He came to inform us today that despite 00:06:50.550 --> 00:06:53.610 how everything might look, despite how bad it 00:06:53.610 --> 00:06:56.769 gets, despite how down it gets, I want you to 00:06:56.769 --> 00:06:59.129 know that in the end, everything is going to 00:06:59.129 --> 00:07:01.449 be all right. Why don't we give God some praise 00:07:01.449 --> 00:07:09.370 today? The 70 disciples that went out to spread 00:07:09.370 --> 00:07:13.209 the gospel came back rejoicing because demons 00:07:13.209 --> 00:07:16.470 were subject to them. They were celebrating their 00:07:16.470 --> 00:07:20.230 success. They were excited over the result that 00:07:20.230 --> 00:07:22.709 they were experiencing, and Jesus interrupted 00:07:22.709 --> 00:07:26.410 their celebration and basically said, listen, 00:07:26.589 --> 00:07:30.769 fellas, let me tell you how this story is ultimately 00:07:30.769 --> 00:07:34.629 going to end. One might ask, why would Jesus 00:07:34.629 --> 00:07:38.230 spoil the ending if they were riding a wave of 00:07:38.230 --> 00:07:42.329 success? Why would Jesus come and in a way kind 00:07:42.329 --> 00:07:45.500 of rain on their parade if they... If things 00:07:45.500 --> 00:07:48.160 were going good, why not just sort of let them 00:07:48.160 --> 00:07:50.980 enjoy the moment? Why did Jesus have to come 00:07:50.980 --> 00:07:54.279 in and kind of like, you know, put a damper on 00:07:54.279 --> 00:07:56.939 things almost? Because these guys were just, 00:07:57.060 --> 00:07:59.360 they were riding high. They were really feeling 00:07:59.360 --> 00:08:02.300 themselves. They were really excited about what 00:08:02.300 --> 00:08:04.220 they were seeing, and they came back with such 00:08:04.220 --> 00:08:08.560 a great report. But the reason God put a pause 00:08:08.560 --> 00:08:12.079 there and... kind of rained on their parade a 00:08:12.079 --> 00:08:15.160 little bit is because God knows how life and 00:08:15.160 --> 00:08:19.399 ministry have a way of pulling us into the tension 00:08:19.399 --> 00:08:24.180 of the middle. And he understood that these men 00:08:24.180 --> 00:08:29.139 might feel one way today, but differently tomorrow. 00:08:29.839 --> 00:08:33.759 He understood that they might be riding high 00:08:33.759 --> 00:08:36.600 right now because they're just coming off a great 00:08:36.600 --> 00:08:40.039 victory, but tomorrow may not be the same way. 00:08:40.460 --> 00:08:42.679 They may experience disappointment. They might 00:08:42.679 --> 00:08:46.100 experience failure. It might not go the way they 00:08:46.100 --> 00:08:49.720 expected. So Jesus wanted to prepare them for 00:08:49.720 --> 00:08:52.740 those kinds of days. So he tells them some things 00:08:52.740 --> 00:08:56.860 about the spirit world that we also must understand 00:08:56.860 --> 00:09:00.860 today. Tomorrow could be totally different based 00:09:00.860 --> 00:09:04.600 on what happens from day to day. An unexpected 00:09:04.600 --> 00:09:09.580 burden. A discouraging doctor's report. A friend 00:09:09.580 --> 00:09:12.100 that suddenly abandons you or ghosts you, stops 00:09:12.100 --> 00:09:15.559 responding. A door that you thought was open 00:09:15.559 --> 00:09:19.600 suddenly closes on you. That's just life. Amen. 00:09:19.940 --> 00:09:23.440 How many of you know that's just life? You're going to win 00:10:06.090 --> 00:10:08.590 some. You're going to lose some. You're going 00:10:08.590 --> 00:10:11.110 to win a battle here. He didn't give him a 00:11:51.799 --> 00:11:56.039 chance to say his farewell and his good biddings. 00:11:56.059 --> 00:11:59.740 The moment that Satan was fired from heaven's 00:11:59.740 --> 00:12:03.139 roster, the Bible says he fell out of heaven 00:12:03.139 --> 00:12:07.600 like a lightning bolt. And he was fired at the 00:12:07.600 --> 00:12:13.200 speed of roughly 270 ,000 miles. per hour. That 00:12:13.200 --> 00:12:15.980 is the speed of a lightning bolt traveling towards 00:12:15.980 --> 00:12:19.539 earth. This is what Jesus wanted his disciples 00:12:19.539 --> 00:12:23.960 to understand. He wanted them to go back to that 00:12:23.960 --> 00:12:27.200 moment to remind them that before they ever stepped 00:12:27.200 --> 00:12:30.340 into the battle, before they ever go out in his 00:12:30.340 --> 00:12:33.440 name, before they ever step out into this broken 00:12:33.440 --> 00:12:36.360 and messed up world. I hope you're hearing what 00:12:36.360 --> 00:12:38.940 I'm preaching here today. He knows that he's already 00:17:46.890 --> 00:17:50.049 defeated. He's defeated, Brother Isaac.
