Therefore, the ungodly 00:01:18.540 --> 00:01:23.260 shall not stand in the judgment nor sinners in 00:01:23.260 --> 00:01:27.500 the congregation of the righteous. For the Lord 00:01:27.500 --> 00:01:30.900 knows the way of the righteous, but the way of 00:01:30.900 --> 00:01:35.840 the ungodly shall perish. So we've had this picture the last 00:02:15.800 --> 00:02:19.979 several weeks of a tree planted in the rivers 00:02:19.979 --> 00:02:23.719 of water and growing and flourishing to its potential 00:02:23.719 --> 00:02:26.379 fruitfulness. How many of you want to be fruitful? 00:02:27.199 --> 00:02:28.680 I said, how many of you want to be fruitful? 00:02:29.340 --> 00:02:32.199 We want to produce fruit in our life. But here 00:02:32.199 --> 00:02:37.830 in verse 4. the scenery shifts and it moves us 00:02:37.830 --> 00:02:42.569 from the field to the ancient threshing floor 00:02:42.569 --> 00:02:46.909 with these words like the shaft which the wind 00:02:46.909 --> 00:02:51.150 drives away. So I want you to notice there's 00:02:51.150 --> 00:02:54.610 a pivot here in the psalm taking us from the 00:02:54.610 --> 00:02:58.069 orchard, from the field where the trees are and 00:02:58.069 --> 00:03:01.969 now it takes us to the threshing floor. This 00:03:01.969 --> 00:03:05.340 is Essentially the next step in the process. 00:03:05.460 --> 00:03:09.860 This is the next phase of a developing tree is 00:03:09.860 --> 00:03:13.240 fruitfulness. Now the fruit or the grain has 00:03:13.240 --> 00:03:17.360 been reaped from the field or from the orchard. 00:03:17.419 --> 00:03:20.259 And now it's time to produce. Now it's time to 00:03:20.259 --> 00:03:24.659 process that. At harvest time, farmers brought 00:03:24.659 --> 00:03:28.139 their grain to what was called a threshing floor. 00:03:28.620 --> 00:03:32.120 There the grain was beaten and... broken loose 00:03:32.120 --> 00:03:36.500 from the husk, and it was tossed into the air 00:03:36.500 --> 00:03:39.860 at dusk with a winnowing fork. And this was a tradition 00:03:43.419 --> 00:03:47.900 as a process at that time in order for people 00:03:47.900 --> 00:03:52.800 to actually consume the grain or what was harvested. 00:03:53.219 --> 00:03:56.819 It had to go through this threshing floor. And 00:03:56.819 --> 00:04:21.420 as the grain would be... So, as you can see here 00:04:21.420 --> 00:04:26.199 in this illustration, all of the grain with its 00:04:26.199 --> 00:04:29.439 husk. shell on the outside would just be laid 00:04:29.439 --> 00:04:32.740 upon this hard floor. This is the threshing floor. 00:04:33.160 --> 00:04:37.139 And then with oxen, they would begin to crush 00:04:37.139 --> 00:04:40.939 and press and trample upon with lots of pressure 00:04:40.939 --> 00:04:44.879 that grain so that it could break loose and loosen 00:04:44.879 --> 00:04:48.839 the outer casing over the true grain. And then 00:04:48.839 --> 00:04:51.180 to separate it, as you see the man there, they 00:04:51.180 --> 00:04:54.870 would throw everything up into the air. And the 00:04:54.870 --> 00:04:57.709 wind would take away what they didn't need and 00:04:57.709 --> 00:05:01.050 retain that which was edible, that which was 00:05:01.050 --> 00:05:04.529 valuable. So the threshing floor served a very 00:05:04.529 --> 00:05:07.290 important purpose in daily life, in agricultural 00:05:07.290 --> 00:05:10.870 life. It was an important step for everyone to 00:05:10.870 --> 00:05:14.370 be able to partake of whatever was harvested. 