We're doing those 00:01:08.370 --> 00:01:11.310 things as like in our belief, we're standing 00:01:11.310 --> 00:01:13.840 in them. We're moving towards them. They didn't just, you know, it was 00:01:55.269 --> 00:01:57.969 because of their action, they wrote, and we see 00:01:57.969 --> 00:02:00.769 them in the Bible in those stories. Things are 00:02:00.769 --> 00:02:03.530 not just up to God, and we've learned that we 00:02:03.530 --> 00:02:06.269 play a significant part in the things that happen 00:02:06.269 --> 00:02:10.000 in our lives. Let's go over some verses just 00:02:10.000 --> 00:02:13.099 to recap where we are. Ephesians 2 .8, for by 00:02:13.099 --> 00:02:17.800 grace you have been saved through faith. Everybody 00:02:17.800 --> 00:02:21.659 say faith. Grace is God's acts of kindness and 00:02:21.659 --> 00:02:24.939 favor towards you and to me. And we experience 00:02:24.939 --> 00:02:29.439 that his work, that work of salvation, right, 00:02:29.500 --> 00:02:32.860 is what he did on the cross. But each and every day, each one of us have 00:02:57.819 --> 00:03:02.699 to choose to walk by faith. 1 John 5 .4, for 00:03:02.699 --> 00:03:05.689 every child of God defeats this evil world. And 00:03:05.689 --> 00:03:08.550 how do we achieve it? We achieve this victory 00:03:08.550 --> 00:03:13.129 through our faith. Amen? Amen. As a believer, 00:03:13.250 --> 00:03:18.409 we can have victory over the world. Why? Is it 00:03:18.409 --> 00:03:20.469 because of something that we do? No, it's because 00:03:20.469 --> 00:03:23.009 of what God has done, right? We can go ahead 00:03:23.009 --> 00:03:25.030 and get happy about the victory that we walk 00:03:25.030 --> 00:03:28.990 in. We are overcomers, the Bible says. It's that still small voice 00:04:44.730 --> 00:04:47.329 of the Holy Spirit on the inside of us, leading 00:04:47.329 --> 00:04:51.730 us, guiding us, wooing us into the things that 00:04:51.730 --> 00:04:54.550 God has for us, right? I can't hear if I'm in like the 00:05:35.370 --> 00:05:37.649 subway or something like that or if I'm on, you 00:05:37.649 --> 00:05:39.689 know, and it's real loud and all that kind of 00:05:39.689 --> 00:05:41.569 stuff. You can still hear the voice of God, but 00:05:41.569 --> 00:05:44.209 that's why most people will hear the voice of 00:05:44.209 --> 00:05:46.970 God when they're at church, right? Because you're 00:05:46.970 --> 00:05:49.610 taking the time out of your schedule to sit, 00:05:49.649 --> 00:05:52.490 to focus, to be conscious of what God has to 00:05:52.490 --> 00:05:55.110 speak to you in that moment. So we have to hear 00:05:55.110 --> 00:05:57.750 from God. So the first step of faith is hearing 00:05:57.750 --> 00:06:00.879 the divine utterance from God. Second step of 00:06:00.879 --> 00:06:05.240 faith is the confidence that we, Hebrews 11 .1, 00:06:05.279 --> 00:06:08.319 faith is the confidence that what we hope for 00:06:08.319 --> 00:06:11.180 will actually happen. It gives us assurance about 00:06:11.180 --> 00:06:13.959 the things we cannot see, right? It's not the 00:06:13.959 --> 00:06:17.420 world's view of hope, not hope so hope. It's 00:06:17.420 --> 00:06:20.540 no -so hope. It's what we like to say. Hope is 00:06:20.540 --> 00:06:23.480 the confident expectation. This is what it means 00:06:23.480 --> 00:06:25.680 when we read hope in our Bibles. It's the confident 00:06:25.680 --> 00:06:28.920 expectation that we will see the goodness and 00:06:28.920 --> 00:06:31.939 promises of God fulfilled in our life. Amen. 00:06:32.779 --> 00:06:35.180 So the second step of faith is wholeheartedly 00:06:35.180 --> 00:06:39.079 believing and having confidence in God's word 00:06:39.079 --> 00:06:44.100 and what he has said. And then James 2 .26 tells 00:06:44.100 --> 00:06:48.360 us this. Faith without works is what? Because look, we can 00:06:57.920 --> 00:07:01.579 hear, we can believe, we can wholeheartedly believe 00:07:01.579 --> 00:07:04.680 and wholeheartedly do, right? But if we don't 00:07:04.680 --> 00:07:10.100 act, if we don't act in faith, what good is it? 00:07:10.800 --> 00:07:16.620 What good is it to you? A lot of people like to put words in 00:07:33.480 --> 00:07:35.680 his mouth and say, oh, well, you know, I'm going 00:07:35.680 --> 00:07:38.420 to make up something to do. But doing something 00:07:38.420 --> 00:07:41.879 without direction is simply presumption. We must 00:07:41.879 --> 00:07:45.689 do what he's told us to do. Under that divine 00:07:45.689 --> 00:07:48.430 utterance, under that word that he has for us, 00:07:48.449 --> 00:07:51.329 okay? So we must act according to God -given 00:07:51.329 --> 00:07:54.089 direction. That's how we're going to see his 00:07:54.089 --> 00:07:56.949 promise fulfilled. So the third step of faith 00:07:56.949 --> 00:08:00.610 is acting in obedience, acting in obedience. 00:08:00.990 --> 00:08:04.250 That is the connection point. But, but, the problem is we 00:09:03.360 --> 00:09:06.080 let our minds, we let logic and reason get in 00:09:06.080 --> 00:09:08.860 the way of what God wants to do, but he's wanting 00:09:08.860 --> 00:09:12.940 to do it through you. Sometimes we have the camp that's just 00:14:53.279 --> 00:14:58.039 like, well, okay, God, you know, God's able and 00:14:58.039 --> 00:15:00.679 he's just going to heal everything and I'm going 00:15:00.679 --> 00:15:03.240 to be miraculously healed. of everything, and 00:15:03.240 --> 00:15:06.100 I don't need to use doctors. And then you have 00:15:06.100 --> 00:15:10.600 the people that's like, well, God gave that wisdom 00:15:10.600 --> 00:15:14.519 to the doctors, and we need to rely on them and 00:15:14.519 --> 00:15:17.940 forsake everything supernatural.
