Same book, Luke, and we're going 00:07:50.420 --> 00:07:52.360 to start in verse one and read about another 00:07:52.360 --> 00:07:55.319 one. And it came to pass as Jesus went into the 00:07:55.319 --> 00:07:57.740 house of one of the chief Pharisees to eat bread 00:07:57.740 --> 00:08:01.620 on Sabbath day, and they were watching him closely. 00:08:01.720 --> 00:08:04.639 And behold, there was a certain man that stood 00:08:04.639 --> 00:08:13.420 before him which had dropsy, which is kind of 00:08:13.420 --> 00:08:16.600 like swelling. It causes the body to swell all 00:08:16.600 --> 00:08:20.379 over. and hold fluid and Jesus said unto the 00:08:20.379 --> 00:08:22.860 lawyers and the Pharisees is it lawful to heal 00:08:22.860 --> 00:08:27.300 on the Sabbath he was saying this because he 00:08:27.300 --> 00:08:30.259 knew what their thoughts were and they held their 00:08:30.259 --> 00:08:33.059 peace and he took the man and healed him and 00:08:33.059 --> 00:08:37.299 let him go and then answered and said to them 00:08:37.299 --> 00:08:40.000 the Pharisees which of you would have a donkey 00:08:40.000 --> 00:08:44.340 or ox fall into a pit and would not quickly pull 00:08:44.340 --> 00:08:47.580 him up out of that pit on Sabbath day and they 00:08:47.580 --> 00:08:50.340 could not answer him against these things. Why? 00:08:50.360 --> 00:08:52.700 Because he was trying to show them, look you're 00:08:52.700 --> 00:08:55.940 calling this work, but yet if you saw one of 00:08:55.940 --> 00:08:58.120 your animals fall in a ditch and were hurt you 00:08:58.120 --> 00:09:00.820 would pull them out. How much more should I heal 00:09:00.820 --> 00:09:04.639 this man even though it's the Sabbath day? Healing 00:09:04.639 --> 00:09:07.799 is a blessing. Healing is a blessing. Praise 00:09:07.799 --> 00:09:11.279 God and mercy. His mercy on that person. Hallelujah. 00:09:11.899 --> 00:09:15.019 You know God is such a gracious and good God 00:09:15.019 --> 00:09:18.220 and he will always show his mercy to you. It 00:09:18.220 --> 00:09:22.100 says his mercies are new every morning, every 00:09:22.100 --> 00:09:25.600 morning. Cry out for that mercy. Thank God for 00:09:25.600 --> 00:09:28.519 his goodness and his mercy. We're going to go 00:09:28.519 --> 00:09:34.200 to Acts now, the book of Acts chapter 9. We're 00:09:34.200 --> 00:09:37.419 going to look again at another example of God's 00:09:37.419 --> 00:09:40.539 goodness and mercy and how he provides all that 00:09:40.539 --> 00:09:44.090 we need. Acts chapter 9 verse 32 it says, and 00:09:44.090 --> 00:09:46.350 it came to pass, Peter passed throughout all 00:09:46.350 --> 00:09:49.909 the quarters, he came down also to the saints 00:09:49.909 --> 00:09:53.809 which dwelt at Lydda and there he found a certain 00:09:53.809 --> 00:09:59.090 man named Aeneas and he had kept his bed eight 00:09:59.090 --> 00:10:02.070 years and was sick with palsy or was paralyzed 00:10:02.070 --> 00:10:05.610 and Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ 00:10:05.610 --> 00:10:09.730 makes you whole arise and make your bed. and 00:10:09.730 --> 00:10:15.649 he arose immediately. So what did Peter do? He 00:10:15.649 --> 00:10:20.970 spoke the word of God. He said Jesus Christ makes 00:10:20.970 --> 00:10:23.889 you whole. Why did he say that? Because before 00:10:23.889 --> 00:10:26.750 Jesus died on the cross he took 39 stripes on 00:10:26.750 --> 00:10:29.929 his back that by those stripes the word of God 00:10:29.929 --> 