I can 00:01:32.409 --> 00:01:34.950 guarantee you through my personal experiences, 00:01:35.370 --> 00:01:37.189 through my church family and the experiences 00:01:37.189 --> 00:01:39.590 we've had for hospital visits and those people 00:01:39.590 --> 00:01:41.500 in our church who fought many sicknesses and 00:01:41.500 --> 00:01:44.159 illnesses that the gifts of healing and miracles 00:01:44.159 --> 00:01:46.620 are alive and well today. All we have to do is 00:01:46.620 --> 00:01:49.540 look up Hebrews chapter 13 and verse 8 that says 00:01:49.540 --> 00:01:52.540 Jesus is the same yesterday today and forever. 00:01:52.540 --> 00:01:55.239 He is our healer. He hasn't changed. His healing 00:01:55.239 --> 00:01:57.640 power has not decreased in one bit and we can 00:01:57.640 --> 00:02:00.379 believe for miracles and we can believe for healings 00:02:00.379 --> 00:02:03.599 because his word says that we can. Now in my 00:02:03.599 --> 00:02:06.079 book, Fate for Miracles, it's something I wrote 00:02:06.079 --> 00:02:09.139 based on a series of podcasts I did here probably 00:02:09.099 --> 00:02:12.139 Six months ago or longer and I would encourage 00:02:12.139 --> 00:02:14.080 you if you'd like to to go pull up that list 00:02:14.080 --> 00:02:16.240 of podcasts There was about 20 of them dealing 00:02:16.240 --> 00:02:18.819 with faith for miracles and that podcast is what 00:02:18.819 --> 00:02:22.680 gave me the inspiration Shall I say to write 00:02:22.680 --> 00:02:25.280 a book on it? And so it's been one of my favorite 00:02:25.280 --> 00:02:26.759 books that I've written because I believe the 00:02:26.759 --> 00:02:29.199 Holy Spirit is Doing a great work with it and 00:02:29.199 --> 00:02:31.099 many people's lives have been touched by it. 00:02:31.099 --> 00:02:33.830 I thank the Lord for it. So in that book I give 00:02:33.830 --> 00:02:37.349 actual examples of where these two power gifts 00:02:37.349 --> 00:02:39.969 have been manifested in the bodies of various 00:02:39.969 --> 00:02:41.949 people. I mean, there's a number of them there 00:02:41.949 --> 00:02:43.830 and I'll give some examples in this particular 00:02:43.830 --> 00:02:47.330 podcast also. Before we go further into the podcast, 00:02:47.409 --> 00:02:49.789 I want you to know that there's nothing wrong 00:02:49.789 --> 00:02:53.330 in taking prescribed medicines or supplements 00:02:53.330 --> 00:02:56.110 for an illness. Whenever I have experienced, 00:02:56.110 --> 00:02:58.150 you know, a physical setback of some kind, I 00:02:58.150 --> 00:03:00.210 like to tell the doctors that I'm a Christian 00:03:00.210 --> 00:03:03.129 and I thank the Lord for doctors, for medical 00:03:03.129 --> 00:03:05.590 care and medicine, but most of all for prayers. 00:03:05.849 --> 00:03:08.409 I usually get a little smile from them. Most 00:03:08.409 --> 00:03:11.439 doctors have a difficult time. with having confidence 00:03:11.439 --> 00:03:13.900 in prayer but I've seen a number of doctors over 00:03:13.900 --> 00:03:15.800 the years who've seen the miracle take place 00:03:15.800 --> 00:03:17.819 in my life and the lives of other people that 00:03:17.819 --> 00:03:19.840 I'm very much aware of and they've called it 00:03:19.840 --> 00:03:23.060 a miracle too. Now we must tell our doctors I 00:03:23.060 --> 00:03:24.740 believe that we need to tell them that you're 00:03:24.740 --> 00:03:26.919 Christians and that you believe in the Word of 00:03:26.919 --> 00:03:28.719 God and you believe that Jesus is the healer. 