But listen to this, the 00:01:43.040 --> 00:01:46.219 Holy Spirit, now he wants us to truly believe 00:01:46.219 --> 00:01:49.680 in our heart, in our mind, in our soul for miracles, 00:01:49.900 --> 00:01:52.519 for the miracle of healings, for having greater 00:01:52.519 --> 00:01:55.420 faith and to live a life that's an overcoming 00:01:55.420 --> 00:01:58.000 life, not a just get by life, but an overcoming 00:01:58.000 --> 00:02:00.700 life, a life that's filled with abundant living 00:02:00.700 --> 00:02:04.870 more than... even a conqueror's life. I tell 00:02:04.870 --> 00:02:07.370 you, that's the kind of Holy Spirit that we enjoy 00:02:07.370 --> 00:02:10.550 and who lives and dwells inside of each and every 00:02:10.550 --> 00:02:12.710 believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. Now, John 00:02:12.710 --> 00:02:15.550 writes about the Holy Spirit. He writes these 00:02:15.550 --> 00:02:19.610 words of Jesus found in John chapter 16, verse 00:02:19.610 --> 00:02:22.750 13 in the New Living Translation. And we'll go 00:02:22.750 --> 00:02:24.370 through this kind of slowly because I really 00:02:24.370 --> 00:02:26.229 want to take my time on this particular scripture. 00:02:26.310 --> 00:02:28.550 I think it kind of builds a foundation for this 00:02:28.550 --> 00:02:30.909 particular podcast. These are the words of Jesus. 00:02:31.370 --> 00:02:34.349 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide 00:02:34.349 --> 00:02:36.830 you into all truth. Now he's talking to his disciples 00:02:36.830 --> 00:02:38.569 and he's telling them that the Holy Spirit is 00:02:38.569 --> 00:02:40.770 coming. Remember, shortly he's going to tell 00:02:40.770 --> 00:02:43.569 them that when he leaves, it's best that he leaves 00:02:43.569 --> 00:02:45.370 because when he leaves, the Holy Spirit is coming 00:02:45.370 --> 00:02:47.310 to help them and to be the comforter and their 00:02:47.310 --> 00:02:49.210 advocate and one that will carry them through 00:02:49.210 --> 00:02:51.490 life. But Jesus is saying here, when the Spirit 00:02:51.490 --> 00:02:53.669 of truth comes, that's the Holy Spirit, he will 00:02:53.669 --> 00:02:57.250 guide you into all truth. Now that's one of the 00:02:57.250 --> 00:02:59.189 most beautiful things about the Holy Spirit is 00:02:59.189 --> 00:03:01.569 that he always delivers the truth. Sometimes 00:03:01.569 --> 00:03:03.729 it may be something we're not comfortable with 00:03:03.729 --> 00:03:05.490 or something that maybe we think we'd rather 00:03:05.490 --> 00:03:07.789 not go that direction. But when it's the leading 00:03:07.789 --> 00:03:11.530 of the Holy Spirit, it is always pure truth from 00:03:11.530 --> 00:03:14.949 our God. Jesus goes on to say, he will not speak 00:03:14.949 --> 00:03:18.550 on his own, but will tell you what he has heard. 00:03:18.710 --> 00:03:20.650 Isn't that interesting? Jesus said he's not going 00:03:20.650 --> 00:03:23.090 to be talking on his own. He's going to be sharing 00:03:23.090 --> 00:03:25.310 you what he's heard from God the Father. He says 00:03:25.310 --> 00:03:28.879 he will tell you about your future. No wonder 00:03:28.879 --> 00:03:30.500 we need to communicate with the Holy Spirit, 00:03:30.560 --> 00:03:32.240 huh? I think a lot of people would like to know 00:03:32.240 --> 00:03:33.879 their future. They like to know what's going 00:03:33.879 --> 00:03:35.840 to happen. Maybe they're dating someone, wondering 00:03:35.840 --> 00:03:37.719 if it's going to turn into a marriage. Some are 00:03:37.719 --> 00:03:39.740 maybe just starting a church and wondering how 00:03:39.740 --> 00:03:41.800 this church is going to go. Some have just got 00:03:41.800 --> 00:03:44.159 a new job. Some have just recently gotten married. 