Teri [00:00:00]: Hey, good evening, everyone. You guys can all be seated. Before we start off with the Word, I'll open us in prayer. Let's bow our heads. Gracious and loving God, we are chosen by you, Father God. Thank you for just your continuous love, your continuous guidance. And as we go through new seasons and even old seasons in our lives, Father God, we may experience. Experience some doubt. Teri [00:00:29]: But as a parable of the farmer and the sower will show us tonight that Jesus is the farmer. And he tosses us all the seeds of the Word to pass on to our brothers and sisters that have not known you yet, Father God. And it's such a privilege to be able to do that in our home, our workplace, and our community. And we pray all this in your beloved son, Jesus name. Amen. So how's everyone doing tonight? If you're a child of God, say, yes, I am. Yes, I am. Like one of my favorite worship songs. Teri [00:01:18]: So, yeah, as I was saying in our prayer, that Jesus is the farmer who sows the seeds of the Word of God all over. He throws it into different soils, just like us. He threw the seeds of the Word and gave it to you and me to pass it on. In throwing us the seeds, he may have also placed us in different seasons of our life, seasons that feel uncertain, doubtful. But he wants you to succeed and pass on the seed to everyone. So it could be in the hospital, in a new working place, in a new caregiving role, or even a new parent. You have a child. That's what we're gonna look at tonight, Praying through your doubts in new and different seasons. Teri [00:02:14]: So the parable of the Sower, Matthew 13:1 8. Can you read with me? That same day, Jesus went out of the house and sat by the lake. Such large crowds gathered around him that he got into a boat and sat in it while all the people stood on the shore. Then he told them many things in parables, saying, a farmer went out to sow his seeds. As he was scattering the seeds, some fell along the path and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on the rocky places where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came, the plants were scorched and they withered because they had no root. Teri [00:03:05]: Other seed fell among thorns which grew up and choked the plants. So others fell on good soil where it produced crop 160 or 30 times what was sown. Whoever has ears, let them hear. Amen. And then our next slide here. This is what this parable all means, right? So first of all, when you first hear the seeds of the Word, right? When anyone hears a message about the kingdom and doesn't understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away and it's sown into their heart, right? So this could happen in our job, in our new season of life, right? We might hear it, we might be in a new season, but what now? Right? So we have our new baby. We have our IDs, we have our new caregiving role. But what now? Right? So in this first phase, I want you guys to remember you were chosen. Teri [00:04:17]: Remember you were called for this season. The Lord calls you, and the Lord wants you to be successful. And in Isaiah 43:1. Okay, can you read with me? But now this is what the Lord says. He who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel, do not fear, for I have redeemed you. I have summoned you by name. You are mine. It signifies that God recognizes me, he loves me, and he has ownership of each one of us, highlighting a deep individual relationship and connection with us, all right? It symbolizes that he called us for the position that we're in, the season that we're in. Teri [00:05:09]: So brand new seasons bring new opportunity for us to pass on the Word of God. So as we, you know, are at our first time at the job, our new season might experience the second one. It says the seed falling on the rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. But since they have no root, they last only a short time, right? So whoever has been in a new state, maybe you moved, brand new baby, new job, you're happy. We're filled with joy. But then as the days go on and you're given new tasks and new responsibilities that you not quite sure about, you know, the roots aren't deep yet, so we might get a little discouraged, right? So in those times, I want you guys to remember to keep the joy at the center. After a month goes by, the new season, more might not seem joyful. Continue to pray prayers of joy and thanksgiving, and that those around you, the new baby, your family, your frail parents, pray for those around you, that they would see the joy in you and be inspired to know where your joy comes from, which is the Lord. Teri [00:06:39]: We were scattered to all different walks of our life, to many places, so that we could share the Word of God. So in those times, remember that. And then the third one says, when trouble or persecution comes because of the Word, they quickly fall away, right? So with new tasks and new responsibilities, you might experience a new critique from your boss or even the baby won't stop crying, right? And you're just at a loss. You're at your wit's end. I started a new job recently and I have to do case management with all these juveniles. So you know how much they love to speak, especially when they're in trouble, right? So one part of my job is to ask them, okay, so you admitted to this charge, so what actually happened? In your own words, say what actually happened. No, no, no, no. I don't want to talk about it. Teri [00:07:49]: But that leaves me at my wits end because I can't create any records or report if they don't speak to me, right? And so in my weakness, I'm not a speaker either. So. So I'm trying to