00:03:28.759 --> 00:03:30.759 It's fine to take their medication it's fine 00:03:30.759 --> 00:03:33.300 to hear from them but we need to pray and trust 00:03:33.300 --> 00:03:35.300 God. You know in the old days when I first started 00:03:35.300 --> 00:03:37.680 talking about healings and miracles and things 00:03:37.680 --> 00:03:40.189 I used to talk about what I call the faith cabinet 00:03:40.189 --> 00:03:42.310 that's when we get a cold or something the first 00:03:42.310 --> 00:03:44.710 thing we do our faith leads us to the medicine 00:03:44.710 --> 00:03:46.889 cabinet in our bathroom and we open it up we 00:03:46.889 --> 00:03:48.469 start looking for pills and things that help 00:03:48.469 --> 00:03:50.830 us with it now we've all done it and I don't 00:03:50.830 --> 00:03:52.330 think necessarily there's anything wrong with 00:03:52.330 --> 00:03:54.469 that but on the other hand we better not make 00:03:54.469 --> 00:03:56.669 that our faith cabinet the medicine cabinet is 00:03:56.669 --> 00:03:59.310 just the medicine cabinet but by faith we were 00:03:59.310 --> 00:04:02.250 healed by faith we receive our sight by faith 00:04:02.250 --> 00:04:04.569 we receive the blessings that God has for us 00:04:04.569 --> 00:04:06.849 so let's not put our faith in a medicine but 00:04:07.039 --> 00:04:09.360 It's I believe okay to use those things and I 00:04:09.360 --> 00:04:11.580 also have no problem using supplements. I take 00:04:11.580 --> 00:04:13.180 several different supplements because they're 00:04:13.180 --> 00:04:15.340 natural and I think they're good for me and my 00:04:15.340 --> 00:04:17.420 doctors have even recommended them. So we thank 00:04:17.420 --> 00:04:19.899 the Lord for that. The gifts of healing and miracles 00:04:19.899 --> 00:04:23.259 come from the Holy Spirit deciding who should 00:04:23.259 --> 00:04:25.100 have these gifts. Now once again that's found 00:04:25.100 --> 00:04:27.439 in 1st Corinthians chapter 12 verses 7 through 00:04:27.439 --> 00:04:29.899 11. I strongly recommend you go back and read 00:04:29.899 --> 00:04:31.980 those. If you haven't, I've covered them several 00:04:31.980 --> 00:04:34.439 times in the last few messages as we've covered 00:04:34.439 --> 00:04:36.670 the nine power gifts of the Holy Spirit. These 00:04:36.670 --> 00:04:39.089 are the last two in that series, but like I said 00:04:39.089 --> 00:04:41.230 earlier I'll be continuing to talk about in the 00:04:41.230 --> 00:04:44.209 future about Holy Spirit Directed healings and 00:04:44.209 --> 00:04:46.110 miracles because I believe that's such a vital 00:04:46.110 --> 00:04:49.750 part of our life. We cannot earn these gifts 00:04:50.060 --> 00:04:52.240 through good works. People sometimes think, well, 00:04:52.240 --> 00:04:53.819 if I'm a better Christian or if I help other 00:04:53.819 --> 00:04:55.560 people, then maybe God will give me these gifts. 00:04:55.579 --> 00:04:58.540 No, we don't earn gifts. We don't go out and 00:04:58.540 --> 00:05:01.220 do those things. We, by faith, we operate in 00:05:01.220 --> 00:05:03.100 the gifts. By faith, we trust the Holy Spirit 00:05:03.100 --> 00:05:05.560 to do what only He can do. The gifts of healings 00:05:05.560 --> 00:05:08.819 and miracles come from the Holy Spirit deciding 00:05:08.819 --> 00:05:12.300 specifically who should have them and what gifts 00:05:12.300 --> 00:05:14.180 that they should have. And I think I've mentioned 00:05:14.180 --> 00:05:16.339 in other podcasts, I've been blessed on several 00:05:16.339 --> 00:05:18.480 occasions to have the gift of healing, the gift 00:05:18.480 --> 00:05:21.790 of miracles, the gifts of great faith and the 00:05:21.790 --> 00:05:23.649 gift of discerning of spirits. And they've been 00:05:23.649 --> 00:05:25.269 very helpful. They've come in at times when it 00:05:25.269 --> 00:05:28.250 was most needed. And 99 % of the time, it has 00:05:28.250 --> 00:05:29.970 to do with something in the church, something 00:05:29.970 --> 00:05:31.910 that's taking place in the church or a