Now, in Jesus' 00:01:02.469 --> 00:01:05.890 name I pray. Amen. Now first we need to define 00:01:05.890 --> 00:01:08.969 what the word supernatural means. You see, it 00:01:08.969 --> 00:01:12.790 is God's divine actions. They are higher than 00:01:12.790 --> 00:01:15.269 our natural actions. Matter of fact, I need to 00:01:15.269 --> 00:01:17.390 read a scripture right here that talks about 00:01:17.390 --> 00:01:20.290 how God's powers and his thoughts are greater 00:01:20.290 --> 00:01:22.590 than ours and they're obviously supernatural 00:01:22.590 --> 00:01:25.150 over our natural thoughts. I'm going to read 00:01:25.150 --> 00:01:28.450 from the book of Isaiah in the New Living Translation, 00:01:28.590 --> 00:01:32.450 chapter 55, verses 8 and 9. My thoughts are nothing 00:01:32.450 --> 00:01:34.829 like your thoughts, says the Lord, and my ways 00:01:34.829 --> 00:01:37.829 are far beyond anything you could imagine. See, 00:01:37.870 --> 00:01:40.790 his ways are supernatural. For just as the heavens 00:01:40.790 --> 00:01:43.329 are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher 00:01:43.329 --> 00:01:46.269 than your ways, and my thoughts higher than your 00:01:46.269 --> 00:01:48.370 thoughts." So that kind of lays the groundwork 00:01:48.370 --> 00:01:50.189 that there's a difference between our thoughts 00:01:50.189 --> 00:01:52.989 and God's thoughts and the supernatural. The 00:01:52.989 --> 00:01:56.950 supernatural is above the laws of nature, and 00:01:56.950 --> 00:01:59.730 nature is what we struggle with, which we can 00:01:59.730 --> 00:02:02.450 refer to it also as our flesh, that robs us from 00:02:02.450 --> 00:02:04.909 having that supernatural relationship that we 00:02:04.909 --> 00:02:07.849 need with the Holy Spirit. You see, the supernatural, 00:02:08.110 --> 00:02:11.000 we read about in the Bible. These are divine 00:02:11.000 --> 00:02:14.400 actions of God. They are miracles of healings 00:02:14.400 --> 00:02:17.599 or resurrections or the creation power of God 00:02:17.599 --> 00:02:21.300 or salvation. And it's so important that we understand 00:02:21.300 --> 00:02:24.280 there's a major difference between what we think 00:02:24.280 --> 00:02:26.759 and what our thoughts are in relationship to 00:02:26.759 --> 00:02:29.280 God's thoughts and the supernatural thoughts 00:02:29.280 --> 00:02:32.439 and actions that the Holy Spirit wants to operate 00:02:32.439 --> 00:02:36.360 in our lives. need to understand that the Holy 00:02:36.360 --> 00:02:38.860 Spirit is the one that brings the supernatural 00:02:38.860 --> 00:02:42.060 to us. These supernatural activities, they can 00:02:42.060 --> 00:02:44.800 be experienced by followers of the Lord Jesus 00:02:44.800 --> 00:02:47.699 Christ. We read about the supernatural gifts 00:02:47.699 --> 00:02:50.120 of the Holy Spirit. And I'm not going to go into 00:02:50.120 --> 00:02:52.360 that whole teaching. I've done that before. But 00:02:52.360 --> 00:02:54.280 the supernatural gifts are the power gifts of 00:02:54.280 --> 00:02:56.800 the Holy Spirit of wisdom and knowledge and healings 00:02:56.800 --> 00:02:59.819 and prophecy and tongues and interpretation of 00:02:59.819 --> 00:03:01.539 tongues. And it goes on and on. There's so many 00:03:01.539 --> 00:03:03.560 wonderful gifts of the Holy Spirit. These are 00:03:03.560 --> 00:03:07.479 all supernatural. Jesus calming the waters is 00:03:07.479 --> 00:03:10.099 supernatural. Jesus healing those in the Bible 00:03:10.099 --> 00:03:11.879 where the Word of God tells us that He healed 00:03:11.879 --> 00:03:14.159 all the sick and that every kind of disease and 00:03:14.159 --> 00:03:16.120 illness was healed by the Lord Jesus Christ. 