Well, 00:00:48.539 --> 00:00:51.439 what would it be like to have a life led by the 00:00:51.439 --> 00:00:54.359 Holy Spirit and then all of a sudden find out 00:00:54.359 --> 00:00:56.740 that your life is without Him? Now, if you're 00:00:56.740 --> 00:00:58.740 a Christian, a believer of the Lord Jesus Christ, 00:00:58.740 --> 00:01:01.460 you don't lose the Holy Spirit. lose connection 00:01:01.460 --> 00:01:04.200 with Him. We can lose our communication with 00:01:04.200 --> 00:01:07.480 Him. So how do we know when we are in the Spirit, 00:01:07.540 --> 00:01:10.120 in the Holy Spirit, or in our own flesh? And 00:01:10.120 --> 00:01:13.579 how can we lose our relationship with the Holy 00:01:13.579 --> 00:01:17.359 Spirit? So how do we then in turn reconnect with 00:01:17.359 --> 00:01:19.700 the Holy Spirit? So a lot of hows, but a lot 00:01:19.700 --> 00:01:21.280 of scripture to deal with that. Romans chapter 8 verse 9, New Living Translation. 00:01:28.200 --> 00:01:30.579 Paul's writing to the church and Let's see what 00:01:30.579 --> 00:01:33.099 he had to say, led by the Holy Spirit, of course. 00:01:33.379 --> 00:01:35.799 But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. 00:01:36.140 --> 00:01:39.099 You are controlled by the Spirit, if you have 00:01:39.099 --> 00:01:41.159 the Spirit of God living in you. Now, that's 00:01:41.159 --> 00:01:43.439 a giant word, that if, but that if only applies 00:01:43.439 --> 00:01:45.500 to people if they don't know Jesus Christ as 00:01:45.500 --> 00:01:47.200 their Lord and Savior, because as we know, and 00:01:47.200 --> 00:01:49.510 I've said many times, The Holy Spirit comes to 00:01:49.510 --> 00:01:52.310 live and dwell inside of us when we receive Jesus 00:01:52.310 --> 00:01:55.049 as our Lord and Savior. So let's read it again 00:01:55.049 --> 00:01:58.650 slower. But you are not controlled by your sinful 00:01:58.650 --> 00:02:00.510 nature. See, when we have the Holy Spirit who 00:02:00.510 --> 00:02:02.689 lives in us, we're not controlled by him. We 00:02:02.689 --> 00:02:05.870 have to submit or yield ourselves to him in order 00:02:05.870 --> 00:02:08.210 for him to have any kind of impact on our life. 00:02:08.250 --> 00:02:11.789 You are controlled by the Spirit if you have 00:02:11.789 --> 00:02:14.409 the Spirit of God living in you. And it's so 00:02:14.409 --> 00:02:17.349 important that this podcast is focusing on kind 00:02:17.349 --> 00:02:19.349 of life. with the Holy Spirit and kind of life 00:02:19.349 --> 00:02:21.509 without the Holy Spirit dealing with us. Now, 00:02:21.530 --> 00:02:23.930 once again, I need to reiterate, and that is 00:02:23.930 --> 00:02:26.250 that once you receive Jesus Christ as your Lord 00:02:26.250 --> 00:02:28.490 and Savior, the Spirit comes to dwell inside 00:02:28.490 --> 00:02:30.849 of us and you don't lose Him. We don't lose Him, 00:02:30.969 --> 00:02:33.949 but we can lose connection or communication with 00:02:33.949 --> 00:02:36.530 Him. And it's very easy to lose communication 00:02:36.530 --> 00:02:38.650 if we don't seek Him. You know, it's the same 00:02:38.650 --> 00:02:40.810 thing with a friend or a relative or a husband 00:02:40.810 --> 00:02:42.590 or wife. If they don't communicate, they're going 00:02:42.590 --> 00:02:45.270 to lose communication. And so it's truly the 00:02:45.270 --> 00:02:47.569 same thing when you were talking about the relationship 00:02:47.569 --> 00:02:49.770 that we need to have with the Spirit of the Living 00:02:49.770 --> 00:02:52.330 God, the Holy Spirit, who lives and dwells in 00:02:52.330 --> 00:02:55.150 believers. In 1 Corinthians chapter 2 verse 14, 00:02:55.210 --> 00:02:57.710 it says this in the New Living Translation, but 00:02:57.710 --> 00:03:00.129 people who are not spiritual, that means they 00:03:00.129 --> 00:03:03.509 don't have the Holy Spirit, or have only a physical 00:03:03.509 --> 00:03:06.449 life, they really can't receive these truths 00:03:06.449 --> 00:03:09.009 from the Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them 00:03:09.009 --> 00:03:11.449 and they can't understand what the Spirit means. 