Well, today we're 00:00:59.560 --> 00:01:02.000 going to look at a lot of different ways to kind 00:01:02.000 --> 00:01:04.400 of analyze what the Word of God says about miracles, 00:01:04.500 --> 00:01:07.459 because we need to use the Word of God to prove 00:01:07.459 --> 00:01:09.760 that miracles took place and they can still take 00:01:09.760 --> 00:01:11.900 place to even this day. Let's start in the book 00:01:11.900 --> 00:01:15.040 of Acts. In Acts chapter 19 verses 11 and 12 00:01:15.040 --> 00:01:18.840 it says now God working unusual miracles by the 00:01:18.840 --> 00:01:21.000 hands of Paul. That's what I was talking about 00:01:21.000 --> 00:01:25.340 verse 12 so that even handkerchiefs and aprons 00:01:25.340 --> 00:01:28.500 that had touched him were taken to the sick and 00:01:28.500 --> 00:01:31.959 their illnesses were healed and the evil spirits 00:01:31.959 --> 00:01:35.019 left them. Now this is a powerful scripture and 00:01:35.019 --> 00:01:37.400 one day I was praying over some people and I 00:01:37.400 --> 00:01:39.280 ran across this scripture, and they were asking 00:01:39.280 --> 00:01:42.239 me to pray for someone who had an incurable cancer. 00:01:42.500 --> 00:01:44.260 But they were someone that was overseas. They 00:01:44.260 --> 00:01:45.920 weren't here living here in the United States. 00:01:45.920 --> 00:01:47.400 And I thought, well, I can't get there. There's 00:01:47.400 --> 00:01:49.780 no way I can reach them. And I had no way to 00:01:49.780 --> 00:01:51.420 get in contact with them. So I looked at this 00:01:51.420 --> 00:01:53.299 scripture, and I thought, Holy Spirit, could 00:01:53.299 --> 00:01:55.579 you use that? Would you use that so that we could 00:01:55.579 --> 00:01:57.819 pray for people and believe for healing? So the 00:01:57.819 --> 00:02:00.780 Holy Spirit helped me to experience in this group, 00:02:00.799 --> 00:02:04.819 to experience with a woman who was not able to 00:02:04.819 --> 00:02:07.209 come to our church for prayer. because of her 00:02:07.209 --> 00:02:09.169 cancer and because of the distance she lived 00:02:09.169 --> 00:02:11.949 away. We read this scripture to a group in a 00:02:11.949 --> 00:02:15.009 prayer meeting and then we anointed a scarf with 00:02:15.009 --> 00:02:18.909 oil and asked the family to lay these on this 00:02:18.909 --> 00:02:21.530 person, this individual. We prayed for a miracle. 00:02:21.610 --> 00:02:23.909 We asked the Holy Spirit to release the miracle 00:02:23.909 --> 00:02:26.430 power that he has for healing in this individual. 00:02:26.689 --> 00:02:29.870 A month later the family told me that the lady 00:02:29.870 --> 00:02:33.030 with cancer was healed. The healing basically 00:02:33.030 --> 00:02:35.469 impacted the entire neighborhood where she lived. 00:02:35.469 --> 00:02:38.050 because the neighbors knew the woman was suffering 00:02:38.050 --> 00:02:40.969 with cancer and all of a sudden the power of 00:02:40.969 --> 00:02:43.389 the Holy Ghost and the healing power of Jesus 00:02:43.389 --> 00:02:45.469 flowed through this woman and healed her body. 00:02:45.789 --> 00:02:48.150 Now several people in that neighborhood received 00:02:48.150 --> 00:02:51.050 Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior after hearing 00:02:51.050 --> 00:02:54.189 of these healings, of this healing. So, first 00:02:54.189 --> 00:02:57.050 of all, to God be the glory, to God be all praise, 00:02:57.229 --> 00:02:59.550 glory, and honor. And I thank God for his scriptures 00:02:59.550 --> 00:03:02.409 and I believe this is an example because we experienced 00:03:02.409 --> 00:03:04.370 it personally, but this is an example of how 00:03:04.370 --> 00:03:07.680 we can apply God's Word to today for situations 00:03:07.680 --> 00:03:10.780 that we're dealing with on a daily basis here 00:03:10.780 --> 00:03:13.060 in our own communities. So I pray that might 00:03:13.060 --> 00:03:15.400 be of help to you and it's something that's very 00:03:15.400 --> 00:03:17.719 real that took place and we give God all praise 00:03:17.719 --> 00:03:21.319 and glory for it. Now here are a few Bible examples 00:03:21.319 --> 00:03:24.520 of miracle healings. I'm going to use the Word 00:03:24.520 --> 00:03:26.900 of God all the way through this. I will read 00:03:26.900 --> 00:03:29.400 them to you and then we'll