And both of them had to do with cancer 00:05:35.259 --> 00:05:38.220 and healing. And both of them this morning talked 00:05:38.220 --> 00:05:40.139 about and last night talked about that God has 00:05:40.139 --> 00:05:45.250 showed up and has healed what was sick. This 00:05:45.250 --> 00:05:50.050 is why you being plugged into the resources of 00:05:50.050 --> 00:05:51.730 heaven is so important, and the way that it is 00:05:51.730 --> 00:05:54.790 released is through prayer. So Jesus says you're 00:05:54.790 --> 00:05:58.670 going to pray specifically, right? Now that brings 00:05:58.670 --> 00:06:00.990 us to today. Have you ever been in a situation 00:06:00.990 --> 00:06:06.790 where you might have been the person that had 00:06:06.790 --> 00:06:10.449 the means to help somebody else, and they knew 00:06:10.449 --> 00:06:12.889 that you had the means to help them? Often this 00:06:12.889 --> 00:06:16.259 happens when you travel. For me, I got to go 00:06:16.259 --> 00:06:21.019 to Kenya a bunch of years ago. And so we got to go to these areas, these 00:06:31.279 --> 00:06:34.800 different slums, and one of them was massive. 00:06:35.439 --> 00:06:38.300 It was so large, it just sprawled and sprawled 00:06:38.300 --> 00:06:41.399 and sprawled. And 00:07:06.769 --> 00:07:10.569 by slum, I mean like... There's human waste on 00:07:10.569 --> 00:07:13.110 the path. It wasn't a street. We're talking a 00:07:13.110 --> 00:07:16.389 narrow path between houses and human waste on 00:07:16.389 --> 00:07:21.329 the ground. There's these shacks that barely 00:07:21.329 --> 00:07:25.350 holding together. And you can go back and kind of 00:08:36.220 --> 00:08:38.679 hear the frame up to this, but this is his response 00:08:38.679 --> 00:08:41.080 to how to pray. This then is how you should pray. 00:08:41.159 --> 00:08:43.200 Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, 00:08:43.279 --> 00:08:45.960 right? And forgive us our debts as we 00:10:14.429 --> 00:10:17.470 also have forgiven our debtors. Anyone that you've 00:10:17.470 --> 00:10:19.710 ever had to walk the path of forgiveness, you 00:10:19.710 --> 00:10:22.389 know how large forgiveness is, right? Like this 00:10:22.389 --> 00:10:27.889 idea goes from the big purpose mission of what 00:10:27.889 --> 00:10:30.950 God always intended to, hey, would you give us 00:10:30.950 --> 00:10:34.559 what we need back up to... And then the very next thing he says is 00:10:48.639 --> 00:10:50.840 this. This is how you should pray. And lead us 00:10:50.840 --> 00:10:53.440 not into temptation, but deliver us from the 00:10:53.440 --> 00:10:55.659 evil one. Now we're into the cosmic battle of 00:10:55.659 --> 00:10:58.500 the universe between God and his enemy. Like, 00:10:58.519 --> 00:11:01.860 would you protect? So you have in the same prayer. 00:11:02.590 --> 00:11:06.690 You have the big vastness of God, right? Like 00:11:06.690 --> 00:11:09.370 you're the name above all other names. The earth would be shaped by the 00:11:15.009 --> 00:11:16.990 kingdom of God. One of the hardest things to do, if we're 00:11:31.389 --> 00:11:33.129 honest, being human, forgive another person, 00:11:33.190 --> 00:11:36.110 right? And yet the God of the universe has forgiven 00:11:36.110 --> 00:11:38.629 us. And so out of that, and then you have this 00:11:38.629 --> 00:11:42.809 cosmic battle. You have the hinge point of this 00:11:42.809 --> 00:11:50.419 prayer is found in the dirt of today. This is 00:11:50.419 --> 00:11:53.940 Jesus teaching us how to pray. And he goes, hey, 00:11:54.000 --> 00:11:56.419 your mission and purpose is God's pulling you 00:11:56.419 --> 00:11:58.899 back. You've got so much purpose to your life. 00:11:59.019 --> 00:12:00.919 You matter so much because you're shaping the 00:12:00.919 --> 00:12:07.120 kingdom of God. And you also give us today our 00:12:07.120 --> 00:12:11.299 daily bread. It's a daily bread kind of prayer. 00:12:11.860 --> 00:12:14.000 You know what I love about daily bread kind of 00:12:14.000 --> 00:12:19.539 prayer? Is daily bread. renounces the idea that 00:12:19.539 --> 00:12:22.779 God is distant. Here's what I mean, right? God doesn't really have time 00:12:35.519 --> 00:12:38.860 to worry about if your football swag matches 00:12:38.860 --> 00:12:42.480 or not. God doesn't have time to worry about 00:12:42.480 --> 00:12:45.870 if you got that parking space. God doesn't have 00:12:45.870 --> 00:12:49.509 time to worry about your eyebrows. God's got 00:12:49.509 --> 00:12:51.549 other things he's doing. And if we're not careful, 00:12:51.690 --> 00:12:55.629 we can make God distant. God's out there. And what I think Jesus is doing with this, 00:13:43.279 --> 00:13:45.259 there's something much greater going on with 00:13:45.259 --> 00:13:47.519 the daily bread prayer. Because daily bread prayers, 00:13:47.559 --> 00:13:49.419 think about them, right? Like the idea of daily 00:13:49.419 --> 00:13:52.820 bread. What do you need today to live the life 00:13:52.820 --> 00:13:55.919 that God gave you? Like what is it in your life 00:13:55.919 --> 00:13:58.500 that you go, hey, this is a need today.
