0:00 In the spring of 2024, Manchester found 0:03 itself at the center of a nightmare when 0:05 parts of a human body started turning up 0:08 all over the city. This including an 0:10 abandoned bunker, the banks of a quiet 0:12 reservoir, and multiple parks. However, 0:15 the only clue they would find was from 0:17 grainy surveillance footage of a lone 0:19 man carrying heavy shopping bags through 0:21 quiet streets. That is when they gave 0:24 this killer the nickname heavy bagman. 0:26 But what they didn't know is who he 0:28 actually was or who he had murdered. The 0:31 investigation that followed was 0:32 absolutely relentless. And in the end, 0:35 their efforts would unmask not just a 0:37 horrific killer, but a parasite who 0:39 continued to feed off his victim's life 0:41 long after taking it. So, who is heavy 0:44 bagman? Who was he impersonating? And 0:47 what was their backstory? 0:50 Welcome, or welcome back to Coffee House 0:52 Crime, folks. My name is Adrian and in 0:54 today's video we're diving into a case 0:56 so horrifying that it'll make you 0:57 question your sense of trust. You see, 0:59 in this world there are givers and then 1:01 there are takers. And sometimes it's the 1:04 ones who take the most yet deserve it 1:06 the least who end up being the most 1:07 dangerous of all. We're going to dive 1:09 straight into this one today, folks. So, 1:11 please grab yourself a coffee and sit 1:13 back. This is the case of Stuart 1:15 Everett. 1:25 Welcome to Manchester, folks. A city 1:27 that was forged in the heat of the 1:29 industrial revolution and redefined 1:31 through music, football, and an attitude 1:34 as sharp as its winter rain. It's a 1:36 place where old red brick mills stand 1:38 guard over buzzing nightclubs, where 1:40 cobbled alleys hold century old secrets, 1:43 and where the locals are equal parts 1:45 frazzled and hilariously unbothered. And 1:48 uh yes, before she messages me about it, 1:50 I am including my sister in this 1:52 population. By the way, a quick shout 1:54 out to her for recording some of the 1:55 footage which is used in this video. 1:57 Thank you, Katrina. However, for all of 1:59 its northern warmth and swagger, 2:01 Manchester certainly does have a darker 2:03 underbelly, including shadows that cling 2:06 to abandoned tunnels, forgotten bunkers, 2:09 and places that the city would rather 2:10 not remember. And it was one of those 2:12 places, more specifically the castle 2:14 bunker, that an explorer stumbled across 2:17 something truly horrifying. And I'm 2:19 talking top tier terrifying here, 2:21 because what they found was a human 2:22 torso wrapped in cellophane. To paint 2:25 the picture for you properly, Cursel 2:27 bunker has been left to rot just as 2:29 tragically as the poor soul found inside 2:32 it. Tucked away in the Kursel Dale area, 2:34 it is so forgotten that it won't even 2:37 show on Google Maps. And by the way, 2:39 Kursel Dale may sound familiar to some 2:41 of you older locals, too. Because, as 2:44 you might know, it was once home to one 2:46 of Britain's poorest slums. Back then, 2:49 life in Kursle was faced with poverty. 2:51 Rats, damp, and trash were all merely 2:54 normal, and every complaint of 2:55 bronchitis was met with a shrug. Step 2:58 outside back then, and you would see 3:00 rows of crumbling backto-back terraces, 3:03 and alleyways piled so high with rubbish 3:05 that you would barely be able to see the 3:07 end. Now, it is true that Kursel really 3:09 did prop up Britain's dying industrial 3:12 revolution. But when that finally met 3:14 its end, well, so did the area. It was 3:17 in 1974 that the slum was demolished, 3:20 replaced with patches of green and then 3:22 quietly forgotten about. Of course, all 3:24 except for its bunker. The bunker itself 3:27 was a relic from the Cold War, promising 3:29 defense in any sort of nuclear attack. 3:31 But now, it's just a sealed off shell 3:33 that hides Manchester's darkest secrets. 