Intro 0:00 I got as far as a doorway I didn't. Yeah, don't go in. Oh, this is a murder scene. It's 12 minutes past 1 minute time. 0:05 You're under suspicion of murder. I'd like to send a message now to the adolescent males to unbburden himself of 0:13 this stigma that that society's put on him. Bodies in bin bags, diabolical mental 0:19 health, and cops that ignored cries for help. Humans can be extraordinary creatures capable of immense kindness 0:26 and also unspeakable cruelty. And nowhere is that contrast more recognized 0:32 than in true crime itself. Because the most terrifying thing about true crime is the realization that these people are 0:38 not monsters hiding in the shadows, but in fact ordinary people in ordinary 0:44 places crossing lines that should never be crossed. And nowhere is that contrast more starkly seen than in these five 0:51 cases. Welcome or welcome back to Coffee House Crime, folks. My name is Adrian and 0:58 today we'll be exploring some of the most horrifying stories that I've covered in 2025. Ranging from Argentina 1:04 to England and Romania to the United States, these stories will leave you feeling cold, angry, and shocked. Oh, 1:10 and by the way, you're watching another video by Coffee House Crime. So, if you like true crime, strange or dark 1:16 stories, please do consider subscribing. It really helps the channel out. And now, with that said, please grab 1:21 yourself a coffee and let's start with the case of Stuart Everett. CASE 1 1:34 In the spring of 2024, Manchester found itself at the center of a nightmare when 1:39 parts of a human body started turning up all over the city. This including an abandoned bunker, the banks of a quiet 1:47 reservoir, and multiple parks. However, the only clue they would find was from grainy surveillance footage of a lone 1:53 man carrying heavy shopping bags through quiet streets. That is when they gave this killer the nickname heavy bagman. 2:00 But what they didn't know is who he actually was or who he had murdered. The investigation that followed was 2:07 absolutely relentless. And in the end, their efforts would unmask not just a horrific killer, but a parasite who 2:13 continued to feed off his victim's life long after taking it. So, who is heavy 2:18 bagman? Who was he impersonating? And what was their backstory? 2:24 Welcome to Manchester, folks. A city that was forged in the heat of the industrial revolution and redefined 2:30 through music, football, and an attitude as sharp as its winter rain. It's a place where old red brick mills stand 2:37 guard over buzzing nightclubs, where cobbled alleys hold century old secrets, and where the locals are equal parts 2:44 frazzled and hilariously unbothered. And uh yes, before she messages me about it, 2:49 I am including my sister in this population. By the way, a quick shout out to her for recording some of the 2:54 footage which is used in this video. Thank you, Katrina. However, for all of its northern warmth and swagger, 3:00 Manchester certainly does have a darker underbelly, including shadows that cling to abandoned tunnels, forgotten bunkers, 3:08 and places that the city would rather not remember. And it was one of those places, more specifically the castle 3:13 bunker, that an explorer stumbled across something truly horrifying. And I'm talking top tier terrifying here, 3:20 because what they found was a human torso wrapped in cellophane. To paint the picture for you properly, Cursel 3:26 bunker has been left to rot just as tragically as the poor soul found inside it. Tucked away in the Kursel Dale area, 3:33 it is so forgotten that it won't even show on Google Maps. And by the way, Kursel Dale may sound familiar to some 3:40 of you older locals, too. Because, as you might know, it was once home to one of Britain's poorest slums. Back then, 3:48 life in Kursle was faced with poverty. Rats, damp, and trash were all merely 3:53 normal, and every complaint of bronchitis was met with a shrug. Step outside back then, and you would see 3:59 rows of crumbling backto-back terraces, and alleyways piled so high with rubbish that you would barely be able to see the 4:06 end. Now, it is true that Kursel really did prop up Britain's dying industrial revolution. But when that finally met 4:13 its end, well, so did the area. It was in 1974 that the slum was demolished, 4:18 replaced with patches of green and then quietly forgotten about. Of course, all except for its bunker. The bunker itself 4:26 was a relic from the Cold War, promising defense in any sort of nuclear attack. But now, it's just a sealed off shell 4:32 that hides Manchester's darkest secrets. And of course, that secret was an unidentified human torso. 4:39 We're investigating the discovery of human remains that were found by passers by here at Kurszel Wetlands yesterday 4:46 evening. We do not know the identity of the person or whether they are male or female. From forensic inquiries so far, 4:52 we believe that these remains are likely to have been here for a matter of days. And it really is a tragic case. We know 4:59 this will be concerning for people in the local area and we ask anyone with concerns or any information whatsoever 5:06 to speak to uniformed officers who will be in the area for a number of days. These are very early stages in what is a 5:12 murder investigation and is a tragic case. We are keeping an open mind and we do all that we can to establish the 5:19 circumstances and provide answers as soon as we can. Thank you. The grizzly discovery was made on April 5:25 the 4th, 2024. And let's be honest, there wasn't a shred of doubt in any detective's mind. This certainly was a 5:32 homicide. After all, carving off your own torso and then hiding it separately from your limbs would be quite 5:38 impressive. The problem is, they had no idea who the victim was and no suspect in sight. And so, naturally, this kicked 5:45 off a massive investigation that sprawled all across Greater Manchester. And as it turns out, that torso, well, 5:52 it was only the beginning. As detectives dug deeper, they turned towards surveillance footage and doorbell 5:57 cameras, hoping to catch a glimpse of whoever was responsible. And sure enough, as more and more body parts 6:03 began to appear all over the city, they spotted a man who would lead them to one of Manchester's most disturbing cases. 6:10 As seen in this surveillance footage, a man appears to be casually hauling a teal covered heavyduty shopping bag, 6:16 which disturbingly seemed to contain the same cellophane wrapped torso that was later discovered in Kursel bunker. He 6:22 carried it through a busy commercial street, blending in as if he were just running everyday errands. Dozens of 6:29 people seemed to pass him by, none the wiser that they were merely meters away from human remains. Moments later, he 6:36 was then caught on another camera heading towards the park and then again behind the actual park itself. Despite 6:42 combing through hours and hours of surveillance footage, they still couldn't figure out who this mysterious 6:48 person was. And so with no name to go on, they simply dubbed him the heavy bag 6:53 man. In the meantime, Cursel Dale was sealed off from the public as forensic teams scoured every inch of the park. 6:59 But despite two painstaking weeks of searching, they came up empty-handed. Although they would eventually find mob 7:05 body parts, not a single additional one was found in that park. And when they ran the victim's DNA through the 7:10 National Police Database, well, unfortunately, they were met with nothing. At least that kind of confirmed 7:16 that whoever the victim was, they had never actually been in any serious trouble with the police before. But of 7:21 course, with no more remains, no fresh leads, and not a single additional trace of heavy bagman. This put officers and 7:27 detectives in a very stagnant position. However, all of that would change when Manchester police found other body parts 7:33 appearing all over the city. So, before we continue with this story, I think we should park it there for a while and 7:39 instead focus on the people who are rather important to this one. And so on that note, let me introduce you to 7:45 Stuart Everett. Although Stuart lived in Manchester and was a Derby local through and through, 7:52 he actually came from proud Polish roots. Born under the name of Roman Jimaki, he later changed his name to 7:59 Stuart Everett, a decision that would help him feel more connected to his own British upbringing. To those closest to 8:05 him, he was simply known as Benny. However, don't mistake either of those name changes for shame, because it was 8:11 actually far from it. And as it turns out, Stuart's parents were actually true Polish war heroes. Captured during World 8:19 War II, they would then endure two brutal years in a Soviet concentration camp before then finally making their 8:25 escape and starting a new life in the UK. Growing up alongside his brothers and sister, Stuart would learn the 8:32 importance of community and respect for one another. As an adult, he dedicated himself to public service, working for 8:38 both the NHS and Department for Work and Pensions. And over those years, he would 8:43 earn a reputation as a hard-working civil servant who genuinely cared about people's well-being. And although he 8:50 would never marry or have his own children, it turns out that he was family to his own community instead. By 8:56 his mid60s, Stuart made the hard decision to step back from full-time work. Sadly, he began to suffer from 9:03 several health complications, including a stroke, which would require him to use a walking stick at all times. And so 9:10 with this setback, it was now finally time for him to kick back and relax. Fast forward to the year of 2013, and 9:17 Stuart was now more devoted to his Polish community than ever before. He ran several English classes weekly, 9:23 helping newly arrived Polish immigrants in Manchester not only learn the language, but also feel a sense of 9:29 belonging. By now, he was living in a rented three-bedroom house on Warsley Road in the Winton area of Salford, 9:36 Manchester, and not wanting to live alone, the other two bedrooms were also rented out to other Polish migrants. And 9:43 that is exactly how he crossed paths with two fellow countrymen who were named Michael Pchovski and Marson 9:49 Makovich. Now, although Stuart lived with both Michael and Marson, we're going to focus on that second name 9:55 because he's the main person we should be talking about. By the time Marson moved into Stuart's house, the two had 10:00 actually already known each other for well over a decade, with Marson moving in around 2017 after breaking up with 10:06 his partner. Now, it is worth saying here that Marson had two children with this partner. And although the 10:11 relationship had sadly ended, they did remain on good terms and he would visit his children often. Now, for most of his 10:17 adult life, Marson worked in fast food restaurants, occasionally working in the Trafford Center whenever work was 10:22 available. Now, here is where it gets interesting, but it turns out that friends and neighbors would often see Stuart and Marson together where they 10:29 seemed especially close. In fact, in private emails to a friend, Stuart would even describe Marson as his partner. So, 10:36 despite the massive age gap of around 25 years, there probably was some level of romance or at least intimacy going on 10:43 between the two. However, what was clear is that Stuart deeply cared about Marson. In fact, he treated him with 10:49 great kindness and he wasn't just some roommate or a friend, but he was also a mentor, a confident, and in many ways, 10:56 family. Now, for the sake of this story, it's worth saying that they had their own separate bedrooms. But what is also 11:02 obvious is that the bond they shared went far beyond that of ordinary housemates. However, there was a dark 11:08 side to Marson, too. A fascination for gore and violence aside, he was capable of doing extraordinarily horrific 11:14 things. And all of that would come to light in 2024. You see, throughout 2023 11:20 and the years prior, Marson had actually dug himself a huge financial grave. He took out multiple loans and racked up 11:26 more than £60,000 of debt. And every penny was spent just as quickly as he borrowed it. And when that pool of 11:33 borrowed money ran dry, well, the repayments he'd promised to make never happened. Oh, and if that wasn't enough 11:39 already, he had also maxed out all of his credit cards at over £14,000. Seriously, this man must have literally 11:46 thought that debt was a hobby. But instead of clawing his way back with honest work, Marson would sadly do the 11:51 opposite and quit altogether. Being out of work since November of 2023. And now 11:56 he was just drifting about the house with no job, plan, or desire. And sadly, in his twisted mind, a new solution 12:03 emerged. Why claw his way out of debt when he could simply replace the man who'd helped him the most? And so Marson 12:10 made a decision that would stain the house forever. He would murder Stuart Everett in cold blood, take over all of 12:15 his bank accounts, and squeeze every last drop from his identity. He would quite literally become his parasite. And 12:23 just like that, Heavy Bag Man was born. 12:29 It was sometime during the late hours of March the 27th, 2024 that Marson set his 12:34 plan into motion. Stuart had settled down for the evening, watching the football match from a sofa in his 12:40 bedroom as he rested in his pajamas. But Marson, he unfortunately had other plans. And with a hammer in his hand, he 12:47 slowly approached Stuart from behind. It was in that moment that he struck him on the top and the back of his head at 12:53 least four times, with each swing cracking deeper than the last, and with so much force that Stuart's skull quite 13:00 literally gave way beneath it. The medical evidence that was left behind on his body painted a very grim picture. It 13:07 appeared that Stuart clung to life just long enough to draw in only a few ragged breaths, all of which was confirmed by 13:13 the blood that was found in his lungs. We believe that moments later, he would sadly pass away. Unfortunately, the 13:20 worst was still yet to come on the bedroom floor, and while equipped with a knife and a hacksaw, Marson then slowly 13:28 started to carve Stuart into pieces. Of course, with his aim to reduce him into 13:33 packages that were then small enough to carry. After the deed was done, various body parts were then meticulously 13:39 wrapped, some of which were put into cling film, while others were stuffed into black bin bags. And then over the 13:46 following week, he began the grim process of disposing them all across the city. The police would later learn that 13:52 he made at least 11 trips from his house, each time lugging a shopping or travel bag with Stuart Slims inside. And 13:59 while out in the public, he would then walk by hundreds of people who could have never guessed what he was actually 14:05 carrying beside them. His chosen dumping grounds were the quiet corners of North Manchester and the Salford area, which 14:12 of course included secluded parks, forgotten open spaces, bunkers, and the still waters around Black Leachch 14:18 Reservoir. And by the way, it was that reservoir where he would decide to get rid of the hacksaw, too. But there was a 14:25 new problem for Marson, that being the Easter weekend, which always brought crowds. With that in mind, he decided to 14:31 pause his disposal process and instead store what remained of Stuart in a freezer in the home until the coast was 14:38 clear. And with Marson still worried that he could eventually be caught, he decided to take his cruelty a step 14:44 further by separating Stuart's face from his skull. Of course, in an effort to prevent his identity from ever being 14:50 discovered, after hacking Stuart's body into pieces 14:56 and then scattering him across Manchester, Marson did not stop there. In fact, he would quite literally become 15:02 Stuart's parasite in every sense of the word. To begin with, he lied to the landlord and the other housemate, 15:07 Michael, claiming that Stuart had simply gone back to Derby and was not planning on returning. And it turns out that 15:13 faking messages to people wouldn't be that hard either because Marson actually already knew the password to Stuart's 15:19 phone. And so with that said, he then started to text Stuart's own family while pretending to be him. Basically 15:25 saying that he had now moved out of the property and also was too unwell to take any phone calls. He then commandeered 15:31 all of Stuart's bank accounts and basically bled him dry for every single penny. And if that wasn't bad enough 15:37 already, he then impersonated Stuart over the phone and even slurred his voice to make it sound like a man who 15:42 was recovering from a stroke. After that, he then hired a skip company with Stuart's money to basically throw all of 15:48 his stuff away. And then he went after his pension scheme. Now, of course, Stuart's own family would eventually 15:54 become suspicious. I mean, they hadn't even seen pictures or videos of Stuart's new home. And so to counteract that, 16:01 Marson went to an open home and then recorded the experience to make it look like Stuart now lived there instead. He 16:07 would even send birthday cards to Stuart's family, creating this illusion that he was still alive and well. Not 16:14 only that, but he regularly visited random ATM machines to collect cash from Stuart's bank accounts, where he would 16:20 then go and spend the money on fast food like KFC. Meanwhile, back at the house, Marson worked hard to get rid of any 16:27 evidence of the murder. With a skip now at his disposal, he could easily dump Stuart's belongings and anything 16:33 suspicious. As already mentioned, he disposed of the hammer and the hacksaw in the local reservoir. And as for all 16:39 the evidence which couldn't be moved, well, bleach and antibacterial wipes would have to do. He told the landlord 16:45 that all three of them were moving out. Meanwhile, telling the other housemate, Michael, that the landlord had given 16:51 notice to leave. He then cleared out all of Stuart's belongings, telling Michael that his family had already collected it 16:57 all. However, some things are much harder to erase, and the carpet in Marson's bedroom told a very different 17:04 story. Blood stains were something that not even a rug doctor could fix. So, he 17:09 cut out the stained patch entirely before then replacing it with a piece from Stuart's own carpet. He then hid 17:15 this missing patch under his bed and, believe it or not, forgot to throw it out in the trash. His 17:22 cover up dragged on for almost an entire month, and by the time Marson was finished with his frantic cleaning, 17:28 police had already made their first discovery. Of course, that being a human torso and cursel bunker. In addition to 17:34 this, detectives had also found several surveillance video clips of him carrying suspicious bags around the city. But of 17:40 course, despite him having the name of heavy bagman, the police still at this stage had no idea who he was. Meanwhile, 17:47 it turns out that Marson was already planning his next move because, as it turns out, he had started researching 17:53 rental properties in Alakante in Spain. Of course, that meaning that not only was he ready to vanish abroad, but also 17:59 abandon his former partner and children. Back in Salford, neighbors began to sense that something was off. Were they 18:05 once saw Stewart tending to the garden or popping down to the corner shop? Well, now there was only silence and no 18:12 sign of him at all. Marson thought that he had everyone fault here. But his carefully spun web of lies was all about 18:18 to fall apart in ways that he never saw coming. And unfortunately for him, it 18:23 would all be at the very last moment. It was on April the 25th, 2024 that 18:30 something remarkable happened. By now, Stuart had been dead for almost a month, and for the last 3 weeks, the police had 18:37 been aware of his remains, but sadly still had no idea who he was. Despite 18:42 their relentless efforts, the elusive figure that they'd nicknamed heavy bagman remained unidentified. However, 18:48 that was all about to change with thanks to a stroke of pure luck. Investigation support officer Clare Deli was walking 18:55 down a quiet residential street when she happened to glance up and spot a man who looked eerily similar to heavy bagman. 