00:03:11.710 --> 00:03:14.729 And verse 16 says it ends with, we have the mind 00:03:14.729 --> 00:03:18.219 of Christ. So that's is really so important for 00:03:18.219 --> 00:03:20.039 us to understand when we're talking to people 00:03:20.039 --> 00:03:22.180 who are not Christians. They're not follower 00:03:22.180 --> 00:03:24.240 of the Lord Jesus Christ. They've not surrendered 00:03:24.240 --> 00:03:26.780 their life to him. So therefore they do not have 00:03:26.780 --> 00:03:29.159 the Holy Spirit living and dwelling inside of 00:03:29.159 --> 00:03:31.439 them. So these people don't understand and that's 00:03:31.439 --> 00:03:33.759 why sometimes people want to witness their faith 00:03:33.759 --> 00:03:35.960 to someone and they start talking in spiritual 00:03:35.960 --> 00:03:37.840 terms that the other person doesn't understand. 00:03:38.020 --> 00:03:39.960 Or they get the Bible out and they start reading 00:03:39.960 --> 00:03:43.280 big heavy verses and and start what we call thumping 00:03:43.280 --> 00:03:46.099 their Bible or putting their Bible in somebody's 00:03:46.099 --> 00:03:48.280 face, and when the person has no connection with 00:03:48.280 --> 00:03:50.520 that at all, we need to first make a connection 00:03:50.520 --> 00:03:52.800 with people, show them that we love them. Jesus 00:03:52.800 --> 00:03:55.719 did that by feeding people. He did that by showing 00:03:55.719 --> 00:03:58.319 that he loved them, by healing people. Once they 00:03:58.319 --> 00:04:00.620 had a connection with him and started to see 00:04:00.620 --> 00:04:03.039 and to build a relationship with him, then they 00:04:03.039 --> 00:04:04.900 came to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. 00:04:05.159 --> 00:04:07.280 Then the Holy Spirit, when he went to heaven, 00:04:07.300 --> 00:04:10.259 Jesus did. The Holy Spirit came to live inside 00:04:10.259 --> 00:04:12.340 of the followers of the Lord Jesus Christ. So 00:04:12.340 --> 00:04:14.719 let me read this scripture again, slow. Let's 00:04:14.719 --> 00:04:16.459 just ponder it a little bit as we go through 00:04:16.459 --> 00:04:19.519 it. 1 Corinthians chapter 2 verse 14 in the New 00:04:19.519 --> 00:04:22.399 Living Translation, but people who are not spiritual, 00:04:22.519 --> 00:04:24.660 okay, these are not followers of Jesus, they 00:04:24.660 --> 00:04:27.560 don't have the Holy Spirit in them, or have only 00:04:27.560 --> 00:04:29.759 a physical life, that's all they know is the 00:04:29.759 --> 00:04:32.360 flesh, the physical life, they cannot receive 00:04:32.360 --> 00:04:34.839 the truths that God's Spirit has brought us. 00:04:35.240 --> 00:04:38.060 It all sounds foolishness to them, because I've 00:04:38.060 --> 00:04:39.699 had people tell me, oh, that's silly, that's 00:04:39.699 --> 00:04:41.699 dumb, that's foolish. It's foolishness to them 00:04:41.699 --> 00:04:43.800 and they don't understand or they can't understand. 