Mom worked hard to take care 00:05:54.000 --> 00:05:58.660 of us. But she also didn't have that real submitted 00:05:58.660 --> 00:06:01.720 relationship with the Lord. Yeah. But she did 00:06:01.720 --> 00:06:04.800 the best she could do with us children. And so 00:06:04.800 --> 00:06:07.680 we went just trying to do life on our own, you 00:06:07.680 --> 00:06:12.759 know. So say I was lost, you know. And I felt very 00:07:13.569 --> 00:07:17.389 guilty. But the Lord restored that too. He's 00:07:17.389 --> 00:07:20.870 so good. He is so faithful. So what did Tom say 00:07:20.870 --> 00:07:25.490 about being your sixth husband? Yes, I was telling, 00:07:25.689 --> 00:07:27.930 sharing with you that he told me he was the... 00:07:28.120 --> 00:07:31.120 curse stopper on divorce. Isn't that great? I was reading the 00:07:57.230 --> 00:07:59.829 word. I'd been reading the word for about a year 00:07:59.829 --> 00:08:03.949 before I met him. And he went to church. So at 00:08:03.949 --> 00:08:05.850 that time, to me, that was, you know, that was 00:08:05.850 --> 00:08:08.709 a Christian. And we got together and I started 00:08:08.709 --> 00:08:10.449 reading the Bible. When I started reading the 00:08:10.449 --> 00:08:13.449 Bible and believing the Bible and then reading 00:08:13.449 --> 00:08:15.790 the word and doing the word, when I applied it, 00:08:15.829 --> 00:08:17.889 things started to change at that point in my 00:08:17.889 --> 00:08:21.269 life. Things started to get transformed. Okay. 00:08:21.290 --> 00:08:23.620 And then what happened? So three of my children 00:08:23.620 --> 00:08:27.079 had left home, three were still there, and they 00:08:27.079 --> 00:08:31.779 were watching what I was doing, which has impacted 00:08:31.779 --> 00:08:35.460 their lives. Sure. So at home, I started reading 00:08:35.460 --> 00:08:39.580 the Word, and I just decided to believe that 00:08:39.580 --> 00:08:43.740 it was true. Yeah, because it is. You know, I've 00:08:43.740 --> 00:08:47.519 learned that faith really is a... decision that 00:08:47.519 --> 00:08:49.460 God's word is true. You make a decision. It's 00:08:49.460 --> 00:08:52.580 the best decision I've ever made in my life is 00:08:52.580 --> 00:08:55.899 to decide that God's word is true. And I started 00:08:55.899 --> 00:08:59.879 to apply it to my life in my home. What I was 00:08:59.879 --> 00:09:02.600 learning, I was so excited about what I was learning 00:09:02.600 --> 00:09:05.379 that I would start sharing it everywhere I went. 00:09:05.500 --> 00:09:08.879 I'd be so excited about, I was reading in the 00:09:08.879 --> 00:09:11.000 word, it was giving me hope and encouragement. 00:09:11.559 --> 00:09:15.259 And I was like, the Lord says, you know, I'm 00:09:15.259 --> 00:09:18.279 blessed of him. And, you know, there's benefits. 00:09:18.620 --> 00:09:22.820 And so I started, I got hungry for everything 00:09:22.820 --> 00:09:26.519 that he would want me to have. And so I started 00:09:26.519 --> 00:09:30.840 studying and reading and praying. So I did that 00:09:30.840 --> 00:09:34.240 for about three years. Nothing was changing. In the way 00:09:46.539 --> 00:09:52.259 of feeling love or peace and joy, I was thinking 00:09:52.259 --> 00:09:55.120 I've gone to church all these years. And living 42 years without knowing 00:10:01.799 --> 00:10:05.200 who you are in Christ, I had come to a place 00:10:05.200 --> 00:10:08.279 in my life where I even thought about suicide. 00:10:09.220 --> 00:10:12.179 Because everything in my life was deteriorating. 00:10:12.500 --> 00:10:16.559 It was going downhill. to a point where I couldn't 00:10:16.559 --> 00:10:20.080 pay my bills. I couldn't take care of the children 00:10:20.080 --> 00:10:24.299 with their clothing. Everything that I needed, 00:10:24.340 --> 00:10:27.759 it was getting harder and harder. So I cried 00:10:27.759 --> 00:10:32.340 out to God at home. I started asking the Lord. 00:10:32.399 --> 00:10:35.259 I said, God, one day I was crying on the kitchen 00:10:35.259 --> 00:10:38.440 floor on my knees. I was crying out to God. And so when I called out to the Lord for 00:11:00.000 --> 00:11:05.519 help, I experienced his presence. He showed up 00:11:05.519 --> 00:11:10.639 in my kitchen and there was an awareness. of 00:11:10.639 --> 00:11:15.139 his presence, a love that I had never felt in 00:11:15.139 --> 00:11:18.720 my life. I knew in that moment that he was real 00:11:18.720 --> 00:11:23.279 and I was going to be okay. Wow. And so I got 00:11:23.279 --> 00:11:26.259 up and I went over to this book I was reading. 