19:03 Acting fast, Clare and her colleague both alerted nearby unformed officers while she discreetly kept Marson in 19:09 sight. She tailed him just long enough for backup to arrive. And when they did, the officers then shadowed him onto a 19:16 bus. And it was there without warning that Marson Mayerovich was in big trouble. 19:29 Being signed detained for the purpose of a search identity. Okay. or if you could pass 19:34 your mobile 19:47 with a van to collect this potential customer that's coming in. Have you got anything sharp or anything? 19:53 Okay, it's fine. Don't worry. We'll just check and then 19:59 blaster mistake 100%. I know. I appreciate that. All we've had 20:06 is information passed to us from officers investigating the a serious matter as to whether 20:13 just on not today but it has happened recently. 20:18 Okay. It's 12 minutes past 1 minute time. You're under arrest suspicion of murder. 20:24 Do you understand the offense? You're under arrest for the meantime. Okay. Suspicion of murder for an incident which occurred in Sulford. All right. 20:31 So, you were taken to police station for question regarding that. Okay. I go with you. Any questions? 20:50 Do it again if you want. Right. I've seen that. What's your 20:56 What's your 21:05 And just like that, they had him. Marson was now finally in handcuffs. Once they had him, everything began to fall into 21:12 place because after realizing where he lived, they learned that his housemate Stuart had actually been missing for 21:18 weeks. And of course, that would end the mysterious identity of their victim. By the way, it is actually a miracle that 21:23 officer Deli spotted Marson when she did because, as it turns out, Marson was going to move out of that property later 21:29 that day. And with him searching for places to live in Spain, well, that would have made things a whole lot 21:34 harder for officers. After a quick sweep of the property and then a couple rounds of DNA testing, officers would learn 21:41 everything they needed to know. And sadly, Stuart was in fact confirmed to be the victim. When they began to 21:47 inspect Marson's bedroom, they found a few horrible clues. For example, the carpet that lay beneath would tell its 21:53 own story. It turns out that Stuart's blood had soaked right through the underlay and deep into the floorboards. 21:59 Under a UV light, more blood was found, and in the fridge freezer, DNA matching Stuart was also confirmed. This was only 22:06 the beginning, by the way, because under a UV light, more blood was discovered. Meanwhile, downstairs and in the fridge 22:12 freezer, DNA matching Stuart was found. Now, you would think that getting caught red-handed would probably crack someone 22:19 wide open, but Marson, not at all. In fact, he was actually stone cold and 22:24 said nothing in the interrogation room. So, naturally, the search would then fall to the boots on the ground. And 22:29 over the following days, detectives comb through rivers, woodlands, urban wastelands, and reservoirs, and in the 22:35 end found 19 separate crime scenes. However, in the end, only onethird of 22:40 Stuart's body was discovered, which means even to this day, more than twothirds of him are still out there 22:46 waiting to be discovered. Detectives would eventually learn that Marson had circled Black Leach Reservoir several 22:52 times. Deep beneath the water, divers dredged up a hacksaw, and on its blade, 22:58 Stuart's blood was discovered clear as day. But perhaps the most chilling discovery was still yet to come. Because 23:04 in a stroke of good luck, divers would find all four parts of Stuart's skull. It had been broken into four separate 23:10 fragments during the attack before then being scattered into different parts of that large murky reservoir. 23:17 Anyway, when it came to Marson's trial, things were not looking good. A forensic pathologist reconstructed Stuart's skull 23:24 before then confirming what investigators had already believed. That he had been murdered by multiple blows 23:30 to the head with an object that was reminiscent to the hammer that Marson had purchased. And as for his defense, 23:37 well, that didn't stand a chance. Not only was his DNA all over the murder weapon, but it was also sprinkled over 23:44 dozens of other articles of evidence. Detectives poured over more than 2,000 hours of surveillance footage, collected 23:50 over 3,000 exhibits, and took statements from more than 450 witnesses. And 23:56 obviously, nearly everything pointed straight back towards him. Oh, and here's a picture of the sofa under UV 24:03 light. Not only was it drenched in Stuart's blood, but Marson's DNA was all over it, too. I mean, the man even paid 24:10 to have that blood soaked sofa hidden away in a storage unit, hoping that no one would ever find it. And how about 24:15 that birthday card that he had sent to Stuart's family pretending to be him still alive and well. Yeah, the 24:21 handwriting was confirmed to belong to Marson, and the paper itself was covered with his grubby fingerprints. The 24:27 prosecution would also highlight many additional details, such as purchasing a hacksaw and a hammer in advance, and the 24:34 messages he had sent on behalf of Stuart in the days following his murder. The judge would also express his repulsion 24:40 towards Marson, recognizing that he showed an extremely distasteful willingness and perhaps even enthusiasm 24:46 to butchering his friend's body. Even throughout his trial, Marson denied having any involvement in Stuart's 24:52 murder. In fact, he would still call it one giant misunderstanding. But the jury saw right through his lies, and in March 24:58 of 2025, and following a 3-week trial, they officially found him guilty of murder. They determined that the motive 25:05 was plain and simple greed. because Martin had racked up an irreoverable amount of debt and so he thought he 25:11 could simply kill Stuart and then siphon all his money. As a result, Marson was sentenced to life in prison with a 25:17 minimum term of 34 years behind bars, which thankfully means that at the very earliest he won't be free again until 25:23 208. And by then, Marson's going to be 76 years old. 25:29 This is a deeply sad story about a man who gave so much to his community only to be betrayed and then exploited by 25:36 someone he trusted. Although Stuart wasn't in the best of health when he died, he had never lost his zest for 25:42 life. He was known for being jolly, friendly, and mildmannered, a caring man who remained very close to his family 25:49 right until the end. Friends describe him as a gentle and sociable soul with an upbeat personality. And one of his 25:55 friends put it quite simply that he was the kind of man that everyone got on with. Someone who was easy to talk to 26:01 and always ready with a warm welcome. In a statement, Stuart's family said, "Even 26:07 though it has been almost 12 months, we are still haunted by Benny's death, which has now been made even more 26:13 painful knowing the lengths that were taken to planet. It is truly difficult to put into words how much he meant to 26:20 us and how much we will all miss him. Stuart was a true historian and 26:26 collector and unfortunately with him holding all of his family's old paperwork, well, all of that was lost 26:32 when Marson threw all of it into the skip. He threw away decades of wedding photos, birth certificates, memories, 26:38 and memoirs. And so it turns out that not only is Marson a horrible killer, but also a vile parasite who denied an 26:45 entire family of their heritage. I mean, the man quite literally went to a KFC after dumping a body part in the park. 26:52 Who even does that? It remains eerily unclear if other parts of Stuart will ever be found because even to this day, 26:58 Marson remains uncooperative. But perhaps through time, the monster will eventually change his mind. After all, 27:05 he has a very long time to think about it. I don't think there is much to debate in this story because the 27:10 evidence available is very cut and dry. But saying that, I would love to know what you think about this one because 27:15 the story is absolutely wild. So, with that said, please share your thoughts in the comments section down below cuz I 27:20 genuinely like to read them. You know, the reason that this case stuck so deeply with me is the sheer and almost 27:27 casual heartlessness behind it. Because Marson wasn't a stranger of some passing mate, but he had known Stuart for years. 27:34 He was quite literally welcomed into his home and given stability, support, and a deep friendship. And yet somehow all of 27:41 that kindness was returned in the most horrifying and betraying way possible. It is moments like this that remind you 27:47 that some people are capable of extreme cruelty, even to those who have done nothing but show love, care, and support 27:54 back to them. So our next case takes us from England all the way down to Argentina. And although most of the CASE 2 28:00 details are very different, this theme of betrayal by a close one remains hauntingly similar. And so on that note, 28:07 please grab yourself another coffee because this is the case of Catalina Gutierrez. 28:12 This is Catalina Gutierrez, an influencer and budding architect who lived in the heart of Argentina. But on 28:19 a random evening in July of 2024, she would suddenly vanish, leaving her family, friends, and more than 100,000 28:27 followers in fear. While the police slowly clocked in to investigate, Catalina's parents were hard at work 28:32 listening to rumors growing around town. And after following reports of an ominous vehicle, they were left with a 28:39 very chilling discovery. But sadly, that would only be the beginning of horrible shocks to this terrible story. 28:47 Welcome, or welcome back to Coffee House Crime, folks. My name is Adrian, and today we're diving into the horrible 28:52 world of betrayal, suppression, and rejection. Oh, and we're heading to Argentina for this one. staying loyal to 28:58 our international true crime series. By the way, if you'd like to see more true crime and coffee, then please do 29:03 consider subscribing. And now, with that out the way, please grab yourself a coffee and let's caffeinate while we 29:08 investigate. This is the case of Catalina Guuter. 29:20 Buenos dios folks, and welcome to the enchanting land of Argentina. Nestled between the towering Andes of Chile and 29:26 the vast expanse of the Atlantic Ocean, Argentina proudly holds the title of the 29:31 eighth largest country in the world. Now, this should come as no surprise to you, but it has an extraordinarily 29:38 diverse and expansive landscape that bursts with life at every single turn. However, beneath this picturesque 29:44 surface lies a darker reality. The beauty of Argentina's natural wonders is marred by the shadows of deforestation 29:52 and pollution, which of course is driven by the relentless march of expansive farming and grazing for the food 29:58 industry, all in the name of profit. And unfortunately, that is not the only thing falling prey here. The very fabric 30:05 of Argentine society is threatened, much like its environment. That's because corruption runs deep within the economic 30:12 veins of this country as Argentina grapples with the crime rate much higher than the global average which includes 30:18 the distinction of having the ninth highest murder rate in the entire world. So sadly, I guess you could say it is no 30:25 wonder why we're drawn to explore this nation today. Our journey takes us back to the year 2023 and to the vibrant city 30:32 of Cordoba. You can find Cordoba roughly 500 miles northwest of the bustling 30:37 capital Buenoseres. I suppose you could describe Cordoba as a key economic, 30:42 political, and educational center, making it one of the wealthiest cities in the country. However, much like the 30:49 rest of the nation, it does also face extremely high crime rates, ranging from small things like pickpocketing and 30:56 scams, right the way through to murders and drug trafficking, which of course keeps the police busy. It was on the 31:02 warm evening of July the 18th, 2023 that a heavy air of unease settled over a 31:08 small family from the Analdi neighborhood. And that's because their daughter, Catalina Gutierrez, was 31:14 missing. And as the moon set and the sun began to rise, there was still no sign 31:19 of her whatsoever. The Guteras family tried to stay hopeful, but as the hours 31:24 ticked by, that concern would slowly turn into dread. And so together and 31:29 making the right decision, they walked through the doors of their local police station to report her as missing. The 31:35 group was a somber mix of Catalina's closest circle, including her mother Elanora, her father Marcelo, her sister 31:43 Lucia, her boyfriend Lazaro Alvea, and her friend Neestor Sto. The group 31:49 reported that the last time anyone saw Catalina was around 9:00 p.m. the evening before. It is noted that she was 31:55 in good spirits and left her family to meet friends for a casual night of bowling at the patio shopping center 32:02 which is a popular spot in the heart of the city. Before heading out, she sent a cheerful voice message to her boyfriend 32:08 Lazaro, assuring him that she was on her way and that she was looking forward to seeing him soon. Sadly, that promise was 32:15 never fulfilled because Catalina would never arrive at the shopping center. In fact, that voice message that she had 32:22 sent to him would be the last one that anyone would ever receive from her. As the hours crept into the night, her 32:29 loved ones grew increasingly alarmed. Not only would calls to her phone go unanswered, but her texts remained 32:36 unread, which really was an anomaly for Catalina, who was never without her phone and would always respond when in 32:43 need. It was in that moment that her friends, who were confused and worried, reached out to her family, only to 32:49 discover that they too had heard nothing since she left the home. As the night dragged on, so did their restless pacing 32:56 and their silent prayers. And by morning, well, that brought no relief either because there was no sign of 33:02 Catalina and no reassuring message to explain her absence. And as we know, by 33:08 midday, they decided to head down to the police station. Lazaro and Neesa would join the family shortly after with their 33:15 presence a clear testament not only to the love but also the concern that Catalina inspired in those around her. 33:22 And with no confidence in the situation, it is no surprise that they all demanded support immediately. 33:30 Now, unfortunately, the news of Catalina's disappearance came at the same time as a few other unsettling 33:35 rumors. Residents from another neighborhood in the city called the authorities to report of an unfamiliar 33:40 face lurking in the shadows. And by sunrise, they noticed an unknown vehicle on the side of the road. With smoked out 33:47 windows, bystanders could not get a proper view inside the vehicle. Not that they wanted to, because not only was it 33:53 damaged, but it rire of ash. And as you may or may not be guessing, a horrible 33:58 surprise lay within. But before we continue, who precisely was Catalina Guuter? And how did this horrible 34:06 mystery unfold? Catalina Guuter was born in the year 2003 to her devoted parents Elanora 34:13 Volenvider and Marcelo Guuterz. It was shortly after her birth that the family 34:18 of four which was completed by her older sister Lucia decided to settle on the outskirts of Cordoba city where they 34:25 would then go on to build a warm and nurturing home. Her father, Marcelo, was a renowned architect, which of course 34:32 brought creativity and ambition into the household, while her mother, Elanora, 34:37 devoted herself to raising their two daughters, ensuring that they all had a very happy and balanced lifestyle. 34:44 Catalina and Lucia shared an unshakable sisterly bond. They were well known to grow up not only as siblings, but also 34:51 as best friends. It was no one other than their father who sincerely appreciated this closeness, proudly 34:58 saying that his daughters had a divine connection and would rarely quarrel as they grew up. Catalina was very close to 35:04 her father, too, and she leaned into his passions. This mostly included music and travel, and from a young age, he would 35:12 even teach her to play the guitar, which is a skill that she would enjoy throughout her teenage years. Inspired 35:18 by her father's passion in his career, Catalina dreamed of following him in his footsteps. And so after graduating from 35:25 high school, she made that dream become a reality by enrolling in the University of Cordoba to study architecture. 35:32 Catalina was more than just a bright student. She was so radiant to be around 35:37 as described by her friends. Her friendly, bubbly, and confident personality made her absolutely 35:43 magnetic. and her beauty and her charm extended well beyond her immediate circle. We know this because she was 35:50 actually very popular through social media. Through her Instagram and her Tik Tok accounts, Catalina shared many 35:56 snapshots of her life. This included her stylish outfits, her adventures around Cordoba, her travels with friends and 36:03 family, and the cherished moments she spent with her sister Lucia and of course her dog. Her content resonated 36:10 widely amongst people as in total she would amass over 100,000 followers on 36:15 Instagram and 35,000 followers on Tik Tok. It was through this online popularity that she would also find 36:21 sponsorship opportunities from local brands which not only provided her a sense of business ownership but also 36:28 financial support for her studies. moving into university. This would also bring many new connections and 36:34 opportunities which in her case included love. And it was around this time that 36:39 she would cross paths with a man named Lazaro Lvida. Both studying architecture and sharing a deep Christian faith, 36:46 Catalina and Lazaro quickly found common ground. Their connection grew naturally 36:51 and not before long their bond blossomed into a loving relationship. They soon 36:56 became official and it was clear to everyone around them just how smitten they were with each other. Their love 37:03 was undeniable and they were very open about their relationship too. Often sharing many pictures of their life 37:09 together on social media, a move that for many female influencers is often considered to be detrimental to their 37:16 image. The couple stayed in constant contact with each other. So much so that on the night she disappeared, we know 37:23 that her final message was sent to him. Her voice message was short but sweet and unfortunately was sure to leave a 37:30 chilling impression on him in the hours after. All she said was, "I'm on my way, my love. See you soon." 37:38 With Lazaro not only being her partner, but also the last one to hear from her. He was destined to be a key person of 37:45 interest. However, his alibi was rock solid because not only was he with friends in the middle of a shopping 37:50 center, but this center was littered with surveillance cameras. So officers deemed him to be innocent very quickly. 