Because in the 00:05:08.430 --> 00:05:10.970 last days, there's just going to be escalation 00:05:10.970 --> 00:05:13.970 of everything. So I'm just making a comparison 00:05:13.970 --> 00:05:17.250 in missions. Even when we first started out in 00:05:17.250 --> 00:05:20.970 missions, you and me, in the 70s and 80s, and 00:05:20.970 --> 00:05:23.670 seeing the change, I mean, China wasn't even 00:05:23.670 --> 00:05:27.290 touched for the gospel. But that huge explosion 00:05:27.290 --> 00:05:29.870 in a 25 -year period of time, I thought, what's 00:05:29.870 --> 00:05:33.430 happening here? And then now today, over 300 00:05:33.430 --> 00:05:37.480 million Christians over there. Just in our lifetimes. 00:05:37.480 --> 00:05:41.480 Yeah. And as I think about we Americans and how 00:05:41.480 --> 00:05:44.600 blessed we were and sent as Americans into the 00:05:44.600 --> 00:05:46.819 last areas of the world, and we've had a little 00:05:46.819 --> 00:05:50.220 bit of a debate about this, that traditional 00:05:50.220 --> 00:05:53.699 missions, and I still believe it. But there's 00:05:53.699 --> 00:05:56.600 a new phase to it for what we in our generation 00:05:56.600 --> 00:06:00.220 have to do. Like you said, empowering and bringing 00:06:00.220 --> 00:06:04.040 forth and outpouring. I say an awakening or whatever 00:06:04.040 --> 00:06:07.240 the next generation needs to equip them. And 00:06:07.240 --> 00:06:10.860 as we are, you know, we have so many blessings 00:06:10.860 --> 00:06:14.660 that we can pass on. And I've learned even in 00:06:14.660 --> 00:06:17.199 Mongolia recently that a lot of these things 00:06:17.199 --> 00:06:21.790 are given by impartation. And the pastors, ministers, 00:06:22.089 --> 00:06:24.629 leaders, teachers prayed over us over the last 00:06:24.629 --> 00:06:28.149 40 years. We can pass on to them. But Paul said, 00:06:28.329 --> 00:06:31.430 and he emphasized it, by the laying on of hands. 00:06:31.970 --> 00:06:35.170 And I know I've been given a commission, and 00:06:35.170 --> 00:06:38.529 the Lord spoke to me emphatically in China to 00:06:38.529 --> 00:06:42.089 lay hands on all the pastors. And in China, that 00:06:42.089 --> 00:06:45.709 was millions. I'd get as many as I could. And 00:06:45.709 --> 00:06:49.470 I remember one place in Shanghai. I couldn't 00:06:49.470 --> 00:06:52.389 reach them all. There were thousands. And I thought, 00:06:52.430 --> 00:06:54.810 I can't do this, Lord. And I went all the way 00:06:54.810 --> 00:06:58.350 back to Kunming, 2 ,800 miles away. As soon as 00:06:58.350 --> 00:07:02.129 I got back to Kunming, the Lord said, hey, you 00:07:02.129 --> 00:07:05.689 forgot. And so I turned right around and drove 00:07:05.689 --> 00:07:09.290 all the way back to Shanghai, told the people. 00:07:10.620 --> 00:07:13.040 I failed here because I was to pray for you and 00:07:13.040 --> 00:07:16.319 lay hands on you like Paul did and impart these 00:07:16.319 --> 00:07:18.699 gifts to you that he's given us in our generation. 00:07:19.259 --> 00:07:21.560 And there were just as many there. But in China in the 00:07:49.949 --> 00:07:53.470 80s, things were primitive. And when I go to 00:07:53.470 --> 00:07:56.170 Mongolia now, it's almost like seeing what China 00:07:56.170 --> 00:07:59.709 was in the 90s. Wow. Especially when I told you 00:07:59.709 --> 00:08:03.129 1 .7 % of them are only Christians, that many. 00:08:05.630 --> 00:08:08.509 That is about what it was there. And then there 00:08:08.509 --> 00:08:12.290 was a takeoff when they just proliferated like 00:08:12.290 --> 00:08:16.769 crazy. And in the 90s, we saw the phase was the 00:08:16.769 --> 00:08:19.050 people seemed to be backwards and they wanted 00:08:19.050 --> 00:08:22.129 to have what we as American Christians had and 00:08:22.129 --> 00:08:24.649 just as Americans had. In fact, I was accused 00:08:24.649 --> 00:08:28.430 in China. They said, you know, it's your westernization 00:08:28.430 --> 00:08:30.589 has brought these problems into our country. 