00:03:16.159 --> 00:03:18.939 These are supernatural activities. And they didn't 00:03:18.939 --> 00:03:21.560 cease, they didn't stop when Jesus left the earth 00:03:21.560 --> 00:03:24.199 and went to be with the Father and left the Holy 00:03:24.199 --> 00:03:26.740 Spirit here. No, the gifts can continue and they 00:03:26.740 --> 00:03:29.039 are continuing on. I know in my own life I've 00:03:29.039 --> 00:03:31.520 experienced miracle healings. I've seen miracle 00:03:31.520 --> 00:03:33.620 healings of individuals that the doctors are 00:03:33.620 --> 00:03:36.500 just amazed at. And even the doctors that I have, 00:03:36.500 --> 00:03:38.639 some of them I've talked to have said that they 00:03:38.639 --> 00:03:41.159 don't understand them, they don't know how they 00:03:41.159 --> 00:03:43.680 operate, but they've seen miracles of healings 00:03:43.680 --> 00:03:46.240 in their practice. You know, it would literally 00:03:46.240 --> 00:03:49.939 take hours and hours. to explain and to review 00:03:49.939 --> 00:03:52.439 all the supernatural events in the Word of God. 00:03:52.460 --> 00:03:54.900 So we're not going to do that because we're going 00:03:54.900 --> 00:03:57.759 to try and lay basically a foundation of how 00:03:57.759 --> 00:04:00.240 to understand the Holy Spirit and the supernatural. 00:04:00.500 --> 00:04:04.400 See, the supernatural is led by the Holy Spirit 00:04:04.400 --> 00:04:07.020 in Christians, in followers of the Lord Jesus 00:04:07.020 --> 00:04:10.180 Christ. The Holy Spirit wants us to yield to 00:04:10.180 --> 00:04:14.580 His supernatural abilities. We can live in the 00:04:14.580 --> 00:04:17.579 supernatural. only through the Holy Spirit. You 00:04:17.579 --> 00:04:20.439 know, the supernatural is anything from healings 00:04:20.439 --> 00:04:23.139 and great miracles to just simply that still, 00:04:23.319 --> 00:04:26.500 quiet voice that we hear that tells us to call 00:04:26.500 --> 00:04:29.980 someone or to apologize to someone or correct 00:04:29.980 --> 00:04:32.680 some actions that we've taken or make decisions 00:04:32.680 --> 00:04:35.839 on certain things. Those are just as much supernatural 00:04:35.839 --> 00:04:38.199 activities as the great healings and miracles 00:04:38.199 --> 00:04:40.730 that we read about. Let me give you some examples 00:04:40.730 --> 00:04:44.410 in the scriptures of supernatural power and the 00:04:44.410 --> 00:04:46.470 Holy Spirit and how they work together. Let's 00:04:46.470 --> 00:04:48.470 start with the fruit of the Spirit found in Galatians 00:04:48.470 --> 00:04:50.949 chapter 5 and verse 22. The fruit of the Spirit, 00:04:51.069 --> 00:04:53.810 quite frankly, is a supernatural gift from the 00:04:53.810 --> 00:04:56.610 Holy Spirit. It's love and joy and peace and 00:04:56.610 --> 00:04:59.009 patience and goodness and kindness and gentleness 00:04:59.009 --> 00:05:01.370 and faithfulness and self -control. These are 00:05:01.370 --> 00:05:04.250 things that are above our natural ability. We 00:05:04.250 --> 00:05:05.949 can be in the midst of some really difficult 00:05:05.949 --> 00:05:08.769 times but have joy and peace. That's a supernatural 00:05:08.769 --> 00:05:10.689 experience. We can be going through some of the 00:05:10.689 --> 00:05:13.509 most difficult trials, we can have terrible diagnosis 00:05:13.509 --> 00:05:16.529 from the doctor telling us that our sicknesses 00:05:16.529 --> 00:05:18.610 are bad, they're terrible, they're even life 00:05:18.610 --> 00:05:21.589 -threatening, and yet still be at peace and have 00:05:21.589 --> 00:05:24.089 joy in our heart. The gifts of the Spirit that 00:05:24.089 --> 00:05:25.990 I've talked about previously a little bit, like 00:05:25.990 --> 00:05:28.649 miracles and greater faith and wisdom and tongues 00:05:28.649 --> 00:05:31.970 and all those things, are more examples of the 00:05:31.970 --> 00:05:34.269 supernatural operating in the lives of Christians. 