make some comments 00:03:29.400 --> 00:03:31.939 on some of them. Before I get into the book of 00:03:31.939 --> 00:03:33.780 Acts where we're talking about specific healings, 00:03:33.819 --> 00:03:36.400 I want to read what John had to say in 1 Corinthians 00:03:36.400 --> 00:03:39.580 chapter 12 verse 4. There are different kinds 00:03:39.580 --> 00:03:42.819 of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the 00:03:42.819 --> 00:03:45.259 source of them all. So that's so important to 00:03:45.259 --> 00:03:47.199 understand that before we go any further, that 00:03:47.199 --> 00:03:50.000 the Holy Spirit is the source of the gifts of 00:03:50.000 --> 00:03:52.719 the Spirit that he manifests in individuals who 00:03:52.719 --> 00:03:54.740 are seeking them. And in 1 Corinthians chapter 00:03:54.740 --> 00:03:57.740 12 verses 9 and 10, a New Living Translation 00:03:57.740 --> 00:04:00.780 again, it says the same Spirit gives great faith 00:04:00.780 --> 00:04:04.080 to another and to someone else though One spirit 00:04:04.080 --> 00:04:07.870 gives the gift of healing. He gives. one person 00:04:07.870 --> 00:04:10.909 the power to perform miracles. Now all of that 00:04:10.909 --> 00:04:13.090 is the foundation that we're building from to 00:04:13.090 --> 00:04:15.870 talk about how the Holy Spirit can bring miracles 00:04:15.870 --> 00:04:18.410 into our life. So now we look in the Word of 00:04:18.410 --> 00:04:20.930 God and we look and see what the Apostles did, 00:04:21.029 --> 00:04:23.110 what they were doing and how the Holy Spirit 00:04:23.110 --> 00:04:25.269 operated in them. There's a wonderful example 00:04:25.269 --> 00:04:28.029 found in the book of Acts in chapter three and 00:04:28.029 --> 00:04:30.850 verses one through eight in the New Living Translation. 00:04:30.889 --> 00:04:32.350 Let me just read this to you. I'm going to read 00:04:32.350 --> 00:04:35.149 all eight verses because it's necessary to understand 00:04:35.149 --> 00:04:37.740 how the Holy Spirit it worked and how Peter was 00:04:37.740 --> 00:04:41.220 used. Peter and John went to the temple one afternoon 00:04:41.220 --> 00:04:43.899 to take part in the three o 'clock prayer service. 00:04:43.980 --> 00:04:47.019 As they approached the temple, a man lame from 00:04:47.019 --> 00:04:50.120 birth was being carried in. Each day he was put 00:04:50.120 --> 00:04:53.019 beside the temple gate, the one called the beautiful 00:04:53.019 --> 00:04:57.000 gate, so he could be begging from the people 00:04:57.000 --> 00:04:59.279 going into the temple. When he saw Peter and 00:04:59.279 --> 00:05:01.819 John about to enter, he asked them for some money. 00:05:02.430 --> 00:05:04.829 Peter said, John, well in fact they looked at 00:05:04.829 --> 00:05:06.649 each other first of all and then first back and 00:05:06.649 --> 00:05:08.209 forth each other thinking, you know, what do 00:05:08.209 --> 00:05:10.189 we say to him? That would be our natural intent. 00:05:10.470 --> 00:05:13.490 And Peter and John looked at him intently and 00:05:13.490 --> 00:05:16.370 Peter said, look at us. The lame man looked at 00:05:16.370 --> 00:05:19.680 them. eagerly expecting some money. But Peter 00:05:19.680 --> 00:05:22.339 said, I don't have any silver or gold for you, 00:05:22.560 --> 00:05:24.860 but I'll give you what I have. That's so important 00:05:24.860 --> 00:05:27.379 right there. I'll give you what I have. The Holy 00:05:27.379 --> 00:05:30.379 Spirit had given this gift to him. He knew it, 00:05:30.420 --> 00:05:32.379 and he knew that he could operate in that gift 00:05:32.379 --> 00:05:33.939 through the power and the anointing of the Holy 00:05:33.939 --> 00:05:36.540 Spirit. In the name of Jesus, he said, Jesus 00:05:36.540 --> 00:05:39.420 is the healer, the Nazarene, get up and walk. 00:05:39.540 --> 00:05:42.660 Then Peter took the lame man by the right hand 00:05:42.660 --> 00:05:45.319 and helped him up. And as he did, the man's feet 00:05:45.500 --> 00:05:48.459 and ankles were instantly healed and strengthened. 