belonging to both the middle

and the upper classes and sophisticated

Condominiums and opulent public

amenities dot the urban canvas and

amongst this wealthy backdrop we can

find our central figure in today's case

that being a 27-year-old woman named no

despite her desire to stay behind an

island and forge her own path she

so yet and so with a heavy heart she had

to return back to Pakistan with her

now as you can imagine after growing up

in Ireland moving back to Pakistan was

quite a culture shock the societal

expectations for women in Pakistan

differed quite significantly and this

presented a massive challenge for no and

the rest of her family especially as she

approached the age of her own

independence thankfully being the
5:51
daughter of a diplomat their perspective

and expectations were quite different to
5:56
Pakistani standards as a result she had

the the support of her entire family in

almost anything that she wished to

pursue and so moving into her young

adult years no decided to focus on her

own creative abilities driven by her

passion for fashion nor sought to weave

her creativity by designing clothes she

also expressed her talents through

creating vibrant murals which neatly

contributed towards the community's

creative Beauty amid her Pursuits it is

important to note that no was a widely

cherished and admired young woman and it

seems through her many qualities that

they caught the eye of a 30-year-old man

lived in Islam Abad they crossed paths

in the year 2018 we don't know how they

met but regardless this encounter led to

a friendship and eventually a

relationship however in the unfolding

chapters of their new relationship nor

didn't actually know what kind of man

she was getting close to now Zahir was

the son of a very wealthy man and was
6:57
also a US national who spent most of his
6:59
time time in the United States and the

United Kingdom but the question is what

made him come back to Pakistan

unfortunately it turns out that Zahir

does not have a clean criminal record

and actually his charges Span in both

the United States and the United Kingdom

charged in the US and the UK for abusive

behavior and sexual harassment he would

go one step further and be deported from

the UK after being held on charges of

sexual assault but following his

deportation Zahir took deliberate

measures to try and conceal his previous

convictions and yeah he was pretty

successful in doing so because Noah had

terrible history it is likely that no

would have run for the hills and

remember with the Himalayas Pakistan has

very steep hills anyway both hailing

concerns were never really a problem for

for no because she could finally pursue

her artistic capabilities on the other

hand though Zahir worked within the

family business and would eventually

inherit his father's business

relationship were actually very far from

ideal Zahir exhibited a rather short

fuse and frequently lost his temper at

times this temper would even escalate to

three long years which as you can

aggression toxicity tragically though

this tumultuous Journey would come to a

shocking and terrific end an end which

would cost one of them their
July 20th, 2021...

lives in the early hours of July the

20th 2021 an unusual silence enveloped

the mukadam household nor had been

missing for 2 days now and although it

wasn't uncommon for her to spend a night

away the extended absence had heightened

concern within the family departing from

the family home 2 days prior at 9:00

p.m. on the evening of July the 18th no

was assumed to be going to her

boyfriend's residence and was expected

to return the following day despite this

she never actually returned home two

whole days had passed as the clock

ticked past 1:00 a.m. anxiety began to

set in no's father attempted to reach

her by sending multiple text messages

but sadly none were met with the

response and in addition to this all

calls made from her sister would go

distinctly marked by a sense of panic

the details of this message do remain

undisclosed but it is known that shortly

after this message the family received a

call from Zahir his demeanor always

struck them as strange but this time he

seemed distinctly different he

repeatedly mentioned that he hadn't seen

no that day and even more suspiciously

he emphasized that she was not currently

at his house however later that day on

the evening of July the 20th The Madam

family received some devastating news

their daughter had been found dead in a

wealthy neighborhood home and of course

it belonged to Zahir Jaffer the police

had become alerted to the situation

after a call was made to the nearby

mental health facility named therapy

works the call reported a man who seemed

to be in the middle of a mental

breakdown and that furthermore he posed
11:33
a threat not just to himself but to
11:35
others around him