37:56 Now it is worth noting here that with Catalina being an adult and also an adult who hadn't been missing for more 38:02 than 24 hours, the police were quite reluctant to get involved at this stage. And so as you can imagine, especially in 38:08 a city that is quite rife in crime, her case was not treated with immediate haste. However, this did not sit well 38:14 with her family because they knew at the bottom of their hearts that she would never leave them in the dark like that. 38:20 And so they decided to do their own investigating, retracing Catalina's movements on the night of July the 16th, 38:27 her family pieced together the final moments leading up to her disappearance. Now they knew that she had left home in 38:34 her mother's silver Renault Cleo and then planned to pick up her close friend Neestor Sto before then heading to the 38:40 patio shopping center. So naturally, this was a good place to start. However, 38:46 when her mother called Nester to check in, he told her that Catalina never actually arrived and therefore failed to 38:54 pick him up. Glancing out of his window, he saw nothing unusual in his quiet residential street. And after realizing 39:01 that something was arai, he decided to reach out to Lazaro in the morning. By 39:06 now, Lazaro was deeply worried about his girlfriend. And so, the two began to 39:12 search for Catalina. But sadly, despite their efforts, they would find no trace 39:17 of her. By midday, they joined her family at the police station. While filing the report, Catalina's sister 39:24 would reveal that they always shared the locations via their phones for safety. And so, checking Catalina's iPhone, 39:31 Lucia found it to be pinging at 3900 Pedo Ch, which is a residential area 39:36 found in South Cordova. Rather concerningly, this lead would coincide with reports from other neighborhood 39:43 residents. Residents who called the authorities to report that strange people had been lurking in the area the 39:49 night prior and that an unfamiliar car had now appeared overnight. The connection between these detailed seemed 39:55 to be far too coincidential, therefore prompting the police to investigate and find out what was going on with that 40:02 vehicle. And sadly, what they found would irreparably shatter the lives of 40:07 the Quera's family. Upon arriving at the scene, officers 40:13 would spot the silver Renault Cleo parked along the roadside. Inside the vehicle's back seat, they made a grim 40:20 discovery. That being the partially burned remains of a young woman. As you can likely guess, the victim was soon 40:27 identified to be Catalina. It appeared that the fire had been set hastily and rather unsuccessfully, leaving most of 40:34 her body intact. The area was then sealed off for investigation, while Catalina's remains were sent in for 40:41 autopsy, and the autopsy's results would reveal a horrifying truth. The fire had 40:47 not been the cause of her death and merely was an attempt to destroy all evidence. The actual cause was 40:53 asphixxiation and her body bore multiple physical injuries which suggested that she had been violently attacked. With 41:00 the discovery of Catalina's remains, the missing person's report was naturally turned into a homicide investigation. 41:07 With that said, two key questions emerged here. Who was responsible for her murder and why? 41:16 From here on out, the authorities were quick to identify several key suspects, which, as we know, included her 41:22 boyfriend, Lazaro. However, as we know, surveillance cameras and eyewitnesses would rule him out quite early. And so, 41:28 with that in mind, the authorities diverted their attention to the next person who should have seen her, that 41:33 being Neesa. And when detectives learned that he had no rocksolid alibi, they decided to dig a little deeper. As I've 41:40 already said, she was expected to pick him up so the two could then go to the mall together. But as we know, he claims 41:46 that she never actually made it to his property, which is quite interesting to say the least, because that is not what 41:52 her mobile phone data was saying. Phone records show that she had spent a total of 38 minutes outside or around his 41:59 property. And when they decided to look even closer, they realized that Nester had deleted several text messages, 42:06 which, if you ask me, are not really the actions of an innocent man. And so with the spotlight now slowly focusing on 42:12 him, I think it's about time to introduce you to Nester Sto. 42:17 Netor known by his friends as Nuni was a friend of Catalina. Originally from the 42:22 Baralosshi region of Argentina, which is a stunning area near the Chilean border, Nester made a significant move to pursue 42:30 his dream of studying architecture. Of course, it was this ambition that eventually brought him into Catalina's 42:36 life. Their social circles overlapped and eventually the two became close friends. They got on very well. However, 42:44 Catalina was already in a committed relationship. Not only that, but she never expressed any romantic interest in 42:51 Nester either. To Catalina, their bond was purely platonic. Netor was a regular 42:56 visitor to the Guerrera's household, and he would even spend plenty of time around her boyfriend and her dog. So, 43:04 his boundaries should have been very obvious. not only to him but also to others. He joined family barbecues, 43:11 studied with Catalina, and played with the family dog. And so, by all accounts, he seemed like a harmless and a 43:17 supportive friend, with Catalina's mother recalling nothing unusual about him. However, beneath the surface, 43:24 Nester harbored deep feelings far beyond friendship. In fact, he was obsessively 43:29 in love with Catalina to the point where his admiration bordered on fantasy. He 43:35 would seize every opportunity to spend time with her, frequently contacted her, and was a constant presence in her 43:41 online lifestyle, engaging with many posts at every single turn. Although he would outwardly respect her relationship 43:48 with Lazaro, it did become quite clear that his suppressed emotions were simmering dangerously close to the 43:55 surface, rather concerningly. But as soon as Nester fell into detective spotlight, there were several troubling 44:02 stories about his past which emerged. For example, a former classmate of Catalina's shared a disturbing encounter 44:09 with him at camp where he had attempted to force himself on her after a night out. Apparently, she had to physically 44:16 push him away and shout at him after he refused to take no for an answer. Another woman who was a former 44:22 girlfriend of his would also come forward to describe Neesa as possessive and extremely controlling during the 44:29 relationship. These two revelations painted a chilling picture of a man who when denied what he wanted could lash 44:36 out not only in dangerous but also violent ways. So, if he could behave so 44:42 aggressively towards a classmate in a casual setting, then what might he be capable of when consumed by an obsessive 44:49 infatuation with someone that he could never have? Well, despite these dark undercurrents, Catalina never expressed 44:56 any concerns about Nester. To her, he was simply one of her closest friends and someone she trusted and welcomed 45:02 into her life. This information along with the mobile phone data was finally enough to obtain 45:08 a search warrant and also arrest Nester while they searched his property. In the meantime, he was questioned about 45:13 Catalina's death. And well, let me just say that during that interview, it became quite clear that he was not 45:20 naturally good at lying. While being questioned, his story would change from, "I never saw her that night." to, "Well, 45:25 okay, maybe I saw her, but only for a couple minutes." It was quite clear that he did not know how to handle the 45:31 pressure. And with more questions being asked, he became even more visibly shaken. And that, my friends, is when he 45:37 finally broke down before bursting into tears and muttering the words, "She was the love of my life." What came next was 45:44 a gruesome confession and a confession that left Catalina's family absolutely disgusted at this man who they once 45:50 considered a good friend. With Nester in custody and under 45:55 questioning and plenty of evidence mounting against him, detectives created a rough timeline of the night in 46:02 question, detectives concluded that Catalina had left the family home at around 9:00 p.m. before then sending a 46:08 message to Netor to say that she was on her way. Nester responded twice before then deleting the entire conversation, 46:16 which as we now know was an early attempt to cover his tracks. By the time she arrived at his home, Netor was 46:22 waiting for her. The exact details of what transpired still unfortunately remains unclear. However, investigators 46:29 believe that while the car was still stationary outside of his home, he revealed his true romantic feelings for 46:36 her. And when Catalina rejected him, well, that is when he snapped and the situation escalated into violence. While 46:43 still seated in her mother's car, she was then subjected to a brutal attack from one of her best friends. The 46:50 evidence available suggests that Nester strangled her before then inflicting multiple blunt force trauma injuries 46:56 across her body. Despite the violence, there were no defensive wounds on Netor, which indicated that Catalina may have 47:02 not had any chance to fight back. Tragically, after taking her life, he then moved Catalina's body to the back 47:09 seat of the car and then drove away. At roughly 10:20 p.m., a traffic camera 47:14 captured Elanora's silver Renault Cleo traveling along Valpareo Avenue, a main road between Nester's home and the 47:21 location where the car and her remains would later be discovered. He then drove to 3900 Pedro Aar Street where he then 47:28 parked the car and attempted to set it on fire to destroy all evidence. However, this is where he would make one 47:35 crucial oversight, and that was leaving Catalina's phone inside the vehicle. the 47:40 phone, which would later be used to find her location. But then again, the scene was left in such a careless state that 47:47 it likely wouldn't have taken long for her body to be found. In a calculated effort to appear innocent, Nester then 47:54 called Catalina's mother only a few minutes after setting her daughter on fire. He called her mother a total of 48:00 eight times, claiming that he hadn't seen Catalina and pretending to look out of his window for her. He would even 48:07 join her boyfriend Lazaro in the search efforts the following morning and then would join the family at the police 48:13 station. When Catalina's body was then found, Neestor comforted her family, hugged Elanora, and would even share in 48:20 their grief, all while knowing that he was the actual cause. As we know, this horrible, calculated behavior was a cold 48:27 attempt to deflect any suspicion and maintain the facade that he was apparently a concerned friend. In 48:34 hindsight, many of Nester's actions did actually appear suspicious. However, at the time, his deceitful efforts were 48:41 enough to avoid any sort of immediate detection, and as we know, the full extent of his betrayal would only become 48:47 apparent as the investigation progressed. To add to the evidence, police officers would later find her 48:53 ring hidden inside his bedroom, a gruesome trophy to keep after murdering his best friend. With all of this 49:00 evidence and Neestor's initial confession taken into account, he was then arrested and charged with 49:05 aggravated homicide. And although his original confession was in fact submitted as evidence once legal 49:12 proceedings began and he secured legal representation, he then refused to provide any further recorded statements 49:18 or confessions. So although he has yet to actually stand trial, I do think it 49:24 is quite obvious how this will end, considering that his initial confession is more than enough to sink him. As of 49:30 the time of publishing this video, Nester still remains in preventative detention just outside of Cordoba, where 49:37 no surprise, he often receives death threats from many other inmates. Given his young age and skinny build, he is 49:43 considered to be quite vulnerable to violence, coercion, and other things within the prison environment. and on 49:50 that basis he is usually kept away from the other inmates. After further review by law enforcement, an additional charge 49:57 of gender violence was added to his case. Combined with the charge of aggravated homicide by treachery, Nester 50:03 now faces the possibility of a life sentence, which obviously is bad news for him and the rest of his time alive. 50:10 From here on out, digital forensics are expected to shed further light on the nature of his relationship with 50:16 Catalina, which quite understandably could significantly influence the jury's decision. Understanding the dynamics of 50:22 their relationship is quite crucial here, as it may help clarify Nester's motives and even determine whether the 50:29 attack was premeditated. But according to the prosecutor's office, this case is considered 50:34 straightforward. Unless new and unexpected evidence emerges, there is now no indication that this trial will 50:41 face any delays. However, Neestor's psychological state is also a factor to 50:46 be considered, which is quite interesting because so far he has refused to cooperate with his defense 50:52 team regarding any psychiatric or psychological evaluation. Rushing to his defense, his mother has claimed that he 50:59 was under severe stress when leading up to the crime. though quite honestly it remains extremely difficult to feel any 51:06 sympathy for him. Despite his silence on the matter, Nester has reportedly expressed severe remorse through his 51:12 attorney. He has also offered an apology to Catalina's family, though he has yet to issue any formal statement about her 51:19 murder. As you may expect, this case sent shock waves across Argentina. Both Catalina 51:26 and Nester were young, intelligent, and full of potential. And with both of these lives being wasted, it really did 51:32 surprise the nation. This story is a sobering reminder of the devastating consequences of not only unchecked 51:38 emotions, but also hidden obsessions. With this case still unresolved at the time of this video being posted, 51:43 Catalina's family are still yet to find the closure they need, and they still mourn the loss of their daughter. Her 51:49 body still remains in police custody, as it may be used as evidence in Nether's trial. Quite naturally, this is a 51:55 horrible situation for Catalina's family to be in. who desperately wished to cremate her as soon as possible. 52:01 Catalina's father, who is overwhelmed with grief, has since shared his anguish with reporters. He said, "I am in pain 52:09 and I don't understand it. The only thing I want is justice and for him to rot in prison for the rest of his life 52:16 because he does not deserve to live in this society." As the legal proceedings continue, Catalina's friends, family, 52:23 and peers are all left to grieve without any closure. At the start of the new semester, her classmates honored her 52:29 memory by placing a sign on an empty chair which read, "Kata should be here." Meanwhile, and online, fans who were 52:37 touched by Catalina paid tribute to her and described her as a poor angel. 52:42 Collectively, they all call for justice through Neestor's trial, all while remembering her and the impact on her 52:48 community. But for her family, this loss is deeply personal and immeasurable. They remember Catalina as a joyful, 52:56 generous, and loving individual, a perfect student with a promising future. To them, she was the embodiment of 53:03 happiness, kindness, and music. And her absence has left an unfillable void in 53:08 their daily lives. As they navigate this heartbreaking journey, one can only hope that the future brings justice. To me, 53:15 it is very clear that her tragic passing has touched many people across the country and my heart goes out not only 53:22 to her family but her friends too. Now, unfortunately, that is all the 53:28 information I have at the time of this video being published. But as this case continues to progress through trial, I 53:33 promise to update you either in the pinned comments or on social media. With that said, if you would like to stay updated, then please do consider 53:40 subscribing to this channel or checking me out on social media, most notably my Instagram. Now, personally, I think it 53:46 is extremely obvious that Nester will go down as guilty in this case, but what do you think will happen? As always, please 53:52 share your thoughts in the comment section down below. So, Nero hasn't had much screen time recently, so um I 53:58 thought I'd give you a bit of an update. Um he's really enjoying Australia and uh yeah, he was getting quite skinny. Um 54:04 weren't you? Yeah, you were getting quite skinny when you um when you flew over. So, he's gained over a kilo and a 54:10 half now, and he's looking nice and chunky and healthy. And um yeah, don't tell him I said this, but he's quite 54:16 scared of the Australian birds. Also, he has no idea how many people actually love him, which is crazy. So, our next 54:23 case today was picked by Coffee House Crimes main editor, Callum, and is said to have affected him more than most. CASE 3 54:29 When officers stepped inside a quiet and small backyard shed in Waller County, Texas, they were not prepared for what 54:35 they would discover. And let's just say that what began as initial investigation would soon turn into a haunting 54:41 nightmare. And tragically, all of this was actually captured on a body cam. Despite all of these details, it's 54:48 actually what happened afterwards that made the story so dark and complex. You're definitely going to need another 54:53 copy for this one, folks. So, on that note, this is the case of Angie Diaz. I 54:59 got as far as a doorway. I didn't Yeah, don't go in. Oh, this is a murder scene. 55:05 uh decapitation. Uh it was a ugly ugly 55:11 spot. Trudging through fallen leaves, officers approached a family's cabin under suspected reports of a headless body. 55:18 The moment they stepped through the door, officers were hit with a scene so brutal it left even the most seasoned 55:24 among them stunned into silence. And it became evident to all personnel that whoever she was, this was no accident. 55:32 The officers attending the property didn't know this yet, but they had just uncovered one of the most horrific 55:38 crimes that Waller County had ever seen. And after making their way to the main building, well, they would discover 55:43 several more disturbing details. And then it was up to them to piece together a story filled with rage, jealousy, and 55:51 unfathomable behavior. Welcome, or welcome back to Coffee House Crime, folks. My name is Adrian, and today 55:56 we're looking at a horrific story. one that is known as the case of Jared Dykus 56:02 or Angie Diaz. And so with that said, please do grab yourself a coffee and let's caffeinate while we investigate. 56:19 Welcome back to Texas, land of white skies, bigger personalities, and the kind of history that's carved deep into 56:26 American folklore. You might know it as cowboy country or the Lonear State. And 56:31 let's be honest, when you hear the word Texas, you know exactly what kind of place we're talking about. Because Texas 56:38 is not just a state. It's a story and a legend. One that is built on horseback 56:43 and held together by grit and gunpowder. It was once home to a wild and unruly 56:49 era. One where cowboys roamed free, where saloons stood as gathering grounds, and where outlaws like Jesse 56:55 James, Billy the Kid, and Butch Cassidy became icons of lawlessness. They hijacked trains, rustled cattle, and 57:03 disappeared into the dusty plains, leaving behind many tales which were soaked in gunfire and blood. Fast 57:09 forward to modern times, and Texas still hasn't quite shaken off its dark edge. With some of the highest homicide rates 57:16 in the country, crime here does tend to cluster around its sprawling cities. And 57:21 today we will be heading near one of them. Not Austin, the capital, but Houston, which is Texas most populated 57:28 city. A place where steel towers and crime stats are as high as their temperatures. But our story today does 57:35 not unfold downtown. No, it begins roughly 50 mi northwest of the city in a 57:41 quiet corner of Waller County and in a neighborhood called Oak Hollow Boulevard. It's a place that people move 57:47 to when they want to get away from that urban lifestyle. And I mean really away. 57:52 For example, there is only one store here and basically not much else. It's 57:57 peaceful, serene, and tucked far away from the chaos of the city. Which is precisely why when a frantic 911 call 58:05 came through on the morning of January the 11th, 2023, reporting a scene that would haunt even the most seasoned of 58:12 officers, absolutely nobody was prepared for what they were about to find. 58:18 Wer County 911. Yes, ma'am. My name is Rodney Dakis. I need an ambulance and police call. 58:27 Okay. What's going on? I don't know everything, but my son's 58:34 wife is dead. Please. Okay. I told her that two days ago to keep him. 1:00:29 Ma'am, I somebody I know they're they're they're coming. They're coming. I promise you they're 1:00:35 coming. Okay. Just stay on the phone with me. 1:00:41 Jared, sit down in the chair. Get up off your knees and sit down in the chair. Just sit. Help's coming. It's going to 1:00:48 be okay. Fine. I 1:00:55 Oh, I told I had him in the hospital two days ago. 1:01:00 He revealed voices. I told the doctor to get through the doctor said it was like 1:01:07 When deputies arrived at the 200th block of Oak Hollow Boulevard, they were met by Rodney Dykus and his wife, an 1:01:13 olderlooking couple who at the time were deeply disturbed by what they had just discovered. They told the officers that 1:01:19 earlier that day, their son Jared had returned home, but something seemed off about him. He was more quiet than usual 1:01:26 and just generally off-kilter. And as he made his way to the back of the property, which is where he lived with 1:01:32 his wife, Angie Diaz, he said something extraordinarily strange. Strange enough to make his parents deeply worried. Now, 1:01:39 at first, they just tried to shake these comments off because maybe Jared was just having a bad day. But as the day 1:01:44 dragged on, well, those feelings started to nag away in their stomach. And so Rodney, as curious as ever, decided to 1:01:51 walk down to their cabin to make sure everything was all right. And it was there on that stretch of land that he 1:01:57 found something so horrifying that it would stay with him forever. And well, now you know what that 911 call was all 1:02:04 about. When deputies arrived, they were met with a large rural plot of land with 1:02:09 weathered fences, scraps of timber scattered about and a few dogs trottting freely around the yard. Found at the 1:02:16 edge of the property stood a modest wooden structure which looked more like a hut or a cabin than a home. You can 1:02:22 see it quite clearly here in the footage captured from one of the officers body cameras. And let's just say that what 1:02:29 lay inside was worse than anyone could have imagined. I got as far 1:02:34 I got as far as the doorway. I didn't go. Yeah, don't go in. Oh, this is a murder scene. Decapitation. 