00:05:48.879 --> 00:05:51.300 He jumped up, he stood on his feet and began 00:05:51.300 --> 00:05:54.360 to walk. Then walking, leaping and praising God, 00:05:54.480 --> 00:05:57.120 he went into the temple with them. Now, what 00:05:57.120 --> 00:05:59.120 a great story that is. You know, some people 00:05:59.120 --> 00:06:00.220 look at that story and they say, well, that's 00:06:00.220 --> 00:06:02.500 really great. That's nice for them. But you know, 00:06:02.620 --> 00:06:05.180 now today is today. And you know, some people, 00:06:05.399 --> 00:06:08.259 some churches say that's all stopped now. Those 00:06:08.259 --> 00:06:10.220 healings are not taking place. Well, I'm here 00:06:10.220 --> 00:06:12.379 to tell you that they do take place to this day. 00:06:12.480 --> 00:06:14.939 I gave you an example earlier on in this podcast 00:06:14.939 --> 00:06:16.740 where we just looked at the Word of God and saw 00:06:16.740 --> 00:06:18.660 what took place and we prayed and we asked the 00:06:18.660 --> 00:06:21.040 Holy Spirit to do the same for this woman. And 00:06:21.040 --> 00:06:23.339 this woman was halfway around the world. And 00:06:23.339 --> 00:06:25.819 all they did was they went with their faith and 00:06:25.819 --> 00:06:27.939 trust in God the handkerchief really was nothing 00:06:27.939 --> 00:06:29.980 it just simply was something that was anointed 00:06:29.980 --> 00:06:32.620 but their faith went with them and as their faith 00:06:32.620 --> 00:06:35.579 expanded and increased and they prayed and they 00:06:35.579 --> 00:06:38.180 laid hands on this lady she was healed that's 00:06:38.180 --> 00:06:41.060 happening today and as a pastor who prays for 00:06:41.060 --> 00:06:43.939 a lot of sick people I've seen some amazing miracle 00:06:43.939 --> 00:06:46.519 healings take place and I just want to say to 00:06:46.519 --> 00:06:49.079 God be all the glory all the honor and all the 00:06:49.079 --> 00:06:51.660 praise because we have to give what we have and 00:06:51.660 --> 00:06:54.519 what we have is faith if all we have to is faith, 00:06:54.660 --> 00:06:56.600 then that's enough. So when you pray for people, 00:06:56.779 --> 00:06:59.399 what you have to give is faith. You're not a 00:06:59.399 --> 00:07:01.759 doctor. You don't know how to give certain medical 00:07:01.759 --> 00:07:04.120 advice. And even if you are a doctor, you don't 00:07:04.120 --> 00:07:06.420 know for sure how the treatments are going to 00:07:06.420 --> 00:07:08.920 go, and how they make one way in one person, 00:07:08.939 --> 00:07:11.199 another way in someone else. But when we're followers 00:07:11.199 --> 00:07:13.480 of the Lord Jesus Christ, and we've received 00:07:13.480 --> 00:07:16.019 the Holy Spirit into our life, then He's there, 00:07:16.040 --> 00:07:19.259 available, and ready to use us to do His work. 00:07:19.319 --> 00:07:22.259 And so we can claim by faith what we have, what 00:07:22.259 --> 00:07:25.389 Peter had. we have his faith and trust in God 00:07:25.389 --> 00:07:27.750 and we call forth healings and believe for them 00:07:27.750 --> 00:07:30.310 and claim them in Jesus name. Now let's look 00:07:30.310 --> 00:07:33.509 at another example of how the Holy Spirit operates 00:07:33.509 --> 00:07:36.449 with miracles. In the book of Acts chapter 5 00:07:36.449 --> 00:07:39.870 and verses 15 and 16 in the New Living Translation, 00:07:40.009 --> 00:07:43.170 it says this, as a result of the Apostles work, 00:07:43.529 --> 00:07:46.329 sick people were brought out into the streets 00:07:46.329 --> 00:07:50.129 on beds and mats so that Peter's shadow might 00:07:50.129 --> 00:07:53.589 fall across them. And as he went by verse 16 00:07:53.589 --> 00:07:57.110 crowds came from the villages around Jerusalem 00:07:57.110 --> 00:08:00.540 bringing their sick and they possessed, those 00:08:00.540 --> 00:08:02.740 that were possessed by evil spirits, and they 00:08:02.740 --> 00:08:05.699 were all healed. They were all healed. Now look 00:08:05.699 --> 00:08:08.040 at that example. That is truly remarkable. Now, 00:08:08.060 --> 00:08:09.660 some people say, well, that stopped way back 00:08:09.660 --> 00:08:12.319 then. Well, no, it has not. If you look and study 00:08:12.319 --> 00:08:14.220 a lot of the powerful revivals that have taken 00:08:14.220 --> 00:08:16.680 place, I think of Charles Finney. And in Charles 00:08:16.680 --> 00:08:18.779 Finney, when he was a great evangelist and he 00:08:18.779 --> 00:08:20.980 traveled the world, it said that when he would 00:08:20.980 --> 00:08:23.379 walk through factories to pray with people, they 00:08:23.379 --> 00:08:25.959 