00:05:34.610 --> 00:05:37.670 Examples of divine healing like Jesus raising 00:05:37.670 --> 00:05:40.839 Lazarus from the dead. We read about it in chapter 00:05:40.839 --> 00:05:43.860 11 of the book of John in the New Living Translation. 00:05:43.939 --> 00:05:46.540 Let me read a couple of verses there that I think 00:05:46.540 --> 00:05:48.720 would help us understand the working of the Holy 00:05:48.720 --> 00:05:51.920 Spirit and how we see the supernatural in operation. 00:05:52.399 --> 00:05:55.540 Now in the story of Jesus and Lazarus, remember 00:05:55.540 --> 00:05:58.259 that Lazarus was a dear friend of his and Lazarus 00:05:58.259 --> 00:06:01.939 was loved by so many people. Well, Jesus was 00:06:01.939 --> 00:06:04.160 called upon to come back because Lazarus was 00:06:04.160 --> 00:06:06.819 sick and he delayed because he had things to 00:06:06.819 --> 00:06:09.810 do. doing ministry, and he wasn't able to leave 00:06:09.810 --> 00:06:12.529 right then and run to the aid of the family and 00:06:12.529 --> 00:06:15.230 to Lazarus. But when he got there, when he arrived 00:06:15.230 --> 00:06:17.689 there, he walked up to Martha. This is recorded 00:06:17.689 --> 00:06:20.569 in John chapter 11 verse 24, New Living Translation. 00:06:20.829 --> 00:06:23.769 And Jesus basically says to Martha, your brother 00:06:23.769 --> 00:06:25.509 will rise again. And she's saying, well, if you'd 00:06:25.509 --> 00:06:27.370 have been here sooner, I'm kind of paraphrasing 00:06:27.370 --> 00:06:28.810 it, if you'd have been here sooner, he wouldn't 00:06:28.810 --> 00:06:31.290 have died. And Jesus just simply says, your brother 00:06:31.290 --> 00:06:35.250 will rise again. Verse 24, he says, yes, Martha 00:06:35.250 --> 00:06:39.089 said he will rise when everyone else rises at 00:06:39.089 --> 00:06:41.410 the last day. And then Jesus in verse 25 says, 00:06:41.589 --> 00:06:44.629 no, no, no. He says, I am the resurrection and 00:06:44.629 --> 00:06:47.709 the life. Anyone who believes in me will live 00:06:47.709 --> 00:06:51.310 even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and 00:06:51.310 --> 00:06:54.730 believes in me will never die. Do you believe 00:06:54.730 --> 00:06:57.620 this, Martha? I thought that was... Really important 00:06:57.620 --> 00:07:00.199 to read that, that do you believe this, Martha? 00:07:00.240 --> 00:07:02.920 So do we believe in the miracle power of Jesus, 00:07:03.019 --> 00:07:05.319 the resurrection power of Jesus, the supernatural 00:07:05.319 --> 00:07:08.860 power of Jesus, and how those supernatural powers 00:07:08.860 --> 00:07:11.959 are operated in our lives through the anointing 00:07:11.959 --> 00:07:15.720 of the Holy Spirit? So Jesus then called Lazarus 00:07:15.720 --> 00:07:19.000 forth and said, Lazarus, come forward. And Lazarus, 00:07:19.000 --> 00:07:22.300 they rode the stone back. Lazarus walked out 00:07:22.300 --> 00:07:25.300 and he had his barrel cloths on him and they 00:07:25.300 --> 00:07:28.500 had to remove all that. and he was up and about 00:07:28.500 --> 00:07:31.399 and moving and eating and doing the things that 00:07:31.399 --> 00:07:34.160 