And, you know, it was just an excuse 00:06:01.019 --> 00:06:06.660 for. drugs and doing anything i could think of 00:06:06.660 --> 00:06:09.699 but ultimately and i believe this about people 00:06:09.699 --> 00:06:11.540 that are doing drugs are looking for something 00:06:11.540 --> 00:06:17.379 else yeah and you know i hit a low point um after 00:06:17.379 --> 00:06:20.920 i had been a drug addict was addicted to meth 00:06:20.920 --> 00:06:26.300 for a series of months and had gotten clean but 00:06:26.300 --> 00:06:29.579 was dealing with a lot of consequences from those 00:06:29.579 --> 00:06:33.240 time periods and there was a particular low moment 00:06:33.689 --> 00:06:37.410 Where I'd never felt suicide before or being 00:06:37.410 --> 00:06:40.810 suicidal. And my wife was having all kinds of 00:06:40.810 --> 00:06:44.449 health complications. My son was just born. And 00:06:44.449 --> 00:06:48.170 I felt this darkness come down on me. And the 00:06:48.170 --> 00:06:52.110 only thing I could think about was suicide. That 00:06:52.110 --> 00:06:55.589 and I remembered the name of Jesus. Wow. And 00:06:55.589 --> 00:06:59.149 it was like the only way I could kind of describe 00:06:59.149 --> 00:07:02.279 it is. two options and you know when one of them 00:07:02.279 --> 00:07:04.500 felt very distant but i remembered the name of 00:07:04.500 --> 00:07:08.019 jesus just it felt so far from me and in that 00:07:08.019 --> 00:07:10.819 moment i just said jesus help and and when i 00:07:10.819 --> 00:07:14.240 said that all the darkness lifted but the situation 00:07:14.240 --> 00:07:19.620 was the same and that led to we started attending 00:07:19.620 --> 00:07:22.949 my parents baptist church I gave my life to the 00:07:22.949 --> 00:07:26.209 Lord, but I did it in a way, and I wouldn't recommend 00:07:26.209 --> 00:07:31.449 people do this, but I was being authentic with 00:07:31.449 --> 00:07:34.370 the Lord. All I had known about Christianity 00:07:34.370 --> 00:07:37.790 was stories, and none of them were my story, 00:07:37.870 --> 00:07:40.149 and none of them were things that I had seen 00:07:40.149 --> 00:07:44.110 personally. So I said, God, I give you my life, 00:07:44.129 --> 00:07:46.870 but if the stuff in the Bible is real, we ought 00:07:46.870 --> 00:07:52.279 to be able to see it. at the time i was you know 00:07:52.279 --> 00:07:54.139 i was reading the bible probably for the first 00:07:54.139 --> 00:07:57.980 time really i had read read it through before 00:07:57.980 --> 00:08:01.420 but but this time was like it was alive in a 00:08:01.420 --> 00:08:03.759 different way and my prayer life was coming alive 00:08:03.759 --> 00:08:08.259 and i noticed the person of the holy spirit in 00:08:08.259 --> 00:08:11.199 the old testament with the prophets and and coming 00:08:11.199 --> 00:08:14.540 on the apostles and acts and i actually had this 00:08:14.540 --> 00:08:18.680 thought of who's the holy spirit i just i had 00:08:18.680 --> 00:08:21.019 never heard You know, I knew the Catholic thing, 00:08:21.100 --> 00:08:22.660 the Father, Son, Holy Spirit, because I'd seen 00:08:22.660 --> 00:08:28.220 the movies. Yeah. That's funny. But I started 00:08:28.220 --> 00:08:30.660 to notice how the Holy Spirit would change lives 00:08:30.660 --> 00:08:34.440 and change circumstances. And I saw The 00:09:04.360 --> 00:09:08.399 Finger of God, Darren Wilson's documentary. And 00:09:08.399 --> 00:09:12.299 at the time it was on TBN, the clip that I saw 00:09:12.299 --> 00:09:14.909 was the underground church worshiping. And they 00:09:14.909 --> 00:09:17.350 were just in tears. And I just couldn't help 00:09:17.350 --> 00:09:19.570 myself.