would be slain in the spirit. They would be overpowered 00:08:25.959 --> 00:08:28.639 by the presence of the Holy Spirit that was operating 00:08:28.560 --> 00:08:30.959 in him and they would be healed or they would 00:08:30.959 --> 00:08:33.019 be saved or they'd be filled with the power of 00:08:33.019 --> 00:08:35.600 the Holy Spirit. So those miracles are alive 00:08:35.600 --> 00:08:38.500 and well on the planet Earth today. We must believe 00:08:38.500 --> 00:08:40.580 for them, we must ask the Holy Spirit to help 00:08:40.580 --> 00:08:43.159 us to operate in them and take authority over 00:08:43.159 --> 00:08:45.539 evil spirits, take authority over sickness, over 00:08:45.539 --> 00:08:48.940 illnesses and disease and pray in the name of 00:08:48.940 --> 00:08:51.500 Jesus, not in our name, but in the name of Jesus 00:08:51.500 --> 00:08:53.759 that people will be healed or restored and see 00:08:53.759 --> 00:08:56.759 miracles come forward. You know recently because 00:08:56.759 --> 00:08:59.549 of the number of healings experienced for so 00:08:59.549 --> 00:09:01.830 many people over the years I was impressed to 00:09:01.830 --> 00:09:04.769 do a series of podcasts entitled Faith for Miracles. 00:09:05.090 --> 00:09:07.409 Well that series of podcasts turned into a book 00:09:07.409 --> 00:09:10.090 that I just completed recently and at the end 00:09:10.090 --> 00:09:12.230 of this podcast I'll tell you how you can get 00:09:12.230 --> 00:09:15.009 that book and where it's accessible but I just 00:09:15.009 --> 00:09:16.570 want to let you know that that book has gone 00:09:16.570 --> 00:09:19.009 out and now I know that literally hundreds and 00:09:19.009 --> 00:09:20.950 people of thousands of people now are starting 00:09:20.950 --> 00:09:23.929 to experience the power of the Holy Spirit through 00:09:23.929 --> 00:09:27.259 the miracles that operate in them. Because if 00:09:40.000 --> 00:09:42.399 you don't the balance of this podcast probably 00:09:42.399 --> 00:09:44.399 isn't going to do a whole lot or even this whole 00:09:44.399 --> 00:09:46.740 Podcast might be of any value might not be of 00:09:46.740 --> 00:09:49.879 any value if you don't believe that this can 00:09:49.879 --> 00:09:53.600 happen today Do you believe that the Holy Spirit 00:09:53.600 --> 00:09:56.500 can use you? That's another part Some people 00:09:56.500 --> 00:09:59.139 say, well, it's not for me. I know that this 00:09:59.139 --> 00:10:01.039 person can be used or that person can be used, 00:10:01.059 --> 00:10:04.120 but for me, I don't think so. Well, God can use 00:10:04.120 --> 00:10:07.559 anyone as long as we are willing to yield ourselves 00:10:07.559 --> 00:10:09.820 and surrender ourselves to Him and be led by 00:10:09.820 --> 00:10:12.720 the Spirit of God rather than by our own spirit. 00:10:12.860 --> 00:10:15.120 Now, let me just ask this then. Who will step 00:10:15.120 --> 00:10:19.580 up and take the place of Peter and Paul and ask 00:10:19.580 --> 00:10:22.379 the Holy Spirit for miracles, to believe for 00:10:22.379 --> 00:10:24.779 healings? and believe for miracles. Matter of 00:10:24.779 --> 00:10:27.100 fact, I'm feeling really touched by the Holy 00:10:27.100 --> 00:10:30.019 Spirit now to pray for people, for faith, to 00:10:30.019 --> 00:10:32.480 believe this podcast. Heavenly Father, I need 00:10:32.480 --> 00:10:35.200 to stop right now. And under the authority of 00:10:35.200 --> 00:10:37.779 the Holy Spirit, I ask now that those who are 00:10:37.779 --> 00:10:40.220 listening to this will believe that they can 00:10:40.220 --> 00:10:43.799 be used, that they can perform miracles of healings 00:10:43.799 --> 00:10:47.039 and just various miracles through the power and 00:10:47.039 --> 00:10:49.240 the anointing of the Holy Spirit. So I pray now, 00:10:49.240 --> 00:10:51.799 Father, that faith will increase because the 00:10:51.799 --> 00:10:53.639 Holy Spirit is also the one that gives great 00:10:53.639 --> 00:10:55.480 faith. That's one of the gifts, the power gifts 00:10:55.480 --> 00:10:58.580 of the Spirit is great faith. So I pray now an 00:10:58.580 --> 00:11:01.240 impartation of that great faith would go forth 00:11:01.240 --> 00:11:03.320 into these individuals who are listening today 00:11:03.320 --> 00:11:05.840 and Father they shall lay hands upon the sick 