00:04:43.689 --> 00:04:47.149 what the Spirit means but we followers of the 00:04:47.149 --> 00:04:50.470 Lord Jesus Christ in verse 16 tells us it ends 00:04:50.470 --> 00:04:53.110 with we have the mind of Christ now when we have 00:04:53.110 --> 00:04:55.829 the mind of Christ we've got it all I mean we 00:04:55.829 --> 00:04:58.129 have everything that we possibly need in living 00:04:58.129 --> 00:05:00.329 here on earth and we have the mind of Christ 00:05:00.329 --> 00:05:03.269 only be because we follow the Holy Spirit. We 00:05:03.269 --> 00:05:06.810 ask the Spirit to help us. We seek His guidance 00:05:06.810 --> 00:05:08.810 and direction. We pray and ask the Holy Spirit 00:05:08.810 --> 00:05:11.649 to tell us things, give us wisdom, give us insight, 00:05:11.930 --> 00:05:15.269 because He has numerous supernatural gifts to 00:05:15.269 --> 00:05:17.329 give followers of the Lord Jesus Christ. All 00:05:17.329 --> 00:05:20.430 we have to do is seek Him, seek God's Word, read 00:05:20.430 --> 00:05:23.389 God's Word, and claim the promises in God's Word. 00:05:23.569 --> 00:05:25.939 If we don't do that... then we could have our 00:05:25.939 --> 00:05:28.019 relationship with the Holy Spirit kind of separate 00:05:28.019 --> 00:05:30.339 a little bit. Once again, he's still in us, but 00:05:30.339 --> 00:05:32.319 we're not talking to them. We're not communicating 00:05:32.319 --> 00:05:34.740 with him. Maybe some people, they stop going 00:05:34.740 --> 00:05:36.399 to church, they stop reading the Bible, they 00:05:36.399 --> 00:05:38.379 stop praying, and all of a sudden they become 00:05:38.379 --> 00:05:40.920 kind of cold and indifferent to the Holy Spirit, 00:05:40.939 --> 00:05:42.779 and then he can't work with them. And that's 00:05:42.779 --> 00:05:45.060 so important. It can happen to any one of us. 00:05:45.120 --> 00:05:48.220 So we need to draw close to him, seek him, and 00:05:48.220 --> 00:05:52.300 spend our some time every day in addressing the 00:05:52.300 --> 00:05:54.569 Holy Spirit through the Word of God. reading 00:05:54.569 --> 00:05:58.389 the divine Holy Spirit scriptures that were led 00:05:58.389 --> 00:06:00.209 by the Holy Spirit for these people to write. 00:06:00.250 --> 00:06:02.089 That's what the Word of God is. It's a divine 00:06:02.089 --> 00:06:05.670 inspiration of the Holy Spirit. In Jude chapter 00:06:05.670 --> 00:06:08.410 1 verse 19 in the New Living Translation, listen 00:06:08.410 --> 00:06:11.029 to this, they follow their natural instincts 00:06:11.029 --> 00:06:13.470 because they don't have God's Spirit in them. 00:06:13.649 --> 00:06:16.029 All these scriptures are talking about the fact 00:06:16.029 --> 00:06:17.970 that some people have the Holy Spirit living 00:06:17.970 --> 00:06:20.310 in them and others do not. Those who have not 00:06:20.310 --> 00:06:22.389 given their life to Jesus Christ do not. This 00:06:22.389 --> 00:06:24.740 would be a perfect time then for me to invite 00:06:24.740 --> 00:06:27.100 anyone here if you've never given your life to 00:06:27.100 --> 00:06:29.100 Christ. For those of you who are Christian, pray 00:06:29.100 --> 00:06:30.959 with me and believe with me that people are going 00:06:30.959 --> 00:06:33.259 to pray and receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. 00:06:33.399 --> 00:06:35.680 But if you don't know Christ, if you're not sure 00:06:35.680 --> 00:06:37.060 where you're going to spend eternity, you're 00:06:37.060 --> 00:06:39.379 not sure about this heaven thing, you can settle 00:06:39.379 --> 00:06:41.560 that right now. You have to do all this training 00:07:25.800 --> 00:07:27.699 and you have to get all these various techniques 00:07:27.699 --> 00:07:29.800 down and understand the Word of God front to 00:07:29.800 --> 00:07:31.439 back in order to become a Christian. Well, that's 00:07:31.439 --> 00:07:34.019 just not true. My example is the thief on the 00:07:34.019 --> 00:07:35.879 cross. There were two thieves on the