any living person would do. So this is a great 00:07:34.160 --> 00:07:36.639 story of the supernatural, but one where it's 00:07:36.639 --> 00:07:40.279 important that we operate and... And understand 00:07:40.279 --> 00:07:43.680 when Jesus said to Martha, do you believe this, 00:07:43.819 --> 00:07:46.779 Martha? Do we believe this? Let me ask each and 00:07:46.779 --> 00:07:49.540 every one of you listening in today, do we all 00:07:49.540 --> 00:07:52.079 believe in supernatural power? Do we believe 00:07:52.079 --> 00:07:54.600 in healings and miracles? And if we don't believe, 00:07:54.639 --> 00:07:56.139 we've got to go to the Word of God. We're going 00:07:56.139 --> 00:07:58.199 to need to go to the Holy Spirit and help Him 00:07:58.199 --> 00:08:01.819 with our unbelief. And so with that, we can receive 00:08:01.819 --> 00:08:04.240 the anointing and the power of the Holy Spirit 00:08:04.240 --> 00:08:06.959 to take us into the realm of the supernatural, 00:08:07.279 --> 00:08:09.800 maybe like we've never experienced. Here's a 00:08:09.800 --> 00:08:11.360 couple more scriptures I think that would be 00:08:11.360 --> 00:08:14.420 helpful to listen to. Acts chapter 1 verse 8 00:08:14.420 --> 00:08:16.220 in the New Living Translation. Listen to this, 00:08:16.420 --> 00:08:19.019 but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit 00:08:19.019 --> 00:08:22.139 comes on you and you will be my witnesses. Right 00:08:22.139 --> 00:08:24.500 there we're hearing from Jesus that the power 00:08:24.500 --> 00:08:27.220 of the Holy Spirit will come upon us and anoint 00:08:27.220 --> 00:08:29.300 us. That's supernatural power. And then in 1 00:08:29.300 --> 00:08:31.959 Corinthians chapter 12 and verse 27 the New Living 00:08:31.959 --> 00:08:34.759 Translation says, all are given different gifts 00:08:34.759 --> 00:08:37.940 to build up the body of Christ. Once again talking 00:08:37.940 --> 00:08:40.600 about the supernatural, being led by the Holy 00:08:40.600 --> 00:08:42.820 Spirit. And then in Galatians chapter 3 and verse 00:08:42.820 --> 00:08:45.659 5, the New Living Translation, God gives His 00:08:45.659 --> 00:08:49.139 Spirit and works miracles among you. Once again, 00:08:49.360 --> 00:08:51.919 the connection between the Holy Spirit and miracles 00:08:51.919 --> 00:08:54.559 and the supernatural. We read in Romans chapter 00:08:54.559 --> 00:08:57.299 8 and verse 9, the New Living Translation, the 00:08:57.299 --> 00:09:01.740 Spirit of God lives in you. Now I wanted to read 00:09:01.740 --> 00:09:04.139 that one before we move on because it's so important 00:09:04.139 --> 00:09:06.200 we understand that when we become the followers 00:09:06.200 --> 00:09:08.230 of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit comes 00:09:08.230 --> 00:09:11.009 to live and dwell in us. And Paul is telling 00:09:11.009 --> 00:09:13.750 the people in Rome about this and explaining 00:09:13.750 --> 00:09:15.690 to them that the Spirit of God lives in you. 00:09:15.690 --> 00:09:18.350 So we've got to believe that. That may sound 00:09:18.350 --> 00:09:20.809 pretty basic to some people, but quite frankly, 00:09:20.870 --> 00:09:22.809 we've got to start at the beginning, and that 00:09:22.809 --> 00:09:25.830 is to have faith to believe that the Holy Spirit 00:09:25.830 --> 00:09:28.909 is living in us. And so the Bible tells us that 00:09:28.909 --> 00:09:30.769 greater is he that is in you than he that is 00:09:30.769 --> 00:09:33.169 in the world. That's simply referring to the 00:09:33.169 --> 00:09:35.610 power of the Holy Spirit, the supernatural