00:05:14.709 --> 00:05:17.449 The threshing floor would separate the empty 00:05:17.449 --> 00:05:21.930 shells from the substance. It separated the true 00:05:21.930 --> 00:05:26.879 from the false. It separated the wheat from the 00:05:26.879 --> 00:05:30.660 chaff. And the analogy here in Psalm 1 primarily 00:05:30.660 --> 00:05:34.100 foreshadows the day of judgment when every soul 00:05:34.100 --> 00:05:37.920 will stand before God and give an account for 00:05:37.920 --> 00:05:40.220 their life, which is something that we all will 00:05:40.220 --> 00:05:43.139 do one day. And in that final moment, the ungodly 00:05:43.139 --> 00:05:46.060 will be carried away like the chaff while the 00:05:46.060 --> 00:05:48.860 righteous will remain in the presence of God. 00:05:49.139 --> 00:05:51.990 So it gives us a foreshadowing. of that future 00:05:51.990 --> 00:05:56.290 day where we stand before God in judgment. But 00:05:56.290 --> 00:05:59.170 there is also a present reality within this picture 00:05:59.170 --> 00:06:03.610 because God is not waiting until eternity to 00:06:03.610 --> 00:06:07.290 begin the threshing process. He does not wait 00:06:07.290 --> 00:06:10.490 until judgment day to begin separating and to 00:06:10.490 --> 00:06:13.870 begin threshing His people. I've come today to 00:06:13.870 --> 00:06:18.430 tell you that God is threshing His people today. 00:06:20.939 --> 00:06:24.860 an end time or a latter day rain or a latter 00:06:24.860 --> 00:06:28.139 day wind, I should say. God is threshing his 00:06:28.139 --> 00:06:33.600 people today. There is a prophetic wind that 00:06:33.600 --> 00:06:37.100 is blowing in these last days. We have entered 00:06:37.100 --> 00:06:40.600 church a time and a season of threshing for the 00:06:40.600 --> 00:06:43.620 church. I want you to know that God is allowing 00:06:43.620 --> 00:06:46.769 winds to blow. across this world and through 00:06:46.769 --> 00:06:50.389 His church in order to reveal who is planted. 00:06:50.990 --> 00:06:53.189 Something we need to understand about the last 00:06:53.189 --> 00:06:55.029 days, about the end time. And I'm not going to 00:06:55.029 --> 00:06:57.730 dwell here too long, but we've got to understand 00:06:57.730 --> 00:07:00.129 that while at the same time the church is growing, 00:07:00.269 --> 00:07:03.189 thriving and harvesting, you also need to understand 00:07:03.189 --> 00:07:06.470 that prophetically it is also being purified. 00:07:07.149 --> 00:07:09.670 There's also being separated. It is also going 00:07:09.670 --> 00:07:12.910 through a process of God not just growing his 00:07:12.910 --> 00:07:15.449 church, but he's also preparing himself a bride. 00:07:16.160 --> 00:07:18.579 He's also, at the same time that the church is 00:07:18.579 --> 00:07:20.779 growing, you've got to understand prophetically, 00:07:20.899 --> 00:07:23.040 there is also a falling away that is occurring 00:07:23.040 --> 00:07:26.660 simultaneously in parallel with the growth of 00:07:26.660 --> 00:07:29.279 the church. There is a threshing that is taking 00:07:29.279 --> 00:07:33.879 place. God is threshing His church in the hour 00:07:33.879 --> 00:07:36.139 that we are living in. What is God doing? He 00:07:36.139 --> 00:07:38.879 is purifying. He is pruning. He is separating. 00:07:39.279 --> 00:07:42.459 He is qualifying. He is validating His one and 00:07:42.459 --> 00:07:45.560 true church. And we are going through a period 00:07:45.560 --> 00:07:49.379 like that at this very moment, both secularly 00:07:49.379 --> 00:07:54.000 and we're seeing it. In every aspect of life, 00:07:54.220 --> 00:07:58.379 we're seeing how God is threshing his church. 