good friend 00:05:31.910 --> 00:05:33.610 of mine that I'm praying for or believing for. 00:05:33.750 --> 00:05:36.069 So the Holy Spirit, though, doesn't have me operate 00:05:36.069 --> 00:05:38.430 every moment of every day in each one of these 00:05:38.430 --> 00:05:40.930 gifts, but he brings them to me when there's 00:05:40.930 --> 00:05:43.689 a need so then I can be a blessing to those people 00:05:43.689 --> 00:05:46.810 that need and just give God all the glory, all 00:05:46.810 --> 00:05:49.839 the honor, and all the praise. Now, we don't 00:05:49.839 --> 00:05:51.879 have to, listen to this very carefully, we do 00:05:51.879 --> 00:05:54.540 not have to receive the power gifts of healing 00:05:54.540 --> 00:05:58.379 and miracles in order to see them come forth 00:05:58.379 --> 00:06:01.060 through our regular prayers and requests that 00:06:01.060 --> 00:06:03.259 we make to the Lord. You don't have to, it doesn't 00:06:03.259 --> 00:06:05.319 have to always be a power gift. Some people think, 00:06:05.319 --> 00:06:07.220 well it's gotta be this great power gift. No, 00:06:07.240 --> 00:06:10.060 it can be as simple as a child. The Bible talks 00:06:10.060 --> 00:06:12.759 about the children have great faith. Now don't shut me off on that now 00:09:56.070 --> 00:09:57.230 because I'm going to talk about that a little 00:09:57.230 --> 00:09:59.230 bit more and kind of clarify a little bit. That 00:09:59.230 --> 00:10:03.049 does not mean that medication or treatment cannot 00:10:03.049 --> 00:10:06.009 be blessed with a miracle or healings. I love 00:10:06.009 --> 00:10:08.070 to tell the doctors when I talk to them and they 00:10:08.070 --> 00:10:10.049 give me medication and they'll give me some pill 00:10:10.049 --> 00:10:11.850 or something for something I'll say, let me ask 00:10:11.850 --> 00:10:14.070 you a question doctor, whatever is in this pill 00:10:14.070 --> 00:10:16.940 is it anything that God didn't create? And sometimes 00:10:16.940 --> 00:10:18.720 they'll look at me like, hmm, I never thought 00:10:18.720 --> 00:10:20.840 of that way. But almost every time they'll say, 00:10:21.159 --> 00:10:23.480 no, it all had to be here on Earth someplace. 00:10:23.720 --> 00:10:25.860 So God created everything that's in there, right? 00:10:26.080 --> 00:10:28.120 And so if he did, the man's just now getting 00:10:28.120 --> 00:10:29.659 around to understanding what the pill is. So therefore, I'm really not supporting 00:10:41.559 --> 00:10:43.820 drugs and medicine all the time, but I just want 00:10:43.820 --> 00:10:46.299 you to know that sometimes when you take medication, 00:10:46.580 --> 00:10:49.629 you can get a much greater... reaction, or a 00:10:49.629 --> 00:10:52.090 good reaction, a positive reaction of something 00:10:52.090 --> 00:10:53.889 great happening in your body. Matter of fact, 00:10:54.029 --> 00:10:55.909 in all the eight months that I was taking chemo, 00:10:56.110 --> 00:10:57.690 the doctor would tell me, he'd say, okay, now 00:10:57.690 --> 00:10:59.169 we're putting this chemo in you. I went every 00:10:59.169 --> 00:11:01.129 week for my treatments for eight months when 00:11:01.129 --> 00:11:04.860 I was... fighting their diagnosis of multi myeloma 00:11:04.860 --> 00:11:06.799 bone marrow cancer and they said we need you're 00:11:06.799 --> 00:11:08.320 gonna need to take this for many many months 00:11:08.320 --> 00:11:10.779 maybe for many years and it was pretty heavy 00:11:10.779 --> 00:11:13.059 stuff and it was trying to beat me up and they 00:11:13.059 --> 00:11:15.639 would say this medication you know is is really 00:11:15.639 --> 00:11:17.820 attacking your kidney and is attacking your body 00:11:17.820 --> 00:11:20.419 and at the time I only had one kidney left because 00:11:20.419 --> 00:11:23.059 20 years before that I lost my right kidney to 00:11:23.059 --> 00:11:25.559 cancer and I believe due to Asian orange exposure 00:11:25.559 --> 00:11:27.960 in Vietnam and then 20 years later here came 00:11:27.960 --> 00:11:30.399 multi myeloma bone marrow cancer which was due 00:11:30.399 --> 00:11:33.129 to my experience in Vietnam being exposed to 00:11:33.129 --> 00:11:34.789 Agent Orange, which by the way, if you know of 00:11:34.789 --> 00:11:36.710 a veteran who's fighting those things, I would 00:11:36.710 --> 00:11:39.490 encourage you to get them to contact the VA and 00:11:39.490 --> 00:11:41.470 try and get help from them. The VA was a huge 00:11:41.470 --> 00:11:44.309 blessing to me and they paid for all my chemo 00:11:44.309 --> 00:11:47.070 medications for a number of years. Eight months 00:11:47.070 --> 00:11:48.830 had gone by and the doctor was telling me, you 00:11:48.830 --> 00:11:50.929 know, he says, matter of fact, you're way ahead 00:11:50.929 --> 00:11:53.509 of what we thought you'd be at this stage. And 00:11:53.509 --> 00:11:56.049 so it was eight months from the time I started 00:11:56.049 --> 00:11:57.789 that, that he looked at me and he said, this 00:11:57.789 --> 00:11:59.710 is still incurable. Matter of fact, right now, if you're 00:14:01.529 --> 00:14:04.230 facing a kidney issue, maybe it's a functioning 00:14:04.230 --> 00:14:06.330 problem, maybe a kidney stone, an infection, 00:14:06.490 --> 00:14:08.970 whatever, Father, in the name of Jesus, I call 00:14:08.970 --> 00:14:11.929 forth healing in those kidneys. You see when I was 25 years of 00:14:25.000 --> 00:14:27.639 age, I had kidney failure. The doctor looked 00:14:27.639 --> 00:14:29.399 at me and I was a young man at the time, very 00:14:29.399 --> 00:14:31.299 young man at the time, 25 years of age. And it 00:14:31.299 --> 00:14:33.360 was a long time ago and they didn't do kidney 00:14:33.360 --> 00:14:35.460 transplants very much. And he said, you would 00:14:35.460 --> 00:14:37.379 not be able to survive a kidney transplant. You're 00:14:37.379 --> 00:14:39.460 not that healthy. Your blood is not in good shape. 00:14:39.740 --> 00:14:41.700 And we had just become Christians. We had just 00:14:41.700 --> 00:14:43.679 found Jesus as our Lord and Savior. And a few 00:14:43.679 --> 00:14:46.240 months later I was diagnosed with incurable kidney 00:14:46.240 --> 00:14:49.500 failure. And my kidneys would just simply die. 00:14:49.500 --> 00:14:52.179 And I would die. And there was no other thing 00:14:52.179 --> 00:14:54.500 else that they could do. Anyways, so we prayed. 00:14:54.639 --> 00:14:56.240 So six months later I went back to the doctor. 00:14:56.240 --> 00:14:58.120 He looked at me and said, what did you do? I 00:14:58.120 --> 00:14:59.899 said, well, we prayed and I drink a lot of water. 00:15:00.000 --> 00:15:02.139 He said, well, I like you drinking a lot of water. 00:15:02.299 --> 00:15:04.179 But you prayed? I said, yeah, every day. My wife 00:15:04.179 --> 00:15:06.299 and I prayed over my kidneys. I even prayed over 00:15:06.299 --> 00:15:08.679 the water that it would cleanse and do more than 00:15:08.679 --> 00:15:10.960 what the lot of water was intended to do. We've become 00:16:00.870 --> 00:16:02.870 good friends I prayed for his son who played 00:16:02.870 --> 00:16:05.429 football I prayed for his family and we've got 00:16:05.429 --> 00:16:07.230 to know each other and he's always said call 00:16:07.230 --> 00:16:09.529 me if you ever need anything and I have a couple 00:16:09.529 --> 00:16:11.389 of times and he's been right there to help in 00:16:11.389 --> 00:16:14.629 any way that he could but it's it's not an intellectual 00:16:14.629 --> 00:16:18.750 explanation a Working of miracles and so doctors 