00:11:05.840 --> 00:11:08.559 and they shall rise up they shall pray for those 00:11:08.559 --> 00:11:10.519 that need a miracle and the miracle will take 00:11:10.519 --> 00:11:12.700 place and we'll thank you for that and give you 00:11:12.700 --> 00:11:15.620 praise for it now in Jesus name I pray Amen. 00:11:15.919 --> 00:11:17.919 Well, I guess it's important to be obedient to 00:11:17.919 --> 00:11:19.600 the Holy Spirit, especially when you're talking 00:11:19.600 --> 00:11:22.200 about the Holy Spirit. But I truly felt impressed 00:11:22.200 --> 00:11:24.899 that there were people who were having a rough 00:11:24.899 --> 00:11:27.220 time with the question I asked, do you believe 00:11:27.220 --> 00:11:30.000 that God can use you? Are you willing? And do 00:11:30.000 --> 00:11:32.539 you believe that those miracles can take place 00:11:32.539 --> 00:11:35.179 today and that he can use you to operate in those 00:11:35.179 --> 00:11:37.559 miracles? So I just thank God for that. And I 00:11:37.559 --> 00:11:39.700 thank the Holy Spirit for kind of correcting 00:11:39.700 --> 00:11:42.279 the direction that we were going in this particular 00:11:42.279 --> 00:11:45.039 podcast. Now the Holy Spirit and miracles are 00:11:45.039 --> 00:11:48.659 still, absolutely still alive and well today. 00:11:48.899 --> 00:11:51.340 So it only takes us to yield. We've got to learn 00:11:51.340 --> 00:11:53.899 how to yield to the Holy Spirit, to His power, 00:11:54.120 --> 00:11:57.019 so that His power will flow from Him and His 00:11:57.019 --> 00:12:00.519 gifts of healings and miracles will... be manifested 00:12:00.519 --> 00:12:03.100 in the followers of the Lord Jesus Christ. I 00:12:03.100 --> 00:12:06.059 believe that with every ounce in me. I know that 00:12:06.059 --> 00:12:08.700 I've personally been healed of some amazing diseases. 00:12:08.960 --> 00:12:12.580 I've been given terminal diagnosis of cancer 00:12:12.580 --> 00:12:16.679 and kidney failure and things that these doctors 00:12:16.679 --> 00:12:19.019 have just said. Really not a whole lot of hope, 00:12:19.019 --> 00:12:22.100 if any. And so I thank God for that, and I believe 00:12:22.100 --> 00:12:24.639 that that's a gift of the Holy Spirit, and I 00:12:24.639 --> 00:12:27.200 pray that that gift will pass forth to individuals 00:12:27.200 --> 00:12:29.759 listening in today. Now, Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 00:12:29.759 --> 00:12:32.379 chapter 12 verse 7 some very important words 00:12:32.379 --> 00:12:34.460 in the New Living Translation. It says, a spiritual 00:12:34.460 --> 00:12:38.299 gift is given to each of us so we can help each 00:12:38.299 --> 00:12:41.200 other. Now, that gift is not just given to us 00:12:41.200 --> 00:12:42.980 so that we can just have it and tell people, 00:12:42.980 --> 00:12:46.059 I've got it, and kind of boast about it, because 00:12:46.059 --> 00:12:47.519 we certainly can't boast about it. something 00:12:47.519 --> 00:12:49.879 like that because it's not of us anyways. But 00:12:49.879 --> 00:12:52.679 Paul is saying that a spiritual gift is given 00:12:52.679 --> 00:12:55.799 to each of us. Now he's talking to all of us 00:12:55.799 --> 00:12:59.639 and so we are able to do what? Help other people 00:12:59.639 --> 00:13:02.320 to reach out and help others. They'll receive 00:13:20.419 --> 00:13:23.240 the intervention of the Holy Spirit to change 00:13:23.240 --> 00:13:25.620 their lives. For me, maybe an addiction on drugs 00:13:25.620 --> 00:13:28.019 or an addiction on whatever issue might be in 00:13:28.019 --> 00:13:30.019 their life, alcohol, whatever it might be. And 00:13:30.019 --> 00:13:32.179 I pray that that will take place and that God 00:13:32.179 --> 00:13:35.080 will use each and every one of us to use that 00:13:35.080 --> 00:13:37.460 and to pray. There 00:14:05.370 --> 00:14:08.149 are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the 00:14:08.149 --> 00:14:10.950 same Spirit is the source of them all. Have we 00:14:10.950 --> 00:14:12.970 received more of that now to understand where 00:14:12.970 --> 00:14:15.669 the source is? It's not us. The source is the 00:14:15.669 --> 00:14:17.690 Holy Spirit, and He's the one that can manifest 00:14:17.690 --> 00:14:19.850 these gifts. And then in 1 Corinthians chapter 00:14:19.850 --> 00:14:23.330 12 verses 9 and 10, in the New Living Translation, 00:14:23.409 --> 00:14:26.299 listen to this, the same Spirit. Paul's writing 00:14:26.299 --> 00:14:29.220 this now gives great faith. Boy, we could just 00:14:29.220 --> 00:14:31.220 stop right there, couldn't we? Just talk about 00:14:31.220 --> 00:14:33.320 great faith. Is there anybody out there that 00:14:33.320 --> 00:14:35.259 would love to have greater faith? I know I would. 