1:02:40 Inside the cabin, the scene that greeted deputies was nothing short of horrifying. The small wooden structure, 1:02:46 which was barely held together by makeshift construction, was a cluttered and chaotic living space. The walls were 1:02:53 unfinished with exposed timber in some places and no insulation or drywall in 1:02:59 sight. An old air conditioning unit jutted out from a sheet of chipboard. And in the corner sat a grubby mattress 1:03:06 perched on a crude improvised bed frame. But it wasn't only the fact that the cabin was crudely built. Because on the 1:03:13 inside it was an absolute mess, too. Clothes littered the floor. Discarded food containers and rubbish were strewn 1:03:20 everywhere. And piles of junk were stacked haphazardly alongside the walls. It was the kind of place that looked 1:03:26 like it had never known comfort. only survival. But still, none of that compared to what really drew the 1:03:33 officer's attention because what they found inside was a blood bath. Tiny 1:03:38 droplets of blood spattered across the timber walls, suggesting a violent, frenzied attack. In addition to this, 1:03:45 the floor was smeared with dark, sticky stains, and found across the boards, bloody footprints tracked through the 1:03:52 room. Lying beside the bed and almost swallowed by the shadows of the cabin lay the body of a young woman. And 1:03:58 tragically, she seemed to be missing her head. And of course, it wouldn't take long for officers to confirm what they 1:04:05 had long feared. It was the body of 21-year-old Angie Diaz. Of course, the 1:04:10 next big question on their minds was who precisely were these two? While one was now quite obviously dead, the other was 1:04:17 uncontrollably sobbing only a few steps away in his parents' home. Well, to better understand the violent murder of 1:04:23 Angie Diaz and the horrific spiral beforehand, we must first go to the beginning of their story. And so, on 1:04:29 that note, you better buckle up, folks, because this one, it is definitely an intense case. 1:04:37 We begin our story in early of 2022 when Angie and Jared would first cross paths. 1:04:43 The way they met was both casual and unremarkable, at least to begin with. trying to make ends meet. Angie worked 1:04:50 at the local grocery store named Cheap's Meat Market. At the time, Jared was a regular face there. And in a rural town 1:04:57 like Oak Hollow, where there's only one store for miles and miles, running into a neighbors is kind of inevitable. Now, 1:05:04 Angie was only 20 years old. But even in a town filled with hardworking folk, she 1:05:09 stood out quite clearly. She was bright, charismatic, and full of feminine charm. the kind of person whose smile would 1:05:16 stick with you after you've left the checkout line. Now, Angie has quite the interesting backstory, and that's 1:05:22 because she had only recently arrived in the United States from Nicaragua. In the early days, she was staying with her 1:05:29 aunt, who, by coincidence or fate, would happen to live on the very same street as the Dyker's family. Like many 1:05:36 immigrants, Angie had come here with a purpose. She would often work two jobs at the time, not out of ambition, but 1:05:43 necessity. instead because her goal was to help send money back home to help pay 1:05:48 for her mother's cancer treatment. Now, despite having two jobs, Angie would still find plenty of time for herself, 1:05:55 which was especially pertinent in her fitness, a personal passion that she would often share through uplifting 1:06:01 workout videos online. She encouraged other people to join her, tracked her journey, and kept a kind of digital 1:06:08 diary that was brimming with motivation and positivity. And somewhere along the 1:06:13 way, Jared noticed being roughly the same age as Angie, what roughly started 1:06:18 as a small talk between a customer and a cashier would slowly grow into something more. The two began to date, and 1:06:25 according to those close to them, their romance seemed to move pretty quickly, too. At least faster than anyone else 1:06:32 expected. That is likely because Jared was absolutely enamored by her, and friends and family would say that she 1:06:38 seemed to bring sunshine into his life. She was bubbly and joyful, and he was drawn to her optimism, and in turn, she 1:06:46 seemed to brighten whenever he was nearby. Their engagement was incredibly fast, though, and by October of that 1:06:52 very same year, only several months after they met, the two got married. Their marriage was a simple courthouse 1:06:59 wedding, and the vicer mentioned that there was nothing unusual about the couple. He thought that they were young, 1:07:04 in love, and just eager to start their simple lives together. It was shortly after the wedding that Angie moved into 1:07:11 the small wooden cabin which was found behind the Dykus family home. As you've already seen, it was a small structure 1:07:17 nestled at the edge of the property on Oak Hollow Boulevard. It was humble and secluded and now it was home, too. 1:07:25 However, sadly, soon after the move, things began to change. Now, Angie may 1:07:31 not have known this at the time, but behind closed doors, Jared had actually been wrestling with substance abuse 1:07:37 issues. Both drugs and alcohol were already a large part of his lifestyle. 1:07:42 And unfortunately, this would only get worse over time. In fact, only one month 1:07:48 after their wedding in November of 2022, he was arrested for driving while intoxicated. And it wasn't just the DWI. 1:07:56 According to police records, Jared's behavior while at the jail was volatile. He apparently threatened officers, 1:08:02 punched walls and windows, and became so unmanageable that he even had to be restrained in a safety chair. So, it's 1:08:10 safe to say that his anger wasn't only loud, it was dangerous, too. And this is a very important thing to remember when 1:08:17 moving forward. Although that particular incident did not involve Angie directly whatsoever, those around her noticed a 1:08:24 shift shortly after. The once cheerful woman began to arrive late to work, and her bright energy seemed to be dulled 1:08:31 for one reason or another. She would at times share vague, concerning comments about Jared to friends and co-workers, 1:08:38 but would always stop short of the full details. Many of those who cared for her were left wondering how deep the trouble 1:08:45 really ran. I mean, she was still smiling in public, but it did seem to be more forced and practiced. It was only 2 1:08:52 weeks before her death that Angie posted a photo on Facebook of her and Jared standing in front of their Christmas 1:08:58 tree together. You can see from this photo that they looked like any young couple, happily wishing friends and 1:09:04 family a merry Christmas. Jared commented beneath it to say, "Merry Christmas, my beautiful wife." He would 1:09:11 even refer to her as his trophy, which some would say is quite the red flag. To 1:09:16 many of those scrolling through social media, the two of them looked like a happy couple who were madly in love. 1:09:22 However, those who knew her in real life were not so sure anymore. Moving forward, Angie posted several more 1:09:29 photos online, not only of her fitness, but also of her and Jared. He would often respond to her posts with heart 1:09:35 emojis and affectionate comments, and was very visible online, almost performatively so, kind of like he was 1:09:43 maybe trying to prove something to others. And as we know in private, 1:09:48 something was not quite right. 1:09:53 In the weeks leading up to Christmas, Angie's manager, Ruth, started to noticed that her performance had started 1:09:58 to slip. And unfortunately, that was an understatement. Ruth wasn't quite sure what was going on for her newest 1:10:05 employee, and so she decided that the two needed to chat. It was in that moment that Angie finally broke her 1:10:11 silence and she admitted to Ruth that things were sadly not going too well at home. Ruth was actually surprised with 1:10:17 how much Angie had opened up. She would even confess that ever since getting married, Jared seemed like a totally 1:10:23 different person. It wasn't just the enthusiasm or the kindness that had changed either because apparently Jared 1:10:30 was becoming increasingly jealous and this deeply worried Angie. And apparently, as it turns out, the police 1:10:36 were not strangers to the Dykus property either, and were more than aware of the growing tension between the two. In 1:10:42 fact, deputies had been called out more than several times to the property ever since their marriage. And all of these 1:10:48 reports were tied to domestic violence. Now, despite being his victim, Angie deeply loved Jared. And although she was 1:10:55 desperately trying to keep the marriage together, he just seemed to spiral further and further out of control. You 1:11:01 see, Jared was not seeking help. He was seeking escape instead. And the more that he leaned into drugs and alcohol, 1:11:08 the more it seemed to blur the lines between reality, paranoia, and rage. It was only a few days before Angie's death 1:11:14 that Jared's mental health seemed to reach some sort of new breaking point. It was at that stage that an 1:11:20 overwhelming amount of anxiety seemed to grip him. So much so that he decided to dial 911. Now, in his own kind of weird 1:11:27 and twisted way, this was Jared's desperate attempt for a cry for help. because let's be honest, he quite 1:11:33 clearly needed it. However, with so much drama happening between the two, barely anybody took notice. But even still, 1:11:40 nobody, and I do mean nobody, by the way, could have ever predicted with just how violently things were about to 1:11:47 spiral. 1:11:55 County 911. Yes, this is this is Jared Dyus. Um 1:12:02 Hello. Yes, go ahead. 1:12:08 I'm just I I did a little bit of drugs and I need help. 1:12:16 Okay. Oh. Yes. Okay. And what's the problem? 1:12:21 I just don't feel well. Okay. And you said you took drugs? 1:12:28 No, ma'am. I'm I'm I'm pretty sorry. I don't know why I called. 1:12:33 Okay. And um are you there by yourself? Is there somebody with you? Yeah, my my family's here with me. 1:12:39 Oh, your family's with you. Okay. Okay. So, you don't Everybody's here. 1:12:46 Okay. But do you need an ambulance or No. Are you good? I need an ambulance. 1:12:51 I got you. Okay. And how old are you? I'm 21 years old. 21. Okay. Are there any gates or any 1:12:58 animals on your property? There's dogs. Okay. Can y'all put those up? 1:13:04 Yes, ma'am. There are dogs. Okay, I got you. Okay, Jared, I'm going to have the ambulance on the way. Okay. 1:13:10 Okay. Thank you. You bet. Yes, sir. Bye-bye. 1:13:15 So, Jared, was it only a little hit or no drugs at all? Because that's at least 1:13:20 what he would claim later on. And it is quite hard to take someone that seriously when they're calling the 1:13:26 emergency services erratically, not once, but twice. It turns out that the ambulance did not turn up fast enough 1:13:32 for Jared's liking. And so he would make a second call to them and plead for help yet again. 1:13:39 Who are you calling? Well, 911. What's your emergency? Yes, this is Jared. 1:13:46 Hi, Mr. Jared. How can I help you? Um, yes. I'm at Colorado Boulevard. 1:13:52 Yes, sir. We have EMS and route to you. Are you okay? Did something change? Yes, ma'am. No, I'm not okay. 1:14:00 Okay. What's going on? I I just I I I did some drugs yesterday 1:14:06 and I don't feel well and I I didn't do any drugs. I don't I don't know. I'm 1:14:12 sorry. That That's okay. I have EMS and route to you. Okay. Thank you. Yes, sir. 1:14:21 Bye-bye. Byebye. The root cause of these emergency calls 1:14:27 do seem to boil down to Jared's growing insecurity of his relationship with Angie. Jared felt threatened by her 1:14:34 presence online and didn't appreciate her posts, interactions, or the attention that she was receiving. And 1:14:41 considering Angie worked in a customer-f facing role where she was expected to be friendly and approachable to everyone 1:14:48 regardless of their gender, that friction between her and Jared wasn't occasional. It was constant. As a result 1:14:54 of these things, Jared's mood would swing quite violently. He'd become spiteful, short-tempered, and 1:15:01 increasingly aggressive. It was a clear pattern that seemed to be building momentum over time. And unfortunately, 1:15:07 as a result, the cracks in their relationship were widening by the day. And these two phone calls would come 1:15:14 only a couple of weeks before another far more chilling one. Because, as we already know, it would then be Jared's 1:15:21 own father, Rodney, who would make the horrific emergency call when it was all too late. With the property now sealed 1:15:28 off for investigators to look at the crime scene, they began to comb through every single detail available. 1:15:34 Unfortunately, it was more than evident that she was already dead on arrival. And now all they could do was turn their 1:15:41 attention to the cabin and all evidence left behind. And after taking a closer 1:15:46 look, they realized just how brutal this story had become. 1:15:52 All right. So, where's the body? So, in there. Yeah. If you'd step up on the third ladder or third step, you can sneak your 1:15:59 head and see. I didn't get any further than that. up 1:16:04 here. Yeah. 1:16:10 As we know, the inside of the small cabin was drenched in blood with stains found on the floors, walls, and 1:16:16 furniture. In fact, from the sheer volume of blood alone, detectives immediately ruled out the idea of this 1:16:22 being an accident or even a calculated murder. The violence and clumsiness told them that it was something else 1:16:29 entirely. It was rage. When she was found, Angie's body was beside the bed, 1:16:34 covered in multiple stab wounds. And she had been attacked in what they could only describe as a blind and 1:16:40 uncontrollable frenzy. And nearby on the cabin floor, officers would find a bloodied kitchen knife, which had been 1:16:46 discarded carelessly, and was soon determined to be the murder weapon. 1:16:55 However, there was one crucial thing missing to all of this, and I don't quite know how to put this lightly, but 1:17:02 tragically, it was Angie's head, which of course leads me to one other horrific question. 1:17:08 Where was it? Now, thankfully, that answer would come soon enough. When officers decided to look through the 1:17:14 rest of the cabin, they slowly made their way into the cramped bathroom. And there, at the basin of the shower, they 1:17:20 found it. This was a discovery that would stop even the most seasoned of officers in their tracks because quite 1:17:26 clearly none of them were prepared to find a human head. In fact, apparently most of them needed counseling after 1:17:32 this. I mean, put quite bluntly, the entire crime scene was horrific, and it would tell a horrible story filled with 1:17:38 violence, rage, chaos, and absolute terror. So, I'm not surprised. 1:17:43 Blake said her head is somewhere else in the tub. Okay. 1:17:49 Okay. Got to wait for the C ID to get here. Okay. Ah, stay 1:17:55 stay right here real. Nobody goes in there. Hello, ma'am. I'm Deputy Lewis. 1:18:01 I think I've talked to you at the door here a while back about maybe some dogs or something. No, your son's truck. 1:18:07 Could I get your name, please, ma'am? Lynn. Terry Lynn. He told me it happened 1:18:12 this morning. I told you Jared. 1:18:18 Okay. and he has been acting really strange lately. He called an ambulance 1:18:23 on himself the other night and um said he was on drugs, but I don't believe that he was. I think something's wrong. 1:18:30 Okay, Mr. Dus, Randy Lewis, you remember me? 1:18:36 I know you. Okay. I just need to get a little just uh I'm basically just identifying folks 1:18:41 here. Yes, sir. Uh could I get your you got your ID handy? here. If you don't, you can just 1:18:47 tell me first full full name. Rodney 1:18:53 Gan with a G. Yes, sir. G E N E D I C U S. 1:19:01 And your date of birth? Junior. Junior. Is that J R? 1:19:06 Yes, sir. Do you know these folks, Judge? Okay. 1:19:32 Wayne, can we visit for a second? Got a I got a question. When you got when you got time, please. 1:19:38 Stay. Stay right there. Yes, sir. Miss Angie, do you know what her last name was before she and your brother got married? 1:19:44 What's what's Angie's last name? Do you know? Sure. Her maiden last name. I don't know. I don't know. 1:19:49 Okay. How about a date? Here's her phone. Sorry. I don't want fingerprints on her. 1:19:54 Yeah. Anyways, uh that's all you know about her. 1:20:01 Yeah. I just know she worked over there. I know she was not here. Where'd she work? Chest meat marketing. The chappies. That's where they met. Yeah. I know 1:20:08 she's here, you know. Does she Does she still work at Chepies? Yeah. Yeah. I know she's not really a 1:20:13 legal citizen, you know. I don't I'm just saying. No, I don't care either. I mean, she's family, man. 1:20:19 Okay. Okay. Thank you. Yes, sir. Yeah. Uh they said that the deceased lady and 1:20:27 old boy that's in the backseat of Dion's car got married last September. 1:20:33 Mhm. And all they know is her name is Angie. A n g y. 1:20:39 But she works at Chippies or worked at Chippies. So if she doesn't have any I'm thinking, 1:20:45 you know, we ain't gone in there. Hopefully she's got some there's some ID in there, but they could ID her if if 1:20:51 there's nothing in there. Jared, 1:20:57 Randy Lewis, you remember me? Yes, sir. You okay? Yes, sir. Jared, would you mind giving me the 1:21:03 passcode to your phone? Supposed to be a six-digit code. 1:21:08 any more to it. And that'll open it up. 1:21:13 It's not set or nothing like that. Just Okay. Thank you. 1:21:22 After carrying out one of the most gruesome acts imaginable, Jared did not run or hide. Instead, he walked a few 1:21:29 yards to his parents' home, collapsed on the floor, and cried. It was here that Waller County deputies officially placed 1:21:37 Jared under arrest, obviously under suspicion of murdering his wife, Angie. He was then taken into custody alongside 1:21:44 his family, where all of them were then transported to the station for questioning. And as detectives began the 1:21:50 grim task of piecing together what precisely happened inside that cabin, they would discover new details which 1:21:56 only seemed to deepen the horror. Determining the timeline in this case would become absolutely crucial. They 1:22:02 eventually calculated that Angie must have been killed the day before Rodney made that harrowing discovery, which of 1:22:09 course begged the question, what did Jared do in the hours that followed? And I don't know if I told y'all, but uh 1:22:15 mama, when I was just visiting with mama, she said, uh, 1:22:21 Jared told me this happened this morning. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Well, if he's been in the house since 12:30, then 1:22:27 he probably they said he got home at like 4:00 a.m. So from 4:00 a.m. to 12:30 is our window of when this 1:22:33 happened. Well, in a community as small as Oko, it doesn't take long for word or suspicion 1:22:38 to spread around. People notice things and people talk. And it didn't take long for investigators to hear from staff at 1:22:45 Cheap's Meat Market, which was the very store where Angie had worked, that they had actually seen Jared the following 1:22:52 morning at around 11:40 a.m., which would have been hours after her murder. 1:22:57 So, you may be wondering what precisely was he doing here? Was he maybe trying to like give himself an alibi or maybe 1:23:04 buy some cleaning supplies? Well, the answer was actually neither. Surveillance footage paints a very 1:23:10 different picture. one that's disturbingly casual. Jared, dressed in a t-shirt and jeans is seen strolling into 1:23:17 the store, walking up to the fridge, and then pulling out a beer. He then walks right out of the shop without paying. 1:23:24 Outside, another camera catches him standing by his car. He then cracks open the can, takes a long drink, and then 1:23:31 casually gets back into his vehicle, and drives off. There is no panic or urgency seen here, just a man drinking a beer in 1:23:38 the morning sun. Of course, after, you know, committing one of the most gruesome murders that this town has ever 1:23:45 seen. After being arrested, he confessed almost immediately. There was no lengthy 1:23:52 interrogation, no drawn out denials, and no hesitation to admitting that he had 1:23:57 murdered his wife. Of course, this left very little doubt in the minds of the investigators. But to be honest with 1:24:04 you, it wasn't exactly a mystery anyway, was it? Even without his confession, all the evidence available was confined and 1:24:11 found in that tiny little cabin. Everything seemed to fit together like one of those easy 10piece puzzles for 1:24:17 children. And Jared never tried to cover up his crime, run from the law, or deny 1:24:22 his guilt. Now, obviously during the investigation, detectives were hard at work trying to find a motive, but 1:24:29 officially we aren't actually sure what that was. There are some people that believe that apparently Angie rejected 1:24:34 his sexual advances that evening, which sent Jared into an uncontrollable rage. But on the other side of the coin, there 1:24:41 were people that were actually supporting Jared and said that he was never the violent type. But in a story 1:24:46 like this, we must follow the facts. And the facts tell a very clear story. And it's opinions like those that do make 1:24:52 you wonder, do any of us really know our neighbors? What we do know is that before Angie's death, officers had 1:24:58 already attended the property on numerous occasions, and all of these were centered around domestic violence. 1:25:04 And so whether Jared was under the influence of drugs or alcohol or not, it doesn't actually matter. The truth is he 1:25:11 had a violent side. Moving to the legal proceedings of this case, Jared's bond 1:25:16 was initially set at $500,000, which is a hefty sum by any standard. 1:25:22 But considering the brutality of the crime and his violent history, it wasn't long for prosecutors to push for more. 1:25:28 An attorney stepped in, arguing that half a million dollars simply was not enough. Not for a man who had literally 1:25:35 decapitated his wife in a fit of rage. And so, given the sheer brutality of the 1:25:40 crime scene, it was officially raised to $1 million. Naturally, this all led 1:25:46 prosecutors to question Jared's mental state. For example, was this the direct 1:25:51 result of a mental breakdown or psychotic snap? Or did his true colors just finally come out after a 1:25:58 court-ordered psychiatric evaluation? Psychologists would unanimously rule that Jared was of sound mind. It is 1:26:05 clear through his remorse and reactions that he understood what he had done. He fully understood what was coming next. 1:26:11 And so, it was for that reason alone that he was declared fit to stand trial. 1:26:17 Tonight, a 21-year-old man has admitted to authorities that he decapitated his wife. The disturbing murder happening 1:26:24 yesterday near Magnolia. The woman's body was found inside a home on Oak Hollow Boulevard. Fox 26's Matthew 1:26:30 Sedorf is in Waller County tonight where the community is mourning. Matt, there's a growing memorial tonight 1:26:36 outside of Chepes where this victim worked. Tonight, you can see the flowers, the teddy bears, the candles. 1:26:43 This woman loved in this community. By now, the word of Angie's murder had 1:26:48 spread well beyond Waller County. And this quiet rural community that once prided itself on peace and privacy was 1:26:55 now the center of a gruesome national headline. The local community and people further afar were all shocked, 1:27:02 horrified, and paying close attention to every legal update. And that wasn't only 1:27:07 your every day-to-day citizen, either. For example, even the judge who had officiated their marriage only 4 months 1:27:14 earlier was in utter disbelief. But while the prosecution was busy building their case, something rather unexpected 1:27:20 happened. And that is in a moment of surprise, Jared officially accepted a plea deal. He had chosen not to hire a 1:27:27 defense attorney, instead opting to represent himself. And through that plea agreement, he decided to wave 1:27:33 everything, including his right to appeal the verdict, his sentence, and even any potential defense that might 1:27:39 have been raised on his behalf. In response, Angie's family would give 1:27:45 their blessing for the deal to proceed. And so, without a lawyer, without a defense, and without a single appeal in 1:27:51 his back pocket, he officially made his plea of guilty to the murder of his wife. On July the 31st, 2024, the judge 1:28:00 delivered the final sentence. Jared was sentenced to 40 years behind bars and 1:28:05 furthermore would not be eligible for parole until the year 2043. That means that if he serves his full term, he 1:28:12 won't be walking free until he's 63 years old. Now, they say that you only live once. And well, for his crimes, 1:28:19 he'll be spending most of it thinking about the irreversible pain he has caused, both to Angie and to everyone 1:28:26 who loved her. Now, of course, with tragedies like this, we are left with not only heartbreak, but many questions. 1:28:32 Questions like, how did it get this far? And what could have been done to stop it? And in this case, the spotlight 1:28:39 turned towards a deeply rooted issue, not only in the United States alone, but the rest of the world. And of course, 1:28:46 I'm talking about domestic violence. In the aftermath of Angie's death, her family were faced with the unfortunate 1:28:52 reality of not being able to afford her funeral. Of course, money was already tight to begin with. That was the entire 1:28:59 reason Angie was in the US. You know, it's very sad to realize that Angie had been working two jobs to try to pay for 1:29:05 her mother's cancer treatment. And now, in some sick twist of fate, all of that hard work had been undone to pay for her 1:29:12 own funeral costs. In response, a GoFundMe campaign was launched by the public, which would in 1:29:19 turn raise over $20,000 by friends, family, and strangers all moved by her 1:29:24 story. The fundraiser described her as the light to her family and community. A small phrase, but one that perfectly 1:29:31 captures exactly who she was. A candlelight vigil was held soon after at a park near her home. People arrived 1:29:38 with flowers and handwritten messages, and all lit candles in her memory. Those who knew Angie would say that words 1:29:45 could never truly capture the kind of person that she was. She was said to be a very bright young girl who had many 1:29:52 goals in life. And a neighbor recalls that no matter what time he walked into the market and no matter how he were 1:29:58 feeling on the day, her smile would seem to just light up the room. It is clear that Angie's death not only broke hearts 1:30:05 but left a lasting scar on an entire community. And if there is any small comfort to take from this tragedy, it is 1:30:12 that the man responsible for her death did not get away with it. Jared now faces the full weight of the law. And 1:30:19 whether it was guilt, remorse, or simply resignation, he chose not to fight it. 1:30:24 He claimed a beautiful life from this world. And in return, he gave up the best years of his own. Now maybe that's 1:30:31 not enough, and maybe it never will be. But for those who loved Angie, there is some peace in knowing that he will never 1:30:38 have the chance to hurt anyone else for a very long time. 1:30:43 This story has left so much pain behind wherever you look. In fact, just listening to Jared's own father on that 1:30:49 911 call is tragic enough. The man was absolutely broken. The twisted thing is, 1:30:54 I don't think Jared even fully understands why he murdered his wife. I mean, his response both before and after 1:31:01 the fact remains an enigma. So, will we ever fully understand why all of this happened? I'm not so sure anymore. 1:31:09 Anyway, I think that pretty much covers all of my thoughts and opinions. But before I go, I'd love to know what you 1:31:14 think about this one. To begin with, what do you think about Jared's sentence? Because at the end of the day, he only received 40 years. Do you think 1:31:21 this was enough or should he have received life? And how about the motive? because to me this sounds like a 1:31:27 horrible mix of alcohol, jealousy, rage, and unchecked emotions. And of course, a 1:31:32 man who was unable to control any of it. But that's just my take. Anyway, what do you think? As always, let me know in the 1:31:38 comments down below. Now, this next video is the one that I personally found most terrifying this year. Not only CASE 4 1:31:44 because Alexandra was abducted under horrible circumstances, but also because when she actually managed to call the 1:31:50 authorities in the middle of all of this, she could quite literally tell that they didn't care. All of this would 1:31:55 happen in a small town in Romania. And when news broke out, it actually disgusted the nation so badly that it 1:32:02 sparked nationwide protests. If you haven't heard of this story yet, it's going to be one that will definitely 1:32:07 stick with you for a very long time. And so, on that note, this is the case of Alexandra Machanu. 1:32:31 In the quiet town of Caracal, Romania, Alexandra Machanu vanished without a 1:32:36 trace. One day later, her desperate calls to the emergency services prompted a dire situation, one in which she 1:32:44 desperately needed rescuing. Despite her bravery, both the operator and the authorities failed her, leading to the 1:32:51 worst possible outcome. And with that said, their grievous mistakes would cause mass outrage, which led to 1:32:57 multiple sackings and dozens of protests. When detectives eventually traced her last known location, what 1:33:04 they found was a monster lurking in the shadows, one who seemed willing to expose several terrible secrets and 1:33:11 reveal more than just one victim. So, who was Alexandra Machanu? How did 1:33:17 Louisa Mealenu become part of her story? Who is this mysterious man visible on 1:33:22 Google Maps? And how did all of their fates intertwine? Welcome, or welcome back to Coffee House 1:33:28 Crime, folks. My name is Adrian, and in this video, we're looking at one of Romania's most infamous modern-day 1:33:34 cases. Now, we don't usually get to visit Eastern Europe on this channel, and so today, we're looking at a very 1:33:39 peculiar story. And now with that said, please grab yourself a coffee and let's investigate. This is the case of Gorg 1:33:46 Dinka. 1:33:54 Welcome to Romania, folks. Now, I don't think we've covered this country before, so here is a quick rundown for you. 1:34:00 Formerly part of the Iron Curtain, Romania has long struggled with its position between the Communist East and 1:34:07 the Democratic West. With 19 million residents, it's one of Europe's largest nations, which at least when compared to 1:34:14 other European countries, is also remarkably quiet in the news. And interesting fact, but did you know that 1:34:21 Romania is home to one of Europe's largest underground glaciers? Today, we're focusing on a small city named 1:34:28 Caracal, which is located near the country's southern border. Derived from the name Black Fortress, Caracal was the 1:34:34 regional capital for quite some time with its population peaking at 40,000 in the year 1992. It has since dropped to 1:34:42 27,000 through industrial hardship. The Romanian revolution of 1989 saw 1:34:48 revolutionists violently overthrow the country's communist party, which would eventually lead to Romania's cohesion 1:34:54 with the West. And while almost all Romanians see this as a massive win for the country, it did unfortunately see 1:35:01 Carakal's predominantly agricultural industry collapse. Nowadays, it's a sleepy city with a whole bunch of 1:35:08 nothing going on. I mean, you do have several supermarkets and three or four industrial zones. Oh, and a military 1:35:15 base nearby. But otherwise, life here is pretty quiet with nothing but small 1:35:21 murmurings being the main talk of the town. However, on July the 25th, 2019, 1:35:27 all of that would suddenly change. It was at 11:05 that morning that a 1:35:33 young woman named Alexandra Machanu dialed 112, which by the way is the 1:35:38 phone number for Romania's emergency services. What you hear behind my voice is the actual recording, but with this 1:35:45 being Romanian, it's better that I translate it for you. Alexandra greeted the operator by saying, "Hello, I want 1:35:52 to talk to the police. I am 15 years old. I was kidnapped by a man yesterday." The operator asks, "What's 1:36:00 your name?" Where the young girl then responds, "Alexandra Machanu. Please come quickly. I don't know where I am." 1:36:07 Rather confused, the operator then asks, "What do you mean you don't know where you are? Do you know what locality?" To 1:36:13 which Alexandra responds, "In Caracal." He took me in Caracal, but I don't know 1:36:19 exactly where. In an ironic tone, the responder then replies with, "Well, give 1:36:24 me a milestone where you are in Caracal. How do you think we can find you?" "Hello, were you sexually assaulted?" 1:36:31 Alexandra then weakly replies, "Yes, wait. Please don't leave me." "Oh no, 1:36:36 he's coming back. He's coming back here. Please come quickly. Please." The call 1:36:42 is then abruptly disconnected and for half a minute the operator who has asked 1:36:47 for support from her team member is frozen with what to do. They had no idea 1:36:52 how to track Alexandra who could only confirm the city that she was in but not the house street or even suburb. 1:37:00 Thankfully she would then call back only one minute later and this time they would learn of a few more details. After 1:37:07 greeting the caller, Alexandra then responds to the operator by saying, "It's me again. I don't know where I am 1:37:13 in Caracal. I was blindfolded." And when I could see something for the first time, I was near a dam. It is at this 1:37:21 point that she then incorrectly tells the operator that her abductor is a man named Pescu Gabrielle. It is worth 1:37:28 noting here that although she was smart enough to find his business card in the room that she was in, it did not 1:37:34 actually belong to the kidnapper. Alexandra then goes on to say, "I cannot see where I am. I am locked in a room. 1:37:41 All I can see is a gate. Yesterday, I hitchhiked to go to town. That is when he took me in his car." He then locked 1:37:48 the car and told me that he could take me. I don't remember the license plate, but the car was gray and flated. I 1:37:56 passed a dam along the way, but now I don't know. I think I'm in bold, maybe. 1:38:01 I don't know. The operator then asks, "Do you have your phone with you?" To 1:38:06 which Alexandra responds, "Yes, but he's got it. I'm calling from his phone now. 1:38:12 Please send someone. I am scared." The police would then proceed to take over the phone call at 11:07 a.m. Again, 1:38:19 asking Alexandra where precisely she was. Desperately looking around the room for a clue, she then said, "I passed by 1:38:27 the dam and I think I'm in bold now. It can't be anywhere else. Hold on. I found 1:38:32 an address. It's number 9 Antonius Caracalama Boulevard, DA. Now, unfortunately, this address was not the 1:38:40 correct one. When officers highlighted to Alexandra that this address contained a block of flats, she reiterated that 1:38:46 she was somewhere more rural and could see a courtyard and a gate. By now, the operator and the officer sounded 1:38:53 agitated and even condescending towards Alexandra. And so despite her incredible 1:38:58 efforts to locate a phone, call the police twice, and then even find clues and details to her whereabouts, her 1:39:04 saviors seemed audibly annoyed. The officer then tells her to stay put, and that police are coming. But she 1:39:10 responded by saying she had no choice anyway because she was locked in the room. She als added that she was 1:39:15 extremely scared and that she had been beaten. By now, you could tell that Alexandra was desperately begging for 1:39:21 help. But between her cries, the officer, who was quite audibly impatient, told her to hang up the phone 1:39:26 and wait to be contacted. Terrible attitude aside, I feel like this advice is the total opposite to what you should 1:39:32 say. I mean, I'm pretty sure in any other country, the operator would ask you to stay on the line and not hang up 1:39:38 and wait alone. Now, unfortunately, these phone calls will get even worse and will be sure to leave your blood 1:39:43 boiling. However, before we get to those phone calls, who precisely was Alexandra 1:39:48 Machanu, and how did she end up in this mess? Born on September the 15th, 2003 to her 1:39:56 father and her mother, Alexandra was raised on the outskirts of Caracal in a small village named Dobros Leveni. 1:40:03 Described as a friendly and popular girl at school, she had absolutely no trouble in fitting in with her classmates. And 1:40:10 after attending primary school, she moved on to become a student at the Mihi Bitaju Theoretical High School. 1:40:16 Described as a bright and kind-hearted student, she was very close to her family and had big aspirations for the 1:40:23 future. But moving into our case today, she was only 15 years old when this 1:40:28 story takes place. Being from the small village of Dobros Leveni, where the population barely scrapes past 3,000 1:40:35 residents, she would often make her way into the city to meet friends and go shopping. However, with public transport 1:40:42 being unreliable, if not existent at all, she would often rely on other forms 1:40:48 of transportation. And unfortunately, I'm talking about hitchhiking here. Now, 1:40:53 hitchhiking is a very debatable and controversial topic for a very good 1:40:58 reason. Although some people argue that statistically speaking the odds of running into trouble are minuscule, 1:41:04 there are inherent risks which could lead to a catastrophic outcome. Unpredictable drivers, potential for 1:41:11 violence or assault, being stranded, and the risk of exploitation are all things that you need to look out for, 1:41:17 especially if you're young, small, or female. I mean, if you're 7 foot, male, and 40 years old, and you like to 1:41:24 wrestle, then you can probably defend yourself. However, quite understandably, it is much less advisable if you're a 1:41:30 15year-old girl. But it is worth noting here that hitchhiking is much more common in Romania than other countries 1:41:37 like America or the United Kingdom. In fact, it is even illegal in parts of Australia, including the state of 1:41:44 Victoria. Anyway, on July the 24th, 2019, and while visiting friends in the 1:41:49 city, Alexandra tried to hitch a ride back home to the village of Dos Levveni. And unfortunately, that is when she 1:41:56 would meet a driver who had ulterior motives. Parking his vehicle beside her, the man then asked where she was going. 