3:36 And of course, that secret was an 3:38 unidentified human torso. We're 3:40 investigating the discovery of human 3:42 remains that were found by passers by 3:45 here at Kurszel Wetlands yesterday 3:47 evening. We do not know the identity of 3:48 the person or whether they are male or 3:51 female. From forensic inquiries so far, 3:53 we believe that these remains are likely 3:55 to have been here for a matter of days. 3:57 And it really is a tragic case. We know 4:00 this will be concerning for people in 4:02 the local area and we ask anyone with 4:04 concerns or any information whatsoever 4:07 to speak to uniformed officers who will 4:10 be in the area for a number of days. 4:11 These are very early stages in what is a 4:13 murder investigation and is a tragic 4:15 case. We are keeping an open mind and 4:18 we're doing all that we can to establish 4:20 the circumstances and provide answers as 4:23 soon as we can. Thank you. The grizzly 4:25 discovery was made on April the 4th, 4:27 2024. And let's be honest, there wasn't 4:30 a shred of doubt in any detective's 4:31 mind. This certainly was a homicide. 4:34 After all, carving off your own torso 4:36 and then hiding it separately from your 4:38 limbs would be quite impressive. The 4:40 problem is they had no idea who the 4:42 victim was and no suspect in sight. And 4:45 so, naturally, this kicked off a massive 4:47 investigation that sprawled all across 4:49 Greater Manchester. And as it turns out, 4:51 that torso, well, it was only the 4:54 beginning. As detectives dug deeper, 4:56 they turned towards surveillance footage 4:57 and doorbell cameras, hoping to catch a 4:59 glimpse of whoever was responsible. And 5:02 sure enough, as more and more body parts 5:04 began to appear all over the city, they 5:06 spotted a man who would lead them to one 5:08 of Manchester's most disturbing cases. 5:11 As seen in this surveillance footage, a 5:13 man appears to be casually hauling a 5:15 teal covered heavyduty shopping bag, 5:17 which disturbingly seemed to contain the 5:19 same cellophane wrapped torso that was 5:21 later discovered in Kursel bunker. He 5:23 carried it through a busy commercial 5:25 street, blending in as if he were just 5:28 running everyday errands. Dozens of 5:30 people seemed to pass him by, none the 5:32 wiser that they were merely meters away 5:34 from human remains. Moments later, he 5:37 was then caught on another camera 5:39 heading towards the park and then again 5:41 behind the actual park itself. Despite 5:44 combing through hours and hours of 5:45 surveillance footage, they still 5:47 couldn't figure out who this mysterious 5:49 person was. And so with no name to go 5:51 on, they simply dubbed him the heavy bag 5:54 man. In the meantime, Cursel Dale was 5:56 sealed off from the public as forensic 5:58 teams scoured every inch of the park. 6:00 But despite two painstaking weeks of 6:02 searching, they came up empty-handed. 6:04 Although they would eventually find mob 6:06 body parts, not a single additional one 6:08 was found in that park. And when they 6:10 ran the victim's DNA through the 6:11 National Police Database, well, 6:14 unfortunately, they were met with 6:15 nothing. At least that kind of confirmed 6:17 that whoever the victim was, they had 6:18 never actually been in any serious 6:20 trouble with the police before. But of 6:22 course, with no more remains, no fresh 6:24 leads, and not a single additional trace 6:26 of heavy bagman. This put officers and 6:28 detectives in a very stagnant position. 6:31 However, all of that would change when 6:32 Manchester police found other body parts 6:34 appearing all over the city. So, before 6:37 we continue with this story, I think we 6:39 should park it there for a while and 6:40 instead focus on the people who are 6:42 rather important to this one. And so on 6:45 that note, let me introduce you to 6:46 Stuart Everett. 6:49 Although Stuart lived in Manchester and 6:51 was a Derby local through and through, 6:53 he actually came from proud Polish 6:55 roots. Born under the name of Roman 6:58 Jimaki, he later changed his name to 7:00 Stuart Everett, a decision that would 7:02 help him feel more connected to his own 7:04 British upbringing. To those closest to 7:06 him, he was simply known as Benny. 