And so when you 00:03:14.050 --> 00:03:17.110 see God and know God for who he is, you're a 00:03:17.110 --> 00:03:22.110 bold risk taker. Now, what did he do? He trusted 00:03:22.110 --> 00:03:26.629 God. Question, are you a bold risk taker? Second 00:03:26.629 --> 00:03:29.490 thing in the next section, we're gonna learn 00:03:29.490 --> 00:03:32.870 that he was a passionate worshiper. That's who 00:03:32.870 --> 00:03:35.490 he was. Number two, a passionate worshiper. And 00:03:35.490 --> 00:03:36.750 you say, well, Chip, where do you get that? Look 00:03:36.750 --> 00:03:39.310 at verse four. I mean, this is a guy that's 00:05:11.500 --> 00:05:14.279 committed murder. This is a guy that has committed 00:05:14.279 --> 00:05:16.819 adultery. This is a guy that realizes when he 00:05:16.819 --> 00:05:19.060 looks at his fathering track record, it's too 00:05:19.060 --> 00:05:22.620 late, he's messed up. He says, be merciful to 00:05:22.620 --> 00:05:25.470 me and answer me. My heart says of you, seek 00:05:25.470 --> 00:05:28.589 his face. Your face, Lord, I will seek. And then 00:05:28.589 --> 00:05:31.149 he's like us. He struggles with rejection. He 00:05:31.149 --> 00:05:33.589 struggles with abandonment. He longs and craves 00:05:33.589 --> 00:05:35.529 acceptance. So listen to this prayer. Do not 00:05:35.529 --> 00:05:38.689 hide your face from me. Do not turn away from 00:05:38.689 --> 00:05:40.970 your servant in anger. Well, why would God be 00:05:40.970 --> 00:05:42.589 angry? And he's trying 00:07:10.490 --> 00:07:13.110 with his mind to put his arms around all of it. 00:07:14.280 --> 00:07:16.339 And the second half of that verse says, the Lord 00:07:16.339 --> 00:07:19.560 is near to all who call upon him, to all who 00:07:19.560 --> 00:07:25.779 call upon him in truth. The apostle Paul wanted a breakthrough. 00:10:55.529 --> 00:10:59.029 It's recorded in 2 Corinthians chapter 12. And 00:10:59.029 --> 00:11:01.929 Paul had quite a bit of faith. He earlier in 00:11:01.929 --> 00:11:04.610 the same chapter talked about God giving him 00:11:04.610 --> 00:11:08.169 this view of heaven. And we don't know what it 00:11:08.169 --> 00:11:10.049 was, but there was something in his life that 00:11:10.049 --> 00:11:13.129 was a real, real pain. And once he asked, God 00:11:13.129 --> 00:11:15.649 said no. Twice he asked, God said no. Three times 00:11:15.649 --> 00:11:20.029 God says no. And then God says to this, 2 Corinthians 00:11:20.029 --> 00:11:23.679 chapter 12, verse nine. I'm not going to give 00:11:23.679 --> 00:11:26.720 you the supernatural relief in this situation. 00:11:27.100 --> 00:11:33.399 My grace is sufficient for you. For power is 00:11:33.399 --> 00:11:37.519 perfected in weakness.