1:42:03 And after explaining that she needed a lift to go back to Dob Ross Levveni, which was only a few miles down the 1:42:09 road, the older man agreed to help her out. Alexandra thanked the driver, hopped in the car, and then put on a 1:42:16 seat belt. But after the vehicle was then put in motion, the driver manually locked all the doors and then told her 1:42:22 to remain calm. Within minutes, he stopped the vehicle where Alexandra was then forced to place a blindfold over 1:42:29 her head. Of course, this preventing her from knowing where precisely they were going. Her abductor then took her to his 1:42:35 home where she was then tragically assaulted several times throughout the evening. Alexandra's parents were fairly 1:42:41 quick to realize that something was wrong, especially after she stopped responding to text messages and phone 1:42:46 calls. And so, when that happened, they went down to the local police department and reported her as missing. But it 1:42:53 wouldn't be until the following day that Alexandra herself was able to make contact with the police. And this was 1:42:58 after her abductor had foolishly left his phone with her while leaving the property. So, I've already described to 1:43:03 you the two initial phone calls made by Alexandra to the police. However, there would be a third and final call made 1:43:09 only several minutes later. And guess what? But their response was even more infuriating. 1:43:17 Love it. After the phone call was terminated, Alexandra then called emergency services 1:43:22 yet again. The operator picked up the phone to say, "Hello, what's the emergency?" Alexandra then asked if they 1:43:29 had sent anyone yet. To which the operator then reconnected the police officer. She then asked them, "Please, 1:43:35 did you send anyone here? I am terrified. I am scared of the man. He beat me." The officer then responded 1:43:42 with, "We did. They cannot fly over to you in 2 minutes, young lady. Stay there. Yes. Who are you scared of? Who 1:43:49 is he? Alexandra replied, I think his name is Pescu Lucian Gabriel. I don't 1:43:54 know. I found this business card. I thought maybe it's his card, but I don't know if it's him. The officer replied, 1:44:01 "Ah, so you don't know that either." Okay, stay there. A squad will arrive in 2 to 3 minutes. Hold on. While crying, 1:44:09 Alexandra once again begged and pleaded for the officers to stay on the phone with her. But that is when he said, 1:44:15 "Miss, I cannot stay on the phone with you. We have other calls too. Stay there for a police crew to arrive and calm 1:44:23 down a little bit. Will you clear the phone line? If we are stuck on the phone, then the crew will not be able to 1:44:29 talk to you." And that is when the phone line was suddenly cut. 1:44:34 Somebody. When officers arrived at the address given by Alexandro via that business 1:44:40 card, they did realize that unfortunately it was the wrong address and the wrong name. With that in mind, 1:44:46 officers had no idea where she was. And with them forcing her to end the phone call, well, they had no way of 1:44:52 communicating with her either. No surprise, but the police finally realized how royally they had screwed 1:44:57 up. And so they immediately tasked all personnel to try and locate Alexandra. In situations like this, every single 1:45:04 second counts and every minute that passes by feels like an hour. And tragically, they would take 15 hours to 1:45:11 trace her calls. The police asked the special telecommunication service to help locate the phone calls. But 1:45:18 unfortunately, the coordinates given by the STS covered an area too large to analyze. However, police officers were 1:45:26 able to find a car in that area, which did seem to match the description given by Alexandra, which was further 1:45:32 cooperated by finding this surveillance footage. With that said, they would eventually track the vehicle to a 1:45:38 property which belonged to a man named Gorg Dinka, who at the time was a 65-year-old mechanic living in the area. 1:45:46 And unfortunately, his other job seemed to fit the story, too. You see, on the 1:45:51 sideline, Gorg was a taxi driver of sorts. And I say of sorts because 1:45:57 actually he was illegally operating as one without a license. So with that in 1:46:02 mind, he may have been able to make Alexandra feel safer by claiming that he was one. Found on the western edge of 1:46:08 Caracal, Giorg's home was a monster of a property filled with dense bushes and 1:46:14 walls that protected the house and its additional three floors. Not only that, but it also had a metal gate that 1:46:20 matched the description which was given by Alexandra. Funnily enough, they wouldn't have to look very hard to get a 1:46:27 profile of Kyorg either because by simple dark coincidence, Google Maps had 1:46:32 even captured several images of the man standing outside of his property only a few weeks prior. However, here is yet 1:46:40 another infuriating fact. Despite learning of her location at 2:00 a.m. on 1:46:45 July the 26th, police officers and prosecutors decided to wait an additional 4 hours before executing any 1:46:52 sort of police raid with an active search warrant. And by the way, this is despite the law not even requiring them 1:46:59 to have one. Now, I do understand that this could perhaps build a more robust case against him in court, but I would 1:47:06 argue that Alexandra's life was far more critical at this stage. Anyway, officers 1:47:11 finally raided Gorgi's home at sunrise, to which they found themselves entangled in a horrific scene, one that would 1:47:18 evidently end up being far more gruesome than they had bargained for. On the other end of the stick, Gorg was shocked 1:47:25 to find dozens of officers barging through his front gate. The move clearly 1:47:30 surprised him. So much so that it wouldn't take long for Gorg to reveal his darkest and most depraved secrets, 1:47:38 to which some of them would take many investigators by surprise. 1:47:43 Tragically, police officers were too late to save Alexandra. By the time they raided his property, she had already 1:47:50 been dead for several hours. Gorg admitted to murdering the young woman after kidnapping, beating, and 1:47:57 assaulting her before then trying to dispose of her body by burning it. 1:48:23 After conducting a thorough search of the property and all the grounds nearby, they found human remains and jewelry in 1:48:30 a barrel to which sadly it all belonged to Alexandra. However, that wouldn't be 1:48:35 all that police officers would find. It turns out that this was not Gorg's first 1:48:41 rodeo because after admitting that he had murdered Alexandre, he then diverted 1:48:46 investigators attention to another missing person's case, which sadly had 1:48:51 only taken place 3 months prior in April. It was at this time that an 18-year-old woman named Louisa Meenu had 1:48:58 vanished from her hometown of Caracal, never to be seen again. And well, it 1:49:04 turns out that he was also responsible for her disappearance, meaning that at the very least, Alexandra was the second 1:49:11 woman to be murdered on his property. As you can imagine, the public's response here was strong, emotional, and intense. 1:49:18 Many Romanians were outraged for several reasons, which would lead to a protest of more than 2,500 people in Bucharest. 1:49:27 Not only were they devastated by Alexandra's and Louisa's deaths, but they were angry at how the authorities 1:49:33 dealt with both of their disappearances. The sluggish response time was already frustrating enough. But what angered the 1:49:40 public even more was how the officer and the operator would sound sarcastic and even annoyed during the phone call with 1:49:47 Alexandra, who clearly was terrified for her life. While these protests were going on, Alexandra and Louisa's friends 1:49:54 and family both held vigils for their daughters. Both who were now faced with the immeasurable pain of grief and loss. 1:50:02 However, as I will explain later on in this video, not everyone was on board 1:50:07 with their deaths. Meanwhile, in the interrogation room, Gorg told the investigators that he burned Alexandra's 1:50:14 body to dispose of the evidence while simultaneously confessing that he threw Louisa's body into the Danube River 1:50:20 found nearby. However, he would later change his statements to claim that he also burned Louisa's body. He then 1:50:27 agreed to take the investigators to a forest where they found several cremated bone fragments in an area where he 1:50:34 claimed to have disposed her remains. But forensic experts could not establish an exact DNA profile from these 1:50:41 fragments as unfortunately the bones found in the woods were too calcinated. 1:50:46 A state in which all the organic carbon has burned away from the bone leaving it pure white and sometimes unidentifiable. 1:50:53 Sadly, DNA tests soon confirmed that the bones found at Gorg's home did in fact 1:50:59 belong to 15-year-old Alexandra Machosanu. And so with all said and 1:51:04 done, they knew that she had been murdered. Moving to the legal proceedings of this 1:51:10 case, Gorgi's trial would begin in August of 2022. Now, in the Romanian system, there are no juries, and so both 1:51:16 civil and criminal trials have what we know as a bench trial, where a single judge will render the verdict. In 1:51:22 addition to this, they also have what they call a finalizing process, where the tribunal can take up to one year to 1:51:28 determine if the verdict and sentence is fair. Now, as we know, this man was up against a slew of charges, including 1:51:34 human trafficking, child trafficking, sexual assault, murder, and desecration of a corpse. And so, as expected, this 1:51:42 man would give a lot of resistance in court. Although he initially confessed to the murder of both women, he would 1:51:48 later change his mind in court and even deny that he had anything to do with their deaths. However, his involvement 1:51:54 was almost irrefutable at this stage in the investigation. In addition to the phone call, evidence, and confession, 1:52:01 surveillance footage also captured his vehicle close to the area where Alexandra hitched a ride, which was also 1:52:07 confirmed by additional surveillance footage of her walking nearby. It was determined that the first of his crimes 1:52:13 began on April the 14th, 2019, when at that stage, he kidnapped Louisa Meenu 1:52:19 before then taking her to his home. While there, she was subjected to multiple counts of assault before then 1:52:25 tragically being murdered the next day. Alexandra suffered the same fate only a few months later in July. Evidence found 1:52:33 suggests she had been chained to the man's bed before then being murdered. Both women would have experienced a 1:52:39 horrific reality for the last several hours of their lives before the cruel monster then attempted to burn their 1:52:46 existence away forever. To make this case even more disturbing, it turns out that Gorg could not keep his sick and 1:52:53 twisted fantasy a secret. While Alexandra was under his captivity, he would then go on to tell one of his 1:53:00 friends named Stefan Reipatanu, who then also assaulted her. And despite Gorg 1:53:05 being a total pig of a man, he somehow actually had a wife, and she too would 1:53:10 also be arrested for potentially carrying knowledge of Louisa's disappearance and then subsequent 1:53:16 murder. To add to all of this, Gorg's trial would be wrapped not only in controversy, but also wild claims. 1:53:23 Despite the evidence and his confession, the families of Alexandra and Louisa do not believe that Gorg murdered their 1:53:30 daughters by himself. And that's because they believe that he lied to police officers in order to cover up a human 1:53:36 trafficking network, which in fairness is known to be a widespread issue in Romania. So, did Gorg act alone or did 1:53:44 he have other accompllices? They also believe that the prosecutors who worked on Alexandra's disappearance 1:53:51 intentionally delayed the raid on his property in order to give him time to hide evidence. Not only that, but it was 1:53:58 also noted that while working on Louis's disappearance only 3 months prior, the prosecutors who obtained surveillance 1:54:05 footage of Gorg's car and license plate failed to question him or even conduct a 1:54:10 search on his property. Now, at least personally speaking, I think there are only two options here. There is either 1:54:16 gross incompetence in the police force or they are actually trying to hide something. 1:54:25 Gorg's neighbors would also provide conflicting testimonies about smelling anything odd coming from the property, 1:54:31 and none of them saw any fire or smoke coming from the garden. As you can imagine, the incineration of a human 1:54:37 body would provide some rather nasty smells. So, did the wind affect their 1:54:42 testimonies, or was there no fire at all? Obviously, the main theory here is that Gorg was merely a scapegoat or a 1:54:49 porn to a wider criminal organization and perhaps even in cahoots with the government. It is also noted here that 1:54:56 Daikot, which is Romania's homicide agency, made multiple mistakes with the evidence available. And that's because 1:55:01 although Alexandra's DNA was confirmed to be identified in some of the dental pieces inside the burn barrel, some of 1:55:08 those results were deemed to be inconclusive. And that's because some of the teeth found in the barrel did seem 1:55:13 to exhibit dental work that Alexandra did not have. However, the forensic specialists failed to note this. And 1:55:20 furthermore, they examined the teeth as a whole using a destructive method that would render individual analysis of each 1:55:26 tooth to be impossible afterwards. Despite the uncertainties of these results, Daikart would issue a death 1:55:32 certificate for Alexandra, to which her family refused to recognize. Rumors and controversy aside, the judge who was 1:55:40 working on this case was absolutely furious. And of course, he had to act on the evidence available. So, it's no 1:55:46 surprise that Gorg Dinka was ultimately found guilty of all charges and was therefore sentenced to 30 years behind 1:55:53 bars. Now, according to Romanian law, a 30-year sentence is the maximum that a 1:55:58 person over 65 years of age can receive, which is good enough in this case because considering his age, he will 1:56:05 never walk a day free again. In addition to his sentence, the court also ruled that he must pay moral damages of 1:56:12 €700,000, which is the equivalent of $722,000, 1:56:18 to the two victims families. Although his sentence was not yet final and could theoretically be appealed, the court of 1:56:25 appeal would ultimately rule that 30 years was not only valid and justifiable but also final. In addition to this, his 1:56:33 accomplice Stefan Reepanu was also sentenced to 12 years in prison. It 1:56:38 should have been more in my opinion, but with other inmates knowing why he's there, I am sure his time behind bars 1:56:44 will be total carnage. And so we conclude the fate of Gorg Dinka. Not 1:56:50 that he matters anyway. His despicable behavior and actions, which were fueled by disgusting lust and assault, would 1:56:57 ultimately end the lives of two young women who were forced to experience pure horror in their final hours. Alexandra 1:57:04 Machanu and Louisa Malenu were bright young souls whose lives were lost far 1:57:10 too soon. Their dreams, laughter, and love for their families were tragically cut short, leaving behind a nation in 1:57:17 mourning. Alexandra's bravery in the face of unimaginable fear stands out very prominently in this case to me. She 1:57:24 was abducted, beaten, assaulted, and then kept caged in a room. But despite all of the pain that she experienced, 1:57:31 she managed to find a phone, call the emergency services, find clues hidden around the room, and ultimately help 1:57:38 solve her murder. It is a terrible shame that the operator and officer were not more helpful during these phone calls. 1:57:44 And the least they could have done was provide support and comfort to Alexandra in her final conversation with a human. 1:57:51 And I'm not counting Yorg here because that man is an absolute monster. May the memories of Alexandra and Louisa serve 1:57:58 as a reminder that no one should suffer as they did. And this is precisely why Romania continues to fight for better 1:58:05 laws and rights to protect not only its women but its younger generations, too. 1:58:10 Sadly, Louisa's grandmother does not accept the tragedy. And to this day, she believes that her granddaughter will 1:58:17 eventually return home. As a measure of good faith, she continues to look after her pet dog and anticipates giving him 1:58:24 back on her arrival. In the aftermath of this case, Gorgi's home has since been 1:58:29 abandoned with overgrown weeds covering every fertile corner of the garden. 1:58:36 This case would also highlight the serious problem of public transportation or the lack of it in the Romanian 1:58:42 countryside and how essential hitchhiking can be to get around. Again, hitchhiking is much less frowned upon in 1:58:48 Romania. And this is in stark contrast to some countries which have even made it illegal. For the record, Lucian 1:58:54 Pepescu, who was the man identified in that business card, was completely innocent and not related to this case. 1:59:00 It turns out that he met Gorg once when he was a retail estate agent and never even knew the man. By the way, after 1:59:06 this case, several officers, including Romania's National Police Chief, were all sacked as a result. Unfortunately, I 1:59:13 couldn't confirm if the operator was fired or not, but I certainly hope so. Another side note, but this is yet 1:59:19 another case where I've witnessed strange remnants of the story being hidden behind Google Maps. I have to say 1:59:25 there is something deeply odd seeing Gorg on screen, ominously staring at the camera a mere few weeks before Alexandra 1:59:32 was murdered. To make matters worse, this was after he had killed Louisa. And 1:59:38 by the way, you may see that Google Maps identified the image to be taken in 2012, but this is inaccurate and I think 1:59:44 they've messed around with the data. Previous news reports captured citations of the image being snapped in May of 1:59:50 2019 and also street view images taken in 2012 were not up to this level of 1:59:55 fidelity. I find those street view images to be deeply unsettling. It's kind of like he's there forever. But 2:00:01 yeah, I guess that pretty much wraps up this case today, folks. Before I go though, I'd love to know what you think about this one. And I have several 2:00:08 questions for you. To begin with, do you think that Gorg acted alone or do you think there was a wider criminal 2:00:13 organization behind him? And well, yeah, some do believe that the government was involved. So, do you believe that too? 2:00:20 As always, please share your thoughts in the comments section down below. I do genuinely like to read them. Alexandra's 2:00:25 story is one of absolute terror, and we can only imagine what she was thinking in her final hours. Very different to CASE 5 2:00:32 our next story, where the killer's victims had not even a moment to react. So, this case was selected by Coffee 2:00:38 House Crimes other researcher and editor, Chloe, who found this case both terrifying and intriguing. I mean, let's 2:00:44 be honest here. It is quite rare for a killer to leave so much embarrassing footage of himself for the whole world 2:00:49 to gawk at. And so on that note, this is our fifth and final case today. That 2:00:55 being the case of Scott Bailey. I'd like to send a message now to the 2:01:00 adolescent males to unbburden himself of this stigma that that society's put on 2:01:08 him. This this virginity burden. This is Scott Beerley. On paper, he was 2:01:14 a teacher and former soldier. But in reality, he had the dating skills of an old sponge and the social grace of a 2:01:21 parking ticket. But instead of reflecting on his shortcomings and improving himself, Scott chose the 2:01:27 lonely path of bitterness, anger, and delusion. And along the way produced some of the worst music that humanity 2:01:34 has ever endured. I like to walk around hanging out. I like to serve this sauerkraut. As time 2:01:41 marched on, his behavior only grew more outrageous. He was fired from job after 2:01:47 job, banned from multiple campuses, and somehow managed to make a nuisance of himself in almost every corner of his 2:01:54 life. And yet, despite leaving a trail of warning signs and basically having walking red flag practically stamped 2:02:01 across his forehead, Scott somehow managed to slip through all of the cracks. In short, consequences always 2:02:08 seemed to skirt around him. Meanwhile, his videos and music grew darker, more violent, and somehow even more 2:02:16 unbearable. His obsession with resentment seemed to metastasize into something far uglier than just bad 2:02:22 lyrics or tonedeaf guitar riffs. I mean, even the federal authorities were tipped off about him. But even still, his case 2:02:30 was dismissed until tragically it was too late. 2:02:36 As a result, multiple lives were lost at the hands of Scott Bealey, a man who is dangerous, delusional, and just as 2:02:43 insufferable. And today, we're diving head first into his disturbing world. 