7:08 However, don't mistake either of those 7:10 name changes for shame because it was 7:12 actually far from it. And as it turns 7:15 out, Stuart's parents were actually true 7:17 Polish war heroes. Captured during World 7:20 War II, they would then endure two 7:22 brutal years in a Soviet concentration 7:24 camp before then finally making their 7:26 escape and starting a new life in the 7:28 UK. Growing up alongside his brothers 7:31 and sister, Stuart would learn the 7:33 importance of community and respect for 7:35 one another. As an adult, he dedicated 7:37 himself to public service, working for 7:39 both the NHS and Department for Work and 7:42 Pensions. And over those years, he would 7:44 earn a reputation as a hard-working 7:46 civil servant who genuinely cared about 7:49 people's well-being. And although he 7:51 would never marry or have his own 7:52 children, it turns out that he was 7:54 family to his own community instead. By 7:57 his mid60s, Stuart made the hard 7:59 decision to step back from full-time 8:01 work. Sadly, he began to suffer from 8:04 several health complications, including 8:06 a stroke, which would require him to use 8:08 a walking stick at all times. And so, 8:11 with this setback, it was now finally 8:13 time for him to kick back and relax. 8:15 Fast forward to the year of 2013, and 8:18 Stuart was now more devoted to his 8:20 Polish community than ever before. He 8:22 ran several English classes weekly, 8:24 helping newly arrived Polish immigrants 8:26 in Manchester not only learn the 8:28 language, but also feel a sense of 8:30 belonging. By now, he was living in a 8:33 rented three-bedroom house on Warsley 8:35 Road in the Winton area of Salford, 8:37 Manchester, and not wanting to live 8:39 alone, the other two bedrooms were also 8:41 rented out to other Polish migrants. And 8:44 that is exactly how he crossed paths 8:46 with two fellow countrymen who were 8:48 named Michael Pulchovski and Marson 8:50 Makovich. Now, although Stuart lived 8:52 with both Michael and Marson, we're 8:54 going to focus on that second name 8:56 because he's the main person we should 8:57 be talking about. By the time Marson 8:59 moved into Stuart's house, the two had 9:01 actually already known each other for 9:03 well over a decade with Marson moving in 9:05 around 2017 after breaking up with his 9:08 partner. Now, it is worth saying here 9:09 that Marson had two children with this 9:11 partner. And although the relationship 9:13 had sadly ended, they did remain on good 9:15 terms and he would visit his children 9:16 often. Now, for most of his adult life, 9:18 Marson worked in fast food restaurants, 9:20 occasionally working in the Trafford 9:22 Center whenever work was available. Now, 9:24 here is where it gets interesting, but 9:26 it turns out that friends and neighbors 9:28 would often see Stuart and Marson 9:29 together, where they seemed especially 9:31 close. In fact, in private emails to a 9:34 friend, Stuart would even describe 9:36 Marson as his partner. So, despite the 9:38 massive age gap of around 25 years, 9:40 there probably was some level of romance 9:42 or at least intimacy going on between 9:44 the two. However, what was clear is that 9:46 Stuart deeply cared about Marson. In 9:49 fact, he treated him with great 9:50 kindness, and he wasn't just some 9:52 roommates or a friend, but he was also a 9:55 mentor, a confident, and in many ways, 9:57 family. Now, for the sake of this story, 9:59 it's worth saying that they had their 10:01 own separate bedrooms. But what is also 10:03 obvious is that the bond they shared 10:05 went far beyond that of ordinary 10:06 housemates. However, there was a dark 10:09 side to Marson, too. A fascination for 10:11 gore and violence aside, he was capable 10:13 of doing extraordinarily horrific 10:15 things. And all of that would come to 10:17 light in 2024. You see, throughout 2023 10:21 and the years prior, Marson had actually 10:23 dug himself a huge financial grave. He 10:26 took out multiple loans and racked up 10:27 more than £60,000 of debt. And every 10:30 penny was spent just as quickly as he 10:32 borrowed it. And when that pool of 10:34 borrowed money ran dry, well, the 10:36 repayments he'd promised to make never 10:38 happened. Oh, and if that wasn't enough 10:40 already, he had also maxed out all of 10:42 his credit cards at over £14,000. 10:45 Seriously, this man must have literally 10:47 thought that debt was a hobby. But 10:48 instead of clawing his way back with 10:50 honest work, Marson would sadly do the 10:52 opposite and quit altogether. Being out 10:54 of work since November of 2023. And now 10:57 he was just drifting about the house 10:59 with no job, plan, or desire. And sadly, 11:02 in his twisted mind, a new solution 11:04 emerged. Why claw his way out of debt 11:06 when he could simply replace the man 11:08 who'd helped him the most? And so Marson 11:11 made a decision that would stain the 11:12 house forever. He would murder Stuart 11:14 Everett in cold blood, take over all of 11:16 his bank accounts, and squeeze every 