00:14:35.559 --> 00:14:38.039 I pray about that and ask the Holy Spirit to 00:14:38.039 --> 00:14:41.000 help me with that. But Paul wrote this, the same 00:14:41.000 --> 00:14:45.360 spirit gives great faith to another and to someone 00:14:45.360 --> 00:14:49.120 else. The one spirit gives the spirit of healing. 00:14:49.450 --> 00:14:53.129 He gives one person the power to perform miracles. 00:14:53.309 --> 00:14:55.509 I picked those three out. Now, in that reading 00:14:55.509 --> 00:14:58.210 of 1 Corinthians chapter 12, verses 1 through 00:14:58.210 --> 00:15:00.750 11, which all of you should read, I just pray 00:15:00.750 --> 00:15:02.350 that all of you, I'm not going to go through 00:15:02.350 --> 00:15:05.379 and read it again. because I've did a whole series 00:15:05.379 --> 00:15:07.480 of podcasts dealing with these gifts, the power 00:15:07.480 --> 00:15:09.740 gifts, but they're found in 1 Corinthians chapter 00:15:09.740 --> 00:15:12.960 12, verses 1 through 11, where Paul is talking 00:15:12.960 --> 00:15:14.779 about all the gifts, and that's the gifts of 00:15:14.779 --> 00:15:17.340 tongues and interpretation of tongues, and the 00:15:17.340 --> 00:15:19.679 gifts of healings, of course, are in there, and 00:15:19.679 --> 00:15:23.240 the power gifts of prophecy and the things that 00:15:23.240 --> 00:15:26.600 people love to hear about, but sometimes they 00:15:26.600 --> 00:15:29.360 pull back a little bit when it comes time to 00:15:29.360 --> 00:15:32.000 receive the gifts of healing and miracles because 00:15:32.000 --> 00:15:34.559 they think that that's... maybe from just for 00:15:34.559 --> 00:15:36.139 super Christians, where there's no such thing 00:15:36.139 --> 00:15:38.379 as a super Christian. The only thing that's super 00:15:38.379 --> 00:15:41.360 is the supernatural power of God manifested through 00:15:41.360 --> 00:15:43.320 the anointing of the power of the Holy Spirit. 00:15:43.539 --> 00:15:46.000 And so we need to pray for that and believe for 00:15:46.000 --> 00:15:48.740 that. So I encourage you, read 1 Corinthians 00:15:48.740 --> 00:15:51.240 chapter 12, study it, read it over and over again, 00:15:51.240 --> 00:15:54.899 and then ask the Holy Spirit for... the blessings 00:15:54.899 --> 00:15:57.940 and ask him to come in and make himself known 00:15:57.940 --> 00:16:00.279 to each and each one of us to receive the gifts 00:16:00.279 --> 00:16:02.539 that he chooses. Now he's going to choose what 00:16:02.539 --> 00:16:04.659 he gives and to whom he gives it. That's what 00:16:04.659 --> 00:16:06.759 that scripture is telling us. And so we've got 00:16:06.759 --> 00:16:08.639 to believe for that and take faith in that and 00:16:08.639 --> 00:16:11.600 trust God for that. Now I've asked This question, 00:16:11.759 --> 00:16:13.700 this particular question to a lot of Christians 00:16:13.700 --> 00:16:15.200 over the years. As a matter of fact, when someone 00:16:15.200 --> 00:16:17.220 comes up for prayer and they come up to me and 00:16:17.220 --> 00:16:19.659 they say, I need prayer, I've got a diagnosis 00:16:19.659 --> 00:16:22.059 of cancer or a heart condition, whatever it might 00:16:22.059 --> 00:16:24.340 be, I like to stop them first and say, okay, 00:16:24.419 --> 00:16:27.220 now before we pray, do you believe that God is 00:16:27.220 --> 00:16:29.139 the healer, that Jesus is the healer and that 00:16:29.139 --> 00:16:31.500 the Holy Spirit will move on you and you'll receive 00:16:31.500 --> 00:16:33.440 this healing? And sometimes they look at me and 00:16:33.440 --> 00:16:36.740 say, I hope so or yeah, maybe well we have to 00:16:36.740 --> 00:16:38.899 stop for a moment and talk about that now and 00:16:38.899 --> 00:16:41.379 I'll give them this scripture and tell them that 00:16:41.379 --> 00:16:44.139 the spiritual gift is given to each of us of 00:16:44.139 --> 00:16:46.259 course so that we can help other