The buses 00:50:21.110 --> 00:50:24.309 were segregated. Black people were only allowed 00:50:24.309 --> 00:50:26.789 to sit in the rear of the bus. And when they 00:50:26.789 --> 00:50:29.170 would enter the bus, they would pay for their 00:50:29.170 --> 00:50:32.070 ticket. And then they would have to actually 00:50:32.070 --> 00:50:34.889 get out of the bus and go back to the rear entry 00:50:34.889 --> 00:50:38.809 entrance and get on the bus that way. And so 00:50:38.809 --> 00:50:43.449 just like you, Rosa Parks, this was not a controversy 00:50:43.449 --> 00:50:47.510 that happened in a moment. There was a lot of 00:50:47.510 --> 00:50:51.750 stuff that happened before then. And she had 00:50:51.750 --> 00:50:54.349 gotten on the bus, got off to go to the rear, 00:50:54.489 --> 00:50:57.190 and the bus driver just pulled away. And she's 00:50:57.190 --> 00:50:59.630 like, I'm never, this was like many, many years 00:50:59.630 --> 00:51:03.539 before that big incident. She's like, I'm never, 00:51:03.599 --> 00:51:05.500 ever going to go on that bus with this guy ever 00:51:05.500 --> 00:51:07.460 again. So she said she did a lot of walking in 00:51:07.460 --> 00:51:09.500 Montgomery, Alabama. And one day she decided, 00:51:09.519 --> 00:51:12.860 you know what, this is ridiculous. I'm getting 00:51:12.860 --> 00:51:18.719 on the bus. And the policy was if the white person's 00:51:18.719 --> 00:51:21.280 section was taken up, then they can start to 00:51:21.280 --> 00:51:24.400 encroach on the black person's section and the 00:51:24.400 --> 00:51:26.579 black people would have to stand up. It's just 00:51:26.579 --> 00:51:31.320 so wrong. It's so wrong. And she refused to get 00:51:31.320 --> 00:51:34.679 up. And that's what, that's just, it lit a spark. 00:51:34.920 --> 00:51:39.079 And I see a lot of parallels with you. You see 00:51:39.079 --> 00:51:47.519 silliness. You see bad intentions.