00:03:44.340 --> 00:03:46.919 Some have just started dating. And all the things 00:03:46.919 --> 00:03:49.419 that we're taking into our life, they all have 00:03:49.419 --> 00:03:51.500 a future. The Holy Spirit, though, will tell 00:03:51.500 --> 00:03:54.080 us about our future. Now, that doesn't mean he's 00:03:54.080 --> 00:03:56.780 a fortune teller. Not at all. That is satanic. 00:03:57.740 --> 00:04:00.819 Spirit has is he has the same wisdom that God 00:04:00.819 --> 00:04:02.699 the Father has because he receives all of his 00:04:02.699 --> 00:04:05.020 wisdom from God the Father. And remember what 00:04:05.020 --> 00:04:07.500 it says is he will tell you what he has heard 00:04:07.500 --> 00:04:10.400 and he will tell you about your future. So therefore, 00:04:10.520 --> 00:04:13.219 God has a plan for all of us in our future and 00:04:13.219 --> 00:04:15.500 the Holy Spirit will reveal that truth as we 00:04:15.500 --> 00:04:18.600 live our life. He will bring me, Jesus is talking, 00:04:18.720 --> 00:04:20.339 so he's saying he's talking about himself, he 00:04:20.339 --> 00:04:24.379 will bring me glory by telling you whatever he 00:04:24.379 --> 00:04:26.899 receives from me. Once again, 00:05:02.459 --> 00:05:04.860 Jesus is trying to remind them the Spirit of 00:05:04.860 --> 00:05:08.740 God is being left to them to come and live and 00:05:08.740 --> 00:05:11.019 dwell inside of each and every believer. And 00:05:11.019 --> 00:05:14.060 therefore, we have a direct connection with Almighty 00:05:14.060 --> 00:05:16.420 God. We have a direct connection through the 00:05:16.420 --> 00:05:19.000 Holy Spirit to the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. 00:05:19.420 --> 00:05:21.740 And if we yield to Him and surrender to Him and 00:05:21.740 --> 00:05:23.819 ask for His guidance and direction in our life, 00:05:23.920 --> 00:05:26.439 He will be more than happy to reveal that to 00:05:26.439 --> 00:05:28.509 us. Now, sometimes He reveals that to us by telling 00:05:28.509 --> 00:05:31.259 us no. or telling us not now, or telling us maybe 00:05:31.259 --> 00:05:33.180 there's something else you should do. You know, 00:05:33.220 --> 00:05:35.319 I've made a lot of decisions in my life that 00:05:35.319 --> 00:05:37.180 I wished I'd have spent more time waiting on 00:05:37.180 --> 00:05:39.199 the Holy Spirit. And I've made a lot of decisions 00:05:39.199 --> 00:05:41.879 in my life where I waited upon the Holy Spirit 00:05:41.879 --> 00:05:44.899 and those decisions always turned out to be right. 00:05:45.040 --> 00:05:46.980 In business, when we had our home building business, 00:05:47.100 --> 00:05:49.420 we would go out to build properties and buy a 00:05:49.420 --> 00:05:52.319 lot of property to build a house on. And we would 00:05:52.319 --> 00:05:54.439 spend a lot of time in research and all that 00:05:54.439 --> 00:05:56.360 good stuff to know exactly what to do. And when 00:05:56.360 --> 00:05:58.740 I followed the directions that I felt, in my 00:05:58.740 --> 00:06:01.579 heart and my mind, which those feelings and those 00:06:01.579 --> 00:06:04.220 thoughts come from the Holy Spirit. I knew that 00:06:04.220 --> 00:06:06.079 we were on track to do the right thing. But when 00:06:06.079 --> 00:06:08.300 I did things on my own and said things like, 00:06:08.379 --> 00:06:10.259 oh, this is just, we don't need to worry about 00:06:10.259 --> 00:06:12.740 this one or we don't need to be concerned about 00:06:12.740 --> 00:06:14.899 that. This is what we call a no brainer. We just 00:06:14.899 --> 00:06:17.139 do this when it'll all work out okay. When I 00:06:17.139 --> 00:06:19.699 thought that way, it usually turned out to be 00:06:19.699 --> 00:06:22.000 a problem. But when I waited on the Holy Spirit 00:06:22.000 --> 00:06:24.920 and waited to hear his peace. People say, how 00:06:24.920 --> 00:06:26.300 do you know that you're hearing from the Holy 00:06:26.300 --> 00:06:28.160 Spirit? Well, I believe you're hearing from the 00:06:28.160 --> 00:06:30.040 Holy Spirit when you have peace about something. 