We've 00:01:34.370 --> 00:01:38.170 been hearing it in the last few weeks that God 00:01:38.170 --> 00:01:42.469 is speaking about us moving forward in his truths 00:01:42.469 --> 00:01:46.250 to partner with what he's wanting to do, right? 00:01:46.390 --> 00:01:49.989 He actually wants you to have a partnership with 00:01:49.989 --> 00:01:53.209 him. Yes, he wants to draw you to himself as 00:01:53.209 --> 00:01:56.250 he's the God of salvation, but he also wants 00:01:56.250 --> 00:01:59.129 to move you from that place of just having an 00:01:59.129 --> 00:02:02.569 encounter of salvation to actually move you into 00:02:02.569 --> 00:02:05.269 partnership that you would walk in the spirit 00:02:05.269 --> 00:02:09.289 and that you would actually live him. You would 00:02:09.289 --> 00:02:12.310 be his mouthpiece. You would be his hands, his 00:02:12.310 --> 00:02:16.250 feet, that he could actually live in you like 00:02:16.250 --> 00:02:19.639 the Holy Spirit was in Jesus Christ. That's the 00:02:19.639 --> 00:02:23.139 goal. And one of the things that we've been talking 00:02:23.139 --> 00:02:25.280 about is we've been talking about this revelation 00:02:25.280 --> 00:02:28.719 of Passover. And we started about a month ago 00:02:28.719 --> 00:02:31.000 and we started dealing with this revelation of 00:02:31.000 --> 00:02:33.460 Passover that the apostle Paul through the Holy 00:02:33.460 --> 00:02:35.879 Spirit brings to the Corinthian church because 00:02:35.879 --> 00:02:41.599 Passover is a direct correlation to the cross 00:02:41.599 --> 00:02:45.030 of Jesus Christ. So when you see Passover and 00:02:45.030 --> 00:02:47.530 you see the children of Israel coming out of 00:02:47.530 --> 00:02:51.650 the land of slavery, as soon as God brings that 00:02:51.650 --> 00:02:57.349 last sign, it was a invitation to what only he 00:02:57.349 --> 00:03:00.710 could do. He could be the only one who preserved 00:03:00.710 --> 00:03:05.590 life. And it comes by the blood of a lamb on 00:03:05.590 --> 00:03:09.159 the doorposts of a house or a heart. Jesus is 00:03:09.159 --> 00:03:12.539 exactly that. He was crucified at the time of 00:03:12.539 --> 00:03:16.060 Passover. He was the Lamb of God that takes away 00:03:16.060 --> 00:03:18.819 the sin of the world. Therefore, when we see 00:03:18.819 --> 00:03:21.560 Passover in the Old Testament, we understand 00:03:21.560 --> 00:03:24.580 that Passover has been celebrated for 1 ,500, 00:03:24.659 --> 00:03:29.360 1 ,600 years plus, more than that. In fact, it's 00:03:29.360 --> 00:03:32.840 probably more closer to 3 ,600 years in the reality 00:03:32.840 --> 00:03:37.039 of what was established as they came out of Egypt. 00:03:37.280 --> 00:03:42.039 But New Testament wise, it says Passover is Jesus 00:03:42.039 --> 00:03:45.139 Christ, the cross. And in order to understand 00:03:45.139 --> 00:03:47.780 the cross, you can't just leave the cross. The 00:03:47.780 --> 00:03:51.639 cross includes resurrection. Why is that so important? 00:03:51.840 --> 00:03:55.939 Because if Jesus... was just to die without a 00:03:55.939 --> 00:03:59.180 resurrection, it meant that God would have to 00:03:59.180 --> 00:04:02.879 keep providing a sacrifice every year like he 00:04:02.879 --> 00:04:06.919 did in the Old Testament. Every year in the Old 00:04:06.919 --> 00:04:12.280 Testament, Passover was again and again and again. 00:04:12.340 --> 00:04:16.220 Why? It was almost like God was showing his grace. 