It's not like 00:02:13.379 --> 00:02:16.560 a scary, you know, like blue kind of ghost. But 00:02:16.560 --> 00:02:18.180 yeah, I don't know. For me, it's 00:05:39.720 --> 00:05:43.600 kind of different. I first learned about the 00:05:43.600 --> 00:05:46.639 Holy Spirit when reading the Bible about Pentecost. 00:05:46.879 --> 00:05:52.420 And the image that always stayed in my head at 00:05:52.420 --> 00:05:56.980 the time was the flame over people's head. That 00:05:56.980 --> 00:06:00.759 to me was the Holy Spirit. Very dramatic and 00:06:00.759 --> 00:06:07.310 scary. So that's the first part when I learned 00:06:07.310 --> 00:06:11.089 about the Holy Spirit. And when I first, when 00:06:11.089 --> 00:06:13.949 I felt, I believe that I received the Holy Spirit 00:06:13.949 --> 00:06:17.509 was at my confirmation. So I was around 13 and 00:06:17.509 --> 00:06:21.250 the laying of the hands of the bishop to me that 00:06:21.250 --> 00:06:24.910 was like as a symbol. So it was me accepting 00:06:24.910 --> 00:06:29.490 Jesus from my godparents and parents who baptized 00:06:29.490 --> 00:06:34.420 me. So it was an intention. to accept Jesus. 00:06:34.500 --> 00:06:37.540 And I felt the symbolism, I guess, of the sacrament 00:06:37.540 --> 00:06:40.319 of confirmation was the laying of the Holy Spirit. 00:06:40.519 --> 00:06:42.279 I don't know whether it's true or false, but 00:06:42.279 --> 00:06:45.220 that's what I learned. Sure. So that was my first. 00:06:45.319 --> 00:06:48.439 And the first time I really experienced it was 00:06:48.439 --> 00:06:53.000 at a youth retreat where I guess I saw the Holy 00:06:53.000 --> 00:06:56.019 Spirit acting up in other people. Like they were 00:06:56.019 --> 00:07:00.209 filled with emotions. I guess in some ways now 00:07:00.209 --> 00:07:03.310 it's more of a charismatic way of feeling the 00:07:03.310 --> 00:07:06.790 Holy Spirit. But I remember praying to God, how 00:07:06.790 --> 00:07:11.850 come I never felt that? I see all these people 00:07:11.850 --> 00:07:14.430 feeling it, but is there something wrong with 00:07:14.430 --> 00:07:17.470 me? So it was kind of three ways. And basically, 00:07:17.949 --> 00:07:22.129 after a while, I learned that really God is not 00:07:22.129 --> 00:07:26.230 that far. God is in us. And that's through the 00:07:26.230 --> 00:07:29.430 Holy Spirit. I kind of accept it. I don't have 00:07:29.430 --> 00:07:33.089 to feel the same. my transformation was a little 00:07:33.089 --> 00:07:35.490 bit slow and different. Sure, sure. But yeah. 00:07:36.230 --> 00:07:38.990 So the three first times were the Holy Spirit, 00:07:39.209 --> 00:07:41.930 but that's how it was. Yeah, I think that like 00:07:41.930 --> 00:07:44.269 there is sometimes that feeling like maybe we're 00:07:44.269 --> 00:07:46.649 missing something if we're not having a really 00:07:46.649 --> 00:07:49.569 dramatic experience or a really emotional experience. 00:07:50.029 --> 00:07:52.089 And like those are really real. Like people feel 00:07:52.089 --> 00:07:55.930 that and that happens, but that's not how the 00:07:55.930 --> 00:07:58.209 Holy Spirit works in every single person, right? 00:07:58.310 --> 00:08:01.410 Like we don't need to have these, These really 00:08:01.410 --> 00:08:03.209 dramatic moments. Not to say that those are bad. 00:08:03.430 --> 00:08:06.569 No. At all. They're good. They're very good. 00:08:06.689 --> 00:08:08.629 Yeah. But yeah, to sort of say the Holy Spirit 00:08:08.629 --> 00:08:12.509 works in us in different ways. Yeah. Yeah, for 00:08:12.509 --> 00:08:18.110 sure. Okay. So how would you say that the Holy 00:08:18.110 --> 00:08:20.370 Spirit has sort of been part of your life? Like, 00:08:20.370 --> 00:08:22.490 what does it look like? Are there moments or 00:08:22.490 --> 00:08:24.410 stories where you can say, ah, this was the Holy 00:08:24.410 --> 00:08:29.509 Spirit sort of working in me? Yeah. To move on 00:08:29.509 --> 00:08:31.790 from what? Yeah. And you experience it together, 00:08:41.490 --> 00:08:45.870 actually, as well, in those situations. But that's 00:08:45.870 --> 00:08:50.570 a dramatic, very obvious sign. Yeah. Yeah, and is it building 00:14:09.120 --> 00:14:12.100 someone up or is it something that builds people 00:14:12.100 --> 00:14:17.539 up? Is it something that is helpful as opposed 00:14:17.539 --> 00:14:23.919 to selfish, I guess? Sure. It's not easy. It's 00:14:23.919 --> 00:14:27.440 not always clear -cut. Yeah, what would you add 00:14:27.440 --> 00:14:31.009 to that? I would say the same thing. Normally, 00:14:31.009 --> 00:14:33.789 when I try to think of whether it's the Holy 00:14:33.789 --> 00:14:37.990 Spirit who's guiding me or not, I try to memorize 00:14:37.990 --> 00:14:41.789 the spirit, the fruits of the Holy Spirit. So 00:14:41.789 --> 00:14:43.990 I would say, does it bring joy? Does it bring 00:14:43.990 --> 00:14:47.769 peace? Is it self -control? Does it nudge me 00:14:47.769 --> 00:14:53.370 to serve others? That's kind of how I see the 00:14:53.370 --> 00:14:59.570 work, I guess, in my life, so to speak. You're 00:14:59.570 --> 00:15:01.990 feeling anxious and you're really desperate and 00:15:01.990 --> 00:15:04.529 you pray to God and say, I'm surrendering this 00:15:04.529 --> 00:15:08.169 to you. And then you feel that peace. You know 00:15:08.169 --> 00:15:11.509 where it's coming from, right? And similarly, 00:15:11.610 --> 00:15:14.029 when I'm nudged to see somebody and help and 00:15:14.029 --> 00:15:18.110 I'm willing to listen and take the time and try 00:15:18.110 --> 00:15:22.450 to help. Again, to me, it's the works. It's the 00:15:22.450 --> 00:15:24.649 result of the Holy Spirit. I wouldn't call it 00:15:24.649 --> 00:15:28.470 the works. To me, when I read the fruit of the 00:15:28.470 --> 00:15:32.309 Holy Spirit, it's basically the result of Him 00:15:32.309 --> 00:15:35.870 working in us. Sure.