00:06:30.220 --> 00:06:32.120 Because, you know, Paul talked about that, that 00:06:32.120 --> 00:06:34.079 we can receive the peace of God that passes all 00:06:34.079 --> 00:06:36.560 understanding, that'll guard our heart and mind 00:06:36.560 --> 00:06:39.079 in Christ Jesus. That's how we know that we're 00:06:39.079 --> 00:06:41.180 on the right track with the Holy Spirit, is that 00:06:41.180 --> 00:06:43.139 we have peace. Now, if we don't have peace about 00:06:43.139 --> 00:06:45.360 something, we should run from it. We should get 00:06:45.360 --> 00:06:47.439 away from it. We should not try and force it, 00:06:47.480 --> 00:06:50.199 not manipulate it, try and make it happen. We 00:06:50.199 --> 00:06:53.259 should hold off, back off, and wait upon the 00:06:53.259 --> 00:06:55.199 Lord. tell us the right time. It's like when 00:06:55.199 --> 00:06:58.970 we pastor the church for... Seven years, we held 00:06:58.970 --> 00:07:00.910 a piece of land that the Lord allowed us to buy. 00:07:01.069 --> 00:07:02.870 We were able to pay for it. It was completely 00:07:02.870 --> 00:07:04.949 paid off. Our new church was only a couple years 00:07:04.949 --> 00:07:07.129 old. We had this beautiful piece of land and 00:07:07.129 --> 00:07:09.410 I wanted so bad to build a church on it. And 00:07:09.410 --> 00:07:11.149 I kept thinking, Lord, tell me when, let me know 00:07:11.149 --> 00:07:13.329 when. The church was growing and prospering. 00:07:13.370 --> 00:07:15.910 The income was really increasing. The attendance 00:07:15.910 --> 00:07:18.509 was going up hundreds of people every month. 00:07:18.610 --> 00:07:21.189 It was amazing. We went from 30 or 40 people 00:07:21.189 --> 00:07:23.990 in a year to about 1 ,000. And then in two years, 00:07:24.029 --> 00:07:26.889 we had 2 ,000. And it's just amazing. to think 00:07:26.889 --> 00:07:29.670 how God was moving. But I was holding off on 00:07:29.670 --> 00:07:32.810 building that building until I felt peace in 00:07:32.810 --> 00:07:34.970 my heart that the Holy Spirit said, now's the 00:07:34.970 --> 00:07:38.089 time. It's interesting. It took seven years after 00:07:38.089 --> 00:07:40.329 we bought the land where finally the Holy Spirit 00:07:40.329 --> 00:07:42.970 gave me that peace one morning at church. And 00:07:42.970 --> 00:07:44.709 I told the board and I told the congregation, 00:07:44.790 --> 00:07:47.410 I believe the Holy Spirit spoke to me this morning. 00:07:48.360 --> 00:07:50.360 Now is the time for us to move forward and build. 00:07:50.519 --> 00:07:52.600 And you know, when we started building, everything 00:07:52.600 --> 00:07:55.180 went together just perfectly. And we learn 00:08:15.379 --> 00:08:17.939 all those things from the Holy Spirit. it now 00:08:17.939 --> 00:08:19.160 there's another scripture i'm going to share 00:08:19.160 --> 00:08:21.639 that deals with this in first corinthians chapter 00:08:21.639 --> 00:08:24.319 12 verse 9 the apostle paul wrote these words 00:08:24.319 --> 00:08:28.670 the same spirit gives great faith. Now, I jumped 00:08:28.670 --> 00:08:30.829 from one topic to another very quickly, but I 00:08:30.829 --> 00:08:33.190 did that intentionally because I want you to 00:08:33.190 --> 00:08:35.970 realize that that's how we know we have faith 00:08:35.970 --> 00:08:38.210 to move forward in something. We can have great 00:08:38.210 --> 00:08:40.049 faith because that's where it comes from. That's 00:08:40.049 --> 00:08:41.549 a gift from the Holy Spirit. It's one of the 00:08:41.549 --> 00:08:44.070 nine power gifts of the Holy Spirit. And when 00:08:44.070 --> 00:08:46.210 we think about that kind of great faith, that 00:08:46.210 --> 00:08:49.309 great faith gives us peace. That great faith 00:08:49.309 --> 00:08:52.250 is something we learn from the Holy Spirit. Now in 00:09:43.889 --> 00:09:47.450 Hebrews chapter 11 and verse six, it says, God 00:09:47.450 --> 00:09:50.490 rewards those who seek him. Now, you know, that 00:09:50.490 --> 00:09:52.610 applies to everything that we do in our life. 00:09:52.970 --> 00:09:56.350 I'm asking this question about how can we learn 00:09:56.350 --> 00:09:57.710 from the Holy Spirit? That's what we're trying 00:09:57.710 --> 00:10:00.169 to address today. Will we learn from the Holy 00:10:00.169 --> 00:10:03.269 Spirit by seeking his guidance? And we use the 00:10:03.269 --> 00:10:05.309 word of God, Hebrews 11, six, where it tells 00:10:05.309 --> 00:10:08.570 us God rewards those who seek him. We need to 00:10:08.570 --> 00:10:11.570 spend more time seeking God. We need to spend 00:10:11.570 --> 00:10:14.529 more time seeking his will, desiring his will, 00:10:14.629 --> 00:10:17.210 wanting to know what he wants for us. We can 00:10:17.210 --> 00:10:19.629 learn that as the Holy Spirit who dwells inside 00:10:19.629 --> 00:10:22.330 of us will share secret thoughts and private 00:10:22.330 --> 00:10:24.870 thoughts to us. and give us that feeling, that 00:10:24.870 --> 00:10:27.250 sense of power that we know that this is the 00:10:27.250 --> 00:10:30.350 right thing to do. In Jeremiah 29, verse 13, 00:10:30.429 --> 00:10:32.490 it says this, the New Living Translation, it 00:10:32.490 --> 00:10:36.129 tells us that if you look for me wholeheartedly, 00:10:36.129 --> 00:10:39.549 you will find me. So, number two in how we learn 00:10:39.549 --> 00:10:41.289 from the Holy Spirit is the Holy Spirit wants 00:10:41.289 --> 00:10:44.710 us to seek His guidance. We saw Hebrews 11, 6, 00:10:44.809 --> 00:10:47.870 so draw near to God, seek Him. And then in Jeremiah 00:10:47.870 --> 00:10:51.309 in the Old Testament, 29 .13, it tells us, if 00:10:51.309 --> 00:10:54.230 you look for me wholeheartedly, that means totally 00:10:54.230 --> 00:10:57.250 and completely with every single part of us, 00:10:57.330 --> 00:11:00.230 you will find me. Wholeheartedly is an interesting 00:11:00.230 --> 00:11:03.789 word. Wholeheartedly means absolute 100 % commitment 00:11:03.789 --> 00:11:06.679 to listening. and waiting on that still, quiet 00:11:06.679 --> 00:11:09.159 voice from God. Having Him speak to us through 00:11:09.159 --> 00:11:11.720 a sermon or speak to us through a song or speak 00:11:11.720 --> 00:11:15.080 to us through reading His Word or speak to us 00:11:15.080 --> 00:11:17.159 during a time of prayer or just a conversation 00:11:17.159 --> 00:11:19.940 with someone else. He will speak to us, but we've 00:11:19.940 --> 00:11:23.960 got to seek Him. One God, three distinct characteristics 00:11:51.740 --> 00:11:55.000 or personalities, if you will. a specific person. 00:11:55.159 --> 00:11:57.639 God created the heavens and the earth, but Jesus 00:11:57.639 --> 00:11:59.820 was there for that, and the Holy Spirit was there 00:11:59.820 --> 00:12:01.799 for that. And all the way through the Old Testament 00:12:01.799 --> 00:12:04.019 and through the New Testament, we hear about 00:12:04.019 --> 00:12:06.100 God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy 00:12:06.100 --> 00:12:09.200 Spirit. We went there on a 00:13:22.019 --> 00:13:25.120 Sunday and they had like six or seven services 00:13:25.120 --> 00:13:28.460 and each service had 33 ,000 people in attendance. 