00:10:34.690 says we would be healed. So this man, you know, 00:10:34.710 --> 00:10:40.289 when Peter passed through the quarters He ran 00:10:40.289 --> 00:10:44.210 into this man. He found him. He didn't ask him, 00:10:44.429 --> 00:10:46.570 how long have you been sinning? He didn't ask 00:10:46.570 --> 00:10:50.289 him, was he saved? He just showed the mercy of 00:10:50.289 --> 00:10:53.889 God. He extended the life of God to this man 00:10:53.889 --> 00:10:57.230 that Peter had received, the power of God on 00:10:57.230 --> 00:11:00.830 the day of Pentecost. And he said, arise, make 00:11:00.830 --> 00:11:03.610 your bed. And he arose. The man had to do it. 00:11:04.190 --> 00:11:07.490 He had to stand up and do it. There's always 00:11:07.490 --> 00:11:11.039 an action when our faith's involved. and all 00:11:11.039 --> 00:11:15.000 that dwelt at Lydda, this is verse 35, and Saran 00:11:15.000 --> 00:11:19.259 saw him and turned to the Lord. This one miracle 00:11:19.259 --> 00:11:23.700 caused all of that area to turn to the Lord. 00:11:24.220 --> 00:11:26.720 Praise God, why? Because it was a sign and a 00:11:26.720 --> 00:11:31.940 wonder miraculous from God through man. God, 00:11:31.980 --> 00:11:34.620 we are his hands and his feet on the earth. Now there 00:11:49.970 --> 00:11:53.149 was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha 00:11:53.149 --> 00:11:56.250 which by interpretation is called Dorcas and 00:11:56.250 --> 00:11:58.830 this woman was full of good works and did alms 00:11:58.830 --> 00:12:02.590 which she did and it came to pass in those days 00:12:02.590 --> 00:12:06.250 she was sick and she died. whom when they had 00:12:06.250 --> 00:12:08.889 washed and laid her in the upper chamber for 00:12:08.889 --> 00:12:12.509 as much as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, the disciples 00:12:12.509 --> 00:12:14.570 had heard that Peter was there and they sent 00:12:14.570 --> 00:12:17.649 him two men desiring that he would not delay 00:12:17.649 --> 00:12:21.230 but come to them. So he put 00:13:08.580 --> 00:13:10.840 them all out because they're crying thinking 00:13:10.840 --> 00:13:14.000 she's never coming back and he wanted just the 00:13:14.000 --> 00:13:16.879 room to be full of faith I believe and he knelt 00:13:16.879 --> 00:13:19.240 down and he prayed and then he turned to the 00:13:19.240 --> 00:13:23.419 body and he said Tabitha arise. Now how could 00:13:23.419 --> 00:13:25.840 he do that? Because the power of God was within 00:13:25.840 --> 00:13:30.169 him. and he knew it and then he gave her his 00:13:30.169 --> 00:13:32.730 hand and lifted her up and when he called the 00:13:32.730 --> 00:13:36.610 saints and the widows presented her alive wow 00:13:36.610 --> 00:13:40.789 what a huge miracle do you mean christ the power 00:13:40.789 --> 00:13:44.830 of god can raise the dead absolutely here's the 00:13:44.830 --> 00:13:48.610 perfect example it says and it was known throughout 00:13:48.610 --> 00:13:54.100 all of choppa and many believed on the lord You 00:13:54.100 --> 00:13:56.820 know, it's interesting that we just read in Litta 00:13:56.820 --> 00:14:00.820 that when that man was healed from eight years 00:14:00.820 --> 00:14:05.179 of being paralyzed, it said all who dwelt in 00:14:05.179 --> 00:14:09.440 that area turned to the Lord. But yet with this 00:14:09.440 --> 00:14:12.860 miracle and this woman being raised from the 00:14:12.860 --> 00:14:17.360 dead, it says many believed in the Lord.
