Verse 1 John sees the Father on the throne, a scroll within His right hand – Sealed with seven seals, no man in heaven, on earth, or under the earth can take. He hears a mighty angel cry, “Who can open the scroll and break its seals?” But none is found; he weeps in sorrow – till an elder bids him look. Verse 2 “Behold God’s Lamb” – still bearing the scars from being slain in the world he formed. He stands among the elders near God’s throne where the four high-ranking beings bow. The Lion of Judah, the Root of David, Victor over Satan’s claim – He alone is worthy to take the scroll and judge the world He framed. Chorus: The Lamb takes the scroll and a new song breaks forth: “Worthy is the Lamb once slain to open the seals of the scroll You hold! For by Your blood You ransomed saints for God from every tribe, people, nation, and tongue. You made them priests and kings to Him to reign in the earth made new.” Verse 3 The seven seals unfold the sweep of Christ’s church through time and space – Through Purity, Persecution’s Fire, Apostasy, Darkness, Martyr’s grace. It shows His work in Heaven’s courts, still guiding history’s flow – God vindicated in His Son, and in His people here below. Verse 4 Spirit-filled, the infant church went forth in purity and might – Its witness shook the pagan world, which made scarce the Word of God. Then martyrs’ blood, from Nero’s flames to Diocletian’s sword, Watered seeds of truth, which the Papal Inquisition failed to uproot. Verse 5 Like Abel’s cry, the martyrs’ plea ascended to God’s throne: “How long, O Lord?” – yet they must wait till their number is fully grown. Cosmic signs flashed through the skies as Christ approached the Holy of Holies – Harbingers of judgment’s hour, and finally of His second coming. Verse 6 Then heaven fell silent for half an hour when the seventh seal was loosed, For Christ returns with all His angels, and heaven’s courts were bare. A sacred hush, a reverent stillness, as the final scenes unfold – A brief prophetic span of seven days till the King appears in the eastern sky. Final Chorus: Worthy is the Lamb once slain to break the seals of the scroll divine! For by His blood He ransomed His people and redeemed them to God; From every tribe, language, people, and nation of this fallen earth, His priests and kings who will reign with Him in the earth He will make new.