11:19 last drop from his identity. He would 11:21 quite literally become his parasite. And 11:24 just like that, Heavy Bagman was born. 11:30 It was sometime during the late hours of 11:32 March the 27th, 2024 that Marson set his 11:35 plan into motion. Stuart had settled 11:37 down for the evening, watching the 11:39 football match from a sofa in his 11:41 bedroom as he rested in his pajamas. But 11:43 Marson, he unfortunately had other 11:45 plans. And with a hammer in his hand, he 11:48 slowly approached Stuart from behind. It 11:51 was in that moment that he struck him on 11:53 the top and the back of his head at 11:54 least four times, with each swing 11:57 cracking deeper than the last, and with 11:59 so much force that Stuart's skull quite 12:01 literally gave way beneath it. The 12:03 medical evidence that was left behind on 12:05 his body painted a very grim picture. It 12:08 appeared that Stuart clung to life just 12:10 long enough to draw in only a few ragged 12:12 breaths, all of which was confirmed by 12:14 the blood that was found in his lungs. 12:16 We believe that moments later, he would 12:19 sadly pass away. Unfortunately, the 12:21 worst was still yet to come on the 12:24 bedroom floor, and while equipped with a 12:26 knife and a hacksaw, Marson then slowly 12:29 started to carve Stuart into pieces. Of 12:32 course, with his aim to reduce him into 12:34 packages that were then small enough to 12:36 carry. After the deed was done, various 12:38 body parts were then meticulously 12:40 wrapped, some of which were put into 12:42 cling film, while others were stuffed 12:44 into black bin bags. And then over the 12:47 following week, he began the grim 12:49 process of disposing them all across the 12:51 city. The police would later learn that 12:53 he made at least 11 trips from his 12:55 house, each time lugging a shopping or 12:57 travel bag with Stuart Slims inside. And 13:00 while out in the public, he would then 13:02 walk by hundreds of people who could 13:04 have never guessed what he was actually 13:06 carrying beside them. His chosen dumping 13:09 grounds were the quiet corners of North 13:11 Manchester and the Salford area, which 13:13 of course included secluded parks, 13:15 forgotten open spaces, bunkers, and the 13:18 still waters around Black Leachch 13:20 Reservoir. And by the way, it was that 13:22 reservoir where he would decide to get 13:24 rid of the hacksaw, too. But there was a 13:26 new problem for Marson, that being the 13:28 Easter weekend, which always brought 13:30 crowds. With that in mind, he decided to 13:32 pause his disposal process and instead 13:35 store what remained of Stuart in a 13:37 freezer in the home until the coast was 13:39 clear. And with Marson still worried 13:41 that he could eventually be caught, he 13:43 decided to take his cruelty a step 13:45 further by separating Stuart's face from 13:47 his skull. Of course, in an effort to 13:49 prevent his identity from ever being 13:51 discovered, 13:55 after hacking Stuart's body into pieces 13:57 and then scattering him across 13:58 Manchester, Marson did not stop there. 14:01 In fact, he would quite literally become 14:03 Stuart's parasite in every sense of the 14:05 word. To begin with, he lied to the 14:07 landlord and the other housemate, 14:08 Michael, claiming that Stuart had simply 14:10 gone back to Derby and was not planning 14:12 on returning. And it turns out that 14:14 faking messages to people wouldn't be 14:16 that hard either because Marson actually 14:18 already knew the password to Stuart's 14:20 phone. And so with that said, he then 14:22 started to text Stuart's own family 14:24 while pretending to be him. Basically 14:26 saying that he had now moved out of the 14:28 property and also was too unwell to take 14:30 any phone calls. He then commandeered 14:32 all of Stuart's bank accounts and 14:34 basically bled him dry for every single 14:36 penny. And if that wasn't bad enough 14:38 already, he then impersonated Stuart 14:40 over the phone and even slurred his 14:42 voice to make it sound like a man who 14:43 was recovering from a stroke. After 14:45 that, he then hired a skip company with 14:47 Stuart's money to basically throw all of 14:49 his stuff away. And then he went after 14:52 his pension scheme. Now, of course, 14:54 Stuart's own family would eventually 14:55 become suspicious. I mean, they hadn't 14:58 even seen pictures or videos of Stuart's 15:00 new