power 00:09:35.610 --> 00:09:38.690 of the Holy Spirit. So do we believe, like Jesus 00:09:38.690 --> 00:09:40.809 told Martha, do you believe? Well, I'm asking 00:09:40.809 --> 00:09:43.309 everyone out there, do we believe that we have 00:09:43.309 --> 00:09:45.929 living in us the supernatural power of the Holy 00:09:45.929 --> 00:09:48.690 Spirit? So I hope that that kind of settles that. 00:09:48.769 --> 00:09:51.289 So let's move on to the next part of our podcast 00:09:51.289 --> 00:09:54.490 today. Let me just ask a question. What does 00:09:54.490 --> 00:09:58.320 the supernatural mean to us? all of us. Is it 00:09:58.320 --> 00:10:01.360 possible to live in the supernatural? Well, I 00:10:01.360 --> 00:10:04.559 believe that it is because the power of God is 00:10:04.559 --> 00:10:06.919 inside of us, living inside of us, dwelling inside 00:10:06.919 --> 00:10:10.299 of us, and we can live in the supernatural. What 00:10:10.299 --> 00:10:13.980 it means to Christians is to live abundantly, 00:10:14.139 --> 00:10:16.539 to live with a joy in their life, to live with 00:10:16.539 --> 00:10:19.120 peace. It means living a quality Christian life. 00:10:19.200 --> 00:10:21.340 You know, that's the name of this podcast that's 00:10:21.340 --> 00:10:23.039 been operating. This one's been operating for, 00:10:23.299 --> 00:10:24.700 what, four and a half years now. In the last 00:10:24.700 --> 00:10:26.759 year, we've been focusing totally on the Holy 00:10:26.759 --> 00:10:29.480 Spirit but quite frankly supernatural living 00:10:29.480 --> 00:10:31.720 means that we can live that quality Christian 00:10:31.720 --> 00:10:33.860 life that we're talking about so we can live 00:10:33.860 --> 00:10:36.960 not just a get -by life or just kind of barely 00:10:36.960 --> 00:10:41.240 keep our mind focused on things, but literally 00:10:41.240 --> 00:10:43.919 have abundant living and have an overcoming life 00:10:43.919 --> 00:10:46.419 and becoming more than conquerors. That's the 00:10:46.419 --> 00:10:48.259 life that the Holy Spirit wants to bring to each 00:10:48.259 --> 00:10:50.480 and every one of us through His supernatural 00:10:50.480 --> 00:10:53.480 powers. Living in the supernatural is living 00:10:53.480 --> 00:10:57.059 in the Holy Spirit. We are able to do that based 00:10:57.059 --> 00:11:00.539 on what the Bible tells us in 1 John chapter 00:11:00.539 --> 00:11:04.100 4, verse 4, New International Version. The one 00:11:04.100 --> 00:11:05.899 who is in you, I mentioned this just a moment 00:11:05.899 --> 00:11:08.080 ago, but now I'm going to read the specific scripture. 00:11:08.340 --> 00:11:10.720 The one who is in you, that's the Holy Spirit, 00:11:10.919 --> 00:11:13.220 is greater than the one who is in the world. 00:11:13.320 --> 00:11:17.179 So because of that, we are able to live in the 00:11:17.179 --> 00:11:19.320 power of the Holy Spirit, the supernatural power. 00:11:19.539 --> 00:11:21.779 Now when we start to talk about the supernatural, 00:11:22.120 --> 00:11:25.159 the thoughts of great miracles and healings and 00:11:25.159 --> 00:11:27.659 resurrection power and Jesus walking on water 00:11:27.659 --> 00:11:30.559 and feeding the 5 ,000 with a couple of fish 00:11:30.559 --> 00:11:32.899 and a couple of pieces of bread, all those are 00:11:32.840 --> 00:11:34.860 things we think about the supernatural and those 00:11:34.860 --> 00:11:37.740 are supernatural activities but the supernatural 00:11:37.740 --> 00:11:41.279 is also that small still quiet voice of the Holy 00:11:41.279 --> 00:11:45.179 Spirit reminding us to call an old friend