For 00:03:02.259 --> 00:03:05.689 all who are led by the Spirit of God, our sons 00:03:05.689 --> 00:03:07.870 of God, which simply means, now that sons also 00:03:07.870 --> 00:03:10.150 means believers, it means anyone who's a follower 00:03:10.150 --> 00:03:12.990 of Jesus Christ. We had a little boy 00:03:44.610 --> 00:03:46.909 and after several years of marriage our marriage 00:03:46.909 --> 00:03:48.909 was okay. We were getting along just fine and 00:03:48.909 --> 00:03:51.550 all that but I was really motivated. My career, 00:03:51.569 --> 00:03:54.389 my work was number one in my life. I wasn't a 00:03:54.389 --> 00:03:56.669 follower of Jesus Christ. I had a wonderful wife. 00:03:56.669 --> 00:04:00.270 We've been married now for 58 years and God has 00:04:00.270 --> 00:04:02.590 blessed our years together. And just to stop 00:04:02.590 --> 00:04:05.259 and think that what the Holy Spirit did for us 00:04:05.259 --> 00:04:07.979 and what the devil wanted to do to us. I'm so 00:04:07.979 --> 00:04:09.860 thankful that when I became a follower of Jesus 00:04:09.860 --> 00:04:12.840 Christ that the Holy Spirit told me to deny self 00:04:12.840 --> 00:04:17.019 and to serve God. All human nature is founded 00:04:17.310 --> 00:04:20.769 on self. It's focused totally on self. Now as 00:04:20.769 --> 00:04:24.310 a new creation, I was forgiven of my sins. Those 00:04:24.310 --> 00:04:27.470 sins would never be charged against me again. 00:04:27.709 --> 00:04:30.370 In 2 Corinthians chapter 6 and verse 17, listen 00:04:30.370 --> 00:04:32.990 to the scripture. Therefore, if anyone is in 00:04:32.990 --> 00:04:34.949 Christ, that means anyone who is a follower of 00:04:34.949 --> 00:04:37.410 the Lord Jesus Christ, it says, therefore if 00:04:37.410 --> 00:04:40.889 anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come. 00:04:41.069 --> 00:04:44.850 The old is gone. The new is here. That's just 00:04:44.850 --> 00:04:47.459 glorious. I thank God for that. new creation 00:04:47.459 --> 00:04:49.480 that He made each and every one of us. One of my favorite 00:06:55.290 --> 00:06:57.829 scriptures on the subject of the Holy Spirit 00:06:57.829 --> 00:07:01.629 leading us into peace is Galatians chapter 5 00:07:01.629 --> 00:07:04.430 in verse 16. In the New International Version 00:07:04.430 --> 00:07:07.750 it says this, so I say walk by the Spirit and 00:07:07.750 --> 00:07:10.750 you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 00:07:10.990 --> 00:07:13.089 Well, that's pretty direct, isn't it? Pretty 00:07:13.089 --> 00:07:15.110 exacting that we know exactly what that scripture 00:07:15.110 --> 00:07:17.290 is telling us and it's giving us the guidance 00:07:17.290 --> 00:07:19.269 and the direction that we need. Now see in my 00:07:19.269 --> 00:07:22.189 introduction I said that we must read the scriptures 00:07:22.189 --> 00:07:24.389 and find out what scriptures make a big difference 00:07:24.389 --> 00:07:27.449 in our lives and that we need to be led by the 00:07:27.449 --> 00:07:29.290 Holy Spirit and that's what these scriptures 00:07:29.290 --> 00:07:31.829 I believe will help you to do is to know how 00:07:31.829 --> 00:07:34.350 to be led by the Spirit of God and be led into 00:07:34.350 --> 00:07:36.449 peace. Here's another scripture found in Romans 00:07:36.449 --> 00:07:39.430 chapter 5 verse 1 in the New International Version. 00:07:39.850 --> 00:07:42.509 Therefore since we have been justified through 00:07:42.509 --> 00:07:45.560 faith we have peace with God through our Lord 00:07:45.560 --> 00:07:47.500 Jesus Christ. You see, it's already happened. 