home. And so to counteract that, 15:02 Marson went to an open home and then 15:04 recorded the experience to make it look 15:06 like Stuart now lived there instead. He 15:08 would even send birthday cards to 15:10 Stuart's family, creating this illusion 15:12 that he was still alive and well. Not 15:15 only that, but he regularly visited 15:17 random ATM machines to collect cash from 15:19 Stuart's bank accounts, where he would 15:21 then go and spend the money on fast food 15:23 like KFC. Meanwhile, back at the house, 15:26 Marson worked hard to get rid of any 15:28 evidence of the murder. With a skip now 15:30 at his disposal, he could easily dump 15:32 Stuart's belongings and anything 15:34 suspicious. As already mentioned, he 15:36 disposed of the hammer and the hacksaw 15:38 in the local reservoir. And as for all 15:40 the evidence which couldn't be moved, 15:42 well, bleach and antibacterial wipes 15:44 would have to do. He told the landlord 15:46 that all three of them were moving out. 15:49 Meanwhile, telling the other housemate, 15:50 Michael, that the landlord had given 15:52 notice to leave. He then cleared out all 15:54 of Stuart's belongings, telling Michael 15:56 that his family had already collected it 15:58 all. However, some things are much 16:01 harder to erase, and the carpet in 16:03 Marson's bedroom told a very different 16:05 story. Blood stains were something that 16:07 not even a rug doctor could fix. So, he 16:10 cut out the stained patch entirely 16:12 before then replacing it with a piece 16:14 from Stuart's own carpet. He then hid 16:16 this missing patch under his bed and, 16:18 believe it or not, forgot to throw it 16:20 out in the trash. His 16:24 cover up dragged on for almost an entire 16:25 month, and by the time Marson was 16:27 finished with his frantic cleaning, 16:29 police had already made their first 16:31 discovery. Of course, that being a human 16:33 torso and cursel bunker. In addition to 16:35 this, detectives had also found several 16:37 surveillance video clips of him carrying 16:39 suspicious bags around the city. But of 16:41 course, despite him having the name of 16:43 heavy bagman, the police still at this 16:45 stage had no idea who he was. Meanwhile, 16:48 it turns out that Marson was already 16:50 planning his next move because, as it 16:52 turns out, he had started researching 16:54 rental properties in Alakante in Spain. 16:56 Of course, that meaning that not only 16:58 was he ready to vanish abroad, but also 17:00 abandon his former partner and children. 17:02 Back in Salford, neighbors began to 17:04 sense that something was off. Were they 17:06 once saw Stewart tending to the garden 17:08 or popping down to the corner shop? 17:10 Well, now there was only silence and no 17:13 sign of him at all. Marson thought that 17:15 he had everyone fault here. But his 17:17 carefully spun web of lies was all about 17:19 to fall apart in ways that he never saw 17:21 coming. And unfortunately for him, it 17:24 would all be at the very last moment. 17:28 It was on April the 25th, 2024 that 17:31 something remarkable happened. By now, 17:33 Stuart had been dead for almost a month, 17:35 and for the last 3 weeks, the police had 17:38 been aware of his remains, but sadly 17:40 still had no idea who he was. Despite 17:43 their relentless efforts, the elusive 17:45 figure that they'd nicknamed heavy 17:46 bagman remained unidentified. However, 17:49 that was all about to change with thanks 17:52 to a stroke of pure luck. Investigation 17:54 support officer Clare Deli was walking 17:56 down a quiet residential street when she 17:59 happened to glance up and spot a man who 18:01 looked eerily similar to heavy bagman. 18:04 Acting fast, Clare and her colleague 18:06 both alerted nearby unformed officers 18:08 while she discreetly kept Marson in 18:10 sight. She tailed him just long enough 18:13 for backup to arrive. And when they did, 18:15 the officers then shadowed him onto a 18:17 bus. And it was there without warning 18:20 that Marson Mayerovich was in big 18:22 trouble. 18:28 in front of you. 18:31 You're detained for the purpose of a 18:32 search while your identity. Okay. Or if 18:35 you could pass your mobile 18:42 double check, please 18:45 [Music] 18:46 check 18:48 this group with a van to collect this 18:49 potential customer that's coming in. 18:50 Have we got anything sharp or anything? 