maybe 00:11:45.179 --> 00:11:48.799 to apologize for some past actions that's a supernatural 00:11:48.799 --> 00:11:52.210 act or a thought that maybe you need to change 00:11:52.210 --> 00:11:54.509 maybe the things that you're doing in your life 00:11:54.509 --> 00:11:57.049 or that you should become more active in your 00:11:57.049 --> 00:12:00.149 church or use your talents more or even use them 00:12:00.149 --> 00:12:03.669 at all in the church. Those are the supernatural 00:12:03.669 --> 00:12:06.029 empowerments of the Holy Spirit wanting to work 00:12:06.029 --> 00:12:08.490 through each and every follower of the Lord Jesus 00:12:08.490 --> 00:12:10.409 Christ. You know, this kind of reminds me of 00:12:10.409 --> 00:12:13.450 the time several years ago when I was, my wife 00:12:13.450 --> 00:12:14.889 and I were praying and thinking about it was 00:12:14.889 --> 00:12:17.210 time for me to step down from the church as the 00:12:17.210 --> 00:12:19.529 senior pastor and to bring in a younger person 00:12:19.529 --> 00:12:22.529 so that we can continue to grow and continue 00:12:22.529 --> 00:12:25.210 to attract all ages of people, not just the older 00:12:25.210 --> 00:12:27.789 folks that we had, but that we could kind of 00:12:27.789 --> 00:12:30.350 turn our church over to someone else. I could 00:12:30.350 --> 00:12:32.730 help them or work with them. But it was something 00:12:32.730 --> 00:12:35.070 that we prayed pretty heavily about it. And we 00:12:35.070 --> 00:12:36.950 needed the Holy Spirit to intervene with us. 00:12:37.009 --> 00:12:39.330 So we were praying. And so I was out one day 00:12:39.330 --> 00:12:42.230 during this period of time and just going out 00:12:42.230 --> 00:12:44.629 doing some errands from the church. He had a great ministry. He said matter 00:14:40.700 --> 00:14:42.840 of fact a few days ago I was with the family 00:14:42.840 --> 00:14:45.639 in New York and we were having dinner and I said 00:14:45.639 --> 00:14:48.120 before we eat I'd just like to pray that I get 00:14:48.120 --> 00:14:50.200 a chance to meet with Pastor Friend and talk 00:14:50.200 --> 00:14:51.980 about his kind of what he's thinking to do in 00:14:51.980 --> 00:14:54.419 the church and if there's any way we could work 00:14:54.419 --> 00:14:57.019 together on anything and so he was telling him 00:14:57.019 --> 00:14:59.740 that and here three days later I run into him 00:14:59.740 --> 00:15:02.080 at a coffee shop. Well it was not a run -in to 00:15:02.080 --> 00:15:04.600 it was a divine appointment from God. because 00:15:04.600 --> 00:15:06.899 we chatted, we started talking about it, and 00:15:06.899 --> 00:15:10.399 within a period of 90 days we did a full merger 00:15:10.399 --> 00:15:13.519 and brought our two churches together and created 00:15:13.519 --> 00:15:16.259 something new called Dream City Church. And Dream 00:15:16.259 --> 00:15:18.779 City Church then from there took off and grew 00:15:18.779 --> 00:15:22.039 and got new campuses here and there and has continued 00:15:22.039 --> 00:15:24.659 to expand. But there was an intervention of the 00:15:24.659 --> 00:15:27.299 Holy Spirit, a supernatural intervention of the 00:15:27.299 --> 00:15:29.899 Holy Spirit to stop me in what I was doing and 00:15:29.899 --> 00:15:32.159 move me in the direction He wanted me to go and 00:15:32.159 --> 00:15:34.879 to meet with this pastor that I had known for 00:15:34.879 --> 00:15:37.419 years but hadn't seen for years and the Holy 00:15:37.419 --> 00:15:40.159 Spirit was there operating in that. Now I gave 00:15:40.159 --> 00:15:41.960 you that