00:13:28.679 --> 00:13:31.179 And each service had a completely new worship 00:13:31.179 --> 00:13:33.679 team that was there. It was the biggest mass 00:13:33.679 --> 00:13:35.940 of people I've ever seen in my life. And turn your 00:15:03.620 --> 00:15:05.940 focus on God is what it's saying. And then He 00:15:05.940 --> 00:15:08.500 will guide your path. He'll help you with your 00:15:08.500 --> 00:15:11.100 purpose for life and help you plan everything 00:15:11.100 --> 00:15:13.580 that you do. You see, that's how we know the 00:15:13.580 --> 00:15:15.860 Holy Spirit is leading us. It's through God's 00:15:15.860 --> 00:15:18.509 Word. Here's another area, number four. The Holy 00:15:18.509 --> 00:15:21.909 Spirit teaches us how to deal with anxiety and 00:15:21.909 --> 00:15:25.149 fear and worry. You see, the Bible has dozens 00:15:25.149 --> 00:15:28.250 of scriptures on anxiety, fear, worry, dozens 00:15:28.250 --> 00:15:30.470 and dozens of scriptures. And all these scriptures 00:15:30.470 --> 00:15:34.309 were instructed by the Holy Spirit. My favorite 00:15:34.309 --> 00:15:37.490 scripture on not worrying is written by the Apostle 00:15:37.490 --> 00:15:39.769 Paul. In Philippians chapter four, verses six 00:15:39.769 --> 00:15:41.870 and seven, he says, don't be anxious, he says 00:15:41.870 --> 00:15:43.809 about anything, but everything through prayer, 00:15:43.950 --> 00:15:46.440 petitions with thanksgiving. make your request 00:15:46.440 --> 00:15:48.580 be made known to God. And the peace of God that 00:15:48.580 --> 00:15:50.620 passes all understanding will guard your heart 00:15:50.620 --> 00:15:52.879 and guard your mind in Christ Jesus. That's my 00:15:52.879 --> 00:15:55.279 absolute favorite scripture on that. Here's 00:16:15.580 --> 00:16:17.799 another one of my favorites. I have a lot of 00:16:17.799 --> 00:16:19.299 favorites when it comes to scriptures, and I'm 00:16:19.299 --> 00:16:21.080 sure that if you've listened to me enough, you'll 00:16:21.080 --> 00:16:23.120 understand that I do say, here's another favorite, 00:16:23.179 --> 00:16:24.679 here's another favorite. But this particular 00:16:24.679 --> 00:16:27.440 one, helping us to trust God, is being taught 00:16:27.440 --> 00:16:29.360 to us by the Holy Spirit through the words that 00:16:29.360 --> 00:16:31.759 the Holy Spirit gave the Apostle Paul, written 00:16:31.759 --> 00:16:34.799 in Romans chapter 4 and verse 17 in the New Living 00:16:34.799 --> 00:16:37.700 Translation. Abraham believed in the God who 00:16:37.700 --> 00:16:40.820 brings the dead back to life and who creates 00:16:41.320 --> 00:16:43.740 new things out of nothing. Another way of saying 00:16:43.740 --> 00:16:46.220 is that we can learn to trust in God if we believe 00:16:46.220 --> 00:16:49.360 that God will bring forth something from nothing. 00:16:49.559 --> 00:16:53.639 And he is the one who can help us to understand 00:16:53.639 --> 00:16:56.360 and trust that if we have something that's died 00:16:56.360 --> 00:16:58.860 in our life, like maybe an idea or a business 00:16:58.860 --> 00:17:01.340 that we had or plans to go to college or a marriage 00:17:01.340 --> 00:17:04.259 fell apart, God can bring it back to life. This 00:17:04.259 --> 00:17:07.200 whole scripture in Romans chapter four has to 00:17:07.200 --> 00:17:09.579 do with Abraham. When Abraham and Sarah wanted 00:17:09.579 --> 00:17:11.980 to have children, when God told Abraham, you're 00:17:11.980 --> 00:17:13.799 going to be the father of many nations. And Abraham 00:17:13.799 --> 00:17:15.859 basically was thinking, hmm, I don't have any 00:17:15.859 --> 00:17:18.779 children. And so God said, I told you that you're 00:17:18.779 --> 00:17:20.400 going to be the father of many nations. And so 00:17:20.400 --> 00:17:22.799 