Brother Ben Aina [00:00:00]: Good evening and aloha. This is. My name is brother Ben Aina and I'm going to do day 16 of these 21 days of prayer. So could you folks just join me in bowing our heads and posturing our heart in prayer? Dear Lord, heavenly Father, Abba, Papa. We not only bow our heads and close our eyes, but more importantly this evening we bow our hearts to you and we say, have your way, Lord, have your way. Please use me as a vessel willing and available and to say what you want me to say. Nothing more and nothing less. Ask this in your son Jesus name. Brother Ben Aina [00:00:53]: Amen. Amen. Okay, tonight I have the privilege of talking about the vertical and the horizontal relationships. And I will use the cross as a picture. And it's, it's going to come on soon. But the first scriptures I'm going to use is Matthew, chapter 22, verse 34 to 40. But in that vertical, what I'm going to explain is as the cross, as you see it here, the vertical relationship is our first relationship with the Lord. And there you go, Vnh, relationships. Brother Ben Aina [00:01:45]: And, and I want. What I wanted to do, my friends, is as a scripture comes on, I'll, I'll read it. And it's. It is from Matthew, chapter 22, verses 34 to 40. Okay, so you know, it says this, I'll just. Okay, there we go, says Matthew, verse 34. Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question, teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law? Jesus replied, love the Lord your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. Brother Ben Aina [00:02:39]: This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it, love your neighbor as yourself. All the law and the prophets hang on these two commandments. So as we see that what I wanted to bring out is first of. Worship Team [00:02:57]: All. Brother Ben Aina [00:03:00]: As Matthew brings it out, the second commandment is extremely close, but it's an extremely close second and difficult to separate from the first. And yet it is the second. Okay, so the first and vertical means I put down intimacy, a personal relationship. This is where we get and find our true identity. We are children and sons and daughters of God. This is where he wants us to be. People of one thing, the passionate pursuit of his face. King David said, one thing I have desired of the Lord that will I see that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life to behold the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple. Brother Ben Aina [00:03:59]: Psalms 27:4. And Paul the Apostle, he also said, but the one thing I do, which was the pursuit of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. I just wanted to set the vertical. So that's where we cultivate our relationship with the Lord. We just come in a place where we just spend time with him, you know, the first fruits. That's where you nourish your just love on him. It's like a love of a relationship. And you just sit at his feet. Brother Ben Aina [00:04:34]: And I'll give more examples as we go on. So the second part is I want to bring out is the first, the second, the next psalm. This is one example. Jesus got up very early in the morning in verse 35, Mark, chapter one. And he said, very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place where he prayed. So as we know, that's his vertical and that's where Jesus was. You know, he had so much ministry, he had to heal, he had to do many things. But if he didn't connect with his God, with his Father, our God, you know, then we don't. Brother Ben Aina [00:05:25]: I don't believe he would be as hearing from the Lord or doing all those things because that's where he got his strength from. So that was my, in a sense of my message. Part of it is to get it across to us that we need that. I encourage you folks. And another example is the next scripture is going to be. This is from Mary and Martha. We know the story. As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. Brother Ben Aina [00:06:08]: She had a sister called Mary who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said. Verse 40. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me. Martha, Martha. The Lord answered, you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed, or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better and it will not be taken away from her. So here's another example of Mary going in that vertical, you know, in that saying where the example is, we need to go, you know. Brother Ben Aina [00:07:02]: So I wanted to talk about that and just to let you folks know that, to encourage us to stay in that vertical. Because after that, then the horizontal will come and the horizontal, as we know, is the ministries that we do. Okay, so here's what I put down for the ministry part of the says, excuse me, sorry, I am nervous, but this is where he wants to be wanting. So this is where he wants to be people of wanting, all of us. So I'm. What I'm bringing out is. And then. Okay, I'm sorry. Brother Ben Aina [00:08:12]: We go to the four things to ponder and meditate on. Can we go there? You know, I just thought that we can, you know, so, you know, in this time, I put down four things to meditate on. Is the vertical relationship is intimacy with God. Intimacy is close familiarity or friendship. In John 15:15, Jesus said, I no longer call you servants because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends for everything that I learned from my Father, I have made known to you. We can easily become caught up with ministry that we neglect solitude. Number two. Brother Ben Aina [00:08:59]: We can easily become so caught up with ministry that we neglect solitude, individual worship and prayer to our. To our God. Okay, sorry, this is what I really want to bring up. Anyone here find it hard to forgive someone? No joy of the Lord within them? Get frustrated, bitter, resentful and angry quickly? Or look at life through your own eyes instead. Through God's eyes. Well, my brothers and sisters, that was me speaking from my own experience, going in a vicious and toxic cycle. I had to repent and get back to my first love. I was doing a horizontal to horizontal relationship instead of a vertical to horizontal. Brother Ben Aina [00:10:04]: I was leaving God out. I was just. And in this. In this time, in this season, like I said, you know, when you know, you think you forgave someone, but the Holy Spirit knows us best and God knows that you can say you forgive someone, but when you. One of the ways is that I sense on my own is that, you know, when God said you need to pray for your enemies or pray for ones that you don't agree with. So I knew that I wasn't on that course of forgiveness because I wasn't praying for this particular person or persons, you know. And that's so called one of the red lights, so to speak, that you can use that says, oh, gosh. So anyway, the Lord took me to this scripture and I'll end in this, in Revelation. Brother Ben Aina [00:11:06]: I'm sorry. Sister Brianna, can you go back to the other scripture, the last one there? This is Revelation, chapter 2, verse 2 to 5. This is what I got quickened to. And he was talking to the church of Ephesus and he was sharing with the church of Ephesus. I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked people that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not and have found them false. You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name and have not grown weary. Yet I hold this against you. Brother Ben Aina [00:11:50]: You have forsaken the love you have. At first, consider how far you have fallen. Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place. So that's what the Holy Spirit quickened me to, the scripture, because instead of a church, he's talking to us personally. And he was talking to me personally. That brother Ben, you gotta repent. You know, that I'm not forgiving. Brother Ben Aina [00:12:23]: And like I said earlier, you get frustrated, bitter, you know, resentful and angry very quickly. And, you know, and you're not. So you're not in that vertical, you know. So through that repentance, though, and through. Through that time, I had to really seek the Lord and get into that. And then came, I believe, Second Corinthians, chapter 3:17. I don't have any memory that where the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And when you get in that space and get in that time frame and that season, oh, man, it's like, you know, and that's by the grace of God. Brother Ben Aina [00:13:05]: I'm at it here today, you know, by you folks, help my brothers and sisters. By God's help, by, you know, you folks. Pastor Glenn, you here. Pastor Jeff, you know, Pastor Terrence is here. And each and every one of you here in the house and online, I just want to thank you. This is a time I just want to say thank you for coming alongside, because I never did get a judgmental spirit. I never did get, like, condescending or I really felt the love. And I still do today, you know, and that is what gave me to go back into my vertical. Brother Ben Aina [00:13:44]: Because of bread and soul, when I say the second it helps. We need Martha's. Yeah, we need that. We all need that. We need the body of Christ. So I need you folks. And you folks was there for me, and you folks are still here for me. And I thank you folks personally, now that I have the chance to do it online and in front of you folks, my heart is there to tell you