They're 00:07:58.019 --> 00:08:00.980 honest questions. And I don't want to avoid those 00:08:00.980 --> 00:08:03.379 questions. So we're going to go straight forth 00:08:03.379 --> 00:08:06.500 them in the end of the day, kind of slowly, clearly, 00:08:06.860 --> 00:08:09.560 honestly, as much as possible. And you know, if people really want 00:08:43.639 --> 00:08:47.200 to dive deep into this, then Holy Spirit, I trust 00:08:47.200 --> 00:08:49.740 Holy Spirit is big enough to reveal the truth 00:08:49.740 --> 00:08:53.340 to them as well. So let's begin with something 00:08:53.340 --> 00:08:59.100 basic, but crucial. Jesus never said Satan was 00:08:59.100 --> 00:09:01.870 casting out Satan. And I want to address this. 00:09:01.870 --> 00:09:04.370 This is one of the conversations Holy Spirit 00:09:04.370 --> 00:09:07.190 and I had. When she asked me, she said, do you 00:09:07.190 --> 00:09:10.509 understand why Satan can be cast out of somebody? 00:09:11.350 --> 00:09:15.409 And I said, no, of course I did not. I wanted 00:09:15.409 --> 00:09:20.090 to hear what was being said because I mean, what's 00:09:20.090 --> 00:09:23.809 the answer to the question? And this is the response 00:09:23.809 --> 00:09:28.269 I got because Satan does not belong. Satan owns 00:09:28.269 --> 00:09:33.879 nobody. Satan has no creation after him So Satan 00:09:33.879 --> 00:09:37.279 can be removed because Satan does not belong 00:09:37.279 --> 00:09:40.159 Let's let's think about it this way think about 00:09:40.159 --> 00:09:43.879 your own home If someone was to come inside of 00:09:43.879 --> 00:09:48.340 your home and try to forcefully remove you They 00:09:48.340 --> 00:09:51.480 cannot do that because they do not own that home 00:09:51.659 --> 00:09:55.399 You have the right at that moment to call law 00:09:55.399 --> 00:09:58.379 enforcement or whatever to get involved and have 00:09:58.379 --> 00:10:01.679 them removed from your property because you are 00:10:01.679 --> 00:10:05.200 the one who owns that property there and they 00:10:05.200 --> 00:10:09.299 are they are intruding into your territory. And that's simply not true. Um, it says A man 00:11:53.440 --> 00:11:55.379 was brought before Jesus who had a demon spirit 00:11:55.379 --> 00:11:58.659 that made him both blind and mute. Jesus healed 00:11:58.659 --> 00:12:01.019 him instantly and he could see and talk again. 00:12:01.200 --> 00:12:03.879 Verse 23, the crowds went wild with amazement 00:12:03.879 --> 00:12:05.919 as they witnessed this miracle and they kept 00:12:05.919 --> 00:12:08.580 saying to one another could this man be the Messiah. 00:12:09.159 --> 00:12:11.500 Verse 24, but when the Pharisees overheard what 00:12:11.500 --> 00:12:14.039 the people were saying they said he cast out 00:12:14.039 --> 00:12:17.220 demons by the power of Satan the prince of demons. 00:12:17.940 --> 00:12:20.580 Jesus supernaturally perceived their thoughts 00:12:20.580 --> 00:12:23.519 and motives so he told them this parable. He's dismantling their 00:13:42.200 --> 00:13:45.299 entire premise. And this matters because if we 00:13:45.299 --> 00:13:49.100 build theology on accusations that Jesus is responding 00:13:49.100 --> 00:13:52.500 to rather than truths he is teaching, we will 00:13:52.500 --> 00:13:56.200 misread the passage. So Jesus is not affirming 00:13:56.200 --> 00:13:58.639 their worldview right now. He's exposing its 00:13:58.639 --> 00:14:02.799 flaws. He responds, if Satan cast out Satan, 00:14:02.899 --> 00:14:06.620 he is divided against himself. How can this kingdom 00:14:06.620 --> 00:14:10.289 stand? This is not Jesus establishing Satan as 00:14:10.289 --> 00:14:14.669 a rival king equal to God. This is Jesus He's 00:14:14.669 --> 00:14:19.049 using their logic to show its absurd absurdity 00:14:19.049 --> 00:14:22.250 He's saying in effect your accusation doesn't 00:14:22.250 --> 00:14:26.830 even make sense on its own terms.