18:54 Okay. It's fine. Don't worry. We'll just 18:55 check and then 19:00 blaster 19:02 mistake 19:04 100%. I know. I appreciate that. All 19:06 we've had is information passed to us 19:08 from officers investigating the a 19:10 serious matter as to whether 19:12 [Music] 19:14 just on 19:16 not today, but it has happened recently. 19:19 Okay. 19:21 It's 12 minutes past 1 minute time. be 19:23 under arrest. Suspicion of murder. Do 19:25 you understand the offense? You're under 19:26 arrest for the meantime. Okay. Suspicion 19:28 of murder for an incident which occurred 19:30 in Sulford. All right. So, you were 19:32 taken to police station for question 19:34 regarding that. Okay. I go with you and 19:36 I answer any questions. 19:41 Yeah. 19:51 Do it again if you want. 19:55 Right. Have seen. What's your 20:06 And just like that, they had him. Marson 20:09 was now finally in handcuffs. Once they 20:11 had him, everything began to fall into 20:13 place because after realizing where he 20:15 lived, they learned that his housemate 20:17 Stuart had actually been missing for 20:19 weeks. And of course, that would end the 20:21 mysterious identity of their victim. By 20:23 the way, it is actually a miracle that 20:24 officer Deli spotted Marson when she did 20:27 because, as it turns out, Marson was 20:29 going to move out of that property later 20:30 that day. And with him searching for 20:32 places to live in Spain, well, that 20:34 would have made things a whole lot 20:35 harder for officers. After a quick sweep 20:38 of the property and then a couple rounds 20:39 of DNA testing, officers would learn 20:42 everything they needed to know. And 20:44 sadly, Stuart was in fact confirmed to 20:46 be the victim. When they began to 20:48 inspect Marson's bedroom, they found a 20:50 few horrible clues. For example, the 20:52 carpet that lay beneath would tell its 20:54 own story. It turns out that Stuart's 20:56 blood had soaked right through the 20:58 underlay and deep into the floorboards. 21:00 Under a UV light, more blood was found, 21:02 and in the fridge freezer, DNA matching 21:05 Stuart was also confirmed. This was only 21:07 the beginning, by the way, because under 21:09 a UV light, more blood was discovered. 21:12 Meanwhile, downstairs and in the fridge 21:14 freezer, DNA matching Stuart was found. 21:16 Now, you would think that getting caught 21:18 red-handed would probably crack someone 21:20 wide open, but Marson, not at all. In 21:23 fact, he was actually stone cold and 21:25 said nothing in the interrogation room. 21:27 So, naturally, the search would then 21:29 fall to the boots on the ground. And 21:30 over the following days, detectives comb 21:32 through rivers, woodlands, urban 21:34 wastelands, and reservoirs, and in the 21:36 end found 19 separate crime scenes. 21:39 However, in the end, only onethird of 21:41 Stuart's body was discovered, which 21:43 means even to this day, more than 21:45 twothirds of him are still out there 21:47 waiting to be discovered. Detectives 21:49 would eventually learn that Marson had 21:51 circled Black Leach Reservoir several 21:53 times. Deep beneath the water, divers 21:56 dredged up a hacksaw, and on its blade, 21:59 Stuart's blood was discovered clear as 22:01 day. But perhaps the most chilling 22:03 discovery was still yet to come. Because 22:05 in a stroke of good luck, divers would 22:07 find all four parts of Stuart's skull. 22:10 It had been broken into four separate 22:11 fragments during the attack before then 22:14 being scattered into different parts of 22:15 that large murky reservoir. 22:18 Anyway, when it came to Marson's trial, 22:21 things were not looking good. A forensic 22:23 pathologist reconstructed Stuart's skull 22:25 before then confirming what 22:27 investigators had already believed. That 22:29 he had been murdered by multiple blows 22:31 to the head with an object that was 22:33 reminiscent to the hammer that Marson 22:35 had purchased. And as for his defense, 22:38 well, that didn't stand a chance. Not 22:40 only was his DNA all over the murder 22:42 weapon, but it was also sprinkled over 22:45 dozens of other articles of evidence. 