If you ask most people who go to church 00:05:29.689 --> 00:05:34.649 on a regular basis what the blood of Jesus did 00:05:34.649 --> 00:05:39.610 for them, most people, like I said, who've gone 00:05:39.610 --> 00:05:41.889 to church for any time, they've probably heard 00:05:41.889 --> 00:05:45.009 this verse. Now, I was on the road for 20 years, 00:05:45.110 --> 00:05:46.949 and then I was at a campground for nine years. 00:05:47.439 --> 00:05:51.699 And I probably shared this verse, I can't say 00:05:51.699 --> 00:05:55.899 every message of the hundreds, maybe thousands 00:05:55.899 --> 00:05:58.759 of messages that I preach, but the vast majority 00:05:58.759 --> 00:06:03.079 of them, I was given a gospel presentation as 00:06:03.079 --> 00:06:06.040 part of the message because I would never see 00:06:06.040 --> 00:06:08.339 a lot of those people again. It was just one 00:06:08.339 --> 00:06:12.000 time that I was with them. But Hebrews 9 .22 00:06:12.000 --> 00:06:16.790 says this, without the shedding of blood, There 00:06:16.790 --> 00:06:22.529 is no forgiveness. There is no remission of sin 00:06:22.529 --> 00:06:28.430 without the shedding of blood. So Jesus purchased 00:06:28.430 --> 00:06:33.750 our forgiveness. He made forgiveness possible 00:06:33.750 --> 00:06:43.660 by his blood purchase on the cross. Okay? Because 00:06:43.660 --> 00:06:45.540 if He wouldn't have died on the cross for us, 00:06:45.600 --> 00:06:47.959 if He wouldn't have shed His blood for us, we 00:06:47.959 --> 00:06:50.240 would be hopelessly and helplessly lost. There 00:06:50.240 --> 00:06:55.800 would be no forgiveness. So this verse is one 00:06:55.800 --> 00:07:00.259 of many receipts in God's Word that says, hey, 00:07:00.399 --> 00:07:04.560 my forgiveness was purchased with the blood of 00:07:04.560 --> 00:07:11.160 Jesus. I have the receipt. So the blood of Jesus 00:07:11.160 --> 00:07:16.079 makes forgiveness possible. His purchase makes 00:07:16.079 --> 00:07:20.199 forgiveness possible. His purchase does not give 00:07:20.199 --> 00:07:23.420 forgiveness to everybody. It's only the people 00:07:23.420 --> 00:07:29.720 who receive His forgiveness by faith in what 00:07:29.720 --> 00:07:35.920 He did and faith in Him and confess Him as Lord. 00:07:36.620 --> 00:07:40.660 Those are the people. who can take hold of that 00:07:40.660 --> 00:07:43.319 forgiveness. But it has been purchased for every 00:07:43.319 --> 00:07:45.879 single person in this room. For he has rescued us from 00:08:12.139 --> 00:08:17.819 the kingdom of darkness. Hallelujah. He has rescued 00:08:17.819 --> 00:08:21.399 us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred 00:08:21.399 --> 00:08:28.860 us into the kingdom of his dear son who purchased 00:08:28.860 --> 00:08:36.559 our freedom and forgave our sins. So here's forgiveness 00:08:36.559 --> 00:08:39.379 again. Everybody say forgiveness. We've been bought at a 00:09:04.379 --> 00:09:08.409 price, a very high price, and that price... is 00:09:08.409 --> 00:09:14.090 the blood of Jesus. He purchased us. He redeemed 00:09:14.090 --> 00:09:20.289 us. That means he bought us out to bring us in. 00:09:22.049 --> 00:09:24.870 So the blood of Jesus paid the price for our 00:09:24.870 --> 00:09:30.909 redemption. Under the old system, 00:10:12.919 --> 00:10:17.019 the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of 00:10:17.019 --> 00:10:22.080 a heifer could cleanse people's bodies from ceremonial 00:10:22.080 --> 00:10:27.559 impurity. Now listen, just think how much more 00:10:27.559 --> 00:10:33.259 the blood of Jesus will purify our consciences. 00:10:39.600 --> 00:10:45.159 Did this truth bless anybody last week?
