TRANSCRIPT If God Loves Us, Why Is There So Much Suffering In The World? Part 2 A Sermon By Elise Beatrice - Thursday, June 27, 2025 Holy Father, thank You. Your perfect will be done. “Our Father who is in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For the Kingdom, the Glory, and the Power are Yours. Now and Forever. Amen. Matthew 5:43-48, 43 “You have heard the law that says, ‘Love your neighbor’ and hate your enemy. 44 But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! 45 In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in Heaven. For He gives His sunlight to both the evil and the good, and He sends rain on the just and the unjust alike. 46 If you love only those who love you, what reward is there for that? Even corrupt tax collectors do that much. 47 If you are kind only to your friends, how are you different from anyone else? Even pagans do that. 48 But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in Heaven is perfect.” The Lord also pointed to me Matthew 5:7, which is, “Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy, for they will be shown mercy." Loving our enemies instead of hating them for the evil they do to us is being merciful to them. God is merciful. God’s love is manifested in His grace and mercy, and His forgiveness, and His beautiful sacrifice. He died on the cross for us to save us from something we brought upon ourselves. It was us who sinned, not Him, yet He died on the cross to save us from those sins, when we accept Him and let Him truly save us. That is grace, that is mercy. He loved us, and He showed it. If the Lord weighed our sins on a scale, He would destroy us all. Just like today, in this broken world, if God did not have mercy on humanity, He would destroy already all the evildoers, everyone responsible for the sufferings of this earth; all the rebellious, now, not later. But at least God shows mercy by giving us time to repent of our sins. Because if the Lord has to punish each one as soon as they sin, and has to destroy them as soon as they sin, many will be destroyed daily, and the earth will be almost totally empty, and all of those people will go to hell. But God’s mercy gives us time to come to realise we have done something wrong. If God has to destroy many who are causing evil on this earth through corruption and deception, they will all perish; they will die fast and go to hell. His mercy allows us to live and even come to repentance. The reason why The End has not come is because the Gospel must be preached all over the earth. Since God will judge everyone by this Book: The Holy Bible, by His words, the Words He has spoken, and His Son, Jesus, has spoken, it is only fair that everyone should know about these words. So, as it stands now, there are still some people in most places on the earth who have not yet heard of the beautiful Gospel of salvation. God won’t let them die in their sins, because that would be unfair on them to have never heard of the Gospel, then go to hell. That is why God always ensures that everyone on this earth hears about the Gospel. As for whether they will welcome it and accept the Lord Jesus when they hear it, that is entirely their choice. But God does this merciful job and still spares even the evildoers until they hear the Gospel. Because if God has to destroy all the evil ones now, even those who would have repented in five years or ten years from now, they will be destroyed and also go to hell. So, God is a God of Love and a God of mercy, and when some people say, “If God loves us, why is there so much suffering in the world? If God is love, why is there so much suffering in the world?" We must understand that sin causes suffering, not God’s love. We’re reading a passage here, saying, “You have heard it say, ‘Love Your neighbour and hate your enemy.’ But I say, “Love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you!” ‘So, don’t just love your neighbour who shows you mercy; don’t just love your neighbour who loves you. Love also your enemy who hates you, who does not show you mercy. If you only love those who love you, what kind of reward is that?’ It is easy to love those who love you, but it is not easy to love those who hate you. But if you manage to do it, then your reward is greater. Loving our enemy does not mean that we team up with them in their crime; it does not mean that we associate with them and seek to have a relationship with them in their evil; it practically means we pray for them and show them mercy, instead of us hating them back. For the Lord says, ‘Pray even for those who persecute you.’ If someone hurts you, don’t hurt them back; bless them by praying to God so that God will bless them. God might even open their eyes to see. That is how some people, even some axe murderers, have ended up repenting of their sins because of those who have prayed for them and cared about them, and loved them instead of hating them. So many people who don’t even believe in God come to repentance eventually and find God, because somehow, somewhere, someone loved them by praying for them. The Scriptures say in James 5:16, “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” So He’s telling us to be like Him. “Love your enemy.” ‘So be like Me.’ God loves those who love Him, but He also loves His human enemies. But He does not hang around with them; He is not with them because of their practice of sin, which He hates. Everyone who does not renounce evil before physical death takes them from this world will be punished by God. So the Lord Jesus is saying, ‘If you are to be my followers, if you are to be my disciples, if you are to be my sheep, love like I do, love even your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.’ And we’re seeing all over the earth many who are hurting each other daily, hurting others, hurting even those who did nothing wrong to them; they are bitter people, abusing people, bullying people. But the Lord is telling us this, ‘If you are mine, don’t team up with those people and live in the same way they do. But instead, show that you are my child, a child of God, by forgiving them and showing them mercy by not letting the evil they have inflicted on you back on them.’ If someone comes and smacks you on the face, do you go and smack them back? That will be revenge, taking the matter into your own hands and doing exactly to them what they did to you. However, if somebody smacks you on the face, and you show the other side, you turn the other cheek, then that is you stopping evil from progressing. You could fight with him, and someone might end up dead; that smack may lead to severe consequences, but by turning the other cheek, you are preventing any evil from going further. It is not because you’re weak, or because you don’t know how to smack them, it’s because you are listening to The One who showed mercy even to His enemies. You are listening to God, who provides His sunlight, food and rain even to evil people, just as He does for the good people. When Father says, “Vengeance is Mine,” He means, ‘Do not avenge, leave vengeance to Me, I will repay, I’m God. I created all of you; you have no right to kill someone else.’ The same way the devil has turned those people into murderers, he also wants to turn you into a murderer. But Christ does not turn people into murderers or into any type of sinners; He turns them into righteous people, into those who care for people, those who have love and compassion for others. That is who Christ is. And if we are indeed His children, we should follow His ways. It is very easy to do evil, but it is not easy to do good. So we challenge ourselves to do what is good, because that is what is indeed remarkable. It’s a beautiful thing to do good things. So, many are out there spreading the evilness of satan by listening to him, by doing what is evil, by doing what opposes Christ, who is the Saviour of the world, who demonstrated it on the Cross. Have we ever seen or heard of satan dying for anyone? Have we ever seen or heard of any false gods dying for anyone? No. They did not create humans to die for them. They did not love them nor care for them to die for them. They just use them for their evil gain. But the Lord Jesus Christ died for all humans, for He created them all, and loved them all, and will always love them all. So when people are saying, “If God loves us, why is there so much suffering?” We must understand it is not God bringing that suffering. Suffering is there because of disobedience to the same very God who saves people from sin. Everyone wants to do their own way, pollute their minds with the teachings of demons, which always oppose God. I mean, in this battle between good and evil, you actually set yourself out to fight against the good, to fight against God, against Christ, who is the Hero and the Saviour of the world, while indeed you are promoting satan, who is the villain, the one who’s damaging people and causing all humans to sin. And sin is the reason why many suffer. Even someone who no longer practises sin is still hurt by someone who still practises sin. Because that is the world we live in, with billions of people who are practicing evil. “47 So if you are kind only to your friends, how are you different from anyone else? Even pagans do that. 48 But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in Heaven is perfect.” We are humans, and we have lots of imperfections, but by being in the Lord and listening to Him daily, by striving to do what He says, God declares us blameless. And if we are blameless in God’s eyes, that is already perfection in God’s eyes, because, according to the standard of humans, someone who is found blameless in God’s eyes is nearly perfect. Christ is the perfection, God is the perfection, but God finds some humans righteous, godly, and even holy and blameless. We can never be perfect like God, and fully righteous like Christ and fully Holy like God and His Son Jesus, but we can be found blameless in God’s eyes. So, “God blesses