story, I know it took a little bit of 00:15:41.960 --> 00:15:43.720 time, but I gave you that story because I think 00:15:43.720 --> 00:15:46.840 it's so important to understand that that's how 00:15:46.840 --> 00:15:49.340 the Holy Spirit can work in your life. He can 00:15:49.340 --> 00:15:51.960 impress you to call someone or reconnect with 00:15:51.960 --> 00:15:54.539 someone or change jobs or change the way you're 00:15:54.539 --> 00:15:57.759 living your life or somehow become more active 00:15:57.759 --> 00:15:59.759 in your church, whatever it might be, listen 00:15:59.759 --> 00:16:01.940 to the still quiet voice of the Holy Spirit. 00:16:01.940 --> 00:16:05.429 That is a supernatural movement from God the 00:16:05.429 --> 00:16:09.450 Father. Now, the Holy Spirit led me into a supernatural 00:16:09.450 --> 00:16:11.850 experience and he can do the same thing for any 00:16:11.850 --> 00:16:15.029 one of us. He will do the same to any Christian 00:16:15.029 --> 00:16:18.250 providing that that particular Christian surrenders 00:16:18.250 --> 00:16:20.830 their will to the leading of the Holy Spirit 00:16:20.830 --> 00:16:23.629 and listens to that thought, that impression 00:16:23.629 --> 00:16:26.940 of the Holy Spirit. puts upon them. Heavenly Father, 00:18:44.269 --> 00:18:45.890 for those who are out there today, I know we 00:18:45.890 --> 00:18:48.069 all have needs. Some are having financial needs, 00:18:48.069 --> 00:18:50.130 some are having physical needs, some have maybe 00:18:50.130 --> 00:18:52.109 marital relationship problems, whatever it might 00:18:52.109 --> 00:18:54.970 be. I pray in the name of Jesus that you would 00:18:54.970 --> 00:18:57.029 now touch them and that the Holy Spirit would 00:18:57.029 --> 00:18:59.509 then speak to them and give them guidance, give 00:18:59.509 --> 00:19:01.849 them direction. I pray that the Holy Spirit would 00:19:01.849 --> 00:19:04.009 comfort them, Father, and give them peace. Pray, 00:19:04.130 --> 00:19:06.039 Lord, that the Holy Spirit would work our lives 00:19:06.039 --> 00:19:08.319 greater than we've ever experienced before, and 00:19:08.319 --> 00:19:10.180 I'll thank you for that in advance and give you 00:19:10.180 --> 00:19:12.420 all the praise and glory for it. I suggest that we read the supernatural 00:19:20.660 --> 00:19:23.359 miracles of Jesus that He performed in the Word 00:19:23.359 --> 00:19:25.599 of God. Go back through the Bible. Read the four 00:19:25.599 --> 00:19:28.039 Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Read 00:19:28.039 --> 00:19:30.380 it again and look at those miracles and then 00:19:30.380 --> 00:19:32.319 read about them. Look at the activities that 00:19:32.319 --> 00:19:34.960 took place up to those miracles and after the 00:19:34.960 --> 00:19:37.359 miracles and see how the Holy Spirit operated 00:19:37.359 --> 00:19:40.160 in these things. You see, the Holy Spirit descended 00:19:40.160 --> 00:19:43.059 upon Jesus when John the Baptist baptized Him 00:19:43.059 --> 00:19:45.920 and that initiated His ministry, His absolute 00:19:45.920 --> 00:19:49.259 full -blown ministry here on earth and that power 00:19:49.259 --> 00:19:51.119 of the Holy Spirit who was living in him and 00:19:51.119 --> 00:19:53.839 so when Jesus left he says it's best that I leave 00:19:53.839 --> 00:19:56.220 because if I don't leave you won't have the Holy 00:19:56.220 --> 00:19:58.799 Spirit working with you but if I leave then the 00:19:58.799 --> 00:20:01.119 comforter that I'm sending to you from the Father 00:20:01.119 --> 00:20:03.460 will come to you to live in you to