It's 00:05:57.649 --> 00:06:01.569 amazing. I'm convinced that you haven't seen 00:06:01.569 --> 00:06:05.980 nothing yet. And he alone has the power to turn 00:06:05.980 --> 00:06:09.819 things around so that the future becomes bright 00:06:09.819 --> 00:06:13.160 and the moment, the momentary affliction, the 00:06:13.160 --> 00:06:16.600 momentary problem, the momentary diagnosis, the 00:06:16.600 --> 00:06:19.819 momentary issue is gonna turn around for good 00:06:19.819 --> 00:06:25.180 in your life. You know, the nation of Israel 00:06:25.180 --> 00:06:29.649 really had a rough go. In the time and ministry 00:06:29.649 --> 00:06:32.509 of Jeremiah, Jeremiah actually witnessed the 00:06:32.509 --> 00:06:36.670 city of Jerusalem be destroyed and it was horrific 00:06:36.670 --> 00:06:41.110 and terrible and just incredible things were 00:06:41.110 --> 00:06:44.750 going on and things were falling down around. 00:06:45.920 --> 00:06:49.300 and he's looking around the nation and the city 00:06:49.300 --> 00:06:52.180 and the people of God. And this is the moment, 00:06:52.300 --> 00:06:55.019 the context, Jeremiah 29, 11, we'll get there 00:06:55.019 --> 00:06:58.480 in just a moment, but Jeremiah 29, 11 says, for 00:06:58.480 --> 00:07:01.639 I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, 00:07:01.779 --> 00:07:08.899 they are plans for good and not for disaster. 00:07:09.639 --> 00:07:17.790 To give you a future. And a hope. A future and 00:07:17.790 --> 00:07:19.769 a hope. Turn to your neighbor and say, you got 00:07:19.769 --> 00:07:22.649 a future. Turn to your other neighbor and say, 00:07:22.730 --> 00:07:32.310 there's hope for you. And this is actually a 00:07:32.310 --> 00:07:36.129 season of judgment that all the book of Jeremiah 00:07:36.129 --> 00:07:38.670 is prophesying about judgment and God. really 00:07:38.670 --> 00:07:41.149 confronting Israel about the sin and things that 00:07:41.149 --> 00:07:44.230 are going on. But then he ends his book with 00:07:44.230 --> 00:07:47.250 these chapters of promise for what God really 00:07:47.250 --> 00:07:50.310 wants to do and ultimately wants to work together 00:07:50.310 --> 00:07:54.569 in their lives. Later in Jeremiah 31, a few chapters 00:07:54.569 --> 00:07:59.209 later in Jeremiah 31, verse 10 through 14, says, 00:07:59.290 --> 00:08:01.629 listen to this message from the Lord, you nations 00:08:01.629 --> 00:08:04.639 of the world. Proclaim it in distant coastlands. 00:08:04.819 --> 00:08:08.079 The Lord who has scattered his people will gather 00:08:08.079 --> 00:08:12.100 them and watch over them as a shepherd does his 00:08:12.100 --> 00:08:16.139 flock. For the Lord has redeemed Israel from 00:08:16.139 --> 00:08:20.360 those too strong for them. They will come home 00:08:20.360 --> 00:08:26.379 and sing songs of joy on the heights of Jerusalem. 00:08:27.160 --> 00:08:32.110 They will be radiant because of the Lord's. Good 00:08:32.110 --> 00:08:37.230 gifts. The abundant crops of grain, new wine 00:08:37.230 --> 00:08:40.990 and olive oil and the healthy flocks and herds. 00:08:41.009 --> 00:08:45.850 Their life will be like a watered garden and 00:08:45.850 --> 00:08:50.110 all their sorrows will be gone. Later in that chapter, 00:09:23.309 --> 00:09:25.370 just a couple verses later, it says in verse 00:09:25.370 --> 00:09:28.529 16, this is what the Lord says, do not weep any 00:09:28.529 --> 00:09:31.409 longer for I will reward you, says the Lord. 00:09:32.029 --> 00:09:35.429 Your children will come back to you from the 00:09:35.429 --> 00:09:41.750 distant land of the enemy. Ha ha. There's somebody 00:09:41.750 --> 00:09:45.889 in the room