because like I said earlier, you folks never pointed a finger or just friendship. Brother Ben Aina [00:14:13]: On Saturday nights, I come. And on Sundays when I do go to Ho', Okele, I feel the love of God through each and every one of you. And I want to thank you personally. So I want to end there. Oh, we got maybe. I'm sorry, Brianna, can you send the last, the third and the fourth one? I believe. Sorry about that. Because this is what I believe the Holy Spirit is doing. Brother Ben Aina [00:14:41]: He says Holy Spirit is visiting many of us in this hour and turning our relationships, priorities and understandings upside down. And then the last one, I'll end it in this and I'll pray. Although self evaluation can be hard, coming before God, to hear him tells us where we need to change is even more difficult. We must ask God to point out our sins. And it says, you know, I believe it's in Psalms 139, verses 23 and 24. He said, Search my heart, O God, and know me. And bring up anything that is offensive to you. Because, you know, when we. Brother Ben Aina [00:15:33]: We gotta ask God, we cannot do it our own self. We gotta ask God. Lord, show me, please, where am I going off course or where am I sinning? Because if we do it ourselves, we ain't gonna get, you know, because we're measuring. But we need his guidance. We need His Holy Spirit. And when we go like that, like that scripture, and then it says he'll lead us to everlasting life. Yeah. So. Brother Ben Aina [00:15:57]: Just wanted to bring that out. Thank you so much. We can bow our heads and I'll pray. Dear Lord, thank you for just this time. Bless each and every one who have listened and let this be an encouragement of love. Ask this in your son Jesus name. Amen. So please go ahead and text your request in. Brother Ben Aina [00:16:24]: We're going to pray and then we'll be back later after this. Okay. Thank you. Pastor Glenn Yamaguchi [00:40:19]: To those who seek you, Father, thank you. That those who we humbled ourselves before you. We've asked you to search our hearts, Father. We've asked you to strengthen and renew, Father. We've asked you to move ahead. And Father, I thank you that when we come and we do these things, I know I have a sense that there's some of us that, to be honest, they're encountering a little bit more opposition to the things that you've been wanting to pray, the things that you've been contending for. Maybe that things are moving a little slower than you expected. Maybe there's things that haven't changed like you had hoped. Pastor Glenn Yamaguchi [00:40:56]: You know, when we talk about for the vertical and the horizontal, it's so often that because we live in a very horizontal world, that it's very easy for us to see these things. But would you know that God is going before us and that Father, the Father hears us and that we need to be reminded that even Daniel, when he prayed, lord, in Daniel 10, Lord, it wasn't the first day that he was heard that everything changed, Lord, but thank youk for the perseverance and the dedication that he had. And not that 21 days is a magic number, that at 21 days, God, we know that every prayer we've ever asked will ever be answered. But what happens is we change at times, Father, we get more committed, sometimes we develop more resilience. Lord we know that we also have a spiritual enemy and that, Lord, that when we're trying to operate at times, maybe even in the horizontal realm, Lord, that we don't see ourselves the way that you see us. Sometimes we don't see others. Lord, we know we should love, but sometimes it's hard to love, Father. Sometimes we instead of overcoming the world, it seems the world is overcoming us. Pastor Glenn Yamaguchi [00:42:15]: And instead of overcoming the enemy, Lord, that sometimes it seems that the enemy is overcoming us. But Father, I thank youk that when we're rightly connected with youh, though we may have to battle, though we may have to stand, though we may have to contend, Father, we thank you that we're not contending for victory, we're contending from victory, Father, that we're in the midst of the battle. But we thank you that you have won the battle. And the enemy may come to test or to tempt or distract or disrupt, or sometimes, Lord, drain or distort the things that are before us, sometimes our view of ourselves, sometimes the view of the world, or sometimes it's our view of you. But Father, when we're rightly connected, we thank youk, Lord. We see clearly, Father. We see youe purpose clearly, Father. Sometimes we see youe heart clearly. Pastor Glenn Yamaguchi [00:43:10]: There's some folks out here that right now maybe you've been contending for something and it's been slow in coming, and your tendency