00:04:18.000 --> 00:04:21.939 Knowing that he could not redeem man with animal 00:04:21.939 --> 00:04:25.519 blood. But he would show his long suffering of 00:04:25.519 --> 00:04:29.060 his nature and his patience with us. That every 00:04:29.060 --> 00:04:34.000 year he would push out again. Reset. Reset. reset, 00:04:34.139 --> 00:04:38.139 reset, reset until I finally bring my timing 00:04:38.139 --> 00:04:40.879 with what I want to do. I'm going to show you 00:04:40.879 --> 00:04:44.160 my nature and my character. And that is, I am 00:04:44.160 --> 00:04:48.319 the God who has patience and long suffering beyond 00:04:48.319 --> 00:04:52.060 what you have ever known. I am the endless, God 00:04:52.060 --> 00:04:56.860 has endless patience if he wants it. I don't. 00:04:58.029 --> 00:05:01.730 Just ask my two daughters that I've raised. They'll 00:05:01.730 --> 00:05:05.829 say, dad has limits. I've never been accused 00:05:05.829 --> 00:05:13.230 of being a man of endless patience. But God has 00:05:13.230 --> 00:05:17.310 always revealed himself as a God of patience 00:05:17.310 --> 00:05:20.930 and long suffering. And when Jesus came, he became 00:05:20.930 --> 00:05:25.970 that lamb that was now not connected. to an animal. 00:05:26.050 --> 00:05:29.589 He was now representing the lamb of God who had 00:05:29.589 --> 00:05:32.629 the blood of God. And because he was a perfect 00:05:32.629 --> 00:05:36.170 sacrifice, God's spirit raised him from the dead 00:05:36.170 --> 00:05:42.529 and he lives. And because of that, God now wants 00:05:42.529 --> 00:05:45.930 us, and this is the key that I'm trying to move 00:05:45.930 --> 00:05:50.110 us in. God wants us to understand that salvation 00:05:50.110 --> 00:05:55.189 is absolutely critical. It is the first door 00:05:55.189 --> 00:05:59.170 that we are to go through to get into the kingdom 00:05:59.170 --> 00:06:01.329 of God. No man can come to the Father except 00:06:01.329 --> 00:06:04.350 through Jesus Christ. But that's not where he 00:06:04.350 --> 00:06:07.069 wants you just to stay. Yes, he wants you to 00:06:07.069 --> 00:06:11.170 have salvation, but there is a progression, a 00:06:11.170 --> 00:06:14.529 progression to this second feast that he would 00:06:14.529 --> 00:06:17.189 show the children of Israel. This second feast 00:06:17.189 --> 00:06:20.970 was called the Feast of Pentecost. And in the 00:06:20.970 --> 00:06:24.290 Feast of Pentecost, there are multiple things 00:06:24.290 --> 00:06:28.910 that God begins to do to reveal, even though 00:06:28.910 --> 00:06:32.709 the Jews celebrated Pentecost naturally, and 00:06:32.709 --> 00:06:35.470 even though the church was celebrating Pentecost 00:06:35.470 --> 00:06:38.769 naturally, when God fulfilled the day of Pentecost 00:06:38.769 --> 00:06:41.910 in Acts chapter 2 at the birth of the church, 00:06:42.069 --> 00:06:46.740 there's about 15 to 20 things. that Pentecost 00:06:46.740 --> 00:06:50.939 actually does that we are supposed to be aware 00:06:50.939 --> 00:06:56.439 of and actually walk in. And for most of us, 00:06:56.459 --> 00:07:01.220 the biggest divide in our Christianity is that 00:07:01.220 --> 00:07:04.519 we're divided thinking that only the cross is 00:07:04.519 --> 00:07:07.680 the highest. The cross and the resurrection seems 00:07:07.680 --> 00:07:10.100 to be the only thing that the church can rally 00:07:10.100 --> 00:07:15.339 around. When the reality is we should be rallying 00:07:15.339 --> 00:07:21.019 around Pentecost. Now listen, here's where the 00:07:21.019 --> 00:07:24.759 church most likely is at. If you've ever heard 00:07:24.759 --> 00:07:28.779 anybody talk that has not understood what the 00:07:28.779 --> 00:07:31.740 Feast of Pentecost is and the significance of 00:07:31.740 --> 00:07:34.120 why we should walk in it, they want to choose 00:07:34.120 --> 00:07:37.930 two feasts out of the three. They want to choose 00:07:37.930 --> 00:07:40.709 Passover because that represents salvation. And 00:07:40.709 --> 00:07:45.069 then they want to skip Pentecost and go to trumpets 00:07:45.069 --> 00:07:49.129 and tabernacles. Why? Get saved and move right 00:07:49.129 --> 00:07:53.649 to the rapture. Get saved and move right to the 00:07:53.649 --> 00:08:01.189 coming of the Lord. But that wasn't how God led 00:08:01.189 --> 00:08:04.769 them. He didn't go from the first feast in the 00:08:04.769 --> 00:08:07.970 first months. all the way to the end feast of 00:08:07.970 --> 00:08:12.930 the end month. He led them into a experience 00:08:12.930 --> 00:08:17.610 of understanding this feast of Pentecost because 