00:07:58.759 --> 00:08:01.980 He's allowing the winds to blow, and it's testing 00:08:01.980 --> 00:08:05.300 the faith. It's testing the integrity. It's testing 00:08:05.300 --> 00:08:08.879 the character, the will, the conviction of his 00:08:08.879 --> 00:08:12.220 church. And so this is what God is allowing to 00:08:12.220 --> 00:08:14.819 happen, and it's not a question of whether there 00:08:14.819 --> 00:08:17.899 is threshing because there is, but rather what 00:08:17.899 --> 00:08:23.279 is left when the wind has blown in my life. Not 00:08:23.279 --> 00:08:25.600 a question of whether there is threshing, but 00:08:25.600 --> 00:08:28.259 what's going to be left? What's going to be said? 00:08:28.519 --> 00:08:31.319 What's going to be the testimony, the witness 00:08:31.319 --> 00:08:35.240 of my life as the wind begins to blow and carried 00:08:35.240 --> 00:08:39.179 away the shaft? What will remain? Because the 00:08:39.179 --> 00:08:43.220 same wind that carries away the shaft also proves 00:08:43.220 --> 00:08:48.159 the weight of the wheat. The shaft, the lightweight stuff, the 00:08:52.029 --> 00:08:54.909 stuff with no substance, the stuff with no future, 00:08:55.009 --> 00:08:58.539 the stuff with no weight to it. Also reveals 00:08:58.539 --> 00:09:03.299 what is true. Also reveals what is real and what 00:09:03.299 --> 00:09:06.440 has substance. Amen. Hallelujah. So today I want 00:09:06.440 --> 00:09:09.759 to show you some things that happen when the 00:09:09.759 --> 00:09:13.379 wind blows on the threshing floor of our life. 00:09:13.460 --> 00:09:15.679 Because we are on a threshing floor today. A 00:09:15.679 --> 00:09:18.679 spiritual threshing floor. You need to understand 00:09:18.679 --> 00:09:22.330 what God is doing in your life and why. Some 00:09:22.330 --> 00:09:24.289 of the winds are blowing. The first thing that 00:09:24.289 --> 00:09:26.690 it does when the wind blows, it reveals what 00:09:26.690 --> 00:09:30.850 is real. Someone say the real thing. Amen. The 00:09:30.850 --> 00:09:32.330 real thing. I think that used to be like the 00:09:32.330 --> 00:09:34.789 slogan of Coke many years ago. It's the real 00:09:34.789 --> 00:09:39.870 thing. Amen. God wants to see what is real and 00:09:39.870 --> 00:09:44.309 what is not. Psalm 1 does not say that the wind 00:09:44.309 --> 00:09:51.480 turns wheat into chaff. But it reveals. What 00:09:51.480 --> 00:09:56.919 was chaff all along? The wind doesn't make you 00:09:56.919 --> 00:10:02.139 chaff. It reveals whether you are or not. You 00:10:02.139 --> 00:10:05.279 see, in the field, the wheat and the chaff are 00:10:05.279 --> 00:10:08.980 bundled together. They're even harvested together. 00:10:09.259 --> 00:10:13.259 They're connected. They look similar. So from 00:10:13.259 --> 00:10:15.919 a distance, you can't always tell the difference 00:10:15.919 --> 00:10:19.440 between wheat and chaff. But the threshing floor 00:10:19.440 --> 00:10:25.509 is the place A revelation. It reveals what is 00:10:25.509 --> 00:10:31.330 missing. What's lacking. What's real. What isn't. 00:10:31.330 --> 00:10:34.509 What's pretending. And this is the picture of 00:10:34.509 --> 00:10:36.750 what happens on the threshing floor of life. 00:10:37.309 --> 00:10:42.049 As the winds of trial and tribulation and trouble 00:10:42.049 --> 00:10:46.309 begin to blow in our direction. And in 00:11:13.779 --> 00:11:16.139 our church, let me tell you something about trials. 00:11:16.279 --> 00:11:18.879 Something we need to understand when the winds 00:11:18.879 --> 00:11:22.539 of trouble and trial begin to blow in our life. 00:11:23.399 --> 00:11:27.419 Trials don't make you. And 00:14:23.320 --> 00:14:26.399 the storm, watch this, the storm did not change 00:14:26.399 --> 00:14:31.000 the house.
