What John does to 00:13:55.490 --> 00:13:58.490 the Holy Spirit. One of the themes, everybody 00:13:58.490 --> 00:14:02.029 say the words up and down. Everybody say ascend 00:14:02.029 --> 00:14:06.450 and descend. Okay, so one of the themes is up 00:14:06.450 --> 00:14:09.570 and down. So you have Nathaniel who's praying 00:14:09.570 --> 00:14:14.330 under a fig tree, asking God for a rabbi. And 00:14:14.330 --> 00:14:17.169 then Philip comes to see him and says, we found 00:14:17.169 --> 00:14:21.360 the Messiah. And he and Nathaniel have a conversation. 00:14:22.080 --> 00:14:24.240 And Philip lets him know he's from Nazareth. 00:14:25.279 --> 00:14:28.480 Nazareth's had a bad reputation. And the nobleman 00:15:53.960 --> 00:15:57.820 in verse 47 is asking Jesus to come down and 00:15:57.820 --> 00:16:00.480 heal his son for his point of death. Everybody 00:16:00.480 --> 00:16:10.279 say, down. Sick, dying, down. Jesus says in verse 00:16:10.279 --> 00:16:15.019 48, except you do what? See, everybody say, you 00:16:15.019 --> 00:16:18.100 got to see something. Signs and wonders, you're 00:16:18.100 --> 00:16:19.639 not going to believe. The nobleman said again, 00:16:19.899 --> 00:16:25.200 come down. Jesus says, go your way, your son 00:16:25.200 --> 00:16:29.279 lives. And the man believed the word Jesus had 00:16:29.279 --> 00:16:31.580 spoken to him and went his way. And as he was 00:16:31.580 --> 00:16:35.039 going, everybody say down. His servants met him 00:16:35.039 --> 00:16:36.740 and told him, your son lives. And he began to 00:16:36.740 --> 00:16:40.639 inquire, when? what hour he began to get better. 00:16:41.580 --> 00:16:45.440 Same hour that Jesus spoke. Huh. 00:17:04.279 --> 00:17:09.049 So, the key to signs. One is whatever Jesus tells 00:17:09.049 --> 00:17:13.390 you to do, do it. But here, the second key is 00:17:13.390 --> 00:17:18.869 this. Do what you can do when Jesus tells you 00:17:18.869 --> 00:17:22.710 to do it. Everybody say number one. Whatever 00:17:22.710 --> 00:17:28.630 Jesus tells you to do, do it. They put all 00:17:52.400 --> 00:17:54.740 the sick people over there, all that they could 00:17:54.740 --> 00:17:58.460 gather. Blind, halt, withered, waiting for the 00:17:58.460 --> 00:18:00.380 moving of the water, for an angel went, everybody 00:18:00.380 --> 00:18:06.019 say, down. To where the sick people were. troubled 00:18:06.019 --> 00:18:07.880 the water, and whoever first after the troubling 00:18:07.880 --> 00:18:09.779 of the water stepped in was made whole, whatever 00:18:09.779 --> 00:18:12.339 disease he had. And a certain man was there which 00:18:12.339 --> 00:18:15.279 had a disease 38 years. When Jesus saw him lie 00:18:15.279 --> 00:18:17.119 and knew he'd been there a long time, he said, 00:18:17.240 --> 00:18:20.440 will you make a choice to be made whole? Some people, they want relief. They don't 00:18:29.619 --> 00:18:35.369 necessarily want release. It's really true with 00:18:35.369 --> 00:18:39.869 chronic illnesses. The paralyzed man said to 00:18:39.869 --> 00:18:41.650 him, sir, I have no man when the water's trouble 00:18:41.650 --> 00:18:43.849 to put me into the pool. Well, where's his brothers? 00:18:44.990 --> 00:18:47.910 Where's his cousins? Where's his family? But 00:18:47.910 --> 00:18:51.369 he doesn't have any friends? Huh. And while I'm 00:18:51.369 --> 00:18:53.630 coming down another step, everybody say, down 00:18:53.630 --> 00:18:58.190 before me. So he can't get healed.