that needs to hear that. Your children 00:09:45.889 --> 00:09:51.789 will come back to you from the distant land of 00:09:51.789 --> 00:09:58.370 the enemy. What's the Lord say next? There is 00:09:58.370 --> 00:10:05.159 hope. for your future, says the Lord. There is 00:10:05.159 --> 00:10:11.059 hope for your future, says the Lord. Man, I think 00:10:11.059 --> 00:10:13.100 that's a prophetic word for the house. I think 00:10:13.100 --> 00:10:15.299 it's a prophetic word for your life. I think 00:10:15.299 --> 00:10:17.320 that's a prophetic word for your future. Come 00:10:17.320 --> 00:10:20.039 on, somebody. There is hope for your future. 00:10:22.029 --> 00:10:24.889 And I think in our lives, we are in desperate 00:10:24.889 --> 00:10:27.870 need of turning. Or maybe you're in the room 00:10:39.610 --> 00:10:42.009 today and just some things going on in your head 00:10:42.009 --> 00:10:47.950 space needs to shift, needs to turn. Your thinking 00:10:47.950 --> 00:10:51.899 needs to turn around. I just think that there's 00:10:51.899 --> 00:10:54.299 a lot of ways that God can turn some things. 00:10:54.399 --> 00:10:57.059 There is a work that God does in the Bible where 00:10:57.059 --> 00:10:59.220 he turns things. Let's just look for a few minutes 00:10:59.220 --> 00:11:02.879 at the God of the turning in the Bible. The God 00:11:02.879 --> 00:11:05.940 of the turning in the scripture. How many know 00:11:05.940 --> 00:11:08.519 the story of Joseph? You're pretty familiar with 00:11:08.519 --> 00:11:11.419 his story, right? And how that his brothers, 00:11:11.539 --> 00:11:14.720 he was the favorite son. His brothers were very 00:11:14.720 --> 00:11:16.580 jealous. Of course, he didn't use a whole lot 00:11:16.580 --> 00:11:19.360 of wisdom probably. sharing some of the revelation 00:11:19.360 --> 00:11:22.759 that he had from God and began to talk to his 00:11:22.759 --> 00:11:28.740 brothers about how great his future was. His 00:11:28.740 --> 00:11:30.720 brothers were not too open to that prophetic 00:11:30.720 --> 00:11:36.720 ministry. They betrayed him. They wanted to kill 00:11:36.720 --> 00:11:40.159 him. Reuben interfered and said, listen, this 00:11:40.159 --> 00:11:42.519 does not quite go that far. They sold him into 00:11:42.519 --> 00:11:45.539 slavery. He went down to Egypt. Then he goes 00:11:45.539 --> 00:11:49.419 down to Potiphar's house. He stands up for righteousness, 00:11:49.559 --> 00:11:52.419 serves his best. The Bible says the hand of the 00:11:52.419 --> 00:11:55.000 Lord was with him. He gets promoted and then 00:11:55.000 --> 00:11:58.279 betrayed, falsely accused of rape, gets thrown 00:11:58.279 --> 00:12:01.259 into prison, and he's there in prison. I mean, 00:12:01.279 --> 00:12:04.080 it's just from the pit to Potiphar's house to 00:12:04.080 --> 00:12:07.740 the prison, but he eventually gets to the palace 00:12:07.740 --> 00:12:14.159 and becomes a prince of Egypt. Pretty amazing. 00:12:15.500 --> 00:12:17.879 Later, his brothers come in a time of famine. 00:12:17.899 --> 00:12:21.120 Their lives are at risk. They come seeking help. 00:12:21.559 --> 00:12:26.000 Joseph is second in command. And when he reveals 00:12:26.000 --> 00:12:28.039 himself to them, they wig out. They're like, 00:12:28.120 --> 00:12:33.059 okay, we're dead because of what we did. And 00:12:33.059 --> 00:12:35.919 in Genesis chapter 50, watch what Joseph says 00:12:35.919 --> 00:12:40.879 to them about that whole journey. And we're talking 00:12:40.879 --> 00:12:46.120 20, 30, 40 years now. Genesis chapter 50, verse 00:12:46.120 --> 00:12:51.840 20 and 21. It says, you tried to harm me, but 00:12:51.840 --> 00:12:59.679 God made it turn out for the best so that he 00:12:59.679 --> 00:13:02.519 could save all these people as he's now doing. 