00:07:47.819 --> 00:07:49.420 A lot of people say, well, okay, now I became 00:07:49.420 --> 00:07:51.040 a Christian, now I'm waiting for peace to come. 00:07:51.079 --> 00:07:53.639 No, no, peace can come right then. You can receive 00:07:53.639 --> 00:07:55.540 the peace of God that passes all understanding 00:07:55.540 --> 00:07:58.040 right when you receive Jesus as your Lord and 00:07:58.040 --> 00:08:00.000 Savior. And if you've not received that peace 00:08:00.000 --> 00:08:02.000 or if you've gotten away from that peace, I pray 00:08:02.000 --> 00:08:04.800 that this podcast will help you to receive the 00:08:04.800 --> 00:08:07.300 peace that we all want to have in our life. I pray that God, the 00:08:23.699 --> 00:08:27.000 source of hope, will fill you completely with 00:08:27.000 --> 00:08:30.220 joy and peace because you trust in him. You see, 00:08:30.480 --> 00:08:32.879 we can only have peace when we have faith and 00:08:32.879 --> 00:08:36.000 trust in God. Faith is crucial to peace. And 00:08:36.000 --> 00:08:39.080 trust is crucial to having peace because if we're 00:08:39.080 --> 00:08:41.220 struggling and we don't have peace it could be 00:08:41.220 --> 00:08:43.419 it just could be that you're just not trusting 00:08:43.419 --> 00:08:45.500 the Lord you're not having your confidence in 00:08:45.500 --> 00:08:48.059 the Lord or putting your your hope and your strength 00:08:48.059 --> 00:08:50.899 and all of your your faith into your walk with 00:08:50.899 --> 00:08:52.960 God in your relationship with the Lord Jesus 00:08:52.960 --> 00:08:55.480 Christ and Living with the power of the Holy 00:08:55.480 --> 00:08:57.759 Spirit in your life So I just pray that those 00:08:57.759 --> 00:08:59.899 of you matter fact I need to stop right now once 00:08:59.899 --> 00:09:02.100 again the Holy Spirit's checking me and I need 00:09:02.100 --> 00:09:04.279 to pray for those who are struggling for peace 00:09:04.399 --> 00:09:06.139 Father, for those who are listening in right 00:09:06.139 --> 00:09:08.279 now, I pray that you would bring peace in their 00:09:08.279 --> 00:09:10.120 life. Father, in either case, if they're 00:09:18.049 --> 00:09:20.110 a new Christian or they've been Christians for 00:09:20.110 --> 00:09:22.710 years, I pray that they would trust you and believe 00:09:22.710 --> 00:09:25.509 in your word and follow your word and seek your 00:09:25.509 --> 00:09:28.090 face and that they would be led by the Spirit 00:09:28.090 --> 00:09:29.970 of the Living God and claim these scriptures 00:09:29.970 --> 00:09:32.309 in their life. Father, I believe that each and 00:09:32.309 --> 00:09:34.169 every person struggling with peace right now 00:09:34.169 --> 00:09:36.809 would say what the scripture says in Galatians 00:09:36.809 --> 00:09:41.429 5 verse 16. So I say walk by the Spirit and you 00:09:41.429 --> 00:09:45.250 will not gratify the desires of the flesh. Galatians chapter 5 verse 17, the New International 00:10:22.379 --> 00:10:25.399 Version says this, For the flesh desires what 00:10:25.399 --> 00:10:28.340 is contrary to the spirit, and the spirit what 00:10:28.340 --> 00:10:31.639 is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict 00:10:31.639 --> 00:10:35.539 with each other so that you are not to do whatever 00:10:35.539 --> 00:10:37.879 you want. You see, there's a conflict going on. 00:10:37.879 --> 00:10:40.019 There's a battle every single day in our minds, 00:10:40.100 --> 00:10:41.980 in our hearts, in our minds about what to do, 00:10:41.980 --> 00:10:43.480 whether it's the right thing to do or the wrong 00:10:43.480 --> 00:10:45.799 thing to do. It might be the way we respond to 00:10:45.799 --> 00:10:47.840 somebody. It might be the way we're driving to 00:10:47.840 --> 00:10:49.799 work and someone cuts in front of us and we say 00:10:49.799 --> 00:10:51.879 something we shouldn't say and we maybe yell 00:10:51.879 --> 00:10:54.100 at them or lay on the horn really heavy or something 00:10:54.100 --> 00:10:56.200 like that. That's not going to solve the problem. 00:10:56.480 --> 00:10:58.720 In order to have peace that's led by the Holy 00:10:58.720 --> 00:11:01.139 Spirit, we need to surrender to the Holy Spirit 00:11:01.139 --> 00:11:04.679 and deny the self that's in us, the self that 00:11:04.679 --> 00:11:06.980 drags us down and tells us to do whatever we 00:11:06.980 --> 00:11:09.220 want to do. There's people who live their whole 00:11:09.220 --> 00:11:11.759 life basically saying, I'll do things the way 00:11:11.759 --> 00:11:13.870 I want to do them. I'll do them my way. And it's 00:11:13.870 --> 00:11:16.029 all about their decisions and what they think 00:11:16.029 --> 00:11:18.690 is best. And they're denying the power, the potential 00:11:18.690 --> 00:11:20.789 power of the Holy Spirit in their life. So I 00:11:20.789 --> 00:11:23.029 pray that each and every one of us, myself included, 00:11:23.210 --> 00:11:25.750 would focus on being led by the Spirit of God 00:11:25.750 --> 00:11:28.490 so we can have greater peace in our life. Now, 00:11:28.629 --> 00:11:32.590 let me tackle another area. What is Holy Spirit 00:11:32.590 --> 00:11:34.789 -led peace? What does that really mean? Well, 00:11:34.789 --> 00:11:37.649 it's peace that surpasses our understanding. 