00:08:30.730 --> 00:08:34.600 And I said, excuse me. You didn't call it westernization 00:08:34.600 --> 00:08:37.460 when you asked for it. You called it modernization. 00:08:37.960 --> 00:08:40.919 You wanted to become modern like we were. But 00:08:40.919 --> 00:08:45.059 behold, now in the 90s and 2000s, they got it. 00:08:45.159 --> 00:08:48.139 And look how far even China in some areas has 00:08:48.139 --> 00:08:50.860 surpassed us. Yes. From a third world nation 00:08:50.860 --> 00:08:56.500 to what they are today. But I just wonder. The 00:08:56.500 --> 00:08:58.940 good things and the bad things that we're responsible 00:08:58.940 --> 00:09:02.460 for as missionaries. I held my course like Paul 00:09:02.460 --> 00:09:04.860 did. You certainly did, too. But there have been 00:09:04.860 --> 00:09:06.940 a lot of things in the fabric that didn't look 00:09:06.940 --> 00:09:09.879 so good. But, you know, the element of grace 00:09:09.879 --> 00:09:13.639 and being sanctified in it through it all. And 00:09:13.639 --> 00:09:17.580 the Asians understanding that and the love that 00:09:17.580 --> 00:09:20.419 supersedes all of that is one of the factors 00:09:20.419 --> 00:09:23.039 of the things I saw in Mongolia that was so precious. 00:09:23.399 --> 00:09:26.710 Their love for each other. the unity for each 00:09:26.710 --> 00:09:30.190 other, the simplicity of it. And I thought, I 00:09:30.190 --> 00:09:32.529 just don't want anything to get in there and 00:09:32.529 --> 00:09:36.149 ruin that. Especially some of these, you know, 00:09:36.149 --> 00:09:39.070 church leaders to say, well, now we got to administrate 00:09:39.070 --> 00:09:43.190 this and organize it. We need to, we saw that 00:09:43.190 --> 00:09:46.929 happen in China too. And so I think in the last 00:09:46.929 --> 00:09:50.649 thing that we did, I said, I want to be a watchdog 00:09:50.649 --> 00:09:54.490 like Paul was, you know, guarding some of the 00:09:54.490 --> 00:09:57.769 churches in this infant stage from, you know, 00:09:57.789 --> 00:10:01.210 letting the dogs and the liars in and the wolves 00:10:01.210 --> 00:10:04.570 and sheep's clothing. It's backward, too. But I kind of liked 00:10:29.009 --> 00:10:32.070 that old way. Didn't you? Yeah, yeah, there's 00:10:32.070 --> 00:10:34.730 a lot of good to that. Simplicity. You know, 00:10:34.730 --> 00:10:37.549 there's a whole movement here to go back to something 00:10:37.549 --> 00:10:42.110 simpler. Yeah, I remember reading an article. 00:10:42.840 --> 00:10:45.740 It was about this man that went to find the Tibetan 00:10:45.740 --> 00:10:49.480 tea road that went from China to Tibet. You know, 00:10:49.480 --> 00:10:52.120 the Chinese would go through the mountains taking 00:10:52.120 --> 00:10:55.740 tea to Tibet and come back with war horses. You 00:10:55.740 --> 00:10:58.220 know, and the guy who was narrating this, you 00:10:58.220 --> 00:11:00.879 know, he found segments of the road. And he said 00:11:00.879 --> 00:11:05.139 China is rapidly bulldozing its past. And even 00:11:05.139 --> 00:11:06.879 when we were there, we wanted to get a couple 00:11:06.879 --> 00:11:08.679 of these little Chinese cups that have the lids 00:11:08.679 --> 00:11:11.220 on them. What year were you there? When did you 00:11:11.220 --> 00:11:15.480 go? Oh. It was probably 12 years ago or 13, something 00:11:15.480 --> 00:11:18.620 like that. Yeah, and our hosts took us to like 00:11:18.620 --> 00:11:20.879 three or four different place shopping malls, 00:11:20.879 --> 00:11:23.960 and there's nothing to be found of the old. He's on all the money over 00:12:47.159 --> 00:12:51.720 there. It's not their heritage. Genghis Khan 00:12:51.720 --> 00:12:56.120 and Chairman Mao. or the Communist Party, their 00:12:56.120 --> 00:12:59.779 heritage is in Christ, and teaching them that 00:12:59.779 --> 00:13:04.139 this is their citizenship.
