He laid off His glory
to fulfill a promise
First given to Adam then to Abraham
Of a Redeemer, a Lamb without blemish

The coming Messiah was declared by Moses

Though pure and sinless,
He went in the water
To be baptized by His cousin, John

in voice and presence