people and that 00:16:46.259 --> 00:16:48.840 the same spirit gives forth great faith and gives 00:16:48.840 --> 00:16:50.799 healings and miracles and that's in the Word 00:16:50.799 --> 00:16:52.580 of God. Do you believe the Word of God? And they'll 00:16:52.580 --> 00:16:54.440 say, well, yeah. Well, then that Word of God 00:16:54.440 --> 00:16:56.299 applies to you. Do you believe that? And they'll 00:16:56.299 --> 00:16:58.639 say, yeah. Are you going to set aside your 00:17:36.329 --> 00:17:38.750 fear, your doubt, your questions, your anxiety, 00:17:39.230 --> 00:17:42.150 and just simply be willing to yield to the Holy 00:17:42.150 --> 00:17:44.069 Spirit? So the big question 00:18:32.049 --> 00:18:34.289 then is are you willing to yield to the Holy 00:18:34.289 --> 00:18:37.029 Spirit so that you then can receive power from 00:18:37.029 --> 00:18:40.630 him to work miracles and healings. Now that's 00:18:40.630 --> 00:18:42.950 a big question I know that and I and I know that 00:18:42.950 --> 00:18:45.990 a lot of people a little bit shaken up a little 00:18:45.990 --> 00:18:48.089 bit from that sometimes but I think it's so important 00:18:48.089 --> 00:18:51.869 to realize that that Peter and Paul, I believe, 00:18:52.049 --> 00:18:54.730 had questions and doubts about could they be 00:18:54.730 --> 00:18:57.009 used for that same operation. But when they had 00:18:57.009 --> 00:18:58.849 that encounter with the Holy Spirit, when they 00:18:58.849 --> 00:19:00.650 had that encounter with the power of the Living 00:19:00.650 --> 00:19:03.970 God, they realized that, yes, they can receive 00:19:03.970 --> 00:19:07.329 that gift. Because Jesus spoke to Peter and told 00:19:07.329 --> 00:19:09.950 him, you'll do great works, you'll do greater 00:19:09.950 --> 00:19:11.950 works than I've even done. And so basically, 00:19:12.069 --> 00:19:13.890 they were prepared and ready, but they were only 00:19:13.890 --> 00:19:16.329 prepared because they yielded to the power of 00:19:16.329 --> 00:19:20.849 the Holy Spirit. we need to yield in trust and 00:19:20.849 --> 00:19:23.849 believe. Jesus asked those who needed healing 00:19:23.849 --> 00:19:26.869 a question. And this is a question, I kind of 00:19:26.869 --> 00:19:29.250 switched gears a little bit here, but Jesus asked 00:19:29.250 --> 00:19:32.660 people who needed healing just a few words. And 00:19:32.660 --> 00:19:35.180 we need to ask people the same words when they 00:19:35.180 --> 00:19:37.880 come up to us and ask for prayer. It's so important 00:19:37.880 --> 00:19:40.799 that as I get closer to closing out this particular 00:19:40.799 --> 00:19:43.980 podcast, I want to be sure that we understand 00:19:43.980 --> 00:19:46.799 that Jesus asked people a question that we can 00:19:46.799 --> 00:19:50.180 ask people today. What do you want me to do? 00:19:50.859 --> 00:19:52.940 It's in the Word of God, and he's asked people 00:19:52.940 --> 00:19:54.980 specifically, what is it that you want? What 00:19:54.980 --> 00:19:56.920 do you need? What do you want me to do? Now, 00:19:56.920 --> 00:19:59.119 he knew what they needed. He knew what they had, 00:19:59.160 --> 00:20:02.359 but... but he wanted them to ask him directly 00:20:02.359 --> 00:20:04.839 and that way they know they would know that their 00:20:04.839 --> 00:20:07.380 source was him and that the power of God was 00:20:07.380 --> 00:20:09.460 there. Now some people he asked that for people 00:20:09.460 --> 00:20:12.039 that weren't even saved and people had not really 00:20:12.039 --> 00:20:13.940 made a commitment to Christ yet and because of 00:20:13.940 --> 00:20:16.339 their healing they totally made a commitment 00:20:16.339 --> 00:20:18.319 to Christ and their lives were radically changed. 