What I did was I said, let's take 00:09:58.480 --> 00:10:02.179 it to the next level. Let's make it contest university, 00:10:02.759 --> 00:10:06.080 and let's name it something very catchy like 00:10:06.080 --> 00:10:09.899 CTU. Some people like to say it's CU, but it's 00:10:09.899 --> 00:10:14.809 really CTU, and that's contest. And that T is 00:10:14.809 --> 00:10:20.190 capital, Contest University. And it has links 00:10:20.190 --> 00:10:24.210 back to the popular CT logging software that 00:10:24.210 --> 00:10:29.830 Kenny Wolf, K1EA, did back in the late 80s and 00:10:29.830 --> 00:10:35.409 early 90s and really revolutionized the way we 00:10:35.409 --> 00:10:40.059 log Contest. contest logging and the contest 00:10:40.059 --> 00:10:45.340 logging software. So started in 2007. You know, 00:10:45.379 --> 00:10:50.039 in 2006, Neil, I was very fortunate to be nominated 00:10:50.039 --> 00:10:53.240 and selected to be in the CQ Contest Hall of 00:10:53.240 --> 00:10:58.139 Fame. And then my commitment to the contest fraternity 00:10:58.139 --> 00:11:01.340 in amateur radio was let's take it to the next 00:11:01.340 --> 00:11:05.399 level. And so in 2007, we started Contest University. 00:11:05.720 --> 00:11:10.500 And this will be our 11th year in Dayton. Last 00:11:10.500 --> 00:11:13.759 year was our 10 -year anniversary. So every year it gets bigger 00:11:30.659 --> 00:11:34.259 and bigger and bigger. And every year it's new 00:11:34.259 --> 00:11:37.769 material. Some of the professors teach every 00:11:37.769 --> 00:11:42.870 year, like Frank Donovan, W3LPL, has taught almost 00:11:42.870 --> 00:11:48.110 every year at Contest University, and he brings 00:11:48.110 --> 00:11:51.450 a wealth of knowledge about low -band contesting, 00:11:51.750 --> 00:11:55.590 multi -up contesting, station building, team 00:11:55.590 --> 00:11:59.289 building, and this year we're very excited to 00:11:59.289 --> 00:12:04.629 have some new professors like Dan Zetlin, K2ZWE. 00:12:04.960 --> 00:12:09.539 And Dan is going to be, his focus is on beginning 00:12:09.539 --> 00:12:14.679 contesters and starting out and taking the next 00:12:14.679 --> 00:12:18.559 step.
