So the Jewish 00:04:55.100 --> 00:04:58.439 religious leaders, they objected and they said 00:04:58.439 --> 00:05:01.560 to the man who was cured, you can't work on the 00:05:01.560 --> 00:05:04.279 Sabbath. The law doesn't allow you to carry your 00:05:04.279 --> 00:05:06.899 sleeping mat. I mean, they took the religious 00:05:06.899 --> 00:05:10.439 law took Took it to the nth degree what work 00:05:10.439 --> 00:05:13.240 was and he wasn't even allowed to carry a mat 00:05:13.240 --> 00:05:15.620 You know, they ignored the fact that this man 00:05:15.620 --> 00:05:18.360 had been ill for 38 years and was just raised 00:05:18.360 --> 00:05:21.620 up and completely made whole No, they were worried 00:05:21.620 --> 00:05:26.360 about the rules the rules of religion and I say 00:05:26.360 --> 00:05:30.319 to you You know God does want us to obey his 00:05:30.319 --> 00:05:34.199 commands but being healed is a blessing from 00:05:34.199 --> 00:05:39.649 heaven and so They're asking who did such a man 00:05:39.649 --> 00:05:42.310 such a thing as that they demand it I mean they 00:05:42.310 --> 00:05:45.310 were not happy that this man was healed and it's 00:05:45.310 --> 00:05:47.290 not because he was healed is because it was on 00:05:47.290 --> 00:05:51.529 the Sabbath day and the man didn't know For Jesus 00:05:51.529 --> 00:05:54.250 had disappeared into the crowd. But afterwards 00:05:54.250 --> 00:05:58.310 later on Jesus found the man in the temple who 00:05:58.310 --> 00:06:02.069 was healed and told him now you are well So stop 00:06:02.069 --> 00:06:04.709 sinning or something even worse may happen to 00:06:04.709 --> 00:06:10.129 you You know, not every sickness is caused by 00:06:10.129 --> 00:06:12.129 that person's sinning because there are babies 00:06:12.129 --> 00:06:16.670 who get sick. But in this case, Jesus told the 00:06:16.670 --> 00:06:20.629 man, if you continue in sin, you will become 00:06:20.629 --> 00:06:23.649 worse than you were when I met you. In other 00:06:23.649 --> 00:06:27.089 words, turn your life around, you know, repent 00:06:27.089 --> 00:06:29.250 and move on. I mean, he had just been given a 00:06:29.250 --> 00:06:32.449 mighty miracle and obviously sin was an open 00:06:32.449 --> 00:06:36.500 door for that sickness that came upon him. So 00:06:36.500 --> 00:06:39.040 the Jewish leaders began harassing Jesus for 00:06:39.040 --> 00:06:41.120 breaking the Sabbath rules, but Jesus replied 00:06:41.120 --> 00:06:44.680 my father is always working and so am I He's 00:06:44.680 --> 00:06:47.199 talking about the Father God. So then the Jewish 00:06:47.199 --> 00:06:50.439 Leaders tried to harder to find a way to kill 00:06:50.439 --> 00:06:52.879 him for not only did he break the Sabbath But 00:06:52.879 --> 00:06:55.579 he called God his father thereby making himself 00:06:55.579 --> 00:06:59.720 equal with God and that's verse 18 So because 00:06:59.720 --> 00:07:02.980 Jesus made that comment they they took it as 00:07:02.980 --> 00:07:05.860 Jesus saying that he was equal to God because 00:07:05.860 --> 00:07:09.500 he is if he's God's son, he's the inheritor, 00:07:09.620 --> 00:07:12.360 right? So Jesus explained, I tell you the truth, 00:07:12.420 --> 00:07:14.879 the son can do nothing by himself. He does only 00:07:14.879 --> 00:07:17.759 what he says, sees the father doing whatever 00:07:17.759 --> 00:07:21.560 the father does. For just as 00:07:34.550 --> 00:07:37.329 a father gives life to those he raises from the 00:07:37.329 --> 00:07:40.769 dead, so the son gives life to anyone he wants 00:07:40.769 --> 00:07:44.670 to. In addition, the father judges no one. Instead, 00:07:44.709 --> 00:07:48.529 he has given the son, Jesus, absolute authority 00:07:48.529 --> 00:07:52.790 to judge. So everyone will honor the son just 00:07:52.790 --> 00:07:55.649 as they honor the father. Wow, Jesus is making it really 00:08:01.750 --> 00:08:05.490 clear that he is the son of God It's that's exciting 00:08:05.490 --> 00:08:08.029 But the sad part is their heart is so hardened 00:08:08.029 --> 00:08:10.910 and so hard with the rules of religion that they 00:08:10.910 --> 00:08:15.610 had created themselves Not only with what was 00:08:15.610 --> 00:08:18.250 written in the law, but they they curved up a 00:08:18.250 --> 00:08:21.649 little and made them like this Where forget about 00:08:21.649 --> 00:08:24.910 love forget about compassion? You 00:08:52.730 --> 00:08:57.429 know but in Hebrews 413 There's a scripture and 00:08:57.429 --> 00:08:59.549 it says neither is there any creature that is 00:08:59.549 --> 00:09:02.950 not manifest in God's sight, but all things lie 00:09:02.950 --> 00:09:06.830 bare naked and open before his eyes and he is 00:09:06.830 --> 00:09:09.970 the one to whom we are accountable. You know, 00:09:10.370 --> 00:09:14.250 this man had no idea that who Jesus was nor did 00:09:14.250 --> 00:09:17.710 he know that Jesus knew about a situation with 00:09:17.710 --> 00:09:20.950 Jesus knew. So the same 00:10:05.799 --> 00:10:10.080 God who cared for this man back when Jesus walked 00:10:10.080 --> 00:10:14.080 the earth is the same God today who will supply 00:10:14.080 --> 00:10:16.860 your need. Do you have a need today? Are you 00:10:16.860 --> 00:10:20.399 in need of a car? Are you in need of financial 00:10:20.399 --> 00:10:22.940 help? Are you in need of healing?