too responding to the call police
Aftermath

encountered a very harrowing scene at

the residence after arriving Zahir tried

to attack them with a knife therefore

leading to his restraint and eventually

his arrest and after stepping inside of

the property the authorities realized

that this incident was far worse than

they anticipated the master bedroom bore

Witness to a very gruesome crime with

blood stains on the walls dresser and

floor Norm Madam's lifeless body had

multiple stab wounds and tragically she

had been decapitated a large kitchen

knife which was identified as the murder

weapon was recovered from the crime

scene therefore leading to zahir's

arrest for the murder of his girlfriend

in the aftermath the authorities faced

the daunting task of reconstructing the

crime scene and all the events that took

place in the two days prior but as for

Silent however through surveillance

footage eyewitness accounts and

telephone records a timeline of the

tragic events could be made as we know

intention of treating her if she said

being with him for 3 years already she

had no intention of marrying him put

bluntly he was quite a terrible partner

unfortunately though as you can probably

guess Zahir did not take the rejection

well he was undeservedly a very proud

man and to reject a proposal in Pakistan

is seen as a highly disrespectful action

to New York but frustratingly the

operator told him that if he was to

cancel he would not receive a refund at

though his evening had crumbled and so

as a result he told the driver to wait

outside half an hour had passed before

finally Zahir emerged from the home but

he was not alone in his shadow he was

angrily dragging no behind him into

which he ordered her to get inside the

taxi during the journey the taxi driver

observed a rather unsettling dynamic

between Zahir and no no remained in

complete silence while Zahir dominated

the conversation between them speaking

and shouting at her rather than engaging

in any sort of two-way dialogue however

on the way towards the airport Zahir

then abruptly instructed the driver to

return home when the driver asked him

even to the extent of physically forcing

her back inside and sadly locked behind

doors and forced to face verbal and

physical abuse the following day

unfolded into a series of very

disturbing events ironically zahir's own

surveillance cameras became instrumental

in this case in documenting the extent

to which he was willing to regain

control surveillance footage reveals no

arriving at Z's Residence at 109 p.m. on

July the 18th the next sighting of her

occurs in the early hours of the 19th

when she is seen attempting to leave the

property unfortunately though she was

then physically restrained and dragged

back inside by Zahir in a rather

aggressive manner more than 24 hours

later and just after 7:00 p.m. on the

next day a distressing incident unfolds

nor who was grappling with desperation

jumps from a second floor balcony in a

desperate attempt to escape one thing to

highlight here is that this surveillance

footage actually captures the presence

of two other men in the background but

sadly both of them seemed rather

indifferent to the events happening

right next to them in another clip

another man can be seen beside Zahir as

tragically he had locked her inside

where she was then unable to escape and

regrettably this security guard did

nothing in that time to help her the

after the alarming call his father

contacted therapy works to arrange a

home visit for his son while doing this

he also frantically reached out to his

friends offering various excuses to try

and lure them to his residence upon the

arrival of the therapy works team and

then the authorities the grome discovery

of nor Madam's headless body unfolded no

surprise sahir Jaffer was arrested just

moments later four days later zahir's
Legal Proceedings and further arrests

parents and two other male staff members

from the household were all arrested

Under Suspicion of being complicit in

the crime all of which was substantiated

by compelling surveillance footage left

at the property moving into the legal

proceedings of this case there is little

to no doubt that Zahir is guilty in no's

murder this was supported by a wealth of

evidence including phone calls

surveillance footage the crime scene and

eyewitness accounts now zahir's parents

were ultimately released however the

same thing would not happen for the two

guards who were present during no's

murder eventually both men were

sentenced to 10 years behind bars for

their complicity it is clear to see that

they failed to alert the Police when

they knew that Zahir was being violent

towards no legal proceedings commenced

swiftly after this and this was possibly

fueled by the widespread attention that

her case received on social media the

hashtag Justice fenor trended in

Pakistan therefore making way for a

larger conversation about violence

against women to take

place

only 7 months after nor Madam's murder

2022 and despite the mountain of

evidence against him he arrogantly

pleaded not guilty he also claims to

have been wrongly convicted and although

the crime happened in his property he

believed it must have been a robbery

gone wrong while he was away you can

already see that his story was not quite

adding up though I mean apart from

nothing being taken from the property

decapitation seems a little far-fetched

for robbery and with the word that no

was murdered whoever had killed her must

have felt an intense level of Rage which

means they must have had a personal

connection to her now let's be honest

here this case was pretty much a slam

dunk in the courtroom and almost

everyone believed he was guilty I mean

at one point outside of the courtroom he

even admitted to killing her but legally

speaking this confession was not

admissible in court zahir's attempts to

deflect and deceive the courtroom proved

to be unsuccessful in fact they went so

terribly wrong for him that he ended up

receiving the harshest sentence possible

disproportionate to the crime and

furthermore claimed that the media

attention on this case had influenced

the judge to appease public sentiment

now fortunately the judge would dismiss

death sentence I mean in zahir's case it

looks like justice truly mirrored the

principle of an eye for an

eye despite all of this his execution by

hanging is still yet to be carried out

this process in Pakistan can often take

years if not decades which is quite

similar to America the final verdict

brought relief not only to no's family

and friends but also resonated as a

significant moment for women across