00:16:18.750 --> 00:16:20.590 sometimes have a difficult time with that because 00:16:20.590 --> 00:16:22.570 they are doctors of science and that's good, 00:16:22.669 --> 00:16:25.659 but both the gifts of healings and working of 00:16:25.659 --> 00:16:28.679 miracles work together with the gift of faith 00:16:28.679 --> 00:16:30.879 they all kind of come together and work together 00:16:30.879 --> 00:16:33.639 for the glory of God and for healing and emotion 00:16:33.639 --> 00:16:35.399 whether it be emotional healing would be physical 00:16:35.399 --> 00:16:37.419 healing whether it be a miracle someone needs 00:16:37.419 --> 00:16:40.259 and a cancer that they've given up hope on there 00:16:40.259 --> 00:16:43.340 is no way that God ever gives up on us I know 00:16:43.340 --> 00:16:46.000 he doesn't always heal everyone I don't understand 00:16:46.000 --> 00:16:48.379 why that is all I know is that when we get to 00:16:48.379 --> 00:16:50.700 heaven we'll know the answer then and that's 00:16:50.700 --> 00:16:53.100 just good enough for me now but I believe that 00:16:53.100 --> 00:16:55.580 I Every time I pray I believe that God's going 00:16:55.580 --> 00:16:57.759 to perform a miracle and he's going to do something 00:16:57.759 --> 00:17:01.519 that man will be in awe about. Man will be wondering 00:17:01.519 --> 00:17:04.940 how it happened and to God be the glory. A miracle 00:17:04.940 --> 00:17:09.480 takes authority over sickness and even sin. His heart stopped. twice and he was taken 00:17:18.670 --> 00:17:20.509 to the hospital. I went and jumped in my car 00:17:20.509 --> 00:17:21.970 and drove behind the ambulance to get to the 00:17:21.970 --> 00:17:23.769 hospital to be with him. We went to the emergency 00:17:23.769 --> 00:17:25.910 room and the doctor came out there and he looked 00:17:25.910 --> 00:17:27.690 at me and he said, you know, Pastor, he says 00:17:27.690 --> 00:17:30.410 this type of a heart attack almost always takes 00:17:30.410 --> 00:17:32.589 the life of the patient. He said when I saw what 00:17:32.589 --> 00:17:34.829 it was and the kind of heart attack he had, it's 00:17:34.829 --> 00:17:37.059 just unbelievable that he's alive. The doctor 00:17:37.059 --> 00:17:39.859 told me it had to be a miracle. And I'm not making 00:17:39.859 --> 00:17:41.420 this up. The doctor looked at me and he says 00:17:41.420 --> 00:17:43.819 it had to be a miracle that he's alive because 00:17:43.819 --> 00:17:46.640 his heart did stop twice and God brought him 00:17:46.640 --> 00:17:50.579 back. Now, the heart blockage and all that that 00:17:50.579 --> 00:17:53.180 he had in his heart was not healed. So the man 00:17:53.180 --> 00:17:56.019 had to have bypass surgery. The bypass surgery 00:17:56.019 --> 00:17:57.900 was great. We prayed that the doctor's hands 00:17:57.900 --> 00:17:59.680 will be led and guided and directed. We need 00:17:59.680 --> 00:18:01.319 to do that. When someone goes for surgery, we 00:18:01.319 --> 00:18:03.740 need to pray over the hands of a doctor. I remember 00:18:03.740 --> 00:18:06.599 one time I was praying for someone. who was having 00:18:06.599 --> 00:18:08.380 hip surgery. And the doctor came in the room 00:18:08.380 --> 00:18:10.339 and I said, Doctor, would you mind if I prayed 00:18:10.339 --> 00:18:12.720 over your hands that the Lord would bless you? 00:18:12.740 --> 00:18:14.839 And he said, Oh, that's wonderful. So he put 00:18:14.839 --> 00:18:17.759 his hands out and I just reached over and I put 00:18:17.759 --> 00:18:20.420 my hands on his. I just simply put my hands over 00:18:20.420 --> 00:18:23.160 top of his. I said, Father, you made these hands. 