00:20:18.440 --> 00:20:20.920 Let me give you a couple examples of when Jesus 00:20:20.920 --> 00:20:23.099 was faced with someone that needed healing and 00:20:23.099 --> 00:20:25.259 he said, what do you want me to do? It's in Mark 00:20:25.259 --> 00:20:28.720 chapter 10 verse 51. Jesus asked a blind man, 00:20:28.799 --> 00:20:31.440 what do you want me to do and then the man was 00:20:31.440 --> 00:20:35.359 healed and then in Luke 18 41 Jesus asked a blind 00:20:35.359 --> 00:20:38.140 man what do you want me to do and he was healed 00:20:38.140 --> 00:20:41.079 now some people say that's just a the same healing 00:20:41.079 --> 00:20:44.400 just by quoted by Mark and by Luke, and I believe 00:20:44.400 --> 00:20:48.119 it most likely is, but I can just picture Jesus 00:20:48.119 --> 00:20:50.740 going around through the crowd. They didn't record 00:20:50.740 --> 00:20:53.039 every single thing that Jesus ever said. They 00:20:53.039 --> 00:20:55.279 didn't record every single words that he said 00:20:55.279 --> 00:20:57.099 to people as he went through the crowd. They 00:20:57.099 --> 00:20:59.299 couldn't. Our Bible would have a million pages 00:20:59.299 --> 00:21:02.000 in it, but the bottom line of it is they recorded 00:21:02.000 --> 00:21:04.160 enough and put enough down so that we would have 00:21:04.160 --> 00:21:06.559 the confidence in the Word of God to believe 00:21:06.559 --> 00:21:09.079 that those... things will be even taking place 00:21:09.079 --> 00:21:11.940 to this day. But Jesus went around and went around 00:21:11.940 --> 00:21:14.240 and went around and went around asking people, 00:21:14.599 --> 00:21:16.900 what do you want me to do? And they were healed. 00:21:17.119 --> 00:21:20.160 In Matthew 20 verse 32, Jesus said, what do you 00:21:20.160 --> 00:21:23.319 want me to do? And once again, healing came forth. 00:21:23.359 --> 00:21:26.099 So I hope that you understand what I'm trying 00:21:26.099 --> 00:21:29.519 to say. What I'm really trying to explain is 00:21:29.519 --> 00:21:32.079 that we've got to remember that Jesus walked 00:21:32.079 --> 00:21:35.119 this earth and he walked and faced thousands 00:21:35.119 --> 00:21:38.789 of people. And how many did he heal? We only 00:21:38.789 --> 00:21:41.069 have a certain number. I don't know the exact 00:21:41.069 --> 00:21:43.109 number in the Bible where showed where Jesus 00:21:43.109 --> 00:21:45.829 healed people, but there were far more than that. 00:21:45.829 --> 00:21:49.380 I mean great crowds gathered and And they were 00:21:49.380 --> 00:21:52.019 all healed. When people came and just got near 00:21:52.019 --> 00:21:54.359 him, they were healed. The one woman just touched 00:21:54.359 --> 00:21:56.460 the hem of his garment, just simply the edge 00:21:56.460 --> 00:21:59.279 of his clothing that he had on. And because of 00:21:59.279 --> 00:22:01.480 her faith and because Jesus said that something 00:22:01.480 --> 00:22:04.200 has gone from me, healing power went from him 00:22:04.200 --> 00:22:07.259 into her and she was healed of an issue of blood 00:22:07.259 --> 00:22:09.500 that she had had, bleeding that she had had, 00:22:09.819 --> 00:22:11.660 that she had done everything she could to get 00:22:11.660 --> 00:22:14.299 it cared for. But when she touched the hem of 00:22:14.299 --> 00:22:17.140 his garment, She was instantly healed. And so 00:22:17.140 --> 00:22:19.720 we've got to believe that those things can happen 00:22:19.720 --> 00:22:21.880 and will happen to this day. And so I'm just 00:22:21.880 --> 00:22:23.920 going to, I think I kind of like want to commission 00:22:23.920 --> 00:22:26.579 all of you out there who are listening to this 00:22:26.579 --> 00:22:29.099 podcast today, that you can go forth. And Lord, so Father, as we make 00:22:52.759 --> 00:22:54.920 this assignment to those who want to step out 00:22:54.920 --> 00:22:57.500 and believe that, first of all, that the Holy 00:22:57.500 --> 00:22:59.500 Spirit would give them greater faith, greater 00:22:59.500 --> 00:23:01.519 faith than they have now. We all need that. including 00:23:01.519 --> 00:23:03.779 myself, that we'll have greater faith to believe 00:23:03.779 --> 00:23:05.619 and to trust God no matter how difficult the 00:23:05.619 --> 00:23:08.559 situation is, no matter how negative it looks, 00:23:08.660 --> 00:23:11.460 we can believe for divine healing and an intervention 00:23:11.460 --> 00:23:13.740 of the Holy Spirit. So Father, I believe for 00:23:13.740 --> 00:23:17.000 that and I ask it in Jesus' name. So I'm gonna 00:23:17.000 --> 00:23:18.660 have to wrap this up and close it up. I'm running 00:23:18.660 --> 00:23:22.200 out of time, but I just pray in Jesus' name for 00:23:22.200 --> 00:23:25.380 an outpouring of the Spirit of God and that the 00:23:25.380 --> 00:23:27.160 anointing of the Holy Spirit would come upon 00:23:27.160 --> 00:23:29.319 followers of the Lord Jesus Christ.