00:08:17.610 --> 00:08:22.110 it would be the feast where most of the work 00:08:22.110 --> 00:08:28.670 would get done. What do you mean by that? Well, 00:08:28.689 --> 00:08:32.669 spiritually, God does the work in all the feasts 00:08:32.669 --> 00:08:37.519 himself. It's not us. He alone provided, as we 00:08:37.519 --> 00:08:39.820 saw in Passover about three, four weeks ago, 00:08:39.840 --> 00:08:43.399 we looked at it at communion. We can't provide 00:08:43.399 --> 00:08:45.940 a sacrifice for us. Only God could provide his 00:08:45.940 --> 00:08:48.639 son. But then in the midst of it, what did he 00:08:48.639 --> 00:08:52.259 do? He said, now I want you to join with me and 00:08:52.259 --> 00:08:55.970 I want you to. I want you to participate in the 00:08:55.970 --> 00:08:58.769 feast of unleavened bread with Passover, which 00:08:58.769 --> 00:09:01.009 means what? You have to search your house. You 00:09:01.009 --> 00:09:03.070 have to search your heart. You got to get rid 00:09:03.070 --> 00:09:05.210 of the leaven and you got to bring that. And 00:09:05.210 --> 00:09:07.429 I want you to keep that. And if you won't keep 00:09:07.429 --> 00:09:09.590 that, it doesn't matter if you have the blood 00:09:09.590 --> 00:09:11.669 on the doorpost of your house, or it doesn't 00:09:11.669 --> 00:09:15.149 matter if you have the lamb. If you won't keep 00:09:15.149 --> 00:09:17.789 the feast of leaven, I've got to remove you. 00:09:18.669 --> 00:09:20.870 The priest of unleavened bread, I have to remove 00:09:20.870 --> 00:09:24.389 you from the principle. Why? Because the whole 00:09:24.389 --> 00:09:28.110 principle was he's partnering with you. He does 00:09:28.110 --> 00:09:31.269 what only he could do to get you there. And then 00:09:31.269 --> 00:09:33.970 he's saying in that part, in that responsibility, 00:09:34.149 --> 00:09:38.289 I now invite you as a holy calling to come have 00:09:38.289 --> 00:09:41.970 partake of my nature. And that nature is pure 00:09:41.970 --> 00:09:45.629 and clean and true. And that symbolism that they 00:09:45.629 --> 00:09:47.990 had to do in Israel was to say, our part was 00:09:47.990 --> 00:09:51.470 to. get out of anything that would cause pride 00:09:51.470 --> 00:09:56.990 or that would represent sin. Now we move to what 00:09:56.990 --> 00:09:59.889 we know as, if that's Passover, that's the cross. 00:09:59.889 --> 00:10:02.870 Cross and the resurrection of Jesus. We can what? 00:10:03.009 --> 00:10:06.080 We have to Call on the name of the Lord. That's 00:10:06.080 --> 00:10:07.879 what the scriptures are so important. Whoever 00:10:07.879 --> 00:10:10.200 calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. 00:10:10.399 --> 00:10:13.379 What else has to happen? We actually have to 00:10:13.379 --> 00:10:17.379 believe and receive him into ourselves. If we 00:10:17.379 --> 00:10:20.019 confess with our mouth and believe in our heart 00:10:20.019 --> 00:10:22.340 that God has raised him from the dead, I shall 00:10:22.340 --> 00:10:25.679 be saved. And then what else do I have a responsibility? 00:10:25.919 --> 00:10:29.419 I have to confess and believe. That never changes. 00:10:30.980 --> 00:10:33.419 Everything else in the word of God that you're 00:10:33.419 --> 00:10:37.120 going to learn starts from that position. You 00:10:37.120 --> 00:10:40.980 have to what? Believe and then confess it. It 00:10:40.980 --> 00:10:42.620 didn't just happen at salvation. You don't just 00:10:42.620 --> 00:10:45.320 have a one shot of believing and confessing. 