2:02:48 Welcome, or welcome back to Coffee House Crime, folks. My name is Adrian, and I'm here to share the world's darkest and 2:02:54 wildest stories with you and provide anything we can learn along the way. So, who was Scott Bealey? What did all of 2:03:00 these red flags look like? And how did this story change from concern to outright tragedy? Well, one thing's for 2:03:07 sure, this story will leave you outraged, especially when it comes to his music. And so, on that note, please 2:03:13 get comfortable, grab a coffee if you haven't yet, and let's caffeinate while we investigate. This is the case of 2:03:19 Scott Bi. 2:03:30 November the 2nd, 2018 began like any other day in Tallahassee, Florida. Now, 2:03:35 Tallahassee is a curious place that is filled with quirks and courage. Not only 2:03:40 is it the state's capital, but it's also a bustling college town and a cultural hot spot. Streets are lined with oak 2:03:48 trees and heavy with Spanish moss, giving it this quiet yet beautiful southern charm. And when it gets dark, 2:03:54 the nightife and university culture keep it both alive and unpredictable. For most people, this Friday was nothing 2:04:01 unusual. People were busy finishing their work days. Students met up with friends for drinks. And in a quiet 2:04:08 shopping plaza just off of Thomasville Road, a handful of locals gathered at Hot Yoga Tallahassee. To those who 2:04:15 entered, this studio was their sanctuary after a long week of work. A place to 2:04:20 escape the noise outside and to stretch and breathe and finally find peace in the stillness of the evening. However, 2:04:27 peace can be a very fragile thing. And that night, they unknowingly found the 2:04:32 total opposite of what they were looking for because that was the night that an insufferable and dangerous man was ready 2:04:39 to walk in. The man's name was Scott Beerley. Now, at first, he seemed to 2:04:44 just blend into the crowd, just a normalllooking guy with a yoga mat and a black backpack. But our story today 2:04:52 isn't only about the horror that unfolded inside the yoga studio that night, but also about Scott Beerley 2:04:58 himself alongside his unsufferable ego and the long and bitter path that led 2:05:03 him there. And so, on that note, let's talk about Scott and why you should strive to become the total opposite of 2:05:11 him. Okay, so who exactly was Scott Bailey? Well, on the surface, he was 2:05:16 actually quite unremarkable. He was middle-aged, well educated, and had a resume that ticked all of the boxes for 2:05:22 a rather respectful person. He was an army veteran, a former high school teacher, and even had two M's degrees. 2:05:29 So, to the casual observer, he might have even passed as someone that you'd trust or even admire. But, as is the 2:05:35 case with many of these monsters, once you peel back that facade, things aren't quite as they seem. And in Scott's case, 2:05:42 what you'll find is a lot less Army veteran and much more cringe Reddit user. Now, I'm going to be blunt with 2:05:48 you here, but Scott's going to get a lot of heat from me in this video, and I'm not going to feel bad about it either, 2:05:53 because he wasn't just opinionated. He was a misogynistic and violent bully. In 2:05:58 fact, a lot of his videos, music, and openly public beliefs will quite literally blow you away. So, it turns 2:06:05 out that Scott had a long documented history of hating women and it's probably the thing that he is now most 2:06:12 known for. But unfortunately, it doesn't stop there because he also spouted many 2:06:17 extremist beliefs and behaved in many ways that ranged from inappropriate to outright criminal. And his prejudice did 2:06:24 not stop there either because he was also racist, anti-Semitic, and basically carried a grudge against anyone who 2:06:31 didn't look, think, or breathe exactly like him. In fact, if you were to make a ven diagram of groups that Scott Bealey 2:06:38 didn't hate, the only thing in the middle would probably be Scott Bealey. And even then, I'm not entirely sure. 2:06:45 You see, Scott's bitterness towards the world started young. In one of his many video rants, he recalled being an 2:06:51 awkward eighth grader and one that was convinced that girls in his class were always plotting to embarrass and 2:06:57 humiliate him. He described those moments of being ignored at the tender age of 13 as if it somehow were some 2:07:04 kind of super villain transformation. In fact, he would even moan about what he called quote virginity burden. Of 2:07:11 course, blaming all of the girls for not giving him the romance that he believed he apparently deserved. At the age of 2:07:17 15, Scott even admitted that he could no longer stomach listening to love songs 2:07:22 because they apparently reminded him of the life that he wasn't living. In short, while most of us were worried 2:07:28 about homework or prom dates, Scott was already perfecting the fine art of self-pity and hatred, things did not 2:07:35 seem to improve either. In high school, his behavior was so troubling that he was ordered to undergo psychiatric 2:07:42 evaluations on multiple occasions. In a video he said, "I have never gone to a 2:07:47 psychiatrist on my own valition, nor would I ever. I have been ordered to visit one on four separate occasions 2:07:54 though, dating back to high school, all having to do either with females or my mania." However, behind those mounting 2:08:01 concerns, Scott was quite smart, actually. After high school, he went on to earn a bachelor's degree, followed by 2:08:08 not one but two master's degrees in public administration and urban planning. 2:08:14 With all of this behind him, on paper, it actually looked like he had quite a solid future. With credentials like 2:08:20 that, it's quite clear he was pretty smart. And to be honest with you, all he really needed to do at this stage was 2:08:25 maybe have a bit of self-reflection and touch up on his social skills. I think those two things alone would have 2:08:31 provided a stable career and a happy home, which then could have led to a future wife. And of course, all he 2:08:36 really needed to do was first of all respect himself, but then secondly, and maybe even most importantly, was respect 2:08:44 others. But obviously, that didn't happen. Otherwise, I wouldn't be telling you this story today. And as the years 2:08:49 went by, he didn't grow kinder or wiser. He grew stranger, angrier, and far more 2:08:55 insufferable. Over time, Scott became obsessive over violent fantasies and infamous killers. In fact, he would even 2:09:02 write about doing this sort of pilgrimage to the many sites linked to the serial killer Ted Bundy. This even 2:09:08 included the boarding house and the sorority house where Ted murdered two women in 1978, which by the way is the 2:09:15 same year that Scott was born. All of this was very concerning because you know what was quite clear to me 2:09:20 throughout all of my research is that Scott saw Ted's path as some sort of holy journey, which is really messed up, 2:09:27 right? His attitude towards women was outright vile. In his writings, he would 2:09:33 routinely demonize women. In one excerpt, he said, "Just beneath a woman's blushing lashes and innocent 2:09:39 smiles lies the most rancid and putrid, sickening essences." Real classy there, 2:09:45 Scotty. It is clear to see that if there was one thing as strong as Scott's misogyny, it was probably his unlimited 2:09:52 self-entitlement. He believed that the world owed him affection, sex, and admiration, and he 2:09:58 was furious when reality did not deliver. Online, he gravitated towards 2:10:04 the incel community, which, as many of you will already know, is an echo chamber where men seem to cry to each 2:10:10 other about their lack of finding a partner. But the thing is, Scott didn't just seem to sympathize within cells, 2:10:18 but he outright saw himself as one, too. In fact, in one of his YouTube videos, 2:10:23 he even praised Elliot Roger. If you don't know who that is yet, then just Google him and you'll see what I mean. 2:10:30 To Scott, Elliot wasn't an insufferable toad, but an inspiration instead, which 2:10:36 to be honest really tells you all you need to know about him. I'd like to send a message now to the adolescent males, 2:10:44 if there are any ultimately watching, that are in the the position or the the the 2:10:51 situation, the disposition of of Elliot Roger of like not getting any I mean, I 2:10:58 I don't think a female can ever understand the societal pressure that's put on an adolescent male to 2:11:06 unbburden himself of this stigma. that that society's put on him. This 2:11:11 this virginity virginity um burden. 2:11:17 Now, socially, Scott was no different offline. Those who crossed paths with him described him as awkward, angry, and 2:11:25 openly bigoted. I mean, even acquaintances picked up on his toxicity. So, in other words, Scott was just as 2:11:32 tolerable as petrol in your morning coffee. His life seemed to be one failure after another and almost always 2:11:39 because of his own behavior. We'll go into why precisely in just a minute, but the long story short here is that Scott 2:11:46 simply could not exist in normal society without stirring up chaos. After 2:11:51 graduating, he took up work as an English teacher at Mid High School, which can be found in an Arendel County 2:11:57 in Maryland. However, it wouldn't take long for trouble to follow. It turns out that not even one year into his post, he 2:12:05 was investigated by police over a complaint from one of his female students. She claimed that apparently he 2:12:12 had touched her arm and even suggested that she wore more revealing low cut tops. And believe it or not, he also 2:12:20 asked her if she could maybe pose for Playboy. Police investigated these claims, but ultimately the case was 2:12:26 dropped when they couldn't prove it. As a result, no charges were pursued. However, that is not to say that nothing 2:12:34 happened. Scott was lucky not to face any prosecution, but it seems that the damage was already done because shortly 2:12:41 after this, he was no longer employed at the school. Whether he was formally dismissed or allowed to resign quietly 2:12:47 under his own terms still remains unclear. However, what is clear is the pattern that it foreshadowed. Because 2:12:54 moving forward, you will see how many times this adult who is in a position of trust seemed to cross the line with a 2:13:01 young woman and then just simply walk away with little consequence. So, you 2:13:07 might be thinking, well, maybe the military could straighten out someone like Scott. But unfortunately, think 2:13:13 again. In the year 2008, Scott enlisted into the US Army and would even graduate 2:13:19 at the Officer Candidate School with the rank of second lieutenant. On paper, this looked like a promising career, and 2:13:26 let's face it, it would keep him away from young women, too. However, in reality, it was just another environment 2:13:32 where his true character bled through. Within 2 years of being here, he was 2:13:37 under investigation for an appropriate sexual contact with female soldiers who were under his command. So basically, 2:13:45 even in one of the most disciplined and structured institutions in the world, he still couldn't help himself from being 2:13:51 creepy and crossing boundaries. By 2010, the army had had enough. Scott was 2:13:56 dismissed under unacceptable conduct. And yet somehow he still managed to walk 2:14:02 away with an honorable discharge. In other words, his record stayed clean. What should have been a red flag of the 2:14:09 highest order was instead quietly swept under the rug. And just like that, he 2:14:15 once again slipped through the system. After leaving the army, Scott then moved to Tallahassee where he claimed he was 2:14:21 there for graduate school at Florida State University. But true to form, he quickly left behind a trail of 2:14:27 complaints. It was in December of 2012 that Scott walked up to a student and then grabbed her butt. And when she spun 2:14:34 around, of course, being absolutely shocked, he muttered that it apparently was an accident. However, only a few 2:14:40 minutes later, she then saw him do it to two other women nearby, both of them wearing yoga pants, by the way, which is 2:14:47 important for later on in this video. It was clear, though, that this was not clumsiness. It was assault in broad 2:14:53 daylight. Scott was arrested and then charged with battery, and the FSU were very quick to ban him from ever 2:14:59 returning to that dining hall again. However, when it came to pressing charges, his victims once again dropped 2:15:05 them. For Scott, this was nothing more than a close call and also kind of a lesson to teach him that there were no 2:15:12 consequences in his actions. In the months that followed, there were two additional reports of Scott apparently 2:15:18 groping women. In fact, by 2014, that pattern had become so undeniable that 2:15:23 the campus actually banned him altogether. Put bluntly, Scott was a shameful creep that really needed to be 2:15:29 stopped. But instead of prison or any sort of real accountability, he always managed to slip away. So despite 2:15:36 multiple arrests, not even one of them had led to a conviction. In 2012, and 2:15:41 after groping students in the FSU dining hall, he was charged with battery. And 2:15:46 later in the year 2016, he was charged again for another assault. And even 2:15:51 then, he still did not accept boundaries, picking up another charge for trespassing when he violated the 2:15:58 campus ban. By 2018, Scott had at least three arrests on record. However, when 2:16:04 you looked at his official file, it was still actually spotless. In short, with 2:16:09 Scott having a technically clean record, he could actually pass background checks with ease. With these background checks 2:16:16 being the tool designed to keep predators like him out of classrooms and workplaces, which is just totally 2:16:22 staggering. Scott was routinely recognized as a danger. And yet, when it came to acting decisively, all of these 2:16:30 institutions seemed to drop their case, quietly fire him, or provide bans only 2:16:35 to one specific location. And what makes this even more concerning is that this 2:16:40 was not simply a case of Scott just simply slipping through the cracks, but he was quite literally committing 2:16:46 extremely concerning crimes on military and university property. And yet here 2:16:52 they were just letting him get away with it, too. Of course, this meant that after being fired at Florida State, 2:16:58 Scott simply found another job still as a substitute teacher in the Leyon County School District. Even from the very 2:17:05 beginning, staff had their doubts. Apparently, during his interview, he was described as looking rude, frustrated, 2:17:12 and angry, and scary throughout. He even asked that his password would be Carnifex, the Latin word for 2:17:19 executioner. The staff who noticed this were horrified and recommended that he was not hired. But whether through 2:17:25 oversight or simple desperation, that was ignored and instead he started work the following week. It was only a few 2:17:31 months into this new job that Scott found himself in trouble once again. But this time it was because he was caught 2:17:37 watching porn while covering a class filled with high school students. It wasn't subtle either because apparently 2:17:43 all of the students saw this when he accidentally broadcasted it to the classroom projector. Of course, when 2:17:49 staff confronted him about this, Scott tried to make up this excuse that apparently it was a virus. But when 2:17:55 staff checked his internet history, well, that told a very different story. And so, it's no surprise to learn that 2:18:01 Scott was fired on the spot. However, thanks to his still ever clean 2:18:07 criminal record, Scott found another job at another school in Florida. You're probably sick of this by now, but once 2:18:14 again, he was fired within 2 weeks of starting that job after a child's parents came forward to say that he had 2:18:20 very unsettling behavior. By May of 2018, he was now working as a substitute 2:18:25 teacher at Galaxy Middle School, where again, he was caught with inappropriate behavior towards a female student. From 2:18:32 what I was able to find out, Scott basically asked this student if she was ticklish. And before she could even 2:18:38 react, he then proceeded to stroke her just below her bra line. School administrators pulled him from the 2:18:45 classroom immediately. But instead of cooperating, Scott then tried to flee the campus altogether. In fact, a school 2:18:52 officer would even have to chase him down from across the parking lot to prevent him from escaping. And 2:18:58 thankfully, for the first time in recorded Scott history, the school actually responded competently. He 2:19:04 formally received a termination letter with Valuchia County Schools banning him from working anywhere in the system 2:19:11 again, thus theoretically marking an end to his teaching career. By mid 2018, 2:19:16 Scott had now been expelled, fired, or banned from five major institutions, 2:19:22 including no less than Maryland schools, the US Army, Florida State University, 2:19:27 Leyon County Schools, and now Valuchia County. In every scenario, his misconduct included harassment, assault, 2:19:34 or threatening behavior, most often directed towards women. And the crazy thing is, up until now, and in every 2:19:41 single case, he somehow managed to walk away scot-free. By the summer of 2018, 2:19:47 his life was basically in ruins. At the age of nearly 40, he was unemployed, 2:19:53 blacklisted from teaching, essentially living in near total isolation, and of course, still single. His bank account 2:20:00 would often dip below zero and he could barely look his neighbors in the eye because basically nobody wanted him 2:20:06 there. In one of his songs, which was named My Glamorous Life, he basically sneered at this bleak reality, mocking 2:20:13 his own circumstances as if sarcasm could make the misery go away. However, 2:20:18 what most people might see as a wake-up call, he only saw this as confirmation of his delusions. And you know what? I'm 2:20:26 just going to roll his track here for you to listen for yourself. Shooting rats in my backyards, my 2:20:32 safari, my 70 gremlins, my Ferrari. 2:20:40 You'll never see me in a ski vacation. On my days off, I work at a gas station. 2:20:51 I don't have time to play croquet. I rob the neighbor's Christmas display. 2:20:57 Instead of pausing to consider that, hey, maybe I'm the problem, Scott doubled down instead. In Scott's eyes, 2:21:04 his misfortune wasn't a lesson. It was evidence that he was a victim to all women. 2:21:12 Now, once again, I want to stress just how often Scott would actually expose himself as a real danger to women. And 2:21:19 this wasn't hidden or cryptic, but in plain sight. And these weren't isolated incidents or minor slip-ups either. They 2:21:26 were constant, blatant, and deeply concerning. And the crazy thing is that everything we've talked about so far has 2:21:33 pretty much been in the real world only. But when you look at what he was saying online, that was even more troubling. 