00:18:23.200 --> 00:18:25.140 You created them and you've given this man the 00:18:25.140 --> 00:18:27.819 ability to use them in a proper way. I pray now 00:18:27.819 --> 00:18:30.759 that his hands will be touched and blessed and 00:18:30.759 --> 00:18:32.740 this surgery will go better than he's ever seen 00:18:32.740 --> 00:18:36.220 before. And quite frankly, the surgery was incredibly 00:18:36.220 --> 00:18:38.160 successful. The doctor even told me, he says, 00:18:38.339 --> 00:18:39.599 I thought it was going to be a four, four and 00:18:39.599 --> 00:18:41.279 a half hour surgery. And it took me an hour and 00:18:41.279 --> 00:18:43.119 a half to complete this surgery that normally 00:18:43.119 --> 00:18:45.160 takes four and four and a half hours. So once 00:18:45.160 --> 00:18:47.680 again, to God be the glory. Going back to the 00:18:47.680 --> 00:18:49.819 guy with the heart attack, the severity of the 00:18:49.819 --> 00:18:52.619 blockage should have taken this guy's life, the 00:18:52.619 --> 00:18:54.920 man that we had at the men's breakfast. So we 00:18:54.920 --> 00:18:57.299 just need to pray for medicine, for doctors, 00:18:57.500 --> 00:18:59.740 and that they can work together. And through 00:18:59.740 --> 00:19:02.099 that, God will receive all the glory, all the 00:19:02.099 --> 00:19:04.640 honor and praise. Now this tells me that miracles 00:19:04.640 --> 00:19:07.319 and healings can happen at the same time, but 00:19:07.319 --> 00:19:11.619 in many cases the miracle will bring a physical 00:19:11.619 --> 00:19:15.019 healing and it might be physical, it might be 00:19:15.019 --> 00:19:18.559 mental, it might be spiritual. As a pastor for 00:19:18.559 --> 00:19:21.440 over 28 years I've seen the gifts of healings 00:19:21.440 --> 00:19:25.299 and miracles bring entire families to receive 00:19:25.299 --> 00:19:27.680 Jesus Christ as Lord. I knew a family once. They 00:19:27.680 --> 00:19:30.299 were from the the mid -east and they came and 00:19:30.299 --> 00:19:33.140 there was a lady in the family who had cancer. 00:19:33.380 --> 00:19:35.680 They came to me. I prayed with them. They were 00:19:35.680 --> 00:19:37.559 converted Muslims. They came to our church and 00:19:37.559 --> 00:19:39.980 got saved and I prayed with them and I had a 00:19:39.980 --> 00:19:41.539 little cloth and I said let's take this cloth 00:19:41.539 --> 00:19:43.519 and pray over it. I put some anointing oil on 00:19:43.519 --> 00:19:45.420 it. Now it's not the cloth. It's not the anointing 00:19:45.420 --> 00:19:47.059 oil that healed anything. I said but take it 00:19:47.059 --> 00:19:49.539 to her and in faith claim her healing and they 00:19:49.539 --> 00:19:51.910 went all the way back. to the Mideast to meet 00:19:51.910 --> 00:19:55.190 this family member. They prayed for her and she 00:19:55.190 --> 00:19:57.829 was miraculously healed. Now that is just over 00:19:57.829 --> 00:20:00.529 the top miracle and healing and faith. These 00:20:00.529 --> 00:20:03.329 people started Bible studies. in their little 00:20:03.329 --> 00:20:05.710 town. And they had Bible studies underground 00:20:05.710 --> 00:20:08.009 because they couldn't let anybody know that they 00:20:08.009 --> 00:20:11.650 were seeking advice from Christian pastors and 00:20:11.650 --> 00:20:14.829 reading and having Bible studies. And God's power 00:20:14.829 --> 00:20:16.930 spread throughout that community that they were 00:20:16.930 --> 00:20:20.130 in. Remember, Jesus performed healings and miracles. 00:20:20.369 --> 00:20:22.829 After those healings and miracles, many people 00:20:22.829 --> 00:20:24.789 followed Jesus. They went after him. Large crowds followed him wherever 00:20:57.440 --> 00:21:00.240 he went. People from Galilee, the Ten Towns, 00:21:00.259 --> 00:21:03.500 Jerusalem, from all over Judea, and from east 00:21:03.500 --> 00:21:06.140 of the Jordan River. Look at that.