00:10:46.179 --> 00:10:50.480 It means that. of getting it into your heart, 00:10:50.580 --> 00:10:53.340 getting the truth in your heart, and hearing 00:10:53.340 --> 00:10:57.620 your profession of his word is what actually 00:10:57.620 --> 00:11:01.059 establishes you walking in faith as he develops 00:11:01.059 --> 00:11:06.179 you. It's a progression. Can I get an amen? And 00:11:06.179 --> 00:11:08.759 he moves you from that progression of salvation 00:11:08.759 --> 00:11:14.240 to what? Another experience. Doesn't mean your 00:11:14.240 --> 00:11:16.940 salvation is gone at Pentecost. It means that 00:11:16.940 --> 00:11:21.559 he wants to build on the cornerstone of your 00:11:21.559 --> 00:11:24.220 foundation of welcoming Jesus into your life. 00:11:24.279 --> 00:11:27.200 And he does it by what? He begins to bring you 00:11:27.200 --> 00:11:31.080 into a revelation of Pentecost. Pastor Trent, 00:11:31.200 --> 00:11:34.679 about five, six weeks ago, I know sometimes stringing 00:11:34.679 --> 00:11:36.779 this together, you don't remember, I kind of 00:11:36.779 --> 00:11:39.039 bring all these things back as I'm trying to 00:11:39.039 --> 00:11:41.879 prepare. as he gave us an understanding of the 00:11:41.879 --> 00:11:44.100 beginning of Pentecost, we need to understand 00:11:44.100 --> 00:11:50.299 that Jesus, Jesus' whole point of ministry from 00:11:50.299 --> 00:11:53.000 the time he was baptized in the Holy Spirit in 00:11:53.000 --> 00:11:56.580 water and the Spirit of God came on him. Let 00:11:56.580 --> 00:11:59.039 me say it again. He was baptized in water for 00:11:59.039 --> 00:12:02.259 the fullness and John saw the Spirit of God come 00:12:02.259 --> 00:12:05.659 on him and never lift off of him. From that point 00:12:05.659 --> 00:12:11.100 for three and a half years, Jesus... lived to 00:12:11.100 --> 00:12:16.700 point to the Father and the Holy Spirit. Every 00:12:16.700 --> 00:12:22.200 message that he had was about what his Father 00:12:22.200 --> 00:12:26.179 was doing and the Holy Spirit that was revealing 00:12:26.179 --> 00:12:31.240 it. Now, for me, and I'm going to say something 00:12:31.240 --> 00:12:33.419 that might be a little controversial for you, 00:12:33.500 --> 00:12:37.940 but the body of Christ is so divided on the Holy 00:12:37.940 --> 00:12:44.740 Spirit. I think, honestly, that one of the greatest 00:12:44.740 --> 00:12:47.899 doctrine of demons, now just hang on to your 00:12:47.899 --> 00:12:50.820 seat, one of the greatest doctrine of demons 00:12:50.820 --> 00:12:55.059 is this, that in the last hundred years, 120 00:12:55.059 --> 00:12:59.720 probably to be exact, the last 120 years, this 00:12:59.720 --> 00:13:04.419 doctrine that came into the church That the Holy 00:13:04.419 --> 00:13:08.039 Spirit has ceased in the first century church. 00:13:08.340 --> 00:13:11.460 And now because we have the word of God by itself, 00:13:11.539 --> 00:13:14.779 that is the perfect. And there's no more need 00:13:14.779 --> 00:13:17.460 to flow in the gifts of the spirit. There's no 00:13:17.460 --> 00:13:19.639 more need for the prophetic. There's no more 00:13:19.639 --> 00:13:21.700 need for the church to have that because we already 00:13:21.700 --> 00:13:27.279 have all that we need. To me, that is a straight 00:13:27.279 --> 00:13:30.639 up misrepresentation of the scripture. Straight 00:13:30.639 --> 00:13:33.889 up. Now I know there's other people that present 00:13:33.889 --> 00:13:35.950 that a little more kind than what I'm doing like 00:13:35.950 --> 00:13:39.870 I said. But the reality is I need to call it 00:13:39.870 --> 00:13:42.029 as it was because I'm telling you I grew up under 00:13:42.029 --> 00:13:46.149 that. I grew up under it and I had no framework. 00:13:47.450 --> 00:13:52.009 And when I realized that there was no place in 00:13:52.009 --> 00:13:56.269 the scriptures beside that interpretation by 00:13:56.269 --> 00:14:00.049 theologians. Do you understand? that first century 00:14:00.049 --> 00:14:02.429 fathers, second century fathers, third century 00:14:02.429 --> 00:14:05.269 fathers, fourth century fathers, all believed 00:14:05.269 --> 00:14:08.809 in the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. Fact is, 00:14:08.809 --> 00:14:12.509 when you get even to John Wesley and in the 1700s, 00:14:12.509 --> 00:14:14.990 he was talking about the empowerment of the Holy 00:14:14.990 --> 00:14:19.629 Spirit and he was a Methodist. Do you know when 00:14:19.629 --> 00:14:22.980 this doctrine came in? It was a response to the 00:14:22.980 --> 00:14:26.620 outpouring of the Azusa Street Revival in 1903, 00:14:26.620 --> 00:14:30.340 4, 6, right in there. I don't have it on my notes. 