dwell in you 00:20:03.460 --> 00:20:05.480 to give you peace give you guidance give you 00:20:05.480 --> 00:20:08.400 direction give you strength and lead your life 00:20:08.400 --> 00:20:11.059 if you'll yield to him so this is what we need 00:20:11.059 --> 00:20:14.079 to do we need to read the supernatural experiences 00:20:14.079 --> 00:20:17.630 of the Apostles how John wrote the book of Revelation, 00:20:17.950 --> 00:20:21.230 and how the Apostle Paul, who was anti -Christians, 00:20:21.309 --> 00:20:23.509 he hated them, he was killing them, he had no 00:20:23.509 --> 00:20:25.529 use for them, and yet while he was on the road 00:20:25.529 --> 00:20:28.230 to Damascus, Jesus appeared to him and said, 00:20:28.329 --> 00:20:31.569 why are you condemning me? Why are you attacking 00:20:31.569 --> 00:20:35.029 me? And Paul fell over, lost his sight, and the 00:20:35.029 --> 00:20:37.849 power of God just overwhelmed him. That was through 00:20:37.849 --> 00:20:40.789 the operation of the Holy Spirit. Jesus was there, 00:20:40.789 --> 00:20:43.109 but the Holy Spirit's the one that went to Paul 00:20:43.109 --> 00:20:46.259 and convicted him of his need to receive Jesus 00:20:46.259 --> 00:20:48.279 Christ as Lord and Savior. And look what Paul 00:20:48.279 --> 00:20:50.200 did in his life. We look at how the Holy Spirit 00:20:50.200 --> 00:20:53.220 helped King David when he ran into sin. And he 00:20:53.220 --> 00:20:56.319 knew that he had to confess his sins. And he 00:20:56.319 --> 00:20:58.599 says, Dear God, I've sinned against you. And 00:20:58.599 --> 00:21:01.700 he says, Create in me a new heart and restore 00:21:01.700 --> 00:21:04.980 unto me the joy of my salvation. So the Holy 00:21:04.980 --> 00:21:07.859 Spirit was moving upon King David when he was 00:21:07.859 --> 00:21:09.759 in the midst of his sin and helped him to come 00:21:09.759 --> 00:21:12.339 out of that and reestablish his walk with God. 00:21:12.460 --> 00:21:15.160 So just take a moment now to to think about the 00:21:15.160 --> 00:21:18.660 supernatural Holy Spirit and the experience that 00:21:18.660 --> 00:21:21.079 you've had in your life with Him. Obviously, 00:21:21.099 --> 00:21:23.160 if you're a Christian, you know Jesus Christ 00:21:23.160 --> 00:21:26.259 is your Lord and Savior, then you have had a 00:21:26.259 --> 00:21:28.500 supernatural experience there. And I know there's 00:21:28.500 --> 00:21:30.380 times when that still quiet voice tells you to 00:21:30.380 --> 00:21:32.380 do something. Have you ever been, you know, maybe 00:21:32.380 --> 00:21:34.220 doing something, being very busy, then all of 00:21:34.220 --> 00:21:36.160 a sudden a thought comes to mind, I need to call 00:21:36.160 --> 00:21:38.880 this person and talk to them, or I need to, when 00:21:38.880 --> 00:21:41.380 I get home, talk to my wife or my husband or 00:21:41.380 --> 00:21:44.509 my kids or something. share something with them. 00:21:44.569 --> 00:21:46.730 I truly believe that for followers of the Lord 00:21:46.730 --> 00:21:49.690 Jesus Christ that is a supernatural movement 00:21:49.690 --> 00:21:52.089 or a still quiet voice of the Holy Spirit giving 00:21:52.089 --> 00:21:54.470 us guidance and direction. When those things 00:21:54.470 --> 00:21:56.730 happen don't take them lightly. I can tell you 00:21:56.730 --> 00:21:58.349 there's been times that the Holy Spirit's told 00:21:58.349 --> 00:22:00.509 me to pray for someone and I wound up praying 00:22:00.509 --> 00:22:03.210 for that person for five, ten, fifteen, twenty 00:22:03.210 --> 00:22:05.470 years every day on my prayer list.