then Abraham and Sarah had a child when Abraham 00:17:22.799 --> 00:17:25.519 was nearly 100 years old and she was 90 years 00:17:25.519 --> 00:17:28.940 old. Different translations vary the years by 00:17:28.940 --> 00:17:31.359 a couple, but bottom line, they're in their 90s 00:17:31.359 --> 00:17:34.759 and God allows them to get pregnant and they 00:17:34.759 --> 00:17:38.519 have this child. And Isaac came forward and Isaac 00:17:38.519 --> 00:17:41.559 was such a great, blessing and he is the one 00:17:41.559 --> 00:17:44.619 was the promise of god and abraham became through 00:17:44.619 --> 00:17:47.819 his offspring the father of many nations. And 00:17:47.819 --> 00:17:51.900 that's because the Holy Spirit back then helped 00:17:51.900 --> 00:17:54.859 Abraham to have patience and to have peace and 00:17:54.859 --> 00:17:58.720 wait on God and not have fear or anxiety or worrying 00:17:58.720 --> 00:18:01.839 and not be frustrated about things. He waited 00:18:01.839 --> 00:18:04.740 upon God to hear from God. And the Holy Spirit 00:18:04.740 --> 00:18:07.420 was really, I know he wasn't living on the earth 00:18:07.420 --> 00:18:09.779 at that time, but the Holy Spirit was alive and 00:18:09.779 --> 00:18:13.599 well. And Abraham was hearing from the Spirit 00:18:13.599 --> 00:18:15.960 of God and hearing about what he should do and 00:18:15.960 --> 00:18:17.819 how he should wait and how he should depend upon 00:18:17.819 --> 00:18:20.019 God. And when he did that, they had a child. 00:18:20.099 --> 00:18:22.720 And that child was the beginning of Abraham being 00:18:22.720 --> 00:18:24.539 the father of many nations. And that's where 00:18:24.539 --> 00:18:28.200 Paul wrote that God creates things, new things, 00:18:28.359 --> 00:18:31.059 out of nothing. All right, here's area number 00:18:31.059 --> 00:18:33.579 six on our discussion on how the Holy Spirit 00:18:33.579 --> 00:18:35.640 teaches us and how we learn from him. The Holy 00:18:35.640 --> 00:18:39.390 Spirit gives us gifts. to all believers, gifts 00:18:39.390 --> 00:18:42.730 that bless us, and those we will have an opportunity 00:18:42.730 --> 00:18:45.930 to share those gifts with. The gifts that God 00:18:45.930 --> 00:18:49.269 gives to us are for us and for us to also share 00:18:49.269 --> 00:18:51.150 and give to someone else. In 1 Corinthians 12, 00:18:51.450 --> 00:18:53.670 verse 7, New Living Translation, a spiritual 00:18:53.670 --> 00:18:56.869 gift is given to each of us so we can help each 00:18:56.869 --> 00:18:59.630 other. So the way we learn from the Holy Spirit 00:18:59.630 --> 00:19:03.109 is that we seek Him, we seek His guidance and 00:19:03.109 --> 00:19:06.230 direction, we pray and ask Him to give us wisdom 00:19:06.230 --> 00:19:09.569 and guidance and direction. We ask Jesus to help 00:19:09.569 --> 00:19:12.329 us. We pray to the Father in the name of Jesus. 00:19:12.650 --> 00:19:14.609 And while we're doing that, we can say, Holy 00:19:14.609 --> 00:19:17.670 Spirit, I need you. I want you. I need you to 00:19:17.670 --> 00:19:19.930 guide me. I need you to direct me. And some people 00:19:19.930 --> 00:19:21.230 say, well, you can't pray to the Holy Spirit. 00:19:21.329 --> 00:19:23.309 I'm not saying you pray to the Holy Spirit. I'm 00:19:23.309 --> 00:19:25.490 saying you're speaking to the Holy Spirit and 00:19:25.490 --> 00:19:27.269 you're communicating with him. After all, he 00:19:27.269 --> 00:19:29.849 lives and dwells inside of us. It should be such 00:19:29.849 --> 00:19:32.109 an easy thing, such a comfortable thing to do 00:19:32.109 --> 00:19:34.250 is to speak to the Holy Spirit and open up our 00:19:34.250 --> 00:19:36.579 hearts to receive what he has. And remember, 00:19:36.720 --> 00:19:38.420 He's the