2:21:39 Over time, Scott would become further detached from society. And in its path, he would also find his own online echo 2:21:46 chamber, where, no surprise, he found Reddit and the Incel community. And let's just say all that did was inflame 2:21:53 the situation. Using the name Carnifx, just like his work laptop password, 2:21:59 Scott then flooded the internet with his vile content. As you already know, this mainly consisted of YouTube video rants 2:22:06 and his own music. They became the main stage for him to broadcast his feelings, which basically meant putting toxicity 2:22:13 onto anyone unlucky enough to listen. Now that you know about his predatory nature, it is probably time that we talk 2:22:20 more about his music. I mean, look, just putting it bluntly to you, this is easily some of the most indigestible 2:22:27 slop that I've ever had the displeasure of finding. Some of his tracks names include nobody's type, eff them all, 2:22:34 handful of bare ass, I don't fatties for free, and who let the [ __ ] out. The hell 2:22:40 with the boss, I won't get off my back. The hell with the girl I can't get in 2:22:46 the sack. The hell with the good times. I can't get back. The hell with my life. 2:22:53 I can't get on track. To call these songs terrible would be far too kind. Scott's so-called music 2:23:00 was the kind of dril that would clear out a karaoke bar before the first verse was even over. The guy was quite clearly 2:23:07 painfully offkey, awkward, and just totally unlistenable. However, the real 2:23:12 sickness here wasn't in his lack of talent, but in the lyrics. In one of his songs named Locked in My Basement, he 2:23:19 talks about drugging a woman out of lust, locking her in his basement, and then doing unspeakable things to her. 2:23:26 And you know the drill by now. Here's 30 seconds of it. Just enough to sour your mood and make you wish I hadn't pressed 2:23:33 play. Now you're locked in my basement. You'll never say a word. When you scream out in 2:23:41 terror, you cannot be heard. 2:23:47 Oh, one day I know that you will learn to love me. But even when you do, I 2:23:55 cannot set you free. And here's half a minute of another song 2:24:01 just to balance the mood out a little bit. Half the lyrics are completely indecipherable. The other half are 2:24:07 pretty funny though. Flapping in the breeze. Flop it all around. Flapping like the sound. Flop it 2:24:12 in the air. Flapping in the sky. Better look out. Going to flop it in your eye. Throughout all of these songs, it was 2:24:18 quite clear that one major theme dominated his content. Of course, that being misogynistic extremism. 2:24:27 As you've seen through parts of this video already, in 2014, and while still living in Tallahassee, he recorded a 2:24:33 bunch of deranged rants before then uploading them to YouTube. Some of these are still available to this day, but by 2:24:40 far and wide, most of it has found itself to archives across the internet. In one video which was titled Plight of 2:24:47 the Adolescent Male, Beerley talks about how society supposedly forces some young 2:24:52 men to endure a sexless existence where he then directly compares himself to Elliot Roger. Of course, that being the 2:24:59 notorious King of the Incelss. I'd like to send a message now to the adolescent 2:25:05 males if there are any ultimately watching that are 2:25:11 in the the position or the the the situation the disposition of of Elliot 2:25:17 Roger of like not getting any I mean I I don't think a female can ever understand 2:25:22 the societal pressure that's put on an adolescent male to 2:25:28 unbburden himself of this stigma. that that society's put on him this this 2:25:35 virginity virginity um burden. I even remember 2:25:40 telling a girl that that this I'll call her thunder thighs. I'm not going to refer to her by name and I meant it when 2:25:46 I said it when I told her sex is overrated. It's that's not why I'm with you. That's not my primary uh objective 2:25:55 in being uh with you. um the the dodo head. That's I I'll get 2:26:01 to her in another time. In another upload, unsuttly titled The Rebirth of My Misogynism, Scott recalls 2:26:08 his earlier life experiences, blaming women for everything that ever went wrong for him. He also described about 2:26:15 how he felt targeted by the so-called collective treachery of girls and also 2:26:20 portrays himself as some kind of persecuted, sexless hero. two females that I was working with. This was one of 2:26:26 this was I guess an intermediate rebirth and I was interacting with both of them. 2:26:32 I must have asked for the phone number of the one and and she gave it to me and I tried to call her on several 2:26:38 occasions. I couldn't get through. I didn't know whether I was but she told me where she worked in boys club. 2:26:46 Said okay I'll go say hi. I left a message. Can you tell so and so I stopped by? Next thing I get a phone 2:26:52 call from the police. Oh, the what's going on with these girls? Like, why are 2:26:57 you bothering me? Why Why is this a concern of yours? Again, this mentality, let's just run to the authorities when 2:27:03 my our feelings are hurt. I've I committed no wrong. I'm just trying to hook up with this girl. Well, they've 2:27:09 decided not to press charge. They've decided. Really? Have they? Well, thank them. I I I didn't ask what charges they 2:27:15 could have pressed for me being aggressive. Are you can I press charges against them being evasive? Malevolence 2:27:22 can idle or it can manifest itself into something I felt such malev I still feel 2:27:28 malevolence towards them but have I been able to subjugate it 2:27:35 at the very least they deserve to be emphasized and and highlighted for their their treachery. There's a bunch of 2:27:41 other videos he posted, too, which I'll continue to pepper in throughout this video, but for now, here's a few more. 2:27:50 I'd like to talk about mongrelization a little bit today. Um, I see a lot of 2:27:56 interracial couples in particular in this town, uh, for some reason. And 2:28:03 although I guess that shouldn't be too shocking considering the demographics, 2:28:09 but when I see an interracial couple, I I think one of two things, and I don't 2:28:15 believe I I can't imagine that I'm unique in this. I think one of two things. Either the guy couldn't do any 2:28:20 better, or the girl's a [ __ ] or has some variety of mental illness uh or 2:28:26 psychological issue. If Scott imagined himself as some kind of dark bard of misogyny, the reality couldn't have been 2:28:33 any more pathetic. Would you believe it? But over the years, he vomited out more than 100 songs laced with violence, 2:28:41 hatred, and outright perversion. He would even go as far to rent studios 2:28:48 and hire professional musicians to help record dozens of these tracks for him. However, as one sound engineer would 2:28:54 later admit, Scott possessed zero musical talent. And one more thing to add here is that Scott's music was not 2:29:00 only hateful towards women, but also towards other cultures, immigrants, and gay communities. So, you might be 2:29:06 wondering, with so much violence and hatred towards people, why didn't anyone call Scott and his music out, or at 2:29:13 least report it to the police? Well, it turns out that someone actually did. Because in August of 2018, one of 2:29:20 Scott's old friends and his wife found his music. And out of morbid curiosity, they took a listen. His friend's wife 2:29:27 was absolutely horrified and so she did what all of us would hope a responsible citizen would do. She reported him to an 2:29:34 anonymous tip line which eventually would actually make its way to the FBI. However, after reviewing his material, 2:29:41 they found that his content fell under protected free speech and therefore concluded that there was no actionable 2:29:47 threat. Great job, guys. This warning was a huge chance to capture a killer in 2:29:53 the making, but tragically it was ignored and then left to die in an email instead. And although hindsight can be 2:30:00 2020, it is haunting to look back at this situation and realize that they were so close. When you connected the 2:30:07 dots in Scott's content, the picture itself was actually painfully clear. 2:30:12 This was a man who was fantasizing about becoming a mass shooter. I mean, he quite literally sang about it in tracks 2:30:19 like My Bullets Will Touch You. And if that wasn't enough already, he would even write about it and even talk about 2:30:25 it in his videos. For four long years, Scott documented his failures with women, relationships, and work. And 2:30:32 eventually, he arrived at one false conclusion, that violence was his solution. The really frustrating thing 2:30:39 here is that all of his songs, videos, and essays were not merely harmless venting, but quite literally propaganda 2:30:46 for violence. And it's worth highlighting here that he wasn't trying to hide it either. He was quite 2:30:52 literally shouting about it. He spent years writing essays, recording songs, 2:30:57 posting video rants, and even grabbing women in public. And when he was banned, 2:31:02 fired, and expelled over and over again about this behavior, still nothing happened. The legal system quite 2:31:09 literally shrugged it off and called it free speech. And if you really look at the truth behind all of this, the lack 2:31:16 of punishment probably normalized it for him, too. By the middle of 2018, Scott 2:31:21 had nothing left but hate. Without a job, any prospects or community, and 2:31:26 just a head full of absolute baloney, his mental health tanked from insufferable to outright dangerous. It 2:31:33 was during this summer that through his fantasies, he began to methodically prepare for one. On July the 23rd, 2018, 2:31:41 Scott walked into a porn shop in Orange County and bought a Glock 17. And because his record contained no actual 2:31:47 convictions, his background check revealed nothing. Moving forward, over the following weeks, he stockpiled on 2:31:54 ammunition. And in one sick display of control, he also chose to target a yoga studio, which, as you can imagine, would 2:32:01 be a room filled with mostly women. You know, I don't think Scott realized this, but instead of shooting up a yoga 2:32:08 studio, he could have simply just joined one instead. I mean, it's a great place to relax and get to know people that you 2:32:15 could even go on to date. In August and then September of 2018, he meticulously 2:32:21 researched Hot Yoga Tallahassee online, calling the studio multiple times to predict their schedules and crowd 2:32:28 patterns. Moving into October, he unfortunately finally circled a date, 2:32:33 and that would be November the 2nd at 5:30 p.m. And then, probably in what he 2:32:38 believed would be his own way of leaving something behind, just like Elliot Roger did, he then uploaded a song named Femal 2:32:45 to the internet. Curiously, his entire album was uploaded on the same day that he planned the attack. And I know that 2:32:52 it says November the 3rd here, but I think that's because I'm technically a day ahead in Australia. If you listen 2:32:58 closely to his song, it basically spells out his plan to find as many females as 2:33:03 possible to die with, which in hindsight is absolutely horrific. When all I hear 2:33:09 all the time is no. When all I feel is my frustration grow. 2:33:18 [ __ ] them all. [ __ ] them all. 2:33:29 On the afternoon of November the 2nd, 2018, Scott drove more than 250 mi north 2:33:35 from Deltona to Tallahassee. Inside the car was his Glock, extra magazines, and 2:33:40 a yoga mat with him, of course, to blend in for as long as he needed. He would even bring his own earplugs with him, 2:33:47 not to drown out his own music while driving in his car, but to muffle the sound of his own gunfire. Scott arrived 2:33:54 shortly after 5:30 p.m. with a black bag slung across his chest. Once inside, he 2:34:00 paid for a single session, unrolled his mat, and then smiled. And believe it or not, but he even sickenly told staff 2:34:07 that he'd hoped the class would be bigger. He then waited both patiently and deliberately until the class was 2:34:13 underway. And unfortunately, you know what happened next. And as you can see 2:34:18 from the videos and news reports of the aftermath, it wasn't good. Tonight, the mass shooting inside a Tallahassee yoga 2:34:25 studio making national headlines has left people around the country and police asking why. The gunman killed two 2:34:33 people and hurt at least four others. Police have identified him as this guy, 40-year-old Scott Beerley of Deltona. 2:34:40 Investigators were at the home where he lived in Valuchia County earlier today and so was News 6's Clay Leard. 2:34:47 Throughout the day, detectives were inside this home on Azora Drive looking for clues to try to help them figure out 2:34:54 why a man would open fire on a Tallahassee yoga studio. Tallahassee police say 40-year-old Scott Beerley 2:35:01 pretended to be a customer before pulling out a handgun at Hot Yoga in Tallahassee Friday evening, killing two 2:35:08 people and injuring five others before killing himself. Officers searched the hotel room where Beerley was staying 2:35:14 nearby, but they hoped they could get more answers from what was inside this home where Beerley lived in Deltona, 2:35:21 nearly 4 hours away from the shooting. Several neighbors tell News 6 that Beerley was renting a room out of this 2:35:26 home, but not for very long. Quiet. Harley saw him. I think he was a 2:35:33 loner, and I can see that he mind his own business. Beerley had been arrested in 2:35:39 the past for grabbing women, but those charges were eventually dropped. We've also learned Beerley worked at Valuchia 2:35:45 County Schools in 2017, but it's not clear in what capacity. We really just got a very weird vibe 2:35:52 from him. My daughter had an incident with him at her job and um with kind of like watching people and making them 2:35:58 feel uncomfortable. And so, we just all got weird vibes from him. Police say they still haven't found a connection 2:36:04 between Beerley and the yoga studio or the people that were inside in Deltona. 2:36:10 Clay Leard, News 6. Scott Beerley opened fire inside that 2:36:15 yoga classroom and as a result, five people were injured with a further two 2:36:20 murdered. These numbers are already tragic, but what is also horrifying to learn is that if nobody' intervened to 2:36:27 stop him, it would likely be far higher. In the hours after the shooting, people learned that a man had actually attacked 2:36:33 Scott with a broom and a vacuum cleaner, giving people precious time to run away. And I think after realizing that he was 2:36:40 easily going to be overpowered, Scott then stopped his attack early and ended his own life instead. The police arrived 2:36:47 promptly with innocent civilians and bystanders from nearby restaurants and bars offering to help in any way that 2:36:54 they can. And while those injured would go on to make a full recovery, it sadly 2:36:59 was all too late for two women. Mora Binkley was only 21 years old when 2:37:05 she passed away. She is remembered as a bright and kind student and was the glue of her friendship group. She had her 2:37:12 whole life ahead of her and a future that was full of promise was cut short before it could even begin. Dr. Nancy 2:37:19 Van Bessum was 61 years old and was a respected physician and the chief medical director of a major health plan. 2:37:26 She was also a faculty member at Florida State University's College of Medicine. She had spent her entire life caring for 2:37:34 other people and now close to her retirement. She was gunned down. In the days that followed, Tallahassee grieved. 2:37:41 Vigils caught hundreds of people and the city tried to honor what had been lost. 2:37:46 For all who knew them, Nancy Van Vessum and Mora Binkley are remembered by the way they lived with compassion, 2:37:53 kindness, and strength. And their absence has left a hole that can never be filled. In the months after the 2:37:59 shooting, the US Secret Services National Threat Assessment Center conducted a deep review on Scott's case, 2:38:06 where they sought to publish a report to extract lessons from the tragedy. And unfortunately, but also kind of 2:38:13 expected, their findings were quite damaging towards public trust. To begin 2:38:18 with, they noted that Scott had what they referred to as quote, "A lengthy 2:38:23 and publicly open history of misogynistic extremism." They also noted that he had displayed nearly every 2:38:30 behavioral red flag on record, which included violent fantasies, a history of bullying and being bullied, financial 2:38:37 instability, untreated mental health struggles, chronic interpersonal aggression, and an anger that only grew 2:38:44 sharper with time. That means for the first time ever in his life, Scott could actually offer people the entire 2:38:51 package. It's just a shame it was kind of in the most rotten and horrific way possible. Experts would also conclude 2:38:57 that not only are these all common markers among perpetrators of misogynistic violence, but in Scott's 2:39:04 case, every marker was either missed or ignored. Put quite simply, the report's conclusion was unambiguous. It 2:39:11 determined that both communities and law enforcement did not do enough to stop Scott in his tracks, and that included 2:39:18 the FBI. The report's conclusion was both comforting but also bitter because 2:39:24 although Scott's rampage was certainly entirely avoidable, it at least forced this conversation into the spotlight. 2:39:30 Before stories like Scott Beerley or Elliot Roger, incel violence was rarely acknowledged outside of the internet. 2:39:37 But now agencies across the world recognize it. And on the note of recognition, I just want to highlight 2:39:43 here that Scott never actually achieved the infamy that he so desperately wanted. Quite the opposite actually 2:39:49 because instead he's basically remembered as this insufferable coward who made terrible music. Over time 2:39:55 Scott's name will slowly become a distant nightmare. And for now we'll remember the two who really mattered. Of 2:40:02 course that being Dr. Nancy Van Bessum and Mora Binkley. Friends and families will remember them for everything good 2:40:09 that they had created. Of course that being something that Scott never achieved. So, to wrap this case up, what 2:40:17 precisely can we learn from this story? Well, more than anything, it's a cautionary tale. Not only should we 2:40:23 never ignore warning signs like these again, but when someone commits a serious crime, it should be dealt with 2:40:30 seriously. I mean, that's kind of obvious when I say it out loud, right? But in this case, that opportunity was 2:40:38 missed on multiple occasions. And that's the case of Scott Bealey. And 2:40:45 I think what makes this story so infuriating is how predictable this was years prior. Scott wasn't this 2:40:51 misunderstood genius or tortured soul, but just some angry man who refused to 2:40:56 better himself. Again, what I find fascinating here and in a way ironic is that Scott could have quite literally 2:41:02 attended that same class, got to know people, and then even meet the future love of his life. Because yoga is filled 2:41:09 with women, so why not just talk to them? The man needed therapy, obviously. I mean, anybody who refers to women as 2:41:16 demons quite clearly needs help. Oh, and there is one other lesson to learn from this story. If you ever come across 2:41:22 music this terrible, make sure you contact the FBI. Anyway, those are my thoughts on the case of Scott Bealey. Of 2:41:28 course, I'd love to know what you think about this one, too. So, please leave a comment down below. And with that said, Outro 2:41:33 folks, so concludes Coffee House Crimes most horrifying cases of 2025. and hope 2:41:38 you found this compilation well darkly interesting. But before you go, what case did you personally find most 2:41:45 horrifying this year? Not just of the five covered today, but out of all the stories I've covered in 2025. That isn't 2:41:52 a random question, by the way. I genuinely want to know because what it will do for me is help me research next 2:41:57 year's cases. So, please do share a comment down below. Just one final thing before I finish today. I just want to 2:42:03 say thank you so much for being part of the coffee house crime community. not only today in this video, but throughout 2:42:08 the entire year of 2025.