00:11:37.730 --> 00:11:39.629 Now, that's kind of an interesting way to put 00:11:39.629 --> 00:11:42.809 it. It's really a great way to express express 00:11:42.809 --> 00:11:44.750 what peace is because we have peace sometimes 00:11:44.750 --> 00:11:46.889 in situations where a lot of people think we 00:11:46.889 --> 00:11:48.789 wouldn't have peace or maybe we feel we wouldn't 00:11:48.789 --> 00:11:50.509 have peace. Let me give you an example. When 00:11:50.509 --> 00:11:53.570 the Holy Spirit called my wife and I into ministry, 00:11:53.669 --> 00:11:55.649 he first called me and I shared that with my 00:11:55.649 --> 00:11:57.710 wife and she was so excited. She wanted to go 00:11:57.710 --> 00:11:59.710 into ministry. She was ready and willing and 00:11:59.710 --> 00:12:02.529 able and we went into ministry totally in agreement 00:12:02.529 --> 00:12:05.570 and both of us trying to deny self so we could 00:12:05.570 --> 00:12:08.049 move forward. At the time we owned a real estate 00:12:08.049 --> 00:12:09.730 development company. It was doing very well. 00:12:09.789 --> 00:12:12.299 Matter of fact, I was on vacation when The Holy 00:12:12.299 --> 00:12:14.500 Spirit called me to go into full -time ministry. 00:12:14.679 --> 00:12:17.340 It had been a very successful business for over 00:12:17.340 --> 00:12:19.379 15 years. And I'm not boasting, I'm just trying 00:12:19.379 --> 00:12:21.799 to tell you that the Lord came in and said, I've 00:12:21.799 --> 00:12:24.080 got something better for you than what this is. 00:12:24.340 --> 00:12:26.940 It was doing really well. It was a very, very quick read. And we've been now attending that 00:19:48.900 --> 00:19:52.579 church for some 20, 28 years. and still pastoring 00:19:52.579 --> 00:19:54.980 there. We senior pastored it for about the first 00:19:54.980 --> 00:19:58.420 18 years and then we turned it over to another 00:19:58.420 --> 00:20:01.740 group that we know very well and the church is 00:20:01.740 --> 00:20:03.799 still moving along for the glory of God. You 00:20:03.799 --> 00:20:06.059 see, peace that I'm talking about, it's peace 00:20:06.059 --> 00:20:09.400 that is opposite of what our flesh wants. I know many of 00:21:01.160 --> 00:21:03.400 you who listen to me have heard me say this before, 00:21:03.400 --> 00:21:05.279 but there's some new listeners today that I'd 00:21:05.279 --> 00:21:07.160 like for them to hear this. When I was diagnosed 00:21:07.160 --> 00:21:10.769 with multiple myeloma bone marrow cancer no cure 00:21:10.769 --> 00:21:13.289 for it not expected to live all that long that 00:21:13.289 --> 00:21:16.430 one doctor said you know Possibly only six months 00:21:16.430 --> 00:21:19.470 as maybe as all did you have yet to live and 00:21:19.470 --> 00:21:21.609 when I heard that word Instantly the Holy Spirit 00:21:21.609 --> 00:21:24.089 had me tell him so you're trying to scare me 00:21:24.089 --> 00:21:26.089 with heaven now. If it is 00:22:32.009 --> 00:22:35.529 possible, as far as it depends on you, live at 00:22:35.529 --> 00:22:37.849 peace with everyone. You know, that means we 00:22:37.849 --> 00:22:40.829 can live at peace no matter what we face, the 00:22:40.829 --> 00:22:42.809 trials, whatever it might be. Even if you're 00:22:42.809 --> 00:22:45.569 having major battles with people, we can still 00:22:45.569 --> 00:22:48.529 live at peace, as much as it depends with us. 00:22:48.529 --> 00:22:51.170 And it depends in us based upon our walk with 00:22:51.170 --> 00:22:53.490 God and our relationship with the Holy Spirit, 00:22:53.569 --> 00:22:55.930 who is the giver of peace.
