Late summer morning across the 00:01:59.569 --> 00:02:02.769 United States millions of Americans went to work 00:02:02.769 --> 00:02:05.829 Parents got their kids ready for school businesses 00:02:05.829 --> 00:02:09.189 open people stood in line for coffee air travelers 00:02:09.189 --> 00:02:12.069 made their way to the airport in Newark, New 00:02:12.069 --> 00:02:15.370 Jersey There was a lot of passengers that boarded 00:02:15.370 --> 00:02:19.810 a Boeing 757 bound for San Francisco If you're 00:02:19.810 --> 00:02:21.930 not familiar whether this is United Airlines 00:02:21.930 --> 00:02:26.349 flight 93. It's a big moment You know, obviously 00:02:26.349 --> 00:02:29.930 the people getting on board did not know. But 00:02:29.930 --> 00:02:33.650 this flight number is forever remembered. The 00:02:33.650 --> 00:02:35.930 people getting on board, business people, professional 00:02:35.930 --> 00:02:38.689 students, retirees, people that were going home, 00:02:38.889 --> 00:02:41.169 people traveling for work, people starting vacation. 00:02:42.189 --> 00:02:44.909 Seven crew members on board doing their job. 00:02:45.930 --> 00:02:49.590 33 passengers boarded expecting to reach their 00:02:49.590 --> 00:02:52.830 destinations later that day. America 00:03:30.520 --> 00:03:33.780 now knew this wasn't simply an accident. For 00:03:33.780 --> 00:03:36.180 those you know that remember I was just a young 00:03:36.180 --> 00:03:38.319 man but I was at work with my dad that day and 00:03:38.319 --> 00:03:40.039 I remember they said a plane had hit the tower 00:03:40.039 --> 00:03:44.020 and so we rolled in the old tube TV you know 00:03:44.020 --> 00:03:46.159 on the cart we rolled it in we're watching the 00:03:46.159 --> 00:03:48.979 news get the antennas tuned where we can see. 00:03:49.280 --> 00:03:51.960 As we're watching this just in sheer horror. 00:03:51.960 --> 00:03:54.539 I didn't really understand it, but I'm watching 00:03:54.539 --> 00:03:56.159 this plane that hit the building I'm thinking 00:03:56.159 --> 00:03:58.120 well, it's terrible You know and then all of 00:03:58.120 --> 00:03:59.960 a sudden this plane comes out of nowhere and 00:03:59.960 --> 00:04:02.139 crashes into the next tower and people like we're 00:04:02.139 --> 00:04:05.639 under attack We're under attack and just a very 00:04:05.639 --> 00:04:12.439 scary moment American Airlines flight 77 at 937 00:04:12.439 --> 00:04:16.279 strikes the Pentagon flight 93 was still in the 00:04:16.279 --> 00:04:19.769 sky At approximately 928 a .m. hijackers aboard 00:04:19.769 --> 00:04:23.230 Flight 93 attacked. The cockpit was breached. 00:04:23.410 --> 00:04:26.930 The aircraft changed course. Instead of continuing 00:04:26.930 --> 00:04:29.930 westward San Francisco, it turned back toward 00:04:29.930 --> 00:04:34.870 Washington D .C. People in the cabin were forced 00:04:34.870 --> 00:04:37.870 with something terrifying. Because Flight 93 00:04:37.870 --> 00:04:40.430 had been delayed, something was different. Passengers 00:04:40.430 --> 00:04:43.170 and crew began making phone calls. They reached 00:04:43.170 --> 00:04:46.420 their parents, family members, operators. and 00:04:46.420 --> 00:04:49.000 those conversations they began learning what 00:04:49.000 --> 00:04:50.740 had already happened with other planes that had 00:04:50.740 --> 00:04:54.019 been hijacked. I just just want you to stop and 00:04:54.019 --> 00:04:56.259 think about this it's always easy you know to 00:04:56.259 --> 00:04:58.300 say I know what I would do in that situation 00:04:58.300 --> 00:05:01.439 but honestly and truly you never know until you're 00:05:01.439 --> 00:05:04.199 in that situation you can prepare and obviously 00:05:04.199 --> 00:05:07.420 that helps but these people on on this flight 00:05:08.219 --> 00:05:12.660 They weren't there as trained, you know, combatants 00:05:12.660 --> 00:05:16.800 or trained air marshals as we know now. These 00:05:16.800 --> 00:05:19.220 people were just your regular people and they 00:05:19.220 --> 00:05:21.699 had to make a tough decision. You know, if we 00:05:21.699 --> 00:05:25.399 do nothing, other people may die. You know a lot of times people as Travis 00:07:37.439 --> 00:07:39.220 shared his stories I've heard stories where a 00:07:39.220 --> 00:07:41.399 lot of people were on that day, and they tell 00:07:41.399 --> 00:07:44.720 their perspective of it and You know it was just 00:07:44.720 --> 00:07:47.519 a huge huge thing.