22:47 Detectives poured over more than 2,000 22:49 hours of surveillance footage, collected 22:51 over 3,000 exhibits, and took statements 22:54 from more than 450 witnesses. And 22:57 obviously, nearly everything pointed 23:00 straight back towards him. Oh, and 23:02 here's a picture of the sofa under UV 23:04 light. Not only was it drenched in 23:06 Stuart's blood, but Marson's DNA was all 23:08 over it, too. I mean, the man even paid 23:11 to have that blood soaked sofa hidden 23:12 away in a storage unit, hoping that no 23:14 one would ever find it. And how about 23:16 that birthday card that he had sent to 23:18 Stuart's family pretending to be him 23:20 still alive and well. Yeah, the 23:22 handwriting was confirmed to belong to 23:24 Marson, and the paper itself was covered 23:26 with his grubby fingerprints. The 23:28 prosecution would also highlight many 23:30 additional details, such as purchasing a 23:32 hacksaw and a hammer in advance, and the 23:35 messages he had sent on behalf of Stuart 23:37 in the days following his murder. The 23:39 judge would also express his repulsion 23:41 towards Marson, recognizing that he 23:43 showed an extremely distasteful 23:45 willingness and perhaps even enthusiasm 23:47 to butchering his friend's body. Even 23:49 throughout his trial, Marson denied 23:51 having any involvement in Stuart's 23:53 murder. In fact, he would still call it 23:55 one giant misunderstanding. But the jury 23:57 saw right through his lies, and in March 23:59 of 2025, and following a 3-week trial, 24:02 they officially found him guilty of 24:04 murder. They determined that the motive 24:06 was plain and simple greed. because 24:08 Martin had racked up an irreoverable 24:10 amount of debt and so he thought he 24:12 could simply kill Stuart and then siphon 24:14 all his money. As a result, Marson was 24:16 sentenced to life in prison with a 24:18 minimum term of 34 years behind bars, 24:20 which thankfully means that at the very 24:22 earliest he won't be free again until 24:24 208. And by then, Marson's going to be 24:27 76 years old. 24:30 This is a deeply sad story about a man 24:32 who gave so much to his community only 24:35 to be betrayed and then exploited by 24:37 someone he trusted. Although Stuart 24:39 wasn't in the best of health when he 24:41 died, he had never lost his zest for 24:43 life. He was known for being jolly, 24:45 friendly, and mildmannered, a caring man 24:48 who remained very close to his family 24:50 right until the end. Friends describe 24:52 him as a gentle and sociable soul with 24:54 an upbeat personality. And one of his 24:56 friends put it quite simply that he was 24:58 the kind of man that everyone got on 25:00 with. Someone who was easy to talk to 25:02 and always ready with a warm welcome. In 25:05 a statement, Stuart's family said, "Even 25:08 though it has been almost 12 months, we 25:10 are still haunted by Benny's death, 25:12 which has now been made even more 25:14 painful knowing the lengths that were 25:16 taken to planet. It is truly difficult 25:18 to put into words how much he meant to 25:21 us and how much we will all miss him. 25:25 Stuart was a true historian and 25:27 collector and unfortunately with him 25:30 holding all of his family's old 25:31 paperwork, well, all of that was lost 25:33 when Marson threw all of it into the 25:35 skip. He threw away decades of wedding 25:37 photos, birth certificates, memories, 25:39 and memoirs. And so it turns out that 25:41 not only is Marson a horrible killer, 25:43 but also a vile parasite who denied an 25:46 entire family of their heritage. I mean, 25:48 the man quite literally went to a KFC 25:50 after dumping a body part in the park. 25:53 Who even does that? It remains eerily 25:55 unclear if other parts of Stuart will 25:57 ever be found because even to this day, 25:59 Marson remains uncooperative. But 26:01 perhaps through time, the monster will 26:03 eventually change his mind. After all, 26:06 he has a very long time to think about 26:08 it. I don't think there is much to 26:10 debate in this story because the 26:11 evidence available is very cut and dry. 26:13 But saying that, I would love to know 26:14 what you think about this one because 26:16 the story is absolutely wild. So, with 26:18 that said, please share your thoughts in 26:20 the comments section down below cuz I 26:22 genuinely like to read them. I can't 26:23 really think of anything else to say 26:24 here. So, I guess that's the end of the 26:26 video. On that note, thank you so much 26:28 for making it this far, folks. I really 26:30 do appreciate you being here. I'm going 26:31 to keep to this weekly schedule probably 26:33 for at least the foreseeable future. So, 26:35 on that note, I'll see you again same 26:37 time next week.
