That the enemy of 00:08:59.710 --> 00:09:05.759 God, has decided that he is going to ascend to 00:09:05.759 --> 00:09:09.460 the throne of God. And in ascending to the throne 00:09:09.460 --> 00:09:13.879 of God, he is going to gain the right to be the 00:09:13.879 --> 00:09:17.220 supreme being. And you thought Marvel just came 00:09:17.220 --> 00:09:21.620 up with this, right? And so what happens is the 00:09:21.620 --> 00:09:23.679 enemy of God, who might not look like you think 00:09:23.679 --> 00:09:26.899 he does, like the Bible talks about how beautiful 00:09:26.899 --> 00:09:29.559 the enemy of God is because he was created perfect 00:09:29.559 --> 00:09:33.899 by God. And here's what happens. The enemy of 00:09:33.899 --> 00:09:39.039 God rallies together others, created beings, 00:09:39.259 --> 00:09:43.639 to ascend to, to become the supreme being. The 00:09:43.639 --> 00:09:47.679 only problem is the enemy of God is lacking power. 00:09:48.740 --> 00:09:51.100 The enemy of God does not have the ability. And 00:09:51.100 --> 00:09:53.000 so there's two words today that we're going to 00:09:53.000 --> 00:09:59.860 kind of unpack. One is the authority and the 00:09:59.860 --> 00:10:06.690 other is. And what happens is God shows that 00:10:06.690 --> 00:10:12.429 he has the right as creator to essentially stop 00:10:12.429 --> 00:10:15.909 the rebellion. In fact, not only does he stop 00:10:15.909 --> 00:10:20.450 the rebellion, but he kicks out of the cosmic 00:10:20.450 --> 00:10:23.570 realm. And when we say cosmic, this is like our 00:10:23.570 --> 00:10:28.029 universe and beyond. This is like the known everything 00:10:28.029 --> 00:10:32.899 that God is inside of. And so this battle is 00:10:32.899 --> 00:10:36.179 playing out in that sense. And as the battle 00:10:36.179 --> 00:10:39.240 plays out and they ascend to take, they discover 00:10:39.240 --> 00:10:42.000 we don't have the power to do what we want to 00:10:42.000 --> 00:10:44.700 do. We don't have the ability to take the authority 00:10:44.700 --> 00:10:48.600 that we think we deserve. And God crushes the 00:10:48.600 --> 00:10:50.360 enemy. Jesus returned to Galilee 00:11:38.649 --> 00:11:42.669 in the power. Jesus returned to Galilee in the 00:11:42.669 --> 00:11:48.350 power of the Spirit. And the news spread about 00:11:48.350 --> 00:11:52.279 him through the whole countryside. teaching in 00:11:52.279 --> 00:11:55.580 their synagogues, and everyone praised him. Why? Because power 00:13:04.139 --> 00:13:05.919 is coming in the form of the Holy Spirit. That 00:13:05.919 --> 00:13:08.600 word power is the same word of power that's used 00:13:08.600 --> 00:13:11.539 here. What is God getting at? That God has put 00:13:11.539 --> 00:13:15.409 into you the very spirit that was in Jesus. It 00:13:15.409 --> 00:13:17.850 exists in you as a follower of Jesus today. If 00:13:17.850 --> 00:13:19.529 you're not a follower of Jesus, then the Holy 00:13:19.529 --> 00:13:23.190 Spirit doesn't indwell you. Right? But as a follower 00:13:23.190 --> 00:13:25.809 of Jesus, it's really important that we understand 00:13:25.809 --> 00:13:28.789 the power that we've been given. So he carries 00:13:28.789 --> 00:13:30.470 on. He goes to his hometown. And when he gets 00:13:30.470 --> 00:13:32.350 to his hometown, he's going to read a scroll 00:13:32.350 --> 00:13:36.169 in verse 18 in the synagogue. The Spirit of the 00:13:36.169 --> 00:13:39.629 Lord is on me, he says.