cross next 00:07:35.879 --> 00:07:38.879 to Jesus. One was cussing at Jesus and said, 00:07:38.980 --> 00:07:41.439 you know, basically I just, you know, I don't 00:07:41.439 --> 00:07:43.660 care or whatever, I care less about Jesus. The 00:07:43.660 --> 00:07:45.699 other one looked at Jesus and said, basically, 00:07:45.639 --> 00:07:48.480 He's saying, you don't deserve this. I do, he 00:07:48.480 --> 00:07:50.420 said. I'm a sinner. He said, but you're not. 00:07:50.639 --> 00:07:52.839 And Jesus looked at the man who had come and 00:07:52.839 --> 00:07:54.860 had compassion on him, the one who turned to 00:07:54.860 --> 00:07:57.579 Jesus and received and understood who Jesus was. 00:07:57.720 --> 00:08:00.629 Jesus said, today you'll be with me. paradise. 00:08:00.870 --> 00:08:02.689 That is so powerful when you think about it. 00:08:02.810 --> 00:08:05.709 This man that went into heaven, went with Jesus, 00:08:05.889 --> 00:08:09.149 he didn't go to classes, he didn't tithe, he 00:08:09.149 --> 00:08:12.870 didn't pray much at all and yet Jesus knew his 00:08:12.870 --> 00:08:15.389 heart and knew his heart was right and he had 00:08:15.389 --> 00:08:17.889 compassion on him and received him. That's so 00:08:17.889 --> 00:08:19.930 important to understand that, is that we can 00:08:19.930 --> 00:08:22.810 come to know Jesus Christ just by simply humbling 00:08:22.810 --> 00:08:26.170 ourselves and confessing our sins to receive 00:08:26.170 --> 00:08:28.470 Jesus. So I felt like I should say that a little 00:08:28.470 --> 00:08:29.949 bit, because some people say, well, why do you 00:08:29.949 --> 00:08:31.850 have these altar calls in the middle of your 00:08:31.850 --> 00:08:34.129 podcasts? I don't know how people can deal 00:09:26.000 --> 00:09:28.000 with it if they don't have a relationship with 00:09:28.000 --> 00:09:29.940 the Holy Spirit, a relationship with the Lord 00:09:29.940 --> 00:09:32.460 Jesus Christ. You 00:11:00.490 --> 00:11:02.470 know the word of God tells us and you know, I've 00:11:02.470 --> 00:11:04.710 done so many podcasts on the Holy Spirit and 00:11:04.710 --> 00:11:06.450 I've talked about the gifts of the Spirit and 00:11:06.450 --> 00:11:07.990 the fruit of the Spirit and talked about how 00:11:07.990 --> 00:11:10.870 the Holy Spirit, you know, does pray for us and 00:11:10.870 --> 00:11:12.629 through words and groanings that we know not 00:11:12.629 --> 00:11:14.649 of, and those are all wonderful scriptures, but 00:11:14.649 --> 00:11:17.490 I just want us to catch that now, to realize 00:11:17.490 --> 00:11:20.309 that when we're praying, if we lose track of 00:11:20.309 --> 00:11:22.049 what we're praying for, who we're praying for, 00:11:22.090 --> 00:11:24.370 and why we're praying, we can just yield to the 00:11:24.370 --> 00:11:26.309 Holy Spirit and say, Holy Spirit, help me in 00:11:26.309 --> 00:11:29.049 my prayer time. guide my words, direct my thoughts, 00:11:29.169 --> 00:11:31.490 and just wait, and wait on Him. Don't expect 00:11:31.490 --> 00:11:33.870 all of a sudden a massive amount of thoughts 00:11:33.870 --> 00:11:36.750 and scriptures come flying at you. It can be 00:11:36.750 --> 00:11:39.350 slow, it can be sweet, it can be tender, it can 00:11:39.350 --> 00:11:42.029 be just simply the Holy Spirit speaking and telling 00:11:42.029 --> 00:11:44.669 you, call this person and pray with them, or 00:11:44.669 --> 00:11:47.129 talk to that person and apologize to them, or 00:11:47.129 --> 00:11:49.570 tell your boss he's a great guy, or call your 00:11:49.570 --> 00:11:51.210 mother up that you haven't called in a long time, 00:11:51.230 --> 00:11:53.190 or your dad, or whatever it might be.