one that distributes the gifts. It's 00:19:38.420 --> 00:19:40.839 Him solely that decides who gets the various 00:19:40.839 --> 00:19:43.000 gifts that are found in the Word of God. The Holy Spirit, 00:20:07.099 --> 00:20:10.240 He brings the Scriptures to life for us. In 2 00:20:10.240 --> 00:20:13.700 Peter 1, verse 20 and 21, New Living Translation, 00:20:13.700 --> 00:20:16.319 it says this, Above all, you must realize that 00:20:16.319 --> 00:20:19.619 no prophecy in Scripture ever came from the prophet's 00:20:19.619 --> 00:20:23.109 own understanding. Verse 21, or from human initiative. 00:20:23.410 --> 00:20:27.190 No, those prophets were moved by the Spirit and 00:20:27.190 --> 00:20:30.349 they spoke from God. So remember now, we've got 00:20:30.349 --> 00:20:32.829 to understand that when we hear about people 00:20:32.829 --> 00:20:34.869 prophesying and you hear the gifts of the Spirit, 00:20:35.029 --> 00:20:37.349 they're always led by the Holy Spirit and the 00:20:37.349 --> 00:20:40.190 Holy Spirit brings scriptures to us like this 00:20:40.190 --> 00:20:43.619 one to help us. understand the relationship that 00:20:43.619 --> 00:20:45.299 he wants us to have with him. Let me give you 00:20:45.299 --> 00:20:46.880 another one that might even be a little bit more 00:20:46.880 --> 00:20:50.740 direct. 2 Timothy 3, verse 16, New Living Translation. 00:20:50.880 --> 00:20:54.880 All scripture is inspired by God and is useful 00:20:54.880 --> 00:20:57.559 to teach us what is true, listen to this, and 00:20:57.559 --> 00:21:00.440 to make us realize, listen to that, make us realize 00:21:00.440 --> 00:21:04.640 what is wrong in our lives. When we do that, God then just says, all 00:21:59.099 --> 00:22:00.440 right, I want to tell you more. It's like having 00:22:00.440 --> 00:22:02.640 a good friend. The Holy Spirit teaches us that 00:22:45.089 --> 00:22:48.730 faith has substance and is evidence. Boy, I did 00:22:48.730 --> 00:22:50.509 a whole podcast on that one, so I'm not going 00:22:50.509 --> 00:22:53.029 to spend much time on that. The Holy Spirit teaches 00:22:53.029 --> 00:22:56.470 us to have desires to live according to God's 00:22:56.470 --> 00:22:59.769 will. He helps us to know what to do and when 00:22:59.769 --> 00:23:03.390 to do it or not. to do it. He takes prayers to 00:23:03.390 --> 00:23:06.690 God and how to get great results out of our prayer 00:23:06.690 --> 00:23:09.329 life. The Holy Spirit tells us in Romans chapter 00:23:09.329 --> 00:23:12.250 8 verse 1 and 2. Once again, another one of my 00:23:12.250 --> 00:23:14.410 absolute favorite scriptures. Listen to this. 00:23:14.509 --> 00:23:17.470 Romans chapter 8 verse 1 in the New Living Translation. 00:23:17.470 --> 00:23:19.369 These are the words that the Holy Spirit gave 00:23:19.369 --> 00:23:22.609 to the Apostle Paul. So now there is no condemnation 00:23:22.609 --> 00:23:25.220 for those who belong to Christ Jesus. That's 00:23:25.220 --> 00:23:27.339 all of us. If you know Jesus Christ as your Lord 00:23:27.339 --> 00:23:29.900 and Savior, there is no condemnation anymore 00:23:29.900 --> 00:23:32.299 of your sin or your past. And also there's no 00:23:32.299 --> 00:23:34.579 condemnation on your health. I believe we can 00:23:34.579 --> 00:23:38.000 seek to live in health and to prosper in every 00:23:38.000 --> 00:23:40.000 area of our life. There's no condemnation for 00:23:40.000 --> 00:23:41.640 our marriage. There's no condemnation in our 00:23:41.640 --> 00:23:45.920 businesses or in our life, our parenting. There's 00:23:45.920 --> 00:23:48.819 just no condemnation. So I believe that. And 00:23:48.819 --> 00:23:50.960 that's because the Holy Spirit gave those words 00:23:50.960 --> 00:23:54.079 to the Apostle Paul to give to us.