those who are merciful, for they will be shown mercy.” This is an illustration to help us understand in depth: God’s Channels Vs. satan’s Channels We are like walking channels, and every human was put here on this earth by God. There is not a single human who has come to be by themselves without the intervention of God. If we look at the television channels, we’re going to see that everyone behind those television channels is a human. The television itself cannot speak without a human. Through those television channels, we watch many things, some good and some evil. We humans are perceiving from those channels what has been brought to us by other humans. Suppose the humans, using television channels to make something available to all other humans in the world, are the messengers of the One True God, of the Lord Jesus Christ, God’s channels, since they are also human channels, walking channels, unlike television channels. In that case, the whole world is nourished with good things, great blessings from God. However, suppose the humans, using television channels to make something available to all other humans in the world, are the messengers of satan, evil spirits, satan’s channels, since they are also human channels. In that case, the whole world is fed with evil things, demonic things from satan, which damage souls, deceive humans, who are unaware of this, corrupt them, make them ruthless and keep them far away from their eternal salvation, the Lord Jesus Christ. No one in the darkness is divinely happy nor fulfilled. How can anyone be truly happy and fulfilled with the happiness and fulfilment that come from being in the Lord of Christ and saved from sin, when they still live in the darkness, which is cheer ugliness, and while they still practise sin? When we look at humans, they are all channels - even more than television channels; they are walking channels. Among humans are God’s channels. And also satan’s channels. We are in the battle between good and evil; we are bound to be either God’s channels or satan’s channels when we are not listening to God. Everything that came to be in this physical world began in the spiritual realm; there are evil beings: satan and demons, and we have God and His angels in Heaven. God, the Author of good things, as well as doing good things all by Himself and directly, He also uses humans as His channels through which He saves people. So when we’re watching humans, we see their mouths, hear their voices. They are walking and talking channels for the Lord. What God gives them, they speak it, and those who hear it are blessed. God shows us things and we show them to people, and those who watch them, believe them and put them into practice, are blessed, are built up, are edified, they are rescued from sin, and seek to understand that we are in a world full of corruption, and many avoid such things because of the truth that God showed through His channels. However, many humans have also become satan and demons’ channels knowingly or unknowingly. The Lord Jesus uses His human channels to spread good for the sake of all people, and satan uses his human channels to spread his evil, intending to deceive and damage all humans with sin to get back at the Lord God. And though he knows he will never prevail over the Lord Jesus Christ, he at least wants to ruin as many humans as he can so that he does perish alone in the eternal, burning fire of hell. This is the nature of this life, the fact of this life, the truth of this life. God is a relational God; He wants to do things with us. That’s why He uses many for His righteous purpose. And we pray for God to use us as His channels for good. However, many practice evil, and they love it. For this, satan uses them as his channels, evil channels for evil. So when people say, “If God loves us, why is there so much evil? If God is Love, why is there so much evil in the world?” Because billions of humans have rebelled against the Lord God, allowing their bodies to become evil channels for satan and demons who then continuously use them to inflict pain and suffering on this earth and on humans, whom God created. Satan is the cause of all suffering and evil, not God and not God’s love. Therefore, by teaming up with satan, by disobeying the Lord’s moral ways, the Lord’s righteous ways, and rejecting the only Saviour of the world, the Lord Jesus Christ, they have pledged their allegiance to satan, not necessarily by words, but by embracing his sins, deeds of darkness, and living that way for their gain, knowingly or unknowingly, far away from the One True God, the Lord Jesus Christ.” Even the one who doesn’t practice sin is hurt by the one who practises sin due to living in a world full of sin with billions of people opposing The One who saves humanity from sin. God loves everybody, but not everybody listens to Him. As for those who listen to Him, He uses them as His channels to bless many and rescue those who want to be rescued from the darkness. Those who walk in the Light no longer walk in the darkness. The Lord Jesus says in John 12:46-47, “I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in Me will no longer remain in the dark. “If anyone hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge that person. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world” Please note, what the Lord Jesus means here is, “He does not judge that person ‘now’ because He did come ‘for the first time’ on this earth to judge the world, but to save the world from darkness and sins. He did it on the Cross for those who receive it and live by His words. However, when He comes again, at His Second Coming, He comes to judge the earth, which He will begin with satan and his demons and false prophets. In truth, the Lord continues in verse 48, saying, “There is a judge for the one who rejects Me and does not receive My words: the very words I have spoken will condemn them at the last day.” The Lord said in John 3:19, “This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of Light because their deeds were evil.” The Scriptures say that our bodies are the temples of God’s Holy Spirit. This is when a believer obeys the Lord Jesus and welcomes His Holy Spirit, who helps us to produce good fruit. For the fruit of the Holy Spirit is love, joy, peace, kindness, patience, faithfulness, goodness, gentleness, sound mind, which is also translated as self-control. And the opposite of that is the fruit of evil spirits and their master, satan. So now what happens when billions of people oppose God, rebel against Him, refuse godliness and righteousness, though God created them, too? Their bodies are not the temples of the Holy Spirit, but become the houses of evil spirits, who produce only evil fruit in humans, nonbelievers, and even believers who don’t listen to God, and also believers of false gods. And so, the world is polluted by sin, with billions of humans practising sin daily, hurting billions of people knowingly or unknowingly. For every sin committed hurts over a hundred people daily. Disobedience to the Lord Jesus Christ hurts people. So, we are either the Lord’s Jesus’ channels or satan’s channels. Let us not let our bodies become satan’s channels through which he damages humanity, but Jesus’s channels through which He fixes humanity. In this world, are we here to contribute to evil, to the suffering of mankind, to contribute to their pain, to them crying before going to sleep? Are we here to contribute to the deeds of darkness, to what demons and satan do, which are all evil; their corruption and deceptions? Or are we here to let God use us for good, use us to love His creation, to tend His flock, to rescue those who suffer, to rescue those who are lost? I just pray that you will make wise decisions and choose God, choose the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the Saviour of the world, who died on the Cross, even for you, not because we deserve it, but because of His grace and mercy and His beauty, because of His love for us; undying love for us. May His peace be with you as you make your wise decisions. Lord Jesus, thank You so much for this sermon and this inspiration. You are still reaching out to speak to us today and using whoever lets You, whoever listens to You. You are the Good One, Lord. Thank You, Lord, for building Your people. Thank You for making us channels that build people up, channels that revive people, channels that open the eyes of people to see, channels that rescue people from the darkness and rescue their souls, a channel, Lord, Your channels, God’s channels. Let Your channels fill up the earth, Lord, for good will always prevail, and the Hero will always prevail, even if at times it may seem like the villain is getting somewhere. The Hero will surprise the villain, who is thinking that he is getting somewhere, when he least expects it. And the victory will always belong to the Hero, the righteous Hero, the moral Hero, the just Hero, the glorious Hero, the victorious Hero, You, Lord Jesus, You Father God and Your Holy Spirit. Thank You, Father, for Your Love for us all. I pray people will begin to understand that if they’re suffering and are innocent, You are always with them. But if they’re suffering because of their sins, You are not with them, and they need to let go of darkness; they need to stop contributing to darkness for what they want, and let You in so that You can rescue them from that darkness and from their sins. And even if we’re suffering for good, for the cause of good, then that is good suffering, and good suffering is healthy, even if we’re feeling the pain. Thank You so much, Lord, for being good forever. Without You, this world will just be evil in every place forever. But with You, Lord Jesus, the devil stands no chance. Darkness will be defeated forever, it will be gone forever, and Your Light will take over and dominate all places on the earth. Your will be done, Lord, on earth as it is in Heaven, in Your Holy Name, Lord Jesus, we pray. Amen.