may be to think that God doesn't care. But would you know that when God doesn't say readily yes to the things that you're asking, it's not that he's saying no, and sometimes he's saying yes, I have a yes somewhere. It may not be exactly what you want when you want it in the way that you want it. But would you know God's heart for you is yes. And Father, sometimes it's in being, receiving that yes to continue to labor, to continue to contend, to continue to love. To continue to endure, Lord, that all of a sudden the larger yes that we've been asking for sometimes materializes. And if you're in that place right now, because I just feel like there's some people that feel cursed. There's some people that feels like the enemy is too strong. Pastor Glenn Yamaguchi [00:44:19]: I don't know if you're in that place today, would you just raise your hand to God? I don't care if you're in the house or you're at home, just raise your hand to God. Because Father, we thank you. We take authority that you've given to us. Lord, this might be. Some of it might be horizontal and some of it is vertical because we just declare your purposes and your plans for God's children have not changed. Lord, we thank youk that yout are not against them. And we just declare it, Lord. And would you'd declare it over yourself. Pastor Glenn Yamaguchi [00:44:53]: Lord, I thank youk that yout have blessed me. I thank youk that yout said, I'm not on the outside, I'm on the inside, I'm accepted in youn. And that would you'd just say whatever the enemy has thrown at you. Father, we just say in the name of Jesus, by the blood of the sacrifice and the power of direction, I cancel the enemy's assignment against you. And Father, I receive that you are going before me. And Father, I want to follow as closely as I can. Father, I humble myself before you. And Lord, I throw myself at the throne of grace, saying, God, without you I cannot really move to the dimensions that I desire. Pastor Glenn Yamaguchi [00:45:46]: But Father, in you all things are possible. And Father, we thank you that in you the thing that we didn't think we could forgive. We can forgive. But it doesn't mean that we trust the person, Lord. It means that we're not trying to make them pay. We're not trying to justify our hatred or our anger. We're not trying to justify those things. Father. Pastor Glenn Yamaguchi [00:46:16]: What we're saying, God, is that we're willing to release. And Lord, we might not need to. We don't have to reveal ourselves. We don't have to extend ourselves in a place to be hurt again at the moment, Lord, that's trust. And that's a different thing. But I thank you that you call your people to forgive. Father, I thank youk. Because when we forgive that, Lord, the one who is released from bondage is not the other person, it's us. Pastor Glenn Yamaguchi [00:46:50]: So Father, we thank youk for that. And Father, thank you that we want to see you more closely. We want to See you more clearly, Father, would the love of God that, Lord, would it fill our hearts? We just confess there's places in our lives. It might not be a whole life, but there's places in your heart that are hard, that are empty, that are discouraged. Would you just present those things to him today? Father, sometimes we want to do all these things on the horizontal, but we just find that we don't have it. But would you just fill those places? And we confess, Lord, that sometimes our hearts are hard because of a response, sometimes a previous hurt, Lord, sometimes it's because we haven't presented that part to you. But, Father, today we do. Father, we receive. Pastor Glenn Yamaguchi [00:47:45]: There's a grace that's fresh for us. Spirit of God, would you just say, spirit of God, would you come fill me today? Spirit of God, would you just. Would you help me to see today? To see what you see, to sense what you sense, to walk the way you want me to walk, Lord, not just my will, but your will be done. Not my power alone, God, but your power. Would it be perfected in my weakness? So, Lord, that I know it's not me who's doing it all, it's you working through my choice to move forward, my choice to trust. And, Father, I'm praying, Lord, that for some of those relationships that are on the horizontal level that we're praying for, breakthrough. God, would you touch the other person? Would you bless? Would you bless this person, Father, for some people, it's the blessing to see themselves. Sometimes it's the blessing, Lord, so they can see you. Pastor Glenn Yamaguchi [00:48:48]: Sometimes it's the blessing so they can see the situation. But, Father, we're praying for favor and grace over these people that sometimes are most challenging in these horizontal