00:13:02.580 --> 00:13:05.460 Don't be afraid. I'll take care of you and your 00:13:05.460 --> 00:13:07.879 children. After Joseph said this, his brothers 00:13:07.879 --> 00:13:20.759 felt much better. God made it turn out for the 00:13:20.759 --> 00:13:22.580 best. You know, some of you have had some betrayal, 00:13:22.740 --> 00:13:25.720 maybe in business, maybe in family, just in life. 00:13:25.779 --> 00:13:28.379 Maybe family brokenness is part of your story, 00:13:28.500 --> 00:13:31.759 relational heartbreak, whatever it is. God can 00:13:31.759 --> 00:13:37.460 turn that pain into healing. He can restore. 00:13:38.480 --> 00:13:42.370 Joseph. stood for integrity. He even suffered 00:13:42.370 --> 00:13:45.190 for it, being falsely accused. But God turned 00:13:45.190 --> 00:13:50.029 his problem into a promotion and opened up his 00:13:50.029 --> 00:13:55.529 future. Man, I'd like to see that in my life 00:13:55.529 --> 00:13:58.190 in some ways, wouldn't you? So man, let's turn 00:13:58.190 --> 00:13:59.629 this around. I think there's that area could 00:13:59.629 --> 00:14:01.730 be have some turning in my life. There's some 00:14:01.730 --> 00:14:03.750 things that didn't quite go the way I thought 00:14:03.750 --> 00:14:08.159 it would go. But God can step in and restore 00:14:08.159 --> 00:14:12.580 and heal and cause incredible blessing to be 00:14:12.580 --> 00:14:15.580 released in your life just because he turns it. 00:14:16.120 --> 00:14:21.899 He turns it. The story of Esther. You have Esther 00:14:21.899 --> 00:14:25.740 in the turning. The Jewish festival of Purim 00:14:25.740 --> 00:14:29.980 is a celebration of God turning the plot of evil 00:14:29.980 --> 00:14:36.049 into deliverance. From disaster to deliverance, 00:14:36.049 --> 00:14:39.830 God turns that whole thing and saves the people 00:14:39.830 --> 00:14:44.110 of God. Haman, who's a symbolic character of 00:14:44.110 --> 00:14:48.730 the devil, really, in that story, he cast lots 00:14:48.730 --> 00:14:52.250 for the destruction of the Jewish people, just 00:14:52.250 --> 00:14:54.210 kind of rolling the dice to see where am I gonna 00:14:54.210 --> 00:14:56.590 start killing these people? And he's rolling, 00:14:56.649 --> 00:15:00.129 that Hebrew word for lot is the Hebrew word pur, 00:15:00.370 --> 00:15:04.549 where they get purim. In other words, God turned 00:15:04.549 --> 00:15:10.990 the dice in their favor. And now it's a Jewish 00:15:10.990 --> 00:15:15.490 celebration. It's still celebrated today, to 00:15:15.490 --> 00:15:20.190 this very day. Demonic plots against God's people. 00:15:20.490 --> 00:15:23.090 The attack of the enemy coming against your life. 00:15:23.570 --> 00:15:25.450 Come on, some of you are in the room going, I 00:15:25.450 --> 00:15:29.710 think I know what that feels like. Here's what 00:15:29.710 --> 00:15:31.610 it says in the book of Esther chapter 9 verse 00:15:31.610 --> 00:15:35.289 20 through 22. Esther 9 20 and Mordecai wrote 00:15:35.289 --> 00:15:37.690 after all the things go down and God saves his 00:15:37.690 --> 00:15:40.570 people from an incredible miracle. God turning 00:15:40.570 --> 00:15:42.529 the heart of the king, turning the situation, 00:15:42.889 --> 00:15:46.710 turning the issue related to Haman and it says 00:15:46.710 --> 00:15:49.309 Mordecai wrote these things and sent letters 00:15:49.309 --> 00:15:51.470 to all the Jews near and far who were in all 00:15:51.470 --> 00:15:54.230 the provinces of King Ahasuerus to establish 00:15:54.230 --> 00:15:57.539 among them that they should celebrate. the 14th 00:15:57.539 --> 00:16:00.220 and 15th days of the month of Adar as the days 00:16:00.220 --> 00:16:02.240 on which the Jews had rest from their enemies 00:16:02.240 --> 00:16:05.019 as the month, so the whole month is a celebration, 00:16:05.279 --> 00:16:10.899 the month which was what? Turned from sorrow 00:16:10.899 --> 00:16:16.059 to joy for them from morning to a holiday that 00:16:16.059 --> 00:16:18.559 they should make them days of feasting and joy 00:16:18.559 --> 00:16:21.860 of sending presents to one another and gifts 00:16:21.860 --> 00:16:27.460 to the poor. God turned it. And what was disaster 00:16:27.460 --> 00:16:32.879 became deliverance. What was a death sentence 00:16:32.879 --> 00:16:36.440 became a breakthrough of life as God stepped 00:16:36.440 --> 00:16:40.700 in and turned it around in their favor. Oh, I 00:16:40.700 --> 00:16:42.860 got good news for everybody in the room today. 00:16:42.899 --> 00:16:46.539 God is turning the plots of the evil one on their 00:16:46.539 --> 00:16:51.679 head. And victory is coming for you. Come on, 00:16:51.759 --> 00:17:00.000 victory is coming for you. Anybody in the room in a dark and 00:17:07.819 --> 00:17:12.519 rough place? Boy, you can experience some of 00:17:12.519 --> 00:17:15.440 these things in your life. I remember years ago, 00:17:15.480 --> 00:17:19.700 I went through a dark and rough place. I'd broken 00:17:19.700 --> 00:17:23.019 my ankle playing flag football. Never healed 00:17:23.019 --> 00:17:27.230 properly. It's still not... The break never really 00:17:27.230 --> 00:17:30.049 healed and I had fragments of bone in my ankle 00:17:30.049 --> 00:17:32.670 and all of that. And I'm out there with the church 00:17:32.670 --> 00:17:35.730 guys, you know, thinking that I was, you know, 00:17:35.730 --> 00:17:39.890 Emmett Smith and I was not. And broke my ankle 00:17:39.890 --> 00:17:41.910 and just, you know, I'm in a cast, all these 00:17:41.910 --> 00:17:44.990 crazy things. A few weeks later was when we found 00:17:44.990 --> 00:17:48.430 out that our oldest son and only child at the 00:17:48.430 --> 00:17:55.190 time was deaf. Profoundly deaf. A few weeks after 00:17:55.190 --> 00:17:58.529 that, they discovered a growth in my wife's body, 00:17:58.650 --> 00:18:06.789 and we're talking cancer, a disease which was 00:18:06.789 --> 00:18:10.910 common in her family and actually had taken her 00:18:10.910 --> 00:18:14.990 grandmother prematurely earlier in life. To make 00:18:14.990 --> 00:18:19.029 matters worse, Tyson had a seizure right before 00:18:19.029 --> 00:18:23.930 my birthday. Happy birthday to me. He was taken 00:18:23.930 --> 00:18:26.990 to the ER. where the doctors were concerned that 00:18:26.990 --> 00:18:31.490 he might have spinal meningitis. Man, I'm gonna 00:18:31.490 --> 00:18:33.509 tell you, in a matter of a few weeks of time, 00:18:33.569 --> 00:18:35.609 all that stuff happened back to back. Bam, bam, 00:18:35.650 --> 00:18:40.549 bam, bam, bam, bam. That is a dark and rough 00:18:40.549 --> 00:18:45.549 place, bro. I mean, that's when you wanna go, 00:18:45.609 --> 00:18:59.750 what the world is going on here? Isaiah 42, verse 00:18:59.750 --> 00:19:03.369 16, it says, I will lead the blind by ways they 00:19:03.369 --> 00:19:06.210 have not known along unfamiliar paths. I will 00:19:06.210 --> 00:19:11.029 guide them. What's the next phrase? I will turn 00:19:11.029 --> 00:19:17.430 the darkness into light before them. Which basically 00:19:17.430 --> 00:19:19.009 he's saying, I'm gonna heal their blindness. 00:19:20.549 --> 00:19:26.230 And make the rough places smooth.
