When opportunity knocks—answer the door. Not every knock is real. Some are distractions, some are temptations, some are “too good to be true.” But every once in a while, life, God, or the universe will place something at your doorstep that is meant for you. And the question is—will you answer? Or will you let fear, doubt, or guilt keep you frozen? Let me share something with you. I’ve dreamed, for as long as I can remember, of traveling to four particular countries. As a younger person, I couldn’t afford it. The dream was alive, but the reality wasn’t possible yet. I told myself, “One day, when I’m able, I’ll go.” Fast forward to now. I’m in my late 50s, and finally—thank God—I can afford it. I was ready. Bags could be packed; the heart was willing. But the timing wasn’t. Two of those countries are in turmoil, unsafe to visit. The doors I’d been waiting on for decades were suddenly shut. And that hurt. It felt like life had played a trick on me. But then, something happened. Out of nowhere, someone I love offered me a gift: “Let me cover your ticket to a country you’ve never even thought about.” And not just that — “Bring someone with you. Bring someone you trust.” Do you know what my first response was? I said no. I said no because I felt guilty. Because I thought, “This is their hard work, not mine. How could I accept?” But as I sat with it, I realized—this was opportunity knocking. This was the universe saying, “You’ve waited long enough. Maybe it won’t be the countries you expected, but you’re going somewhere. You’re meant to move, not stand still.” So, I said yes. And in that moment, I understood something deeply: what is meant for you will never pass you by. The form might change, the timing might surprise you, but if it’s meant for you, it will find its way to your life. And that’s what I want you to hear today. Opportunities don’t always look like what we expect. Sometimes they come disguised. Sometimes they come through other people. Sometimes they arrive when you’ve almost given up hope. And sometimes they don’t look as shiny as the dream you pictured—but they are no less real, no less important. The danger is this: we let fear, self-doubt, or guilt block us. We say, “I don’t deserve this.” We say, “It’s too late.” We say, “Maybe another time.” But here’s the truth—life doesn’t always knock twice. And when the right door opens, you have to have the courage to walk through it. Think about it: how many times have you felt the nudge to do something new, to say yes, to take a risk… but you froze? How many times did you look back later and think, “I should’ve said yes”? Now, I’m not saying jump at every single thing. Use discernment. If something is “too good to be true,” it probably is. But when you feel that alignment—when your spirit knows it’s real—that’s your sign. That’s when you trust. Because here’s the bigger truth: the universe has its own timing. God has His plan. You might want it at 30, but you’re given it at 50. You might want it in Paris, but you’re sent to Portugal. You might picture it one way, but it arrives another. And if you cling too tightly to your picture, you’ll miss the blessing that’s right in front of you. So, my message today is simple: when opportunity knocks, answer the door. Don’t let fear or guilt stop you. Don’t let your old story hold you back. If the door opens, walk through it. Because there’s a reason it opened when it did. There’s a reason the timing didn’t line up before. And there’s a reason this blessing, right now, has your name on it. Everything happens for a reason. Every delay has a purpose. Every “not yet” is protection. And when the timing is right, when the opportunity is real, it will find you. What’s meant for you will never, ever pass you by. So today, I want to challenge you: the next time opportunity knocks, don’t hesitate. Don’t second-guess. Open the door. Say yes. Step into it. Because life is too short to wait for the perfect picture—you were made to live the blessing that’s in front of you. Remember this: when opportunity knocks, answer. Because what’s meant for you will never pass you by. Please like and subscribe if you enjoy my words of wisdom. I love you all so much. God Bless.
