It's one that we 00:02:17.599 --> 00:02:19.460 wanna listen to, we wanna lean into, but there's 00:02:19.460 --> 00:02:23.340 something about last words, especially when they 00:02:23.340 --> 00:02:25.439 come from somebody who is being crucified because 00:02:25.439 --> 00:02:28.120 crucifixion takes your breath away. His trust was in God because death and 00:06:44.670 --> 00:06:47.560 the cross, They didn't win. Death was just a 00:06:47.560 --> 00:06:51.139 gateway to God. For all it was for him was a 00:06:51.139 --> 00:06:52.980 gateway to God. See, some of us, we live our 00:06:52.980 --> 00:06:55.439 life in so much fear of death. You are gripped 00:06:55.439 --> 00:06:57.560 with fear of dying when you need to understand 00:06:57.560 --> 00:06:59.720 death is not the end. Death is a gateway to God. 00:07:01.100 --> 00:07:04.279 Jesus understood this is a gateway to God. And 00:07:04.279 --> 00:07:08.740 he's saying, my trust is in him. See, when we're 00:07:08.740 --> 00:07:10.339 going through it and we're going through the 00:07:10.339 --> 00:07:11.740 difficulty, when we're going through whatever 00:07:11.740 --> 00:07:13.959 it is in our life, there's no greater peace. 00:07:14.540 --> 00:07:17.600 than knowing that we are in God's hands. I'm placing it in your hands. And so they knew 00:08:23.220 --> 00:08:24.779 that they were walking into something that could 00:08:24.779 --> 00:08:27.259 be a little intimidating and strange for this 00:08:27.259 --> 00:08:31.620 community and these rural people groups. I'm suffering according to God's will. They went around 00:09:36.500 --> 00:09:38.139 and they were teaching people about Jesus. They're 00:09:38.139 --> 00:09:39.840 going, hey, you gotta know about this Jesus guy. 00:09:39.940 --> 00:09:41.860 He's doing incredible things. And he started 00:09:41.860 --> 00:09:43.740 rubbing against the culture of what was happening 00:09:43.740 --> 00:09:45.559 in the day. And so there was someone who owned 00:09:45.559 --> 00:09:47.720 this slave girl that was possessed by demons. 00:09:47.820 --> 00:09:51.279 And so she was able to tell the future for people. 00:09:51.419 --> 00:09:53.220 And so he was capitalizing on the money that 00:09:53.220 --> 00:09:54.899 he was making from her telling the future. And 00:09:54.899 --> 00:09:56.620 so Paul and Silas show up and they cast this 00:09:56.620 --> 00:09:58.220 demon out of her. And they're like, no, we wanna 00:09:58.220 --> 00:10:00.000 tell you about Jesus. This is where true life 00:10:00.000 --> 00:10:02.220 is. And her life was changed. Well, now that 00:10:02.220 --> 00:10:04.720 made the owner of this slave girl pretty upset. 00:10:05.480 --> 00:10:07.519 And so they threw them in jail. And so Paul and 00:10:07.519 --> 00:10:09.259 Silas find themselves in jail. They find themselves 00:10:09.259 --> 00:10:11.159 in this situation that nobody wants to be in. 00:10:11.159 --> 00:10:13.100 And you know what they do? They have a worship 00:10:13.100 --> 00:10:15.759 night in jail. They're like, hey, you play guitar, 00:10:15.840 --> 00:10:17.259 you play drums.