relationships. And, Father, we want to have the thank youk that yout've given us the authority when we confess our sin to stand over the enemy, Father, that yout said, Lord, to trample on snakes and scorpions, Lord, it's not that yout hate snakes and scorpions, but they. They were kind of metaphors or illusions to the work of the enemy, Lord, to. To strike at the heel, to derail, to poison. And so, Father, we just say, in the name of Jesus, would you nullify the attacks of the enemy? We take authority over him, Father, thank you that one day you will break every chain. You will crush the head of the enemy. So we say, Lord Jesus, come quickly. Pastor Glenn Yamaguchi [00:49:58]: Lord Jesus, show yourself strong. Father, we just ask you to be glorified. And, Father, we pray, Lord, that would you cover your people, Father, cover your People and Father, as we continue on this last leg of 21 days of prayer, Father, we're thankful that I believe that for many of us, it's the last few days. It's almost like when a woman is pregnant. I don't know if you've noticed, it's not all equal. So it seems like nothing's happening sometimes for some people, for a long time. And all of a sudden you just look like, oh, my gosh, she got so big. It's because that baby doesn't grow all in the same. Pastor Glenn Yamaguchi [00:50:46]: Just like your dreams, just like your prayers, they don't all grow at the same rate. They don't all grow at the same time. But there is an acceleration, Father, we just trust you for an acceleration. As these days come to the end of our 21 days, Father, would you go before us? Bring the deliverance, Father, Bring the breakthrough. Father, I thank you that we will break through when we don't break down. Father, I thank you that there is a yes somewhere. Help us to operate in that yes. And, Father, we come in agreement with our brothers and our sisters who have sent in some prayer requests. Pastor Glenn Yamaguchi [00:51:26]: Father, we're praying for a brother to help him adjust in mind, body and just the whole process of dialysis treatment. Father, we're praying that, Lord, would you renew his strength, Father, would you allow him to rest? Father, we pray as well for family, like his wife, who is Lord, sometimes family we hurt more than the one who's actually ill because we can't do anything about it. But, Father, I pray that she would know, Lord, that her faith matters, that her love matters, that her service matters. She might not be able to change it. God, you don't ask us always to change things. You ask us to love in the midst of things, to stand together. So, Father, I pray that you would bless and cover them. Father, we're praying for a granddaughter who is going to ship off in the Navy boot camp soon. Pastor Glenn Yamaguchi [00:52:20]: And Father, we pray. Lord, I know that they want to break her down before they build her up, but, Father, we pray that you would be her strength and her rock, her comfort. And, Father, that. Lord, we pray that she would give her best, Lord, to bring you honor and glory, strengthen her mind, body, spirit and soul, God. And thank you, Lord, that, Lord, when we are at our end, Lord, sometimes you're just beginning. And so, Father, we are asking that give her favor as she moves forward, but give her courage. Help her to develop grit and resilience, God. And we're praying for Michael, Lord, to heal him for him to hear you, Lord, thank you that you want to call him back. Pastor Glenn Yamaguchi [00:53:12]: Thank you, Lord, that you have never stopped loving him. Father, thank you that, Lord, that you let us walk away. But, Father, like the prodigal, Lord, the father of the prodigal, he was out there every day looking. And so, Father, would Michael come to his senses? Lord, would you bring him to his senses, help him to see himself, help him to see his circumstances and help him to see that it's home where help comes. Father, we ask that you would also relieve the pain and legs and feet and from walking and all of those things, Father, that you said to the Israelites that you're going to walk in the desert, but in those moments their shoes didn't wear out and neither did their blister. Lord, that you said that those who wait upon the Lord, they will regain new strength. Father, we're praying new strength. Would you do me a favor? Just put your hand over your heart. Pastor Glenn Yamaguchi [00:54:12]: Say, God, I need a new strength today. Father, thank you. Whether that strength is physical, whether that strength is emotional, Father, whether that's an empowerment from your spirit. We're just receiving new strength today. Father, you said that those who wait upon the Lord will walk, Father, with a new strength. They will walk