But one of the areas that has been very 00:07:21.779 --> 00:07:26.220 fascinating for contesters and DXers is in the 00:07:26.220 --> 00:07:31.279 evenings at the Contest and DX Hotel to learn 00:07:31.279 --> 00:07:36.860 about the various tips and tricks for contesting 00:07:36.860 --> 00:07:42.000 and DXing. And this used to be done in the hallways 00:07:42.000 --> 00:07:44.819 and in some suites that were packed with guys 00:07:44.819 --> 00:07:48.279 at the Biltmore Hotel and the Admiral Benbow 00:07:48.279 --> 00:07:53.680 Hotel and the Sheraton Hotel. And back in the 00:07:53.680 --> 00:07:59.579 early part of 2000, there was a contest seminar, 00:07:59.860 --> 00:08:02.720 contest university that was held out in the Washington 00:08:02.720 --> 00:08:06.420 DC area. They would 00:08:17.870 --> 00:08:21.110 spend a day talking. And this was hosted by the 00:08:21.110 --> 00:08:25.610 Yankee Clipper Contest Club. So my thought was, 00:08:25.709 --> 00:08:30.470 why not take all these crowded suites and hotel 00:08:30.470 --> 00:08:35.570 lobbies and hotel hallways and jam -pack the 00:08:35.570 --> 00:08:39.080 information so that anybody could have access 00:08:39.080 --> 00:08:43.480 to it at a day -long contest university in Dayton, 00:08:43.720 --> 00:08:47.000 Ohio, and do it just before the Dayton Hamvention 00:08:47.000 --> 00:08:49.940 starts so that if you wanted to go to the Hamvention, 00:08:50.519 --> 00:08:54.879 you had one travel situation. I also presented it 00:10:08.440 --> 00:10:11.480 the first time we did it in London. But Contest 00:10:11.480 --> 00:10:14.700 University has been held in Russia, in Australia, 00:10:15.399 --> 00:10:20.700 in Brazil, in Finland, many times in Germany. 00:10:21.360 --> 00:10:24.659 And here just two months ago in Italy, which 00:10:24.659 --> 00:10:27.360 was the seventh Contest University, they have 00:10:27.360 --> 00:10:31.519 two a year. It's so popular. They had over 400 00:10:31.519 --> 00:10:36.519 people attend. That's amazing. And, and so this 00:10:36.519 --> 00:10:40.820 year, um, is sold out as, as, uh, we know. And, 00:10:40.820 --> 00:10:43.659 um, you say that's right around 300 of people, 00:10:43.879 --> 00:10:47.759 right? Yeah. Uh, it is, uh, it's pretty incredible 00:10:47.759 --> 00:10:50.440 because it's starting to tax the space that we 00:10:50.440 --> 00:10:55.659 have available and each year we have all new 00:10:55.659 --> 00:11:00.299 content.
