Pastor Glenn Yamaguchi [00:00:02]: Hey. Good evening, everybody. Thanks for joining us on day 1 for our 21 days of prayer. You know, we'll be going, Monday through Friday, from 7 to 8 o'clock, and you can join us in person in the house, and we do encourage you if you can. Or if you, can't, join us online, even if you're watching the recording, from another day. And, take this time to be encouraged and to draw closer to god. You know, what you can expect, when you come is that, for each night, we'll be starting with, some kind of a song of worship because worship, although it's for God, actually blesses us. It attunes our heart to the things of the spirit that attunes our hearts to toward god and remembering who it is that we'll be praying to. Pastor Glenn Yamaguchi [00:00:48]: You know, second thing that you'll encounter when you come is that we'll, always have some kind of a word of encouragement, a word of faith, a word of instruction or or a word of, you know, encouragement. So what you'll, the reason why we do that, you might some of us might be thinking if you're new to joining us for this, it's that the Bible says that the word of God is what produces faith. That it's hearing comes by faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of god. And so we want to stimulate your faith by knowing what not simply the word instructs, but what does the word says is possible. And so, so often we live on what we make possible, but prayer, encourages us to engage the impossible. So after that, there'll be generally be a time to release you, to pray on your own. And and you can be, feel free to pray on your own. Or if you'd like to partner with other people, who might be together, that's, you know, wonderful. Pastor Glenn Yamaguchi [00:01:54]: Let us just take some time to pray. Please don't make it a time to, talk. It's not a time to talk story. It's really a time to pray. And then somewhere between 10 to 15 minutes before the end of the hour, someone will pull us together and, we'll pray corporately and, pray for some things that may be corporate needs or things that people have. Let us know, their prayer request, because you can, text in our your prayer request, and, we'll also be up on the board, in the house. And, people can pray for those things as well. You can always text us at 808-793-5655. Pastor Glenn Yamaguchi [00:02:36]: And so that's kinda what's gonna be happening. And then the end of that, that will will close, and then we'll be released. And, we we do ask that when you come in, would you try to maintain a spirit of prayer, of reverence? And so we're always all of us were happy to see our friends, and we may turn and greet people and, and and high five or hug or what have you. But, please, let's be mindful that people are coming to pray and seek the lord together. And so let's maintain that reverence for them, and for us as well. So, hey, god bless you guys. I know we're getting started, but thanks for joining us and believing God has more in store for you in this next 21 days. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:03:25]: Amen. Amen. Thanks, pastor Glenn, for joining us, via, video. Hey. I just had a quick message about, prayer as we're gonna kick off our 21 days of prayer. I I thought of 2 things that we have to identify that we should identify right off the bat is, 2 things. We gotta know who we're who we're praying to, who we're talking to, who we're praying to, and also, what's the second thing? To whom we're praying and what do we mean by pray without ceasing? So do we walk around praying 24, 247 just, you know, babbling? I don't have that many words. I'm sorry. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:04:02]: I cannot pray that much. But we we can, unpack this and we'll see what exactly is meant by pray without ceasing, at least, you know, but biblically and also to whom we are praying. So first of all, we gotta know who we're talking to first, and we have to trust that they are people who we can, entrust our prayers to and, worthy of our of our prayers. And, you know, of course, if you know, it's almost like a no brainer if we call ourselves Christians. We're praying to God almighty and Christian, our Christian God. But really, before we pray, and ask for stuff, we have to consider who we're praying for. You know, prayer and remembering prayer is a sacred sacred moment, sacred thing, a holy moment. You know, trust in that person, you know, we have to have. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:04:49]: And also trusting, you know, giving them reverence, giving them respect and honor to God. That's also has to go. You know, we we hear sometimes you hear, you know, my buddy Jesus and people have the Jesus in their car and stuff, or they're supposed to say, bro, you know, Jesus is my bro. And, you know, I get that sometimes, you know, as a friend. Yeah. But, you know, I think pastor Glenn had a message. You have to know the, the the proper, etiquette or or so to say. Like, if royalty came, you know, royalty is worthy of our our, rivers. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:05:26]: And he's not just a man. He's not a good luck charm, you know, and not a vending machine. So as we mature and grow in in Christ, we realize, oh, so I can pray to God that he can give me anything and then we get we, you know, have it. We don't really have it all straightened out in our head yet as young believers coming in. We've seen that before. So just to straighten that all out. Yeah? It's, it's, the tension between, you know, we you so I can ask God for anything. Sure. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:05:55]: Ask him for anything. Will he give you everything you ask for? That's a different question. Sometimes he answers yes, sometimes no, sometimes it's wait. So it's really a conversation with God, honest conversation with God. We remember, who he is. Okay? We remember and and the thing that changes it is his ways are higher than our ways. We remember that. That's what makes him worthy of our, reverence. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:06:23]: Right? Because his ways are so much higher than our ways. Let me see. If you look at the Old Testament, there has so many words names for God. Right? In the Old Testament, we have Jehovah Jireh, which means God our provider. And they they just used to have all these different names for God. In the old testament, they used to call him Jehovah Rapha, God our healer, right? Jehovah Rohi, the God who sees. So God sees us. He knows us. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:06:55]: Isn't that a beautiful thing to think about all of these different names? And there are names that we can call God for different seasons, different times in our lives. And, that's such a such a blessing to me and and, an encouragement to me to know that he's he's, they call it in a big word, omniscient. He knows everything. Omnipresent. He's all over. Right? So, you know, as we pray, I just had this vision earlier of of Jesus sitting down with us individually. You know how you sit at a Starbucks at a little coffee, the little table is small, and you just room for 2 2 people. And if if you could picture Jesus is sitting with each person at a time, you know, knowing what they're talking about. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:07:40]: You know, if they're crying, he's crying along with them. If they're rejoicing, if they're excited about something, Jesus is there at a table. That's that's to me a prayer. And, you know, I think if we have that vision, it's, it's good. God is our savior. We can't forget that. And if you're on the fence, if you're ever thinking, I don't know if this Christian thing is right for me or whatever. You know, scripture says, taste and see that the Lord is good. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:08:09]: If you're you're dabbling, if you're putting a toe in the water, I'm glad you're watching us. But if you want him to be your savior and Lord, it's, it's, it's a simple matter of just confessing to him, I need you, God. And it can be that simple. And then, you know, you follow through with some more follow-up. You maybe join a local church and talk to somebody about it. Right? Because God puts churches for that purpose so we can walk alongside each other. Okay? Another name is God our comforter. So isn't it good to know that God is our comforter? And before he left to heaven, Jesus Christ, before he left to heaven, he said, don't worry. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:08:51]: I'm gonna send a comforter you know, the Holy Spirit to be with you. So that's that's God. That's who we're praying to to. So you see how much bigger and bigger and bigger he is as we as we consider who we're praying to. I think that's always, important. Amen? You know, sometimes, you know, you're running you're running from either your thoughts or, you need just a place to rest and in God because it's been just a little too hectic. God is our fortress. Okay? He's our fortress. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:09:20]: He protects us from whatever is going on so we can, be protected by God. God is our fortress. He's alpha and omega in the Greek letters, the beginning, the a, and the and the end. You know? The beginning and the end. The alpha and omega. He was there in Genesis of the Bible. He's there in Revelation at the end of the Bible. Okay? That's that's who we're praying to. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:09:42]: So let's have that big picture. Let's live big lives for a big God. Amen? Alright. Send a chat if you're watching. Send a fire emoji if you you feel in the fire yet. This is such a beautiful song that I've I've heard, and I gotta go look it up again. Don't know who really even sings it, but this is our God, you know. And then don't forget, there's no other gods before me is what he says in the 10 commandments. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:10:09]: Right? God says, hey, don't look at those other gods, whatever kind of gods, whether it's false idols from different religions or your car or your your guitar or your Hot Wheels collection, you know, but whatever it may be. Okay? No other gods before me worship God alone. There's a song, that that kind of walks us through, you know, when when things are happy, you know, run to Jesus. It says, run to Jesus. I don't know if you remember that song. And then, you know, it talks about something like when you're grateful, to when you meet someone, then, you know, you are, you dance with Jesus. You dance with Jesus. And, there's another part of the song that says, you know, if some if stuff is, hard, you walk it through a hard season, you cry with Jesus. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:10:58]: And then at the end of the song, you know, when our life is through, then fly with Jesus. Fly to Jesus. It's a beautiful song. Look it up. See if you can find it. Also, you know, in the Bible, we read, the laments. He he he lets us lament with him. Like I said, he's at that coffee table, and we're we're we're pouring out our heart with him. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:11:19]: You know, there's a whole book in the Bible, Lamentations, of, you know, stuff not going right. And no matter sometimes we pray and stuff doesn't go right, doesn't go our way. And that's just, you know, welcome to the world. Right? But, you know, that doesn't stop us from praying and asking and seeking. And that's what we're gonna look at next. Okay? But whenever the spectrum goes like that, you know, happy, sad, right in the middle. And I pray for this. Sometimes we pray and we're happy on the other end and we keep record. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:11:50]: God answered this prayer. God answered that prayer. God answered this one. Not this one, but he answered this one and this one. So it weighs out. It balances out sometimes. K? So that's who we're praying to. And then now we're gonna look at, praying without ceasing. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:12:05]: Oh, by the way, the scripture that, that we're going through tonight is, rejoice always, pray without ceasing ceasing. It's from 1st Thessalonians 516. Yeah. 1st Thessalonians 5 16 through 18. It says, rejoice always and pray without ceasing. Give thanks in all circumstances, all circumstances, that whole spectrum. Give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you and for me. Right? We're going to rejoice always. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:12:37]: We're going to pray without ceasing. You know, we'll get into that a little bit more, not like 247. And I'll touch on that. But, you know, that's our scripture. That's that's how we are our theme this week, this, this prayer session, 21 days. And you'll hear it over the next 20 days. Now that this first day is done, we got 20 more, different people from our church will be sharing a word, about prayer. And so please join us. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:13:06]: I know you'll be encouraged. Okay? Prayer is not just for rehab. Prayer is for prehab. Don't wait until it's too late. Wait wait till, you know, things go wrong. Don't wait to the rehab. Use prayer for prehab. In other words, before things go wrong, be in prayer, be in conversation, all in the good times and the bad times, in confusion, in weakness, in struggle. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:13:30]: Those are the times to pray. Okay? When you feel, man, I know something's coming on. I feel, whatever your blood rising, some something situation or person is kinda getting on your nerves or the tension, you know, cool down, take a breath, and then pray. Give it to the Lord. Okay? So you don't have to go through rehab. And if you do, pray pray over there too. So use it for prehab and rehab. K? Prayer is good for that. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:13:55]: But we never stop praying 247. You know, maybe not in words, but in thoughts. If you if you see something, pray something. That's my new, slogan. If you see something, pray something. We hear ambulances, Donna and I, and we're driving in the car. And my, my mom had ambulance had to call the ambulance a few times. So this time, it was very different at at at my house. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:14:18]: When I she would call me. I was living at Ewa Beach, and I had to drive over across town. And I drive up, and I'd see the ambulance at our at our little house at her little apartment. And I knew they were there to pick her up, and it just changed the whole, meaning of a siren of an ambulance siren from that then on. Right? So we have those moments in our lives. So we pray for who whatever that ambulance is going to, whatever call. And we've been in the ER, Donna and I, and where they had no rooms, and we were in the hallway. And then the the ambulance guys bring somebody in with who whatever condition. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:14:54]: You never know. Pray for that situation. Maybe no one ever prayed for them in their life. Who knows? But we're like, lord god, take care of this person. Be with the, be with their body. There's give them strength. Give them endurance for whatever is to come next, Lord. Heal what what's ailing them. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:15:09]: See something. Pray something. Right? Something a situation, a concern, pray for it. Stand in the gap. Right? Stand in the gap for somebody. Another thing I wanna share is, when you feel anxious, when you feel nervous, feel worried, when you lack confidence, maybe maybe that's where you are right now. It's like, man, I don't know about this prayer. How can I pray 21:21 seconds? Yeah. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:15:32]: I can hardly pray 21 seconds, let alone 21 days. Well, you know what? It starts where you are. You start wherever you are. And we've had friends of ours who kinda joined the church. And, you know, when they have a prayer circle, okay. Now it's your turn. And they go, I pass. And then they would just pass and let somebody else pray. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:15:51]: Guess what? Over time, that girl turned into a prayer warrior. She started out. They don't wanna pray. And then slowly during the course of the years, staying in God, staying in fellowship and community. She's a mighty prayer warrior of God now. Man getting the, what? Impartations and the prophecies and telling you and giving you encouragements and praying in in the spirit and everything. Holy Moses. You know, we know who would know that? You know? But we encourage her. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:16:19]: Right? Okay? So wherever start wherever you are as you follow, as you follow the prompts of the the next 20 speakers, who whoever's gonna be speaking. You know, give heed to that. And then, just imagine yourself after the 21 days. You'll be stronger. You'll be more prayer more of a prayer warrior. I never used to do this. I never wanted to do this. I was in the back playing the guitar or or a bass or something, but slowly, you know, came up. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:16:45]: And I'm doing this now because of prayer, I think. And because, you know, I've seen God work and move. So, you know, all for the Lord, you know, more of him, less of me. And you'll find peace when you connect with God. And one of the best verses I found about about this in prayer is one of the first ones I've memorized. It says, do not be anxious about anything. Watch this. Boom. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:17:09]: There you go. Do not be anxious, about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And then here's the promise, and the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. So a couple of things he says, don't be anxious. Just chill. Take that deep breath like I said. And when you see something, pray about something in every situation. And then, prayer and petition. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:17:36]: You go you can go ahead and do a word study on that if you want, prayer and petition with thanksgiving. So always, helps with a grateful heart. Always a thankful heart. Thank you, God. We usually start off thanking God, praising God, and then getting into our prayers and petition, knowing that his ways are higher than our ways, but putting our request out there. And dream big. We're gonna get into that next. Yeah. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:18:02]: We're gonna get into that in our prayer. But, another point I wanted to make is it's not really the quantity. It's the consistency in prayer. It's the consistency as you do. Anything that you do consistently, you'll get better at. Right? You play tennis every day, you'll get good at tennis. Whatever it is, you know, you play guitar, you're trying to get learn piano or learn guitar, you practice, practice. Maybe maybe not every day, every once a week. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:18:29]: And then in a month, you'll you'll bet you'll be better, better at talking to God, but you'll be better at hearing God's voice too because you're getting into alignment now where he can speak to you. You're cutting off all the old things. Right? He's saying out out with the old, in with the new. K? Not quantity, but consistency and prayer. I love I think my favorite Star Wars movie, you know I was gonna get to Star Wars sooner or later, is the story Rogue 1, a Star Wars story. And I was watching it again. Why was I watching it? I forgot. But anyway, anyway, there's a there's a character. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:19:08]: He's a he's a blind monk, and his name is, Chirut Imwe Chirut Imwe. And he has a big staff, and he's good at, like, kendo. You know, the Japanese art of kendo stick fighting. Right? And so he's blind, but he has this he has the force. In Star Wars, they don't have the holy spirit have the force. It's a fictitious place, so don't get, you know, all, ruffled about this. But it's it's just a, you know, analogy comparison, but he has the force. He says he walks around here. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:19:36]: His mantra is, I am one with the force and the force is with me. I am one with the force. The force is with me. He gets his courage from the force. Right? And he goes out even in in battle when it looks crazy and everybody's shooting at him. He has confidence in his force, and then he gets the job done. He has to go out and pull some lever, and they can shine the the plans for the death star. And, I don't wanna give away anything if you haven't seen it, but I don't know if he makes it. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:20:02]: Well, I don't know. You gotta watch Rogue 1. But, you know, as as Christians, we should be confident in in, the Holy Spirit. I have the spirit. The spirit was in me. And we don't need to say that out loud. People think you're crazy, but you just can think it. I have the spirit and the spirits in me. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:20:21]: Right? I have the spirit. I have the spirit the spirit in me. So if it looks crazy outside, you see some sketchy sketchy characters. I have the spirit. The spirit's with me. You just chill. Hey. What's up everybody? And you just kind of knowing that God is with you. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:20:35]: But never forget how to run. Like I said, run a tay is my best defense. Anyway, Chirrut Imway. Look him up. He's a he's a blind monk in charge of the temple with the kyber crystals. Anyway, that's too much nerd information for anybody. But, anyway, that's my point is to always have faith and trust that the spirit is with us. Okay? You know, let's let's let's have it natural, to be supernatural, to know these things are working in the in the heavenlies, in the spiritual realm. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:21:07]: Okay? Be bold in our prayer, and, we're gonna we're gonna pray in a little bit. We're gonna cut out now because we're in a little overtime. So we'll be back at 7:50, to do corporate prayer. But, we're gonna pray for, pray for a few things. For thanks, you know, in our quiet time now, we're gonna start off with thanksgiving. Thank you, God, for for the blessings. Right? We're gonna, pray for things that are on our heart, for our family. Let's pray for our family, whatever situation. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:21:38]: So this is just a little, checklist that that you can start off with, like a little, prompt bullet points. Whatever concerns you have, Is there something that you have to forgive? You have to ask forgiveness by all means. And let's you know, in the Lord's prayer, he says, keep us, deliver us from evil. Right? Don't let the temptation don't let us succumb to temptation, but deliver us from evil. Right? You can pray against that stuff. And the the devil, he's he's out there, but you just pray against him with the authority of in in Christ that we have. Devil, you gotta just be quiet, be silent because we're not no longer, you know, listening to you. We're listening to God. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:22:21]: We are children of God. K? So use these prompts. We'll come back at 7:50. Your the spirit is with you. God bless. Thank you for joining us right now for our 21 days of prayer. We're gonna close in our corporate, prayer, prayer time. But I I pray that you had a good time of thanking God and and, for his blessings and, praying for what's on your heart. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:43:32]: We're gonna just lift up a few things now before the Lord if you'll join us all, if you'll all join us in prayer. Father God, we're just so grateful and thankful for, meeting us here, Lord God, and hearing our prayers right where we are, Lord God. And you know, you know where we are, and we know that you stand by us, Lord, in the joys and in the pains and in the laughter and in the tears. You're always with us, Lord God. You're always standing by our side, Lord God. We praise you, Lord, for being our light in the darkness, Lord, when we can't see. And we praise you for being our comforter, Lord, when we need our when we need comfort for being our shield, Lord God, for being our healer and our protector. We lift you up, Lord God. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:44:15]: There's no one let no one like you, Lord. No one else like you. Amen. As we seek you, Lord, for these 21 days upcoming days, we seek you earnestly, Lord. We seek you in faith. And we trust that you'll calm our hearts, Lord, and you'll open our ears so we can listen clearly, open our eyes that we can see where you're moving, Lord God, and how you're moving and how you're speaking to us. So let us be receptive to that, Lord. Lift up a friend's dad who's, just starting to go through treatment. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:44:53]: And we thank you, Lord, for treatment, for bone cancer, Lord God. We know you are bigger than bone cancer, Lord God. Any kind of cancer that he be cancer free. We have a declared right here that our prayer is that he that that is cancer free, Lord God. So make it effective, the radiation make the chemo, pill effective, Lord God. Let his attitude be one of healing on the road to recovery, Lord God. Pray in faith, Lord, that you the great, almighty physician, the great healer will touch dad's leg right now, his knees in Jesus' name and, put an end to any of that cancer. Let it not be spreading in Jesus' name. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:45:34]: Let it just be confined. Let it shrivel up and die, Lord God. We pray that cancer could get out of that body in Jesus' name. Hallelujah. Thank you, God. And we just, thank you for bringing healing and and speak life to the family around him too. Lord God. Let them, know the the best way to go about these things. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:45:53]: Get a attitude and a atmosphere of peace and love throughout the house and and, a fortitude. And thank you for dad's good attitude, Lord, for just getting to the nitty gritty and, you know, fighting against this in Jesus name. We lift up our friend's granddaughter, Celia. God, just cure her of any digestive issues. Only 7 months old, but, God, we just know that, you can, you can touch her stomach, Lord. Touch her digestive system and make it back to normal in Jesus' name. Let it come back to normal. Let her not have any issues or problems with her digestion. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:46:32]: And, just be with, the doctors, any of the any kind of meds that she might have to take. And just bring peace and rest to her and as well as the family, Father. In Jesus' name. We thank you for all those who submitted. Prayers. We love to see your prayers. We love to see your, your, praise reports also. Heavenly Father, we wanna believe you to be the mountain mover, Lord God. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:46:58]: And we believe you, Lord, that whoever battling through be broken in Jesus' name. We know you can set the captives free. So those who are battling through, going through maybe, treatments or just changing of their life that they want they don't want any of that addictions no more. In Jesus' name, knock that off. Let the desire be gone for whatever, is afflicting them, Lord God, addictions and, just cravings and whatever it is that's not good for them. They did not put them in alignment in right alignment with you, but bring them back to into alignment with you so they crave good things, Laura, good things, not bad things. Laura, do we know, we wanna see the miracles, but we never wanna forget the miracle worker, which is you, Lord God. So we just wanna put all our trust. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:47:50]: We're gonna bring it all to you, bring it all to the altar, Lord. We thank you for your steadfast love, Lord God. And, we just ask for a steadfastness also in those who, have, caring for the long term care of loved ones. Lord God. We know it's a hard road. It's a road, that is a calling. It is an honor to take care of our loved ones. So just give them steadfastness. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:48:15]: Give them a rest, Lord God, and peace and a balance through it all, Lord God. And just speak life into those situations. You said in your word, behold, I'm doing a new thing. So we look forward to new things coming up in our lives, Lord, in our church, in our lives, Lord God. We pray for more in person connections, more, in our life groups, Lord God, in our church that people will connect and get to know, you, but to get to know each other too, Lord, and form communities. And maybe you have the boldness to join into teams, Lord God, for our at our church, Lord God, making a difference discovering their purpose, discovering the benefits of a life lived in community, Father God, and, making a difference to others, lord, who are seeking you. And that's really the way how you designed it, lord God. You You save us and then you turn around and make disciples so we can appoint others to the way, to you, Lord God. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:49:18]: So we lift this up in Jesus name. Lord, we'd pray for, the next 20 days, Lord. We thank you for this first this first of the 21 days of prayer. We pray for the rest of the 20 days, though, all the presenters, that's their prepared messages. Lord, let them hear clearly, from you, Lord. Messages. Lord, let them hear clearly, from you, Laura. Let it speak to us, Lord God, very clearly, and how we can adjust maybe and how we can use some of the things, how it prompts us. Pastor Jeff Pagay [00:49:48]: So, thank you for all the people who are presenting. The musicians, Lord, the, worshipers, the tech people, everything, everybody. And allow us to just take this to heart to just press in on these 21 days, whatever, heavy on our hearts, Lord.