and not get re. They will run and not faint, Father, that's what we're asking. Father, would there be an outpouring on this brother? Father, there would be an outpouring on this sister. Pastor Glenn Yamaguchi [00:54:41]: Father, would there be an outpouring on your sons and daughters? Father, we're praying as well for safety for those involved in this Kunia fire. Father, would you give them a wisdom beyond their wisdom and give them favor? Would the winds be favorable? Father, if the rains fall, Father, we pray, Lord, would you bring the moisture? And Father, we're asking as well for our friend who's. Who's asking for reconciliation. And Father, I know he's knocking at the door, he's contending, but Father, thank you. It's you who changes the heart. So, Father, sometimes we pray, we contend, we let them know, but we entrust and we're praying for this person who wants to reconcile. Would they just. Would you entrust this person to God? It's not saying you don't care. Pastor Glenn Yamaguchi [00:55:30]: It's not saying that you won't work, you won't change, you won't do whatever it is, you won't reach out. But it's just saying, would you just trust? Surrender that person to God. Surrender that relationship to God. And Father, we do ask, because we ask all Those things. So, Father, thank you. But we ask for your peace in the middle when there's not an answer, when there's silence and no response to a text or to a phone call, Father, with the enemy who. Who seeks to disturb and steal the peace, Lord, we just say, shut up. In the name of Jesus, get your hand off this, brother. Pastor Glenn Yamaguchi [00:56:11]: And Father, we're praying for a friend who's facing heart surgery. And Lord, that thank you that you're the greatest heart surgeon because you said that you give people new hearts all the time. And Lord, I don't know what needs to happen in this surgery, but thank you that you do. Thank you, Lord, we just pray for favor. Help him to prepare, Father. Help him his body to get stronger. Father, would his faith grow, not weaken? And, Lord, that he'd see the greater grace that's on his life. So, Father, we're asking, Lord, in due time, would you bring the result that, Lord, that we so desperately seek? Father, we are also praying for this other person, Lord, just patience and humility. Pastor Glenn Yamaguchi [00:56:50]: Boy. Lord, that's such a dangerous prayer. Lord, sometimes when we ask for patience and humility, it means we gotta wait and it means we get humbled. And I'll be honest, Lord, sometimes I don't want to pray for patience and humility, but I pray for the sustaining strength that whatever it is that you're developing. And Father, I pray that, Lord, there'd be a capacity to believe you even when we are waiting on you. Father, I pray that there would be a capacity to not blame you, not blame the circumstance, not to blame the people. But, Lord, we entrust our situations, we entrust our lives, we entrust our friends, we entrust our future, Father, we entrust our finances and relationships, Lord, to a loving God. Thank you, Lord Jesus, that you are our high priest and shepherd and the one who makes continual intercession. Pastor Glenn Yamaguchi [00:57:49]: Some of us. Maybe the thing that you've been contending for for a long time, would you just ask Jesus to intercede for you? You've been interceding for people, but have you asked Jesus to intercede for you? That's what he says. He lives continually to make intercession. Would you just say, lord, would you intercede for me in this situation? Father, would you intercede for me in this contending, this contentious relationship? Father, would you intercede for me? Father, thank you that you live. You said to always make intercession. And Lord, when you intercede, Lord, thank you. The Father is moved. And so, Father, we give you grace. Pastor Glenn Yamaguchi [00:58:32]: We thank you for the grace, we give you honor, we give you glory. And Father, we're praying that in that wherever people are at encountering you today, whether they're listening to this live right now somewhere, or in the house, or they're just listening to even a recording, would you manifest your presence, Father? Would you manifest your presence? Thank you that you're a here God. Father, there are places that are far away. You are still there. But thank you that you are here. We just receive it, we believe it, and we'll walk in it today. In Jesus mighty name God's people, say Amen. Amen. Pastor Glenn Yamaguchi [00:59:15]: Hey, thanks for praying with us, guys. Thanks for joining us tonight. Join us tomorrow. Tomorrow's Wednesday and we'll be here again, seven o'. Clock. God bless you guys. Have a wonderful night. Have a great day tomorrow.
