Hi there, and welcome to Notes from the Stage. I'm Adam Zinatelli. Usually I'm playing first trumpet in the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, but on this show I'm going to be having conversations with my colleagues about music, the musician's life, and what's going on in Calgary's classical music scene. We're all members of the CPO, but we've all got a whole lot going on on top of that. This show isn't speaking for the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra. In fact, it's a 100% independent production of the musicians of the orchestra, or the Calgary Philharmonic Players Association, to sound very official. Our goal here is that these conversations are for everyone. While we might occasionally delve into some of the real intricacies of what we do, the intention is that whether you're a professional musician, a student, an appreciator of classical music, or simply someone who's curious about the whole thing, you'll understand what we're getting at and hopefully learn something interesting. You'll certainly get to know the people you can see on stage every week of the orchestra season here in Calgary. The wide range of personalities, interests, and experiences that make up the orchestra are exactly what notes from the stage is here to highlight. We've all decided to make Calgary our home and practice our art here. I hope you'll enjoy getting to know us all a bit better. Expect episodes every other Monday starting at the beginning of the orchestra season in September. We'll break for the summer, so 20 episodes per season. I hope you'll enjoy listening as much as I've been enjoying starting to have these conversationswith my colleagues. Our first episode will drop September 2nd, I'll be talking with CPO Concertmaster Diana Cohen. Talk to you soon.
