He talks about how 00:03:11.810 --> 00:03:15.389 he presided over a stake with over 2 ,000 people. 00:03:15.469 --> 00:03:17.169 Now this stake was only one year old and there 00:03:17.169 --> 00:03:19.789 were 2 ,000 people. It was filled to capacity 00:03:19.789 --> 00:03:22.469 in the building with three tents outside. The 00:03:22.469 --> 00:03:25.490 stake president and his wife only 31 and 26 years 00:03:25.490 --> 00:03:28.710 old. Could you imagine? Um, so the young stake 00:03:28.710 --> 00:03:30.629 president leads this growing and challenging 00:03:30.629 --> 00:03:33.810 stake with no complaints, only a smiling face 00:03:33.810 --> 00:03:36.469 and a grateful heart. They were delighted, 00:04:17.490 --> 00:04:19.769 said it took them 45 minutes to an hour to walk, 00:04:20.029 --> 00:04:23.649 depending on the pace of their children." Well, our bishop told us that 00:05:46.000 --> 00:05:49.879 our ward building would be, as the current stake 00:05:49.879 --> 00:05:53.800 building, would be hosting another ward because 00:05:53.800 --> 00:05:55.740 their building will be leveled to make room for 00:05:55.740 --> 00:05:57.720 a new stake center down at the other end of the 00:05:57.720 --> 00:06:00.220 valley. And, I mean, honestly, it's because we're 00:06:00.220 --> 00:06:02.540 growing and we'll have another new, beautiful 00:06:02.540 --> 00:06:05.060 building that'll house a lot of members and a 00:06:05.060 --> 00:06:08.579 lot of wards. But, you know, that growing period 00:06:08.579 --> 00:06:10.600 in between is going to have a squished, overlapping, 00:06:10.779 --> 00:06:13.300 binding. places for storage, making classrooms, 00:06:13.639 --> 00:06:16.379 wherever we can, and adjusting the time a little 00:06:16.379 --> 00:06:19.600 bit. Elder Godoy 00:06:24.579 --> 00:06:30.079 returned to Lesotho and met with those who had 00:06:30.079 --> 00:06:32.199 that fatal accident we had mentioned before in 00:06:32.199 --> 00:06:36.300 Elder Christopherson's talk. As he met with youth, 00:06:36.540 --> 00:06:38.620 families, leaders, he thought he would meet a 00:06:38.620 --> 00:06:40.779 somber atmosphere, but he recounted, instead 00:06:40.779 --> 00:06:43.000 I encountered strong resilience sites who were 00:06:43.000 --> 00:06:45.240 coping with the situation in an uplifting and 00:06:45.240 --> 00:06:49.600 inspiring way. Amazing. Absolutely amazing. In 00:06:49.600 --> 00:06:52.240 that same group, there was a 14 -year -old boy. 00:06:52.920 --> 00:06:54.939 Why don't you say that boy's name? And the answer is found in the 00:08:10.620 --> 00:08:12.819 scriptures. It says, And He shall go forth, suffering 00:08:12.819 --> 00:08:14.860 pains and afflictions and temptations of every 00:08:14.860 --> 00:08:17.540 kind. And He will take upon Him their infirmities, 00:08:17.680 --> 00:08:19.459 that His vows may be filled with mercy, that 00:08:19.459 --> 00:08:21.660 He may know how to succor His people according 00:08:21.660 --> 00:08:24.779 to their infirmities. So we know that He knows 00:08:24.779 --> 00:08:28.819 because He did what He asks us to do. Absolutely. 00:08:29.279 --> 00:08:32.139 One of my favorite scriptures. You and I in a moment of weakness 00:08:40.360 --> 00:08:42.720 may cry out, no one understands what I'm going 00:08:42.720 --> 00:08:46.360 through, no human being perhaps knows, but the 00:08:46.360 --> 00:08:48.600 Son of God perfectly knows and understands.
