Hi, I'm Lucia, and my pronouns are she, they. And I'm Nell, and my pronouns are also she, they. And this is Totally Normal About That, a podcast where the two of us talk about media in a totally normal way. Every episode we'll be discussing different pieces of queer media that resonate with us personally and with queer experiences at large. We'll be discussing our favorite movies, TV shows, and books, and digging into the ways they make us want to laugh, cry, and occasionally, or frequently, scream about them on the internet. We've spent a lot of time yelling at each other on the internet about stuff we're passionate about and wanted to invite the rest of the world to the conversation. We'll be talking about things like story themes and tropes, explicit versus implicit text, queer media history, and more. While queer media has been getting a lot of attention and is more present than ever, we can't ignore the long and storied history that has led to the queer representation we now see on screen. Seeing our identities reflected in the characters we love has spurred us to both appreciate the past and look forward to the future. We can't wait to dig into all the stories that we love, while also gaining a better understanding of how they came to be. So that's us and where we're going. We'd love it if you came along with us on this journey. So, what do you say? Are you ready to get totally normal about that? Bye!