00:14:30.440 --> 00:14:36.200 The reality was it was we don't like having this 00:14:36.200 --> 00:14:39.779 happen so we believe that the Holy Spirit isn't 00:14:39.779 --> 00:14:42.519 for us today. It was only for the pioneering 00:14:42.519 --> 00:14:44.460 of the first century apostles and the church 00:14:44.460 --> 00:14:49.850 to get off the ground. That mindset. Has now 00:14:49.850 --> 00:14:52.889 divided the body of Christ. And the Bible says. 00:14:54.029 --> 00:14:56.789 When there is what? Division in the house. It 00:14:56.789 --> 00:15:01.070 can't stand. So what has happened? The church. 00:15:01.580 --> 00:15:05.820 Has only been able to stand. Around one rallying 00:15:05.820 --> 00:15:09.120 truth. Of the resurrection of Jesus. The death 00:15:09.120 --> 00:15:11.340 and resurrection of Jesus Christ. When it should 00:15:11.340 --> 00:15:14.019 be. Rallying around the death and resurrection 00:15:14.019 --> 00:15:17.159 of Jesus Christ. And the outpouring of the spirit. 00:15:17.240 --> 00:15:19.980 In which we all flow in. To grow up as sons and 00:15:19.980 --> 00:15:25.139 daughters. And so that's where we're headed. 00:15:26.240 --> 00:15:29.179 You're saying well I don't. I told you I was coming to pour out 00:15:57.279 --> 00:16:02.600 the promise of the Father. Quit waiting for another 00:16:02.600 --> 00:16:06.919 season when this is the season I need you to 00:16:06.919 --> 00:16:20.019 embrace. Now, Jesus, son of David, I bind that 00:16:20.019 --> 00:16:23.450 clock in the name of Christ. All right. Let's 00:16:23.450 --> 00:16:28.690 skip ahead. I told you, Matthew, you might get 00:16:28.690 --> 00:16:36.549 a little bit of a repeat next week because I 00:16:36.549 --> 00:16:38.370 didn't get first service here at all. As he's dealing in John 00:16:53.539 --> 00:16:56.919 chapter four with the woman at the well. The 00:16:56.919 --> 00:17:00.639 woman at the well is an incredible passage, right? 00:17:00.799 --> 00:17:03.740 It's where we get, it's where we have an understanding. 00:17:03.919 --> 00:17:06.240 The father is looking for those who will worship 00:17:06.240 --> 00:17:11.900 him in spirit and in truth. But do we often look 00:17:11.900 --> 00:17:15.400 at the scriptures behind that, after that? Maybe 00:17:15.400 --> 00:17:23.259 just turn to John chapter four. And let me just 00:17:23.259 --> 00:17:25.599 give you this this morning and then we will, 00:17:25.700 --> 00:17:30.579 because I want to deal with the water coming 00:17:30.579 --> 00:17:34.880 out of us from the Holy Spirit. But I want you 00:17:34.880 --> 00:17:38.119 to see this passage that Jesus is going to deal 00:17:38.119 --> 00:17:50.460 with the disciples. After Jesus brings this whole 00:17:50.460 --> 00:17:53.440 revelation to this woman, and I've got about 00:17:53.440 --> 00:17:58.279 six minutes here. Right here he said, Jesus said, 00:17:58.420 --> 00:18:01.079 if you knew the gift of God and who it is that 00:18:01.079 --> 00:18:03.779 is saying to you, give me a drink, you would 00:18:03.779 --> 00:18:07.019 have asked of him and he would have given you 00:18:07.019 --> 00:18:11.859 living water. Now, last Saturday, on fire on 00:18:11.859 --> 00:18:15.859 the altar, we had a special quarterly, just elongated 00:18:15.859 --> 00:18:19.460 presence of God in ministry. I began to teach 00:18:19.460 --> 00:18:24.579 on the scriptures on God is a giver. He is the 00:18:24.579 --> 00:18:28.119 gift giver. And so this is what makes part of 00:18:28.119 --> 00:18:30.839 this thing that has happened in the body of Christ 00:18:30.839 --> 00:18:35.019 so heinous. Because if a gift is from him and 00:18:35.019 --> 00:18:39.779 of him, is connected to him, it's holy, it's 00:18:39.779 --> 00:18:43.420 righteous, it's true, it's powerful, it's living. 00:18:44.019 --> 00:18:47.900 And his nature is to give that gift.
