I saw this movie in theaters and have watched it with my parents, my friends, and now my own children. It's also a movie my husband and I love to watch together because it's one of our favorites.

Let's talk cast—this film is stacked: Kiefer Sutherland, Charlie Sheen, Oliver Platt, Chris O'Donnell, Tim Curry, and Rebecca De Mornay. Disney's casting director knocked it out of the park. Sutherland plays Athos, Platt is Porthos, and Sheen is Aramis. Their chemistry on screen is incredible. Their timing, delivery, and camaraderie really bring the Musketeers to life.

This movie is based on the book by Alexandre Dumas, and yes, there have been other versions—but this is the one I grew up with and love. Gabrielle Anwar plays Queen Anne, and you might remember her from Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken. The Musketeers have been disbanded, but Athos, Porthos, and Aramis refuse to give up their roles. Chris O'Donnell plays D'Artagnan, a young man eager to follow in his father's footsteps and join their ranks.

This movie has it all—fencing, horsemanship, battle scenes, and action sequences. And the best part? None of it is computer generated. The action feels real, which makes it so much more enjoyable. Even the costumes are a highlight. The attention to detail in the Musketeers' uniforms, the cardinal's guards, and the royal gowns is outstanding.

The story reinforces loyalty, friendship, and sacrifice—core Musketeer values. Their mission isn't just to protect the king, but also each other. And yes, there's romance too—this is a Disney film after all. But it's not overdone. It balances out the action with just enough heart.