00:11:26.580 --> 00:11:31.259 And in the book, it said, submission into a relationship. 00:11:32.320 --> 00:11:35.259 Being submitted to the Lord is through a relationship. 00:11:35.740 --> 00:11:39.059 with Jesus. So that developed into a Bible study 00:12:04.529 --> 00:12:08.090 in my home. Wow. And it was mainly family and 00:12:08.090 --> 00:12:11.669 a few friends. And they were coming. And so then 00:12:11.669 --> 00:12:15.009 that was growing. And so I took it to my church 00:12:15.009 --> 00:12:18.070 and I said, I'd like to help out here in the 00:12:18.070 --> 00:12:22.000 church, have a women's Bible study. And it was 00:12:22.000 --> 00:12:25.539 a traditional church. And they said, no, I couldn't 00:12:25.539 --> 00:12:27.940 do that. So I kept it in my head. But you already 00:12:27.940 --> 00:12:30.100 were doing it, right? I was doing it anyway. 00:12:30.299 --> 00:12:32.899 People in the church were following me to my 00:12:32.899 --> 00:12:36.019 car and asking me questions because they were 00:12:36.019 --> 00:12:39.360 seeing my life change. Wow. They were seeing 00:12:39.360 --> 00:12:43.100 a whole different person, the way I talked. And, 00:12:43.139 --> 00:12:46.820 you know, my reputation was turning around. People 00:12:46.820 --> 00:12:49.240 are just seeing. a different person. They were 00:12:49.240 --> 00:12:52.399 asking me questions. So a few years later, my 00:12:52.399 --> 00:12:55.360 husband and I left that church, not because of 00:12:55.360 --> 00:12:59.320 them, but because the Lord, I had dreams and 00:12:59.320 --> 00:13:02.059 visions. The more I read the Bible and applied 00:13:02.059 --> 00:13:05.379 it to my life, I came into hearing from God. 00:13:05.659 --> 00:13:09.539 I heard him. He talked to me through the word, 00:13:09.600 --> 00:13:13.799 through dreams and visions. And so one thing 00:13:13.799 --> 00:13:17.419 led to another. I was a hairdresser at the time. 00:13:17.980 --> 00:13:21.440 And I had a dream of a Christian bookstore. Oh, 00:13:21.440 --> 00:13:23.799 this is good. This is good. It's true. I was taking them all to 00:13:42.850 --> 00:13:45.870 the Word of God. Good for you. You were pastoring 00:13:45.870 --> 00:13:50.250 in your salon. I was. Yes. And people, I believe 00:13:50.250 --> 00:13:52.549 they started feeling beautiful on the inside. 00:13:52.649 --> 00:13:56.590 Glory to God. Oh, yes. And so my salon actually 00:13:56.590 --> 00:14:01.269 turned into a Bible study. Beautiful. The people's 00:14:01.269 --> 00:14:03.309 hair that I would do, they started coming and 00:14:03.309 --> 00:14:08.279 we would. We would have Bible studies. And so 00:14:08.279 --> 00:14:12.919 I have this vision of books. And I told my husband, 00:14:13.039 --> 00:14:14.860 I told him, I said, I believe we're supposed 00:14:14.860 --> 00:14:18.840 to open up a Christian bookstore. And at the 00:14:18.840 --> 00:14:22.860 time, he was a very new believer. And I said, 00:14:22.879 --> 00:14:25.240 I want to buy a building. I had rented all my 00:14:25.240 --> 00:14:30.279 life, my career. I had rented and it was like 00:14:30.279 --> 00:14:33.420 the Lord was showing me that I could own. And 00:14:33.420 --> 00:14:37.419 if I owned all those years I'd rented. Yeah. 00:14:39.059 --> 00:14:41.840 So he was financially teaching me. He was teaching 00:14:41.840 --> 00:14:43.940 me in every area of my life. And I started applying 00:14:43.940 --> 00:14:46.639 it. So I have this dream. I tell my husband about 00:14:46.639 --> 00:14:50.759 it. He said, I'm not supporting this. And I said, 00:14:50.879 --> 00:14:54.860 well, honey, how about if we pray together? And 00:14:54.860 --> 00:14:56.940 if I get the loan, if I go to the bank, get the 00:14:56.940 --> 00:14:58.740 loan for this building and this Christian bookstore. 00:14:59.720 --> 00:15:01.940 He said, yes, if you get it, but you can't get 00:15:01.940 --> 00:15:04.899 it without my signature because of your reputation 00:15:04.899 --> 00:15:09.860 and your financial. I was $40 ,000 in debt when 00:15:09.860 --> 00:15:15.120 I came to know the Lord. Oh, my. Yes. But he 00:15:15.120 --> 00:15:17.879 had already gotten me out of that debt at this 00:15:17.879 --> 00:15:21.620 time. Wow. The Lord had showed me a way and all 00:15:21.620 --> 00:15:24.940 that. Because I had this urgency 00:16:02.259 --> 00:16:06.559 that this is what the Lord wanted me to do. And 00:16:06.559 --> 00:16:08.539 so I go in, and I'm sitting across from the banker, 00:16:08.639 --> 00:16:11.120 and I tell him I just blamed it on God.
