However, Annalise's 00:09:48.220 --> 00:09:52.240 life was not going to go to plan, and the first 00:09:52.240 --> 00:09:54.940 clue to her fate came around her 16th birthday 00:09:54.940 --> 00:09:58.679 in September 1968. The young girl was sitting 00:09:58.679 --> 00:10:01.059 with a friend just kind of chilling when suddenly 00:10:01.059 --> 00:10:03.799 she totally lost consciousness. And like, again, Annalisa has 00:12:46.620 --> 00:12:50.080 one singular goal in life and that is to teach 00:12:50.080 --> 00:12:52.759 religious studies and to become a teacher you 00:12:52.759 --> 00:12:57.399 need to go to university. So that was wildly 00:12:57.399 --> 00:13:01.080 unhelpful. Annalisa now fully rejected her diagnosis 00:13:01.080 --> 00:13:05.299 because she didn't want to be crazy. She didn't 00:13:05.299 --> 00:13:08.159 want to believe that she would live with this 00:13:08.159 --> 00:13:12.840 forever. So she started to be suspicious of herself, 00:13:13.100 --> 00:13:16.139 finding that the thought of being possessed was 00:13:16.139 --> 00:13:20.659 more comforting than being epileptic. Because 00:13:20.659 --> 00:13:23.120 at least then she could pray her way out of the 00:13:23.120 --> 00:13:25.960 situation. Demonic possession is temporary. Epilepsy 00:13:25.960 --> 00:13:30.820 is forever. However, Annalisa began to regularly 00:13:30.820 --> 00:13:33.919 have seizures. I'm 00:14:23.710 --> 00:14:26.029 just saying, I don't know, I'm just saying. Magically. After 00:14:56.389 --> 00:14:58.750 being convinced of these things, all of a sudden 00:14:58.750 --> 00:15:01.769 these people also could smell the shit smells 00:15:01.769 --> 00:15:07.490 that Annalisa was reporting. Wow. Crazy. After 00:15:07.490 --> 00:15:10.029 her third episode, the young woman was given 00:15:10.029 --> 00:15:14.669 an EEG scan, but it came back normal. The doctors 00:15:14.669 --> 00:15:17.570 prescribed her an anticonvulsant and said, but 00:15:17.570 --> 00:15:22.850 by this point, Annalisa's sisters had noticed 00:15:22.850 --> 00:15:26.190 that Annalisa's whole demeanor had changed, where 00:15:26.190 --> 00:15:29.429 once she'd been a sweet, bubbly girl, she had 00:15:29.429 --> 00:15:33.200 become moody, quiet, and withdrawn. Her only 00:15:33.200 --> 00:15:35.840 interest was religion. It was the only thing 00:15:35.840 --> 00:15:38.960 she would talk about. Annalisa's hallucinations escalated, 00:16:11.240 --> 00:16:13.679 now including knocking sounds, more frequent 00:16:13.679 --> 00:16:17.220 visitations by the demonic faces, And she would 00:16:17.220 --> 00:16:19.799 hear voices telling her that she was going to 00:16:19.799 --> 00:16:23.299 be damned to hell forever. What's more is her 00:16:23.299 --> 00:16:26.279 sisters also began to claim that they could hear 00:16:26.279 --> 00:16:28.840 knocking, coming from Annalise's closet, under 00:16:28.840 --> 00:16:31.659 the floor, and on the ceiling. For the most part, 00:16:31.659 --> 00:16:34.039 her father disregarded these claims, which kind 00:16:34.039 --> 00:16:36.639 of surprises me, because, like, he is a dad, 00:16:36.860 --> 00:16:39.159 right?