figure out in my mind, lord, please give me the strength and the wisdom and discernment. So I asked one of them that was very reluctant to speak. I said, well, if you don't want to speak, why don't you write something? Then here's a white piece of paper, why don't you write something? Write what happened. And lo and behold, the Lord always provides. He wrote two pages of what actually happened. And you know, after he wrote it out and got it out, it seemed that he felt better about finally being able to tell his story. Teri [00:08:38]: Right? And my hope for him, as I tell all my kids, well, you know, he still has a plan for you. I'm waiting for that day that they tell me, who's he, right? And then we can open that door. But with that last part, you know, remember that you are still called to that place and remember that he walks along with you. So even in your trials and tribulations of your new season, he walks with you. As the new season finally starts growing roots, you feel better and understanding. You might get doubtful when you have your first critiques and your first challenges. But just remember to keep praying, keep sharing, keep sharing about the word and also keep asking others to pray with you and for you within your new season as you experience those obstacles and keep God in the center and all the people that you hope to pass that seed along to. And then lastly, which is my favorite as the season progresses, remember that he has a purpose for your life. Teri [00:09:49]: With all our new seasons, he has a purpose for your life. Even when we fully know why we're in that season and he keeps us in that season, know that he was putting you there all along so that you could learn more about him and pass on that word and seed of God to, to all that you encounter. Keep praying, keep going and keep being strong. So at this time, if anyone has any prayer requests, please text those prayer requests and text to prayer request at 808-793-5655. So before we break up into prayer, I will lead us into prayer. Your prayer Gracious and loving God. Let this be a reminder that we are called every day, Father God into new season, new challenges. We are called into our everyday work. Teri [00:11:06]: Father God, you are the potter and we are the clay. Father God. May we embrace being the clay. Father God, thank you for the opportunities that you give us. Thank you for allowing us to meet new challenges and new people and that your light can always shine through us. Father God, may we have a light which is you that always shines through us. Father God, in our times of trouble, may we remember joy. In our times of doubtfulness, may we remember who has chosen us, which is you. Teri [00:11:46]: Father God, thank you for your provisions and thank you for your many blessings that you have given us and we pray all this in your beloved son Jesus name. Amen. It it sa God, you chose us to embrace us. You choose us for this time and place. You created us for greatness. We are more than a conqueror. We pray that the seed you have given us may be shared with others. May we reach out to those at work, home and in community, on the bus, on the plane, in the barbershop, speaking our love and your truth to those who may not know you. Teri [00:44:59]: We believe we are called to those seasons regardless of our struggles. For you are great, Father God. Greater is he in the Word than in the world. Equip us, strengthen us. We pray for our leaders to end decisiveness. We pray for our children that are starting a new season at school. May they realize who they are, a child of God and so are we. May you give them the full honor, the full armor of God. Teri [00:45:32]: We pray for those who are grieving and going through grief. Share. May they find comfort in you and a way to share love to others. We pray for those who are still praying for new seasons in their life, wanting a child, wanting a new job, wanting to be healthy again. May they continue for their seasons, diligently praying with zeal of the Lord. We pray for our pastors, parents, community members that they continue to seek your wisdom and discernment. We need you more than ever, Lord, to fill us in all the seasons of our life. And at this time we pray for our brother and sister, her husband, who is suffering from depression and suffering from the pain that she has in her shoulder. Teri [00:46:26]: Father God thank you God for the time that we're able to spend with our mom, dad and auntie. Watch over them and also pray for my cousin who is currently expecting. May she be surrounded with God's love. And pray for my wife in her new season of life. Pray for TJ to be drawn closer to God and for God to shine his light in his darkness. Touch this back, relief pain. Please pray for Mom Nani to find senior care and activity. Please pray for Jennifer's body to make better, more collagen so she can be healed and walk again. Teri [00:47:13]: Please pray for Sister Leilani and her husband that they will hold on to God during their difficulties with their move to Colorado. And we're also praying for healing and vision as we close tonight. Father God, we just give you all the glory and thanksgiving. May you continue to be the center of our life, Father God, may we walk in our seasons with zeal, with confidence, confidence and patience, knowing that you have gone before us and that you have given us the seed of your word to pass on to your people, Father God, whether they know you or not. We all need the Word, Father God, and you have blessed us with the hands and feet to carry that out. Let